Looks pretty awesome actually. I do wish the dialogue was a bit more clever (and I hate the giggling as they're chasing one another), but the animation is excellent, the colours are bright, and the premise looks intriguing. What more could you want? My thoughts exactly. The unnecessary giggling in cartoons is always annoying to me.

Did anyone else notice what Bunga said? Or did I miss this in the recent updates? Bunga: "Ya' know what my Uncles always say!Kion: "Hakuna matata." So Timon and Pumbaa are Bunga's Uncles!

Here's a video of the event at the D23 floor, with TLK Producer Don Hahn, TLG Executive Producer Ford Riley, and Singer/Song writer Beau Black The most interesting part of this video happens when Ford Riley gets up the stage (at 6:00) . He shared some new backstory elements that links The Lion Guard with the first movie! I don't have a transcript, but I summarized what he said. Here's a few pointers: -The traditional role of the second born cub of the King is to lead the Lion Guard. -The Lion Guard team's responsibility is to protect the Pridelands and the Circle of Life. -The leader of the Guard has to choose the fiercest, bravest, fastest, strongest and keenest to be members. -Kion is the fiercest, and is given a gift called Roar of the Elders. When he uses it, all the great lions of the past roar with him. -Before Simba was born, Scar was the leader of the Lion Guard. He too had the power of the Roar of the Elders. -The Roar of the Elders got so much into Scar's head that he thought that with that kind of power he should be King of the Pridelands instead of Mufasa. -Scar ordered his Lion Guard members to help him take down Mufasa. But when they refused to do so, Scar used the Roar of the Elders to destroy them. -By using the Roar of the Elders for evil, Scar lost the power completely, and became the shribble, horrible lion we know. -When we first meet Kion, he hasn't heard of the Roar of the Elders or the Lion Guard. This pretty much confirms that the Roar of the Elders is a supernatural power that can be used for good or evil. I know not every fan will like that it's a fantastical element, but personally I find it fascinating, especially the backstory behind it. Later in the video we meet Beau Black, who wrote and sings the song we hear in the preview clip. At the end of the video, He performs what I believe is The Lion Guard's main theme. I just want to say that I friggin' love it!

BIG PROBLEM! I had captured something I see that I am not happy about, look at Simba, not a very clear shot but Simba DOES NOT LOOK RIGHT!

That looks like Scar. I'm guessing that's what Scar was supposed to look like. Then got all dark and lanky as a physical representation of his corruption.

Nah I'm pretty sure it's Simba with a coloration error around his mane/throat area.

Aww haha xD I gotta love that Kion in this clip is actually a well behaved cub, in comparison with the recklessness of both his dad and his sister as cubs. He thinks twice about going down to outlands territory to retrieve the cantaloupe, this is a kid that actually listens to his dad and knows when something is just too dangerous, I bet cub Simba would have acted just like Bunga, brave, but stupid. At the same time, Kion must really hate being called fraidy cat when all he does is being smart, it might not be the first time someone calls him that, maybe one day that'll get to his head and will make him do something reckless, but... who knows (gawd, am I overanalyzing this? xD). But he wouldn't leave Bunga behind, he's brave when he needs to be. Yes, Kion is definitely a mini-Mufasa ^^ Oh and someone came up with the best explanation for Kion's powers... Midichlorians! (that didn't work for Star Wars, though ><)

A note on Kovu from a person who briefly worked on The Lion Guard. Credit to "laughable-lion-king-art" on tumblr for the find:
Just decided to delete the image, because the notes on the language and the very good questions to the actual legitimacy of it made it seem reasonable enough to remove.

That strikes me as the wrong attitude to have actually. People are already invested in this show - this is good! Calling them a while bunch of effwits seems rather silly and needlessly alienating. If you've got a whole bunch of people saying they'd like to see this character then make them do a cameo, or something! Please the fans if you can do it without compromising the quality of the show. I don't appreciate the swearing either. He works for Disney, for crying out loud. That said this probably wasn't meant to be widely published.

Yeah I highly doubt this guy ever worked for Disney. Can we confirm that he did? I'm very skeptical. Because if he worked for Disney at all when he wrote this, you can be sure he's not working for them any more. This is terrible PR. Dude could would have gotten fired for saying this.
That being said, he brings up the one point that makes any sense towards Kovu being in TLG. Kiara has been mentioned, therefore, Kovu must be in it too.
Edit: Not a huge fan of whoever runs this tumblr blog. He seems like a real judgmental prick and his followers reflect it. Every other post is him or his followers making fun of other fandoms.

I understand the person's frustration though, whether it's a legitimate source or not. I'm pretty tired of the negative overreactions to everything Lion Guard and I find that a lot of said reactions are ridiculous :/ But it's not a pretty post, that one. From the language, it sounds like the owner of the blog could have written it herself, hah.

Yeah, some people go really overboard with their negative comments, I can see where this person is coming from >< But claimimg to have worked on TLG and making a post like this sounds too unprofessional. While I agree that with Kiara being in the show it's only logical that Kovu will show up eventually, I still don't think that post is legit.
Whatever he case might be, maybe it's not such a good idea to have that image lying around in this forum, which younger users have access to :/ I'd suggest to either have it removed or edit it into a link with a warning for swearing.

That's most likely unofficial stuff in fact I'd take a gander and say it's written by an upset blogger, as many stated the PR backlash for this guy would've ended with a terminated job. So I doubt it's someone from Disney.
Slightly off topic; I always hear talk about young users but who is our youngest active members anyways? xD I know we're a site based on PG movie but still just curious.
