Need A Little Excitement;; (private Vitalini)

[Zoketi]

He nodded as she spoke. "That sounds like a good plan." Korongo murmured, smiling slightly at her. He lifted his head and glanced around again. "Pick a direction?" he chuckled, returning his green gaze to Nashana.

[Vitalini]

"Mmmm this way." She smiled and took off the the west

[Zoketi]

"Okay!" he rumbled, swishing his tail. He jumped into a trotting pace and headed after her, his head lifted. Korongo matched her pace, sliding into a gait alongside the lioness. He wasn't quite sure how to start a conversation so he left it quiet at first, enjoying the peace of the morning.

[Vitalini]

Nashana smiled as they moved along together, "So what do you do gto have fun when youre alone?"

[Zoketi]

At her question, he flicked his gaze towards her and considered for a moment. "Well, I enjoy chasing prey--giving them a good scare." He smirked slightly. "And, sometimes I play little counting games....the types of trees I pass, or how many vultures are circling ahead." Korongo shrugged slightly. "But, sometimes I just get bored."

[Vitalini]

Nashana smiled, "I could understand that. But hopefully with two of us we won't get bored." She grinned and jumped up on a rock.

[Zoketi]

"I would think not!" Korongo laughed, watching her. He waggled his tail and then leaped up onto the same rock. It was hardly big enough to hold them both, and he jostled into her accidentally. "Grr!" he purred, batting at her side to gently try to knock her off.

[Vitalini]

"Hey!" She laughed batting at him playfully, "I'm Queen of this rock Buddy. "

[Zoketi]

The young male scrabbled at the rock to keep his balance. "Not for long!" he teased, bumping his head into her side and bracing his hind paws against the stone to support him. It was nice to play like a cub again.

[Vitalini]

Nashana stumbled back falling slightly but then she laughed and playfully lunged at Korongo. She landed on top of him, "Pinned ya." She smiled down at him

[Zoketi]

He prepared another attack but she was too fast, and he rolled back underneath her. Blinking, he grinned up at the lioness. "So you have." he grumbled in fake anger. He swatted a paw gently at her nose. "Gerroff me, silly." he chuffed.

[Vitalini]

She grinned and jumped off him.

[Zoketi]

Korongo rolled to his paws and straightened, shaking his tan fur. Tossing his half-grown mane, he trotted forwards. "You hungry?" He queried lightly, glancing to Nashana with a smile.

[Vitalini]

"Starved." She laughed, "Any ideas?"

[Zoketi]

He lifted his head and surveyed the savannah. Distant herds of prey marbled the landscape. "There's some antelope over there...and then some hartebeest that way," he offered, flicking his tail in each direction as he spoke.

[Vitalini]

Nashana licked her muzzle, "mm antelope sound good."

[Zoketi]

"Works for me!" Korongo rumbled, fixing his gaze on the ungulates that lingered around the scrubby bushes and trees not too far away. In particular, these antelope were a mixed group of thompson's gazelle and steenbok. Flicking is ears, the male lion slid forwards and pause to let his gaze drift over them, searching out a potential weakness.

[Vitalini]

Nashana stood beside him and smiled. Her body tense yet relaxed at the same time. Her eyes narrowed in on a medium sized buck. Her ears laid back. She moved forward.

[Zoketi]

Korongo had picked out a small steenbok doe who lingered near the edges of the group. He flicked his tail and slunk forwards, picking up speed until he sprang through the grass. The herd scattered with shrill cries. The young lion weaved through, keeping his gaze fixed on his target as she bounded away. Closing in, he leaned forwards and prepared to pounce. When he did he sent both himself and the doe crashing down with the momentum. Korongo came to a halt and snapped his jaws down to close them over the doe's muzzle to cut off her air supply. He held still until she perished, then lifted his head and stayed still to catch his breath.

Nashana moved forward, the buck in her sight. She was too fixated on her prey to realize that Korongo had taken down a smaller animal. If she had, she would not have went for this one. She hated to show off. At the moment her only thought was that this one would feed both of them. She figured he would eat and she would do the hunting. She took the buck down, easily breaking its neck.

[Zoketi]

Korongo glanced over, watching as the lioness targeted and tackled a male. His ears pricked in mild surprise, he licked his muzzle and sat down, figuring she was managing on her own. The male lifted each paw and swiped them with his tongue, then flicked his tail patiently. He clasped the doe around its neck and began to drag it towards where Nashana and her kill were.

[Vitalini]

Nashana looked up in surprise, "Oh, I'm sorry Korongo. I didn't realize you were going to hunt. I meant this for both of us."

[Zoketi]

He tilted his head. "It's alright. I didn't see why I shouldn't help out. I've been hunting this whole time for myself, so..." he shrugged with a small smile. "I guess we'll have plenty, then." he churred quietly, glancing from the two carcasses. Already scavengers were circling above. Korongo assumed they'd take their fill, then as usual let the other animals of the savannah claim the kills.

After they had finished their meal, Nashana laid down in the soft grass and sighed contentedly. The jungle trees cast a comforting shade overhead and she enjoyed reveling in the beauty of it all. She looked over at Korongo and smiled.

[Zoketi]

He pushed away the doe and licked his muzzle, watching the crowds of vultures and the like descend to feast upon the remains. Scooting away, he relaxed down near the lioness. Korongo yawned in contentment, and flexed out his paws. He watched Nashana and grinned back at her. "Enjoying yourself?" he rumbled.

[Vitalini]

"Ive never felt so at peace in my entire life." She smiled and then looked up at him, her eyes locking into his, "Thank you."

[Zoketi]

Korongo tilted his head and his eyes softened. "I'm glad." he rumbled warmly, slightly touched. "You're welcome, for whatever I've done." he churred, flicking his tail and crossing his paws in front of him neatly.

[Vitalini]

"You gave me a chance at life. You got me out of such a horrible situation and I just... I dont think I'll ever be able to thank you for this."

[Zoketi]

"Ah...I suppose I did." Korongo shifted slight, ears twitching. His smile remained, and he flexed out his paws towards her lightly. "Well, I'm only glad to have helped." he rumbled softly.

She smiled once more and then closed her eyes. She was soon asleep
