Adolescent Ages

[Dagger]

Dagger was silent as he walked in step beside Seleter. Being male he was a little bigger then her and that much was obvious but he did not say a word or try to push on the others like most male cheetahs would have. Instead he was thinking silently to himself. Ribs moving slowly in and out to show his breathing while his hip bones shivered a little bit, tail flicking.

His ear flicked a little bit at the words of the others and he couldn't help but smile a little as he heard Remba speak to Charlie. Of course he had made it obvious he did not like lions. However cubs were different to him... he wasn't sure how but they were.

Charlie smiled down at the cub, how was it in such a short time, he had become to care so much for the little one, he knew he would die for her if it had to come to that, she was so innocent and precious, while scar and his ugliness tried to spread through their lives.

"Why thank you for that kind offer Remba, maybe one day I will take you up on that, as I know you will become the strongest, fastest lioness I'll know. And my foot, yes it's giving me a bit of trouble, but I'll be fine, I'm sure we havent got much further to go."

"Remba ..?, it seemed that you liked the King cheetah even though he was grumpy, but you didn't like Ayfa, yet she was soft and caring towards you... what made you decide those things ? "

Charlie turned away from her for a moment so he could grimace in pain without being seen, he just needed to take his mind off his body rebelling with pain every time his paw hit the hard dry dirt floor they were walking on, and thats where Remba came in, she would keep him distracted till they arrived at there resting place for the night.

"Where will we get food from? If what you say is true there isn't much to hunt."

The golden cheetah glanced at the lioness who had appeared to walk beside her before her gaze returned to the path ahead of them.
"No... There isn't much to hunt indeed. We've been lucky with the prey we've caught... "
She sighed.
"And it isn't safe to us anymore to hunt openly on the savannah in case we are spotted. I would think.. That if we want to eat, we have to try find it from the jungle, at least for now."

Seleter glanced at the king cheetah who walked on the other side of her. How she had suddenly become surrounded by both the newcomers, she didn't know. While the lioness was rather friendly, though slightly annoying, the king cheetah was... Well... Truth was she didn't know what to think of him. And so, she tried to keep her gaze forward and stop herself from glancing at Dagger in curiosity. Was she simply curious to see another cheetah, or had she spent too much time with all these lions...?

Her ears perked up and she smiled widely.
"We're here!" she exclaimed joyfully, though there was a part of relief in her voice as well.

Wether the relief was there out of the fact she could now finally ake care of Charlie's paw, or because she got away from the two newcomers - and especially the male cheetah - would be left unsolved as she lead the group away from the path and to a small stream that flowed through the jungle. The water was clear in it, and the golden cheetah turned her gaze at Charlie, lifting one eyebrow slightly in silent question if he'd come to the water so that the wound could be treated.

Afya broke away from walking next to Seleter as they arrived. She wanted to clean Charlie's wound, Afya didn't want to get in the way. She checked her surroundings again. Dagger was certainly not someone she wanted to sit next to, he seemed grumpy. Once again the joke about King Cheetahs hopped into her head and she stifled a laugh. She looked over at Charlie and Remba who had been at the back. Charlie's paw looked like it was giving him agony. Remba seemed very sweet and loyal to Charlie and Seleter.

Afya was determined to do one thing right. She sat up straight and sniffed the air again, she could keep a look out. If Scar was as brutal as her dad he would have sent spies to kill them.

While Charlie waited for Remba to answer his question about the two new comers, he heard Seleter exclaim out loud about finding fresh water. Lifting his head he looked at her, her smile made her appear so much younger, it was good to see after all the troubles they had found themselves in lately.

Realising he was staring rudely at her, when all she was waiting for, was for him to move down into the water, Charlie started to hobble forward trying not to cringe. He stopped for a moment, and called to the cub over his shoulder.
" Remba you come too," then giving the King Cheetah a lookover he then swung his eyes back to the cub " dont want anything happening to you, do we."

Slowly he moved into the cool water and laid down on the sandy floor. Only his front paws were submerged, and the slapping of the refeshing liquid at his chest, soothed the pain. Charlie closed his eyes for a moment just relaxing, his face felt hot and he could feel sweat starting to run. Stretching his paws foward even more the black lion leant his head down till he could feel the coldness touch his nose, then closing his eyes he plunged his head under the water, just as quickly he pulled back up, shaking water droplets everywhere.

Remba moved closer to the water after Charlie called out for her, then sat down on her rump and watched while Seleter watched Charlieand his hurt paw, His face all crinkled up at times so she knew that it was sore, so while she sat there she thought about what to say to his question he had asked about the two that had just joined them

"Umm well, with the Cheetah, his eyes were smiling when he looked at me and talked, I just knew he wouldn't hurt me... and that lady Ayfa...well.. I'm not sure, she seems strange, I just liked him better, thats all"

Turning slightly Remba looked back at them, the lioness was walking around sniffing the air,the cub rolled her small eyes, then her glance stayed on Dagger and a grin lit her muzzle as she watched his funny tail flicker all over the place.

[Dagger]

Hm, such an interesting bunch they were... although Afya still caught him as a strange type. Rolling his eyes he flickered his glance to Charlie, silently watching as he soaked in the water before shaking off. Without a word the male cheetah pawed forward and began to sniff a little, frowning a bit before sighing. There probably weren't going to be any fish left either after all of this.

Sighing he drank a bit of water, which if he recalled right he hadn't had in about two days now. Then without a word he flicked his ears before plopping down onto his rump, tail flicking slowly back and forth, unknowing of the mischivious Remba eyeing said appendage.

Afya watched as Charlie soaked in the water then shook water droplets everywhere. Deciding to keep a safe distance from the flying water she sat still for a while. She noticed Remba watching Daggers tail she smiled slightly and closed her eyes...

"Afya we an do this the easy way or the hard way" Her fathers voice said as he stood beside her mothers dead body. Afya trembled never had he been in such a rage. She silently walked over to her mothers body and sniffed it. She looked up crying her eyes out.

"MURDERER!" She screamed and leaped on him. Her claws tearing at his face. Her fathers final cry of agony and hatred echoed around her. She stood still examining her fathers body.

"Daddy" She tried. She nudged him then realised she had just killed her own father. Or at least it looked like she had. Afya ran terrified

"AH!" Afya yelled as she awoke from her slumber. How could she have fallen asleep so easily? She suddenly realised she had cried out in terror. She looked down worried. Afya realised she had tossed and turned onto her side. Her breathing was shallow and her heart was hammering.

Remba sat there watching the big fluffy tail jump all over the place, slowly she shuffled her self along the ground bit by bit behind the big lion, all she wanted to do was touch it to see if was all soft and warm. With her eyes glued on her target she was about to jump in the air when it swung next towards her.

With a grin on her muzzle, she saw it get closer and closer, pushing her back paw pads into the groud, she managed to raise herself up so her front paws could touch the tail, when a loud scream reached her ears and gave her a fright. Instead of just touching the furry tail, she had grabbed hold of it with her claws and was now swinging.

"Oh Noes...I'm in trouble...I'm sorry, its all her fault, she yelled and gave me a fright"

Remba realisied what she was doing and let go, dropping to the ground with a small thud landing on her rump "ouch"

Meanwhile.......

Near the border of the pridelands Kyto was walking with his mom Shaki. Kyto hadn't eaten in days and his mom had told him earlier that day that they were going towards a big rock; where there will be food and shelter for them.

As Kyto was padding along side his mom he asked "Mom when will we get to the big rock?" Shaki answered in a low tone "soon very soon, for now why dont you go in the tree ill be up there in a little bit." So with that said Kyto ran towards the big green tree and climbed on the biggest limb.Kyto waited there for hours and his mom still wasn't there. Where could she be he thought to himself.

So Kyto climbed down the tree and started his way towards where he had left his mom. The sun was high in the sky and shining its heat right on him. When Kyto got to where he had left his mom there was no sign of her, just a bunch of scrambled up paw prints left in the dirt. "Maybe shes at the tree and i just didn't see her?"

Kyto was exausted by the time he got back to the tree, but when he found his mom she was on the floor near the tree. Bite marks and scratches all over Shaki. When Kyto got to Shaki he sobbed "Get up, Come on we got to get to the big rock. Get up!!!"

Shaki answered with a weak voice " sh sh sh. Go that way, there you will find the big rock and shelter. You must leave me here ok?" Shaki pointed in the direction of Pride Rock. Kyto started padding in the direcction he was told to go. Not knowing what to expect.

[Dakota]

As Charlie lay there in the water, he could feel his stomach starting to churn. He wasn't sure what was wrong with him, but he needed to move, and move quick.
Gripping the sandy bottom with his claws, he pushed forward lifting his sleek black body from the water and moved away from those that were lying nearby. Passing Seleter last he didn't even have the energy to look at her.

Moving into some bushes, he stood there as his insides started to shudder and roll in a ripple effect. Sweat broke out over his head and face once more and his mouth went dry. Lowering his head towards the dusty ground, Charlie started to swallow repeatedly, in a way trying to stop what was starting to move upwards, wanting to escape and leave his body, and in another way trying to force the poison away.

Shaking violently, the black lion stood and let nature take its course, and by the end feeling totally drained. All he wanted was to collapse right where his paws still held him, but turned and moved away back to the waterhole, all he wanted right now, was to feel fresh cool water hit his face and to drink away the foul flavour left in his mouth.

Back near the same spot as where he had risen from, he slowly lowered himself down, and lapped greedily, water spilling from the sides of his mouth, and slowly the trembling of his body stopped and he opened his eyes, to find another pair watching him closely.

[Fire]

(Woot.. Scar and Fire are baaaack... xD)

The black-maned lion looked down at the lion who was on the ground and crouched, the slice on his cheek still fresh from the smack he had received earlier. Scar just smirked and then sat down in front of Fire in a bold attempt to be cocky and confident. "I can definitely see why Nala likes you, Fire... You are almost the clone to another one of her best friends that.. unfortunately.. 'died of natural causes'.." He chuckled at these words and rolled her fingers on his paws and staring at them in a bored sort of look, Fire shaking his head and then sitting down in front of Scar, not threatened but questioning.

"I do not look like 'anything' of the sorts... Why does everyone keep saying this?" He questioned Scar.

"Because... I will be as brutally honest as I can.. You are the almost 'exact' clone to Simba.. With the exception of the mane of red.. You're the personality of a fireball, a pyro of some sorts. Full of youth and life, and like all young ones, they are somewhat impatient and stubborn."

"I AM N-.... not...." He had caught himself in Scar's game and then quietly said his last word, his mind getting defeated and his eyes staring back up at Scar. "This land.. This land is filthy.. Vegetation is almost at the minimum, your lionesses are on edge as far as their mentality.. Why.. Why do you keep ruling under these conditions?..."

Scar just chuckled deeply within his chest and rubbed his scrawny mane. "This.. is the Circle of Life. Not everything has to be perfect, boy.. There are times when everything has to go into a dip before it comes back to it's preferred state. That.. is how life is.. I always expected this to happen.. Hell, I think I did Mufasa a favour... oop..." He clenched a paw over his muzzle and then wde-eyed at his Freudian slip.

Fire's eyes picked up on that quickly. Even though he sometimes wasn't the smartest of the lions, he had something that always made him quick-minded and witted. "You... But isn't Mufasa.. .... You SON OF A" And with that the claws came out again, wrestling one over the other and doing things that cats would do in a fight, the battle seeming to last forever as the two conflictors fight it out...

"Do you need me to help you with your friend?"

Nala was about to turn away when she heard the words from the one calling himself Ranger.Turning she stared at him, she still didn't believe he was any relative of Scars, just looking and listening to him, Scar would eat him for breakfast. Pausing for a moment, she didn't know what to really tell him.

"How about, you just stop here and keep those lionesses under control and shout out if Zira turns up, because if she does we;re in trouble"

Turning away Nala slowly and quietly moved into the darkness, making sure she had one side of the cave wall next to her for support. her eyes gradually got used to the shadows and she could see where she was going.
Coming closer, she could hear Scar's voice taunting the lion she had come to care for , yes, Fire and Simba looked similar , but they were so different as well, ooh Fire please don't listen to him .

Moving forward, she heard the clash of bodies fighting each other and claws scraping. Turning a small corner she stoped and she could see plainly Scar and Fire wrapped arund each other trying to inflict damage.

a few hours later Kyto was almost at Pride rock, he could see it clearier then ever. Kyto could see the lions, lionesses, birds. And Hyena's???. Kyto was shocked when he saw the hyena's. he thought hyenas and lions hated each other. Kyto flicked his tail and started walking up the steps to Pride rock. When Kyto got to the top of Pride rock and looked into the dark cave two lions were fighting.

Kyto said quietly to himself "I wonder why those lions are fighting?" Then a few hyena's suddenly surrounded Kyto. Kyto knew he couldn't fight all 4 of the hyena's. Kyto had to run, but where there were Hyena's every where. Kyto just ran down the steps of Pride rock and into the gorge. The Hyena's had stopped following him but he knew that if he went back he would be the next meal.

Kyto didn't know what to do. "What can i do i need help." Kyto layed down on the rough rocks and began to cry. " Maybe my dad is here, thats why my mom wanted to come here maybe?" Kyto's blonde fur looked like a dark brown now, Kyto hadn't been bathed in a long time. Kyto began to fall asleep on the rocks.

"Oh I'm sorry!" Afya called when she saw Remba. She hung her head realizing the cub might be hurt.

"I'm sorry I really am!" She said walking over. Suddenly remembering that Remba didn't like her she took a step back.

"I'm sorry Remba...excuse me" Afya said and then ran. Her fur was filthy again and her head hurt. Her fathers face... She sighed as she ran toward the gorge. She stopped at the sight of a dead lions body. So this must be the late Mufasa Afya thought to herself. Sighing she slowly walked away sick with the sight of vultures circling him. She got to some dry rocks and sat down on them. She spotted a cub sleeping on the rocks and sighed. Lowering her face to be level with his she smiled.

"Hey little cub. Wake up. What are you doing here?" Afya asked him, licking him to wake him up. She hoped he wasn't dead like other cubs she had heard off.

"My name is Afya. Do you have a name?" She asked him smiling to show her innocence. At least he doesn't prefer a mysterious cheetah to me...yet Afya thought to herself bitterly.

Kyto heard a voice and woke up suddenly "oh my name is Kyto is this your property cause if it is then ill go?" Kyto wiped the tears from his eyes. Kyto looked up and saw the lioness. Kyto got up and decided that he should go and talk to the king, but the hyena's. Kyto quickly changed his mind on what to do. "I better get going i still need to find a place to stay."

As Kyto was padding away his began to cry a little. When Kyto got out of the gorge he noticed that the Hyena's were waiting for him but this time there were even more. Kyto had to think of something quick of he would be dinner. Kyto sucked in a deep breath and let out a tiny growl.

"Mom Dad where are you, I need help?" Kyto called out. Kyto knew that his mom was dead, why did he call out that. Kyto began to back up as the hyena's got closer and closer.

(OOC: Sorry for posting again but I want Afya to be a hero. Oh and Kyto, word of advice, don't reply to this. Wait for other people to post. )

Afya watched the cub leave curiously.

"My property? I don't even have a home" She whispered. Watching Kyto walk away she sighed. Running after him she stopped when she saw him facing Hyenas. So Seleter was right Afya sighed to herself. Noticing the cub calling for his mum and dad she leaped in front of him growling. Her light creamy fur seemed to be a dark tan in the shadows of the gorge. She forgot how weak she was and snarled.

"Nobody hurts a tiny little cub!" She snarled and prepared for a fight. Her sharp green eyes darted back to Kyto before shooting back as a Hyena pounced. Using her speed as an advantage she dodged him with ease. He hurtled into a rock that had been slightly to the left of her. Pulling back with a hurting face, he ran off yelping.

"Come on then! Who wants to try next?" Afya snarled at them. Two females ran at her from opposite sides. She waited till they were far too close for comfort and then streaked forward. They banged heads and collapsed from the jolt. They got up onto uneasy feet and followed the first Hyena. Afya gave one final snarl and glared at the other Hyenas.

"What do you think you are? A Cheetah?" Asked the lead Hyena. Afya smirked.

"No...I'm Afya my dad killed my mother. But then I killed him" She said menacingly yet just quiet enough for Kyto to not hear her. The Hyenas eyes widened and they ran.

"We'll get you, you adolescent!" A stupid Hyena yelled. Afya turned to Kyto.

"So your parents are dead too? Like mine. I'm sorry I'm not done introducing myself. My name is Afya, I'm an adolescent and a rogue"

Seleter kept looking at Charlie, waiting for him to move so that the wound could be cleaned. She blinked, realizing he was staring at her, but before she could do anything the lion averted his eyes and moved to the water. She kept a close eye on him and what he was doing, barely noticing when Remba had appeared there. She didn't even mind when Charlie shook off the water and when some of the droplets fell on her face.

"AH!"

The golden cheetah was startled and she snapped her head around at the direction of the sudden noise, a low hiss escaping between her teeth. Said hiss stopped soon, however, once she realized it had been Afya who let out the yelp.

And then suddenly the lioness left. Seleter blinked her eyes, furrowing her eyebrows in confusion as to why Afya had to race off like that without even explaining what she was doing.

The sound of water caught her attention and she turned to watch Charlie walk past her. She flattned her ears momentarily, worry flickering in her eyes when he didn't look at her and instead just walked away and dissapeared into bushes. The worry deepened when she realized what he was doing, but before she could do anything he re-appeared and went to the water again.

Not really noticing what she was doing, the golden cheetah found her paws carry her to the dark lion. Next thing she knew she had lowered herself so that she could look at his face, and when he lifted his head he was watching her.
"Charlie..?"
She wanted to ask if he was all right, though she clearly saw he wasn't. What was worse was that she had no idea what she could do to help him.

Realizing the close proximity, Seleter blinked her eyes and turned her head away. She remained where she was, but she didn't want Charlie to notice the fact she was blushing. Partly she blamed her motherly instincts making her worry like this.. But the other part told her that maybe it was caused by something very different than that.

She did make up her mind about one thing though, which became clear when she turned to look at the king cheetah and Remba.
"We'll stay here for a while, and rest."
Because really, she didn't want to push Charlie on if simply walking made his condition as bad as this.

"Ah but little deary, no one here cares who you are."

A low chuckle could be heard as a figure stepped out of the shadows of the gorge behind Afya and Kyto. As the figure walked closer and the dust clouds Afya and the hyenas had created while fighting lowered, it was clear who the figure was.

"All we care about", Zira said as she circled around Afya and Kyto, "is that you are trespassing. And not only that, but you also hurt our troups.."
The stripe headed didn't even glance at the direction where the hyenas had fled. She'd deal with those cowards later...
"Your name has no meaning here. You're a worthless brat until proven otherwise."
She paused, smirking faintly as she kept circling the pair. Her blood red eyes shone with twisted amusement.
"Unless, of course, you die before that."

[Fire]

Fire and Scar had been battling it out for quite some time, it mostly just involved them going around in a circle with each other and giving each other leer eyes. It was almost as if it was a battle for dominance, yet... at the same time... it had interior motives intertwined like a spider web in a mesh of branches. The eyes of both of them seemed to burn a loathing for Scar... and a burning of lust for Fire... Fire's eyes having the lust for revenge.. wanting to take down the source of all this destruction.

"In all my years, Scar.. I have 'never' known anyone that has encircled themselves so tightly around a coil of lies as well as you have.. You think you're doing good to this land... these lionesses.. the animals that you rule over.. Such an illusion, you filthy scum..."

"Well, Fire.. You are right.. But things change.. and they will.."

That was the moment when Fire started to dash out of the opening of the cave, literally almost leaping out over the lioness's that were standing in the way. However... That didn't seem to be a smart move since he soon found himself free falling for about 4 feet in the air before landing on the ground and starting to roll down the rock, his body getting cut and bruised during this roll. Scar growled as he decided not to chase after him, but got amused and smirked as he watched the lion roll. "Idiot.. Be surprised if he gets out of there without anything serious done to him..." as the red-maned ball came to a stop on the hard dirt with a thud.. groaning slightly and feeling some pain in an area. just laying there and hoping that no one was chasing him,,

Nala pressed herself against the cave wall, as much as she wanted to help Fire, she knew the best thing was for her to stay put and unnoticed. Just as she turned away to make sure 'scars son' hadn't followed her in, the talking and fighting went quiet, and the red maned lion flew past her with dirt kicking up from his paws and disapeared from sight.

Crouching down low and hugging the wall in the dark shadows, Nala held her breath as Scar walked past her and headed in the same direction that Fire had gone.. out to the etrance of the cave, where possibly Zira and the scraggly half starved lioness were now waiting.

Waiting for a moment she got to her paws and carefully followed Scar, pausing a few times to listen in case anyone was coming back her way. Seeing the light getting brighter. Nala stopped, Scar was standing in the entrance, blocking her exit. Standing there she wasn't sure what to do, hopefully Fire wouldn't think she had left him and gone off, not moving she watched and waited, all she needed was Scar to keep moving so she could make her escape.

[Fire]

Fire had shaken his mane out and tried to stand up, only finding that there was a sharp pain in his right paw. F-Frick!!... That HURT!.. Oh no.. He had found that a sharp twig had lodged itself up into his paw and pierced through. Oh god, this is gonna hurt unlike anything I've had to deal with... Here goes.. Mmgh.. Mmhh.. Mm.. MAAHHH!!!.. OHH GOD! He was thinking all of this as he was pulling the twig backward since the grain of the wood was going with that direction, thus, the less chance for splintering and cuts within his paw. That oh god moment came when he finally slit out of his paw, putting it down onto the ground and covering it with lush foliage to put pressure on it, not believe how big the twig was. "D-Damnit.. I need help.. Scar will be looking for me.."

Scar looked from the top of the hill and then chuffed. "Hmmph, I don't much about that brat anymore.. He sounds so.. hmmph.. ignorant." Scar was sitting at the edge of the hill, being quite a ways away from the cave entrance and not paying attention to who went in and out of the cave...

Afya jumped as a lioness began to circle them. saying things that set a chill deep in Afya's bones. She crouched a bit to and tured on the spot following the circling lioness. She growled at her. As the lioness circled her she realised who she was. The wife of Scar, she presumed she was now the Queen. However Zira had never met her.

"I didn't harm them. I simply dodged their pathetic attacks!" Afya said with a cocky attitude that she had seen other adolescents use. "As for trespassing I was merely rescuing this cub. Why would I trespass on your filthy lands?" She said with a snarl. Keeping Kyto well hid she growled in warning.

"I have the speed of a cheetah, you look a lot heavier. Don't make me run from you. I can assure you, you'll eat my dust" Afya said getting into the position to run.

"I have heard of you and what you have done to these lands. Those mangy poachers kill for fun. To be honest I don't even want to hurt you. It wouldn't be worth it" Afya said with a smirk painted on her face. She glanced at Kyto. Then leaned down to him.

"Ready or not, here we go" She whispered and quickly grabbed him in her mouth by the scruff of his neck. She then shot forwards like a speeding Zebra. The wind created by her run blew through her coat and she gave a muffled sigh of contentment. Running was Afya's favourite activity. Shooting forwards she quickly made it to a spot with plenty of rocks. Afya knew it would slow her down but she began to scale the wall with Kyto still in her mouth. When she reached the top she shoved him up onto the grass and hauled herself up. She smiled at Kyto as she panted.

"So, still think that's my property?" She asked smiling with a small chuckle escaping her lips. She checked her surroundings and sighed.

"So where should we go from here? If you have no parents I'm going to watch out for you."

Nala's eyes narrowed as she watched Scar move further and further away from the cave entrance. Still crouching she slowly moved forward bit by bit, until sunlight was pouring down on her as well. Now where she was standing any of them could see her if they turned and looked in the right way.

Realising she had to move, the lioness decided to quietly go to the right of Scar, there was better protection from bushes until she got to the bottom to start to look for Fire.

Taking a breath, she slowly moved paw in front of paw until the cave was no longer behind her and she found enough grip on the ground, so she wasn't loosing her footing. Her heart was pounding as she kept expecting to feel a large paw strike her at any moment, at last she was on flat ground, and now she needed to find where Fire was and if he was badly hurt, or he had already made away.

Kyto felt a tug on the scruff of his neck and was pulled into the air inside Afya's mouth. Kyto kept his eyes closed because he was still scared from the hyena's and the lioness. When Kyto was put down on the grass he heard Afya ask "So where should we go now?"

Kyto replied with a sadness in his voice "Umm i don't know where are we?" A few tears shot down Kyto's face. "My mom said that my dad lived in Pride Rock, I never got to find him." Kyto started to cry but Kyto didn't want to show it so Kyto put his paws over his face and wouldn't let Afya see his face.

"I want my mom, why did my dad have to leave me and my mom after i was born." In Kyto's mind he thought it was his fault and that his moms death was his fault. Kyto just cried more and more on his dirty fur. Kyto's fur hadn't been cleaned in weeks, instead of blonde Kyto's fur was all muddy and brown.

Charlie lay there, for some reason he just felt exhausted, he couldn't really explain it, just having a badly cut paw, shouldn't be making him vomit and break out in hot and cold sweats, but he knew he wouldn't be going very far, all he wanted to do was curl up and sleep.

Standing there not really knowing what to do, when he heard Seleters voice come to him, telling them all they were going to rest. Gratitude flooded him, and he turned to her, smiling weakly, then slowly let himself drop right where he had been standing, and layed on his side, finding himself panting slightly and wanting to sleep.

Afya watched Kyto and knew he was crying. She had spent many nights crying when she had travelled with her family. Afya leaned down beside him and pulled him to her so he was cuddled up against her fur. Never in her wildest dreams had she dreamed that she would be cuddling a cub to her side whilst still an adolescent. She smiled at him to offer comfort.

"If your dad lives in priderock he's probably gone by now...Scar will have chased off all males" Afya said to him not mentioning that he would actually kill them. She listened to him and sighed.

"I'm assuming your mum was killed? Those Hyenas are a nasty lot. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I let you wander by yourself. So...I guess that means I'll be looking after you for a while." Afya said. She smiled and groomed him out of habit. She then stood up and checked her surroundings. She looked behind her at the gorge and then forward.

"No matter what you say we are NOT under any circumstances going to priderock. Scar is a killer." Afya said.

"You are at the top of the gorge. Lets go find some place to rest I think we'll nap in a tree" Afya told him. She slowly started walking in the direction of a big tree. She hoped that Kyto was walking beside her.

Kyto saw Afya walking towards the big tree so Kyto walked right behind her. "Ya my mom died by hyena's, but Afya who's scar?" After Kyto asked that question he had some tears still coming down his face. As Kyto was walking behind Afya he tripped on a skull of an animal; Kyto fell in a big puddle of mud.

Kyto was even dirtier then before "Afya if my dad was chased out of Pride Rock then where was he chased to?" Kyto looked down at the skull and ran right next to Afya crying on her shoulder.

"So where is the big tree you were talking about?" Kyto was trying to stop himself from crying, he would wipe his eyes with his muddy paws but then he had trouble seeing cause the mud would cover his eyes.

[Fire]

The red-maned lion had been all but too unwilling to move, despite the immense danger that presented itself to him if he didn't. His paw stung every time it hit the leaves that he had bound to his paw and his body was slightly exhausted from the fighting that had gone on earlier. Slowly, he made his way through the brush and the undergrowth, not expecting to find anyone but always keeping a good look out for anyone that was within his view.

After about ten minutes of just sulking around in the bush, he caught eye on a familiar figure that was kind of in the distance. He smiled as his eyes get a hold of a view of the unknown lioness's head, slowly making his way over and hissing in her general direction. "Pssst... Nala... Over here..." He says with a motion of his paw.

Remba sat there amazed when the silly girl lioness started running away, she had given them all a fright screeching like she had, and then didn't even bother staying around to tll them why.

Looking up at Dagger, the lion cub, just stared at him with her eyes wide, she didn't know what he was going to do, she knew her claws had dug into his skin, but he just stayed where he was. Remba got to her little paws and moved around to his front and stood there with her head lowered, trying to think what else to say, to try and say sorry for hurting him.

Moving slowly while sniffing the ground trying to catch Fire's scent, branches pulled at her fur, leaving little scratches long her sides and back.
where on earth could he have got to, he'd better not have just ruin off, or when I catch up to him, he'll have something to woery about.
Giving a small smirk to herself as she carried on , her head suddenly lifted at a sound that was directed her way.

Stopping, she kept herself hidden behind a large bush, tapping her paw wildly as she could see ants crawling all over them. Her ears twitched when she heard it again.
"Pssst". Moving her head to one side of the bush, Nala peered out.

Who should be there waiting but Fire, with a silly look on his muzzle.
"Nala... Over here."
Looking once over her shoulder she made her way towards him, her tail flicking around, till she came up to stand in front of him. She didn't know if she should hit him or lick him for making her so scared about what was going to happen to him when he was with Scar.

Instead Nala just stood there silent waiting for the red maned lion to be the one to speak first.

Afya looked toward her side in surprise to see Kyto there and he was crying again. She sighed with sadness. She looked behind her at the skull of the animal. She looked at him with pity when she realised how scared and alone he was.

"Hush it's ok Kyto. You're safe, it's just a skull." Afya said leaning down so her face was next to his. It was then that she realised just how alone they were. If anybody was nearby then they were an easy target. What have I gotten myself into? I can't protect a cub. Especially when I'm so unstable Afya thought to herself as she pressed her cheek to Kyto's.

She drew back with a face of disgust when she saw how messy he was. Afya put on a face of determination, all that mattered now was this cub. She would have to avoid fights, but she did that often anyway.

"Here" She said smiling and she wiped his eyes with her paw. She then lay down, even though the ground was muddy. She used her mouth to pull Kyto onto her back. "I'll give you a ride" She smiled at him. She then began to head toward the big tree again. Confident that Kyto would hang on she walked a tiny big faster. She began to answer all his questions.

"Scar...well I suppose seeing as you've seen Zira I can't stop you knowing. Scar is a bad lion. He turned my father against me and my mother. He has control of these lands and invited the Hyenas in. That's all I really know, a cheetah by the name of Seleter told me what little I know of what has happened so far." Afya said trying to sound brave. Yet the thought of her father brought tears to her eyes as she thought of her memories. She hadn't yet weeped for her mother, now was an odd moment but she started crying slightly.

"Your father...Well, he's probably run as far from here as he can to find another pride. Are you sure he lived in priderock, I believe that only Mufasa and Scar have lived in Priderock for a while. Mufasa is dead and Scar...Well Scar is not somebody I'd like to talk about" Afya said. Then tears started to burn her face and she noticed they had reached the big tree. She silently leaped up into it. She placed Kyto on a branch that was high and smiled.

"Those Hyenas won't hurt you here." She said smiling. She turned to look at the lands, then turned back smiling. Suddenly the full force of sadness hit her and she started shaking trying to hold back tears. Then slowly found herself succumbing to her grief she then sat down and started crying heavily.

"Kyto I promise, me crying isn't you fault. I've been through a lot recently. Like you my mother was murdered a little while ago." Afya said, whilst shaking heavily from her sobs.
