So, how is everyone? I'm currently just sitting here, listening to our dear admin snoring on the sofa Taking a break from the stress that is my art portfolio... There is this really cool-looking animation school in Denmark that I'd love to attend, but I kind of realised a few months too late that I need to make a portfolio for it and now there's hardly any time left *faints* And next week is "peak week" at work... Oh, man...  School holidays means hellish days for us retailers. Ugh, can't wait until I get a different job that doesn't require direct customer contact... xP |

If you get in does it mean you'll be flying off to Denmark then?
I myself have been well, just been working away, saving up for that Wacom tablet, should hopefully have enough cash by the end of the month! Muhahahahaha.

Would be awesome to see what kind of stuff you'll add into the portfolio. :3 As for me... weeeell, things are going all right at the university. Our current courses are (mostly) fun, with one exception that's just lectures where we listen to this oh-so-boring lady talk with such a tiny little voice that you're lucky to hear anything lol. The subject's a bit boring too, mostly speaking of the history of industrial design. While I understand it might be useful to know... Well... I've never been good with history. <.< Too bad for me that we actually need to write this diary sort of thing out of that course where we ponder the stuff that's been spoken about on each lecture. Not gonna be fun to write that one... <.< On the other hand, I've had a lot of fun on this plastic composition course. Basically we do stuff out of clay, wood and gypsum, and some other materials if we want to try them out. Our teacher suggested we could do snow sculptures at some point if we want to. xD It's sure been awesome to get back to making stuff out of clay after over half a year of not being able to do any ceramics. xD Other than that... Well... Skyrim's been eating my time lately. :'D It's awesome to play it, but also kind of a shame that I don't really do much else at the moment. I've got a few drawing ideas I'd like to get done, but... yeah... Nothing better than hunting down some random dragons, right? :'D And I totally should scan some of the drawings I've made for uni... <.< There's just so many of them! I swear this one time last autumn I drew like 20 pages of sketches, and another time I spent 7 hours trying to draw a hammer in a weird angle with perspective somewhat correct. It was insane. o_____o |

Those are pretty good Kanu, I wouldn't sell myself short if I were you.
That's the type of stuff they want to see, it's fine and all to bring in spectacular finished marvels of art, but from what I've seen they only care so much about that. I think what they like to see is how you came about creating that piece, inspiration, how you think, that sort of jazz.
But I'm not an art professor so XD
Just do a mixture of works both sketch and finished etc and I'm sure you'll do fine ^_^
Speaking of skyrim, did you see e Bethesda Game Mash they did Kirsui?
All the programmers etc got a week to make their own stuff for Skyrim, some of it could even be future dlc. Some of the stuff was awesome, like adding spears and kill cam for archery and magic and giant mud crabs and darker dungeons and stuff, very cool video.

Hey this place is back and wow I was slow to relize that ><.
Does anyone know a good song to do a martial arts form to? For my second degree I am required to preform a custom creative form to music and I am trying to find agood song to do it to.

lol, "godparent" still sounds weird though. I'm not Christian either, so double strange there. xD Finnish just has this neutral word for "godparent" that is used for both Christian and other godparents. Also, why the heck are we suddenly loaded with tons of stuff that should be done over at the uni?? x__x I swear we've got so many dead-lines coming up that I dunno when the heck I'm gonna do everything... As a positive note though, I managed to install my new network drive and even got it working with my linux laptop.  Now if I only managed to solve some wireless network authentication issues that my laptop has at the uni, I'd be a very happy Sui. 8DD |

Lawl, looks like things are going wild over there in Coventry then.  As for the Linux... I did some research yesterday, and it seems that the problem I have with the wireless is very common in other universities too. Looks like it's a problem with Ubuntu itself not having some authentication certificates that are needed to connect to this type of networks. Sucks, but then again I was just testing Ubuntu on the laptop, and was planning to move on to some other Linux version (preferably the kind that works with the wireless at uni without having to do tons of fixing... <_<) I also discovered how much fun drawing collabing with pencil and paper is today. I had some free time with my class mate, and we both took A3 papers and drew one of our characters on them, then swapped and drew again. :3 She's gonna scan them today, and we both will take a shot with colouring them. x3 Fun fun fun. |

Oh, yes, collabs like that are really cool ;D I want do more of those myself, but I need to find people to draw with first xD In other news, tomorrow I'm going to Sweden for the weekend. Yay I wish Adam could've come too, but work is work, unfortunately. I only just managed to get these days off myself, because my supervisors apparently have different sets of rules when it comes to asking for days off. Hmpf >.> |

Ugh... I'm totally having the worst 3 courses so far going on right now at uni. <_____< One of them is so darn boring everyone's having problems concentrating. Another one would be interesting, but the lecturers really suck. And the third one... we need to design LED lamps/etc that would make cards and/or driving safer.
Not
fun.
At least that painting course is awesome. I just hope these three other courses won't fail too badly. <_< >_>

Haha, Pulsar, I do think I could use a whole lot more development xD Hopefully a year will be a better time span to assemble a portfolio, rather than a couple of months xP They've scheduled me a feedback session for this one, so that'll be interesting for sure... If they say "Nah, you need to seriously improve everything to stand a chance." I might reconsider and go for something else, whatever that might be. And yeah, I hear you, Kir. The course I took at the university in Lund a couple of years ago would have been really interesting, if the lectures and books hadn't been so awfully dull. At least you have one course to look forward to As for me, work is gonna be a royal pain now for the next few weeks. The kids are off school... Uh oh Is it just me or do UK kids have a really long Easter holiday? |
