That was the first thing that hit me, that he looked somewhat Mufasa-ish. But I reckond that is intentional lol!

And Nala's eyes are an injustice that has long needed rectifying. Somebody call a medic, we need some burn cream. (by the way, do I have to trademark you on this if I decide to use it IRL, because that is gold) Haha! Use away XD

Just rewatched the 'Return of the Roar' and...... the ending music gave me goosebumps. It sounds so happy and triumphant! It kind of reminds me of the ending of The Lion King. Oh man, I hope this is good!!!

More casting news, according to this article, including Kiara I just looked up Eden Riegel, and she's 34, which means we'll have an adult Kiara in TLG! I'm quite relieved about that ^^ still no sign of Kovu, though

Oh man, I hope this is good!!! Yes! The music is soooo good! I have always been in love with African music. In fact, it's for this reason that I got into TLK. Kovu Ok here's my theory on Kovu. I really doubt he's dead, so why are they not mentioning him? It's because he's a surprise. Maybe throughout the show it's explained that he's away for some reason. Scouting or whatever. Lions tend to do that. So later on in the show, Kion and his friends get in some huge trouble. Then, when all seems lost, Kovu shows up out of nowhere and saves them. BOOM! Suddenly, thousands of 10 year olds become uncomfortably attracted to this:

I don't think he's dead either, but I really just hope they mention him in the show somewhere. I really like your idea! That would be really cool if he showed up as a hero, saving Kion and his friends. (Also, even if this is on Disney Junior, I hope it has some slightly more mature elements. *crosses fingers* I can only hope.)

Lmao, Lyonize! But yeah, I too think Kovu will make an appearance sooner or later in the show (if not in the movie). I wonder if the Return of the Roar will begin with the traditional introduction with Rafiki lifting newborn Kion to show him to the kingdom... maybe with a new song on par with Circle of Life and He lives in You. That would be really cool Also, I just realized Ono, the "intellectual egret", is Brick from The Middle. I like that kid, great choice! xD he has a good voice for the part. I believe he's the one that appears in the second clip, he does sound like him

I do really wanna see Kovu and Kiara in the new style! I love it, it's similar to the old TLK with some marked differences I really like. Though Kovu and Kiara may be absent because they're the older kids busy being a family or in training to be king/queen, kinda like how they did with Blue's Clues and Steve off "going to college". At least, I think they'll use a similar excuse if they end up being absent. But we'll just have to wait and see.
I'm excited that there are some main characters that aren't lions, though! I mean, I love my lions, but it's nice that there are some different species in the spotlight.

I'm curious to see Kiara and hopefully Kovu too. I'll openly admit for a cartoon lion he's pretty damn hot haha.
I hope Mufasa speaking in the clouds isn't too often though, Pulsar, his brother and I were talking about it yesterday and we had, like, a mutual agreement that it would ruin the touching one off moment that was in TLK if Mufasa always speaks from the clouds etc.

I love the animation it looks really good! I do agree with that roar being hyperbolic lol! Tho I just can't shake the fact of how.. well how serious an instiution the Lion Guard actually is. Considering it's composed of animals that are essentially kids and their opponents are also kids(those hyenas were definitly pups), I think the Lion Guard is the name of a club, a little-kids gang and nothing serious like a literal special-tasks operation force in the Pridelands XD You'd never let something like that being lead by someone who is essentially a 11-12 year old lol! I know I might be really late to this revelation, but still xP My guess would be that the Lion Guard is an actual institution, but Kion, knowing he is going to lead it one day, has adopted the name and applied it to a little kids gang (sort of like they are playing pretend).

If it is as you say Abalancedbreakfast, I bet Kovu is the leader of the /real/ Lion Guard and that's why we won't see or meet him. Cuz the Lion Guard don't stick around Pride Rock.

It seems like you may have come up with an explanation. However, wouldn't Kovu be training up to be king by that point?

Kovu will /not/ be King, he'd be a Queen's consort(totally different thing) since he's married into a royal family and more importantly of peasant blood. I utterly hate the myth that anyone marrying a crown princess, who when she becomes Queen the male automatically becomes a ruling King, they don't! Otherwise the current Queen Elizabeth II of England's husband would be a King, but he ain't. lol As a Queen's Consort Kovu would not get the rule of the Kingdom even if/when the Queen eventually dies, unless it's stated /specifically/ that they will rule co-jointly, which has its own set of rules, even if Kovu will then bear the title of King, the Queen is still ranked above her husband, and the supreme leader of her Kingdom. But rather as a Queen's consort in wake of the Queen's death he'd be a widower, kinda like a male Queen Mother. And the throne will pass to his eldest offspring. *takes a deep breath* Sorry about the rant. But that myth just ticks me off! ^^' I stand with the fact that he leads the real Lion Guard.

I like your point of view, Leto ^^ Then again, Kiara didn't want to be queen in SP when she was a cub, assuming she still doesn't want to, and now that she has a brother prince, who knows, maybe she'll abdicate

Kiara has a rebellious, but kind personality. I think she could mature into a good ruler.

Looks pretty awesome actually. I do wish the dialogue was a bit more clever (and I hate the giggling as they're chasing one another), but the animation is excellent, the colours are bright, and the premise looks intriguing. What more could you want?
