Magic has seeped its way into the pridelands while creatures struggle to survive. Clans soon arise from these battles to crusade their will upon others.Predator and prey soon take
sides. Who you can or cannot trust depends on your actions; some just don't like you and can perceive you as a threat.Others are just scared of you and want to stay alive.
Enter into these lands at your own risk.

The cool air whips around you as all of you lay down for a nights sleep, all of you different in everyway have decided to band together as a group and slumber soundly in a nice cave. The lions have taken position in front of the opening while the herbivores reside in the back to be hidden away. The grounds outside gleem with silver as the moon glows over the lands.
(You have survived a night)
Soon the game of tag will be over as the sun will be found and take its place in the sky.

As the sun takes its place in the sky, the other animals follow suit. Many neighs, roars, howls, and tweets begin to echo silently within the cave.
Rustling here and there, yawnings and stretches and more fill the cave.

Kupanuliwa and Mlezi were both still mostly asleep, unphased by distant sounds for the most part. It was difficult but not impossible to take either by surprise and with such low noise and no noticeable change in scents there was no reason for them to rustle Fully awake, at least not yet. An eye of each would drowsily peer out every so often for precious few seconds. Zabuni however was not quite so fortunate. The cave had a hard floor in most areas and tough ground elsewhere making digging a burrow quite laborious. Her hearing was the most sensitive of the herbivorous group at least as well as being the physically smallest out of the group entirely. Nuli and Mlezi could both run and fight back if needed. Zabuni however could only ever hope to run and hide. The slightest of disturbances made her hearing that more critical as she stared out into the rising sun to observe for movements that could be dangerous.
Complicating matters for the young lagomorph was 3 of her other companions of the Lion family. She wasn't the biggest of potential prey around, that would go to Mlezi, though she was fairly healthy and plump even for her age. Memory of how she ended up with such an odd companionship escapes her briefly for the time being. Though the felines do not seem malevolent nor bearing ill will she still cant help but feel uneasy when she sets her eyes upon them. She did not bare hate nor dislike of them, it was mostly just instinct. She could only hope her fears were unfounded as her nose would twitch and her eyes befell towards the thought of moving closer to Mlezi, a few muted hops here and there taken in decision.

Edit: Forgot this was an tabletop themed RPG for a few seconds and may have missed the more sequenced turned based order. Feel free to discard this post if I've posted out of a set turn order and if you do I'll just delete it and post another after everyone else has had their turn.
----------------- ----------------- -----------------
"Pssst. Mleeeziii...Kupanuliwaaaaa....wake up. It's morning" Zabuni would whisper to each of them. "Time to get up. Come onnnn" she would continue to plead with them. Kupanuliwa was the first of her personal pleas to arise with a stretch and yawn. He turned towards the hare, not angry, more of a grouchy demeanor. "It was such a nice dream you interrupted...you know that?" He'd respond. Zabuni's ears would droop at the brief mention. "Sorry, but we really shouldn't waste the daylight while we still have it I guess." she responded, not looking the okapi in the eye directly.
"The morning is young, we have plenty of time. No need to get all worked up about it." The Okapi would orate in response.
A small groan could be heard from Mlezi as the ground crunched under his movements. Deep breaths of inhalation and exhalation as his eyes began to flutter open. "Zabuni..."
"I already gave her that Talk Mlezi." replied Kupanuliwa. "No, not that. How long have you been awake Zabuni?" Mlezi would say.
"Since the sun was beginning in its rise, maybe a little above." "Then why did you not wake me...or us then?" "I thought it would make people mad?" She would reply, ears drooping a bit further. "You'll have plenty of time to sleep in the afterlife. Now is the time for activity" the Buffalo would respond as he gave himself an early morning shake up.
"But what about the lions?" She pondered again. "We can give them a bit more time perhaps?" Kupanuliwa chimed with a head nudge. "Indeed. Lions are fairly heavy sleepers, best not to draw their ire in that regard. Especially if we're traveling with them. The last thing we need right now is antagonism" Mlezi would further add.
Foraging was important, though there was no shortage of grasses and herbs to feast on at least on the way over here. They operated under the assumption that it could remain at least decently so across the remainder of the pridelands and that this strange recent phenomena had not affected it too much. For now, they would remain silent, listening and observing for any potential threats.

The first thing that woke Figgy up was his stomach. Actually, that wasn’t quite true. Despite the growling of his stomach Figgy still wasn’t completely awake. It was only when he reached forward to where he kept his pre-breakfast snack, grabbing hold to find the first available thing and putting it in his mouth – THEN realising that it was nothing but a dry bone, did Figgy truly wake up. His stomach kept on growling. “Ugh, he said, stretching on his side. He could smell food, and it was fresh. Only when he opened his eyes did he realise it was his herbivorous travelling companions, all murmuring to themselves in conspiratorial tones. It would be so easy just to go down and take a quick nip – surely Zabuni didn’t need both his ears, did he? – but instead he huffed into the dust and resolved himself to catch something, or someone, else. So he kept the bone in his mouth as he sat up, chewing on it for some sense of comfort. Arty was only a short ways out of the den’s entrance, soaking up the morning light with the leaves sprouting from his vines. With just a thought Figgy had the little grass-and-bone puppet transformed from a jumble of bones and twigs to a swift little skeleton. He had it sit beside him as he examined his other companions – the sandy-coloured lioness named Atiya and the dark lioness named Shade. Both of them only adolescents, so just a bit younger than him. Both of them the exact opposites in terms of their abilities. Blue eyed Atiya seemed to get her powers of healing from above, but Shade’s ruby-red and black eyes drew power from a darker source. Both of them seemed reasonably sensible. Both of them made him feel extremely awkward. He didn’t like the idea of waking either. Not from so close, anyway. And the herbivores were looking at him funny. So he stepped out of the cave and into the morning sunlight, little leafy skeleton Arty in tow. “So, Arty,” he said, looking about. “What’s for breakfast today? Zebra? Buffalo? Okapi?” He suddenly realised the significance of the last two. “Orrrr maybe we can tangle a crocodile?” He looked about. Largely, his meal would depend on the landscape. What did he see?

Shade grunted, she was asleep a bit away from the others, she was having a good dream, until, the Mlezi woke up her, she got up and said ''Ugh, i was having a good dream, however, i was hungry anyways...''She paused for a moment yawning and showing her large tooth, then streched her dark body, looked at Figgy and said ''Hey, Figgy, why we don't go out, and search for something to eat?'' Shade stared at met Figgy's green gaze, in any resonse of him.

"Sure," Figgy said with a smile, surprised that the black lioness had come out to speak with him. Pleasantly surprised. And a little nervous under the gaze of those ruby-red eyes. "Uh, what do you feel like?"

Shade smiled back, a bit and said '''Let's go out, to search for something, there must be zebras or gazelles'' she could feel the fear of Figgy but said nothing, she beckoned him, and got out of the cave.

Figgy and shade both got up to seize the day and a meal, as they looked outside from within their cave, they saw many a animal near the entrence. The closest were a few smaller creatures and a warthog eating grass and wandering freely.

"What... Oh," Figgy said, then crouched down beside Shade. Well, more like sat on his oversized stomach. He could see the warthog up ahead, a good sprint away (for a much thinner lion or lioness. "You go," he whispered. "I'll use my magic to tangle it up." With that he lifted his head. Subtly, the grass started to twist and wrap itself around the warthog's hooves.

The trio would watch as a pair of the lions marched out of the cave, each showing the signs of classical hunger. Though Kupanuliwa and Mlezi would maintain their mostly neutral looks, Zabuni still maintained a much clearer sense of doubt about her.
Kupanuliwa sighed, "I personally think you're being too hard on them to be quite honest Zabuni. Especially Figaroa. Yes he's quite the large fellow but I don't see any malice within his posture."
"I can't help it", the lady hare would protest, "I'm just very nervous right now is all. I'm not trying to be mean to figgy or the others I swear, but I mean...who would be able to tell if I had left or was taken?".
The Okapi would lower his head, "Figaroa could probably hide you much easier than the other two, but you're still being quite unreasonable to him in my opinion."
Mlezi would frown and shake his head, "Apparently joining a small group of lions is fine but traveling with them is the true issue? When even an Okapi is telling you to calm yourself, I have to say it doesn't reflect well on you Zabuni. I'm not exactly thrilled myself but you can't exactly expect to hold against them their nature. You would have the same look or reaction to relatively decent food nearby."
Zabuni furrowed her brows, seemingly at small risk of alienating most to a degree. "I'm not a bad hare am I?"
"Of course not", Kupanuliwa responded with a shake of the head, "You're the most vulnerable among us. It is somewhat understandable to be nervous about the whole thing. However you can't really claim the instinct defense as highly when you kind of walk into this whole thing willingly. You did have a choice not to come.
"What do you think I should do?" She would as the Okapi.
"I think first thing's first, we should all grab some breakfast. After that, we can all come back, wish each other a good morning. Show them that we don't think bad of them. As Mlezi said, making friends is important in a group." the Okapi would reply as he began to look outwards for grasses and herbs to eat.
Mlezi would shake his head, signaling at least a partial disagreement. "I agree that we shouldn't try to antagonize them intentionally or otherwise. However, friendship is not some magical concept that transcends biology. Respect is the most effective tool but it should ultimate be governed by the reasoning in any given situation".
Zabuni would simply listen as the two larger herbivores spoke at this rate. Maybe they were right and she simply needed to stop worrying. After all if she was truly in danger would she have survived the night even? All this pondering was intensive and making her even hungrier.
"Let's agree to disagree and agree to find some breakfast before too long, sound good?" The Okapi would propose. "Fine by me" came the reply from the buffalo. "Me too" The female hare would perk up slightly, following her two companions in making their exist outside the cave to forage for some grasses, plants and fruits.

Once Figgy saw that Shade was in striking distance and that his grassy tendrils were in place, he squeezed them tight, hopefully immobilising the warthog. He heard it squeal and sat up, watching for Shade to do her part and catch it. And kill it.

Last to awaken of the group, Atiya rolled onto her side as the dreamscape around her now-conscious mind vanished in an instant. Many times she found it hard to awaken from such unusual and interesting dreams that she tended to have, and this morning was no exception for her. Yawning widely, she could hear the herbivores among her companions speaking among themselves before leaving for breakfast. A quick scan around the cave, and it seemed as though the other lions decided to do the same.
She didn't want to assume, but the thought that Ziggy's hunger might have coaxed Shade did come to mind. Then again, had Ziggy not done so, Atiya surely would have. Though the dark lioness had an unsettling air to her, both from eldritch powers and even appearance alone, Atiya felt she could stand up to her if she went turncoat and decided to go after the wrong sorts of prey -- namely her prey-species partners.
Shaking her head a little, the young lioness felt it best not to entertain those types of thoughts, either. All she knew was that she herself was hungry and, taking it upon herself to get up and catch something for breakfast, settled upon doing so. She'd give her regards once her prey was out of commission, and offer a quick prayer to Anubis to guide the fallen meal to the afterlife safely, and it would be another day for her. It was second nature for a predator, but one that the mystical lion couldn't help but feel mixed feelings about sometimes. After all, she could clearly understand the species she preyed upon.

(OOC: I hope we don't have to enter a lengthy battle for EVERY meal).
Figgy sighed. He should have wrapped the vines around the warthog's middle. And what was Shade doing? He couldn't see her through the long grass. Not that he was worried, much. It wasn't often that food came charging AT you. Not that this warthog was that big. Figgy's stomach felt shrivelled just looking at it. He was definitely going to need to catch something else afterwards. Figgy stood up. His eyes focused on the grasses around the warthog, which came alive, whipping and clinging in a frenzy designed to snare the warthog at any opportunity. The grass lashed at the warthog's eyes, decreasing it's vision and grabbing at its legs and waist. "If only I could eat grass," Figgy said as Arty charged past him to enter the fray, and behind him a mound of vines and leaves (and the occasional white of bone) lumbered to its feet. "I could just lie down and make it wriggle straight into me." More and more grasses wrapped together into twine, and then those wrapped together into ropes, which wove through each other and made a net at Figgy's feet.

The warthog frantically tries to escape the tendrils, missles soon go flying and one manags to hit the cave. The cave shakes and rocks heavily. The cave looks like it will collapse soon. Another missle manages to barrel towards figgy and explode a few feet in front of him.The impact sends figgy backwards with a load ringing in his ear. (Figgy gains a perk:temp hearing loss ) Other missles soon shoot out in all directions, one wizzes past shade and another almost hits a group of zebras. OOC: you didnt think i'd make you work for your food. and this isnt even a boss battle. Macam there is no such thing as a free lunch--well in your case breakfast. Someone has to pay the bill and the warthog doesn't want to pay.

(OOC: It's your RP so you can do it however you want. Maybe I'm just a weird RPer in that I find battles really tedious unless the outcome is significant to the plot (and the job of the GM is to keep the story flowing). Sure, eating is important for lions IRL but it isn't for The Lion King (when do we see lions eat anything but bugs?), and most fantasy stories are not about eating, so I'd prefer not to focus on it (especially given how much Figgy eats). That said if everyone else really wants to battle every meal to the death then I'll play along I suppose).

Shade angrily run towards the warthog and jumped over it bitting it, and using her dark power to stop it, and then fall. At the warthog hit the cave she yelled ''Atiya, Zabuni!'', Shade sink her claws and used a dark fire ball to burn the prey, Shade hit the warthog's flank and make it fall.

OOC:i see what you mean. However i do need that warthog for something else though.
The warthog is down but not out and instead manages to use a portal and limps to safety. However, he has dropped a nifty bag which smells like food.
The smell is some sort of meat, possibly fried by the renegade missles.

Zabuni's ears would flare up as she heard her name ring through the air. It sounded like shade but for what reason was she being called? Even the Okapi and buffalo were somewhat curious as to the reason she was singled out. None of them would have to wait very long as the cave was struck within a minute of multiple projectile like objects.
"What was that!?" Kupanuliwa would exclaim. "Somebody not wanting to be breakfast" Mlezi would begrudgingly respond. "Look! The Cave! What about Atiya?" Zabuni would interject. "You and Mlezi stick around for foraging, maybe find us a nice spot or so like we talked about, I'll go check out the cave." The Okapi answered as he turned to begin sprinting back.
"But I'm faster!" Zabuni would cry as she also began to turn around. "And I'm bigger and decently fast, so stay with Mlezi and I'll catch up. Give me a signal or something!" Kupanuliwa would yell back as he ran towards the cave to check if Atiya had woken up or not.
Zabuni again begrudgingly stayed against her better intent and began to follow Mlezi as the pair otherwise searched for the better of the grasses within a reasonably close distance. Today was just not seemingly her day.

Shade saw how, everything around her, was getting darker and then just darkness, she couldn't saw anything, Shade was alive, but it she seemed death.

Through the chaos of arcane battle, Atiya found herself paralyzed as the cave trembled about her. Not from any sort of witchery, but merely from fear had she locked up. Once the warthog vanished, however, Atiya scrambled out with the assumption that the coast was clear. Once outside of the cave, the first thing she saw was a weakened Shade, collapsed under pieces of the ravaged cavern's exterior. With nothing more than a gasp from her, she bolted forth and, putting her weight into the lunge, tried to knock the rubble off of Shade's body.
Given enough loosening up, she then proceeded to grab Shade in her paws and, with a few moments' effort, managed to pull her free. Panting, the tawny lioness knew she wasn't done quite yet. Laying her paws upon Shade, Atiya murmured a few quick, clipped phrases. Within moments' notice, Atiya managed to cast a spell of healing upon her ally, restoring vigor to her and mending some of the physical abuse she'd taken from the collapsing rock.
Now winded, Atiya panted for a few moments. "...wh-what was all that?" she asked, trying to regain her own strength. "What happened...?"

"Well, that wasn't so bad," Figgy said sarcastically, with a cheeriness he didn't feel. He shook his head to clear the ringing, which didn't work of course. He went over to the bag and sniffed it, then turned his nose up - whatever was in the bag certainly wasn't fresh anymore. He wondered why a warthog would be carrying around a bag of meat, but chose to leave it there. Who knew where it came from or what had been done to it by the magic-flinging porcine?
He gathered up the grassy net he'd made in the fight, then wandered back to the cave, Arty in tow. Atiya was tending to an unconscious Shade. Figgy walked up and put his paw on her flank tenderly. Though his hearing was damaged - for how long he didn't know - he could see Atiya's lips move as she asked what happened.
"We tried to attack a warthog, who attacked us with magic," he said, stomach still growling. He felt like growling himself. He settled down beside the pair, absently making a blade of grass twirl beneath his finger. "I loved magic when I first got it. I love it less now that my prey has it." Looking up he saw the Okapi emerge from the cave and look around. Well, he could do one good deed at least. Using his magic, Figgy tore up several strips of grass several feet wide and several dozen yards long, so the grass rolled itself up into nice, neat, green bales. "Here you go, stripey," Figgy said. "Breakfast for you and your friends." Looking down at Atiya and Shade, he could see the injured lioness was in good company. So he said, "I'm going to find another meal. Something bigger than a warthog. Once she's well if you could follow my scent and help out I'd appreciate it, just in case I run into a wizard zebra or something."
With that he trotted off away from the cave. (OOC: Balto, I'd really like a good description of this place if that's ok. Are we in the savannah? Is it flat? Rolling hills? Any trees? Any sources of water? What's in the distance? Mountains? A river anywhere in sight? What's a comprehensive list of the animals Figgy can see?)
