Kala smiled at the sweet scene. Well, this looked like one of the times that Nuri was going to be nice. Her ears perked up as she heard Wingu return and ask if he'd met Akira before. Maybe he knew something about her past! She listened intently.

Akira clumsily tripped then as if nothing had happened lied down. She tried hard to avoid looking Nuri in the eyes; she only wanted to respect her wishes. Respect made the best acquaintances and friends. "Sorry, it's habit to look at who I'm talking to.." She stared down at the ground then her ears darted towards the sound of Wingu's voice.
"I have no idea. I had spotted multiple lions prior to all of you but I was too scared to approach.." She thought about earlier, "I don't want them to think I'm scared of everyone, I've just never been outside of 'my own world'. Her 'own world' was her family and territory. Akira was never taught about all the dangers in the world so she didn't know who to avoid and who to approach, in fact she didn't know much of anything.
She looked over at Kala, strangely enough she felt safe here. She did not feel welcomed from Nuri nor Wingu, but had felt like she had a place there by Kala's warm welcome. A small ray of happiness had loomed over her just as shadows had in the day. A humble smile had appeared on her face, but almost quicker than lightning it had disappeared.

Nuri was dozing when she heard a noise in the nearby tree. Looking up, she noticed a Bird. She smiled, Birds had always been an amusing prey, not many lions would choose it as their first preference, but being much of a loner, she had gotten used to the challenge. She had just eaten, but the reminder was nice enough.
"Why aren't you sitting with Kala?" Nuri asked curiously.

Akira's ear twitched and she quickly glanced back at Nuri then looked back at Kala. Her eyes filled with thought and loneliness, "Well, as comforting as she is I was curious as to who you are... And you seemed... Lonely." Did she just make a mistake? She did not want Nuri to hate her because she had just called her lonely, she was only explaining herself. Should she stay laying down and look as if she is at ease? Or should she back away?

Kala watched the interaction between them interestedly. She could tell Akira was frozen with indecision. Yet again, her eyes took on that far-away, spaced-out look. She really hoped no one noticed. She didn't want to explain.
(OOC: Akira, I find it really interesting that your character's name is pretty close to Kala's daughter's name. Her daughter's name is Kira. Pretty crazy, huh?)

Nuri looked at the lion cub interestingly, "Perhaps, I prefer it that way?" She said coolly with a chuckle. She stood and wandered off, "I'm thirsty." She called, Confirming that she was coming back.

OOC: No problem Haha) Who prefers to be lonely? Akira didn't even know that was emotionally possible. A look of confusion flashed upon her face as she stood up, "Prefer? Lonely?" She watched as Nuri wandered off into the distance to fetch herself something to drink; in the meantime Akira would hold conversation with Kala. Who were all these lions'/lionesses? "Certainly they have homes as well? she thought to herself. "What about their families?" Akira continued to think about all the questions that had flooded her mind. How long has everyone here known each other? What is their backgrounds? Do they wish to share? She even wondered about their age. Her mind was racing against itself, it kind of gave her a headache. The main question that still bothered her was, what is she going to do?She walked back towards Kala and spoke questioningly, "Kala? Do you have family?"

Kala watched Nuri walk off, then her attention was drawn to Akira. She wasn't too sure she wanted to share, but she might as well explain to someone why she kept spacing out the way she did. She answered strongly, "Yes, I have family. Just my husband. I used to have a daughter, Kira. Very close to your name in fact." Her voice broke on the last line. "This is really tough to talk about. Are you sure you wanna hear what happened?" She was forcing herself to breathe so she wouldn't completly break down in front of Akira.

Nuri by now had been to the water hole and back and was scratching her claws on a nearby tree. Family stories didn't normally bother her, but she decided to listen from a distance, that way, personal information could be whispered and she wouldn't hear the mooshy parts.

Sadness and confusion filled her face as she looked into Kala's eyes and saw the pain that filled them. Akira sat down in front of her and wrapped her tail around her legs, "You don't have to share if it's too much? I just thought I'd ask." She kind of felt a pinch of guilt for putting Kala in this situation. Was the pain unbearable for her? Her daughter's name.. Kira. It's so close to her own, Akira almost represents her daughter that had become a 'was' in life.
"Maybe if you don't want to share about your daughter, you can share something about your husband? Unless you want to talk about Kira; then I'm all ears." She focused intently on Kala.

"Well, I can share a little bit about him. His name is Mufasa, he was named after the first Mufasa. He's very handsome, he's very kind and he loves me very much. I almost thought he was going to leave after Kira died, because for a while there, he blamed me. If we hadn't gone down into the gorge that day, she might still be alive." She paused there. "Would you like me to go on?"
(OOC: If she does, I'll just tell the rest of the story in flashback form. I like writing those better. Plus, it'd be more interesting than Kala just telling her.)

Nuri Shuddered a little and pulled her claws down the bark of the tree quickly, She'd inherited a fear of gorges, namely because that's what killed her mentor, Zira.

Akira smiled at the thought of her 'sweet' husband. She thought of all the good there was still left in the world and how there's life out there that is more than just her own. Sure she had lost two lions' near and dear to her, but there were still many more to come into her life. But when she heard that Mufasa had almost left Kala, the image that had once excited her had disappeared.
"I'm very sorry to hear that, but he is still with you right?" Love has always fluttered in Akira's heart, it was of great importance to her. It was one of the greatest feelings in the world and one of the strongest... Standing next to hatred. "What happened to Kira?" she asked apathetically.

Wingu was back at the time, the girls were story telling. Wingu layed down in the shadows, closed his eyes and just listened. Maybe he'll get to know these lionesses more?

(OOC: Warning, post may be kind of long!) Kala answered, "No, he's still with me. He gets annoyed at me sometimes because he wants more cubs and I don't. Now, as to what happened to my daughter." (Flashback) Kala and Kira were out walking that morning, and Kira was excited. She always enjoyed thier mother/daughter walks. She was bouncing around. Kala said, "All right, whirlwind, settle down. I know you're excited." "But this is always my favorite part of the day, mom!" "Mine, too, sweetie." Soon, they came to the gorge, the only way to cross it was to go down in it. Kala had an ominous feeling as they descended. After they'd been walking along the bottom of the gorge for about ten minutes, the ground started shaking. Kira asked, "Mom, what's that?" "I don't know." As she said that, she looked toward the far end of the gorge and saw a terrifying sight: a stampede of wildebeests headed straight for them. "Kira, run! No, get on my back and hang on! I'll see if I can outrun them!" Once Kira was safely on her mother's back, Kala ran like thier lives depended on it. At one point, Kira fell off. "Mom!" "Kira!" She turned around to go back for her daughter, but got hit by one of them, hard and fell. She tried several more times to get to her daughter, but kept getting hit. At one point, she was so close, she almost had her, but she got hit so hard she passed out and the last thing she heard was Kira's scream of, "MOM!" When she finally woke up about 2 hours later, it was to find a very worried Mufasa by her side. "Hey, baby, how are you feeling?" "My head hurts. I must've hit it while I was trying to get- -where's Kira? Did somebody get her?" "Hon, it's a miracle you survived the stampede. I thought I'd lost you both." "Lost us both? What are you talking about?" "You don't know. Honey, Kira didn't survive, she's dead." There was a moment of silence, then, "NO!" And she broke down, sobbing, while Mufasa just stayed with her. (Flashback ends) "And that's the whole story. I can't believe it's been almost 2 years since it happened, and it still hurts when I think about her, which is pretty much everyday. That's something you never get over." Kala looked down, not wanting Akira to see her trying so hard not to cry.

Nuri stood up and stretched, ,We get out of other lion's Land and find someplace unowned." She announced, "Then we decide how to help you and Akira." She added pointedly to Wingu, "It's not worth being all tied in the past if it only makes one moan." She said wearily, " We should move on and try to improve ourselves. Now does my plan sound good? Or are you thinking better?" She said with a slight challenging tone, "I've been a loner for more years than I can count. Not That I have lived long. But I certainly know the Lands that are owned, and if we stay here too long, we will be attacked." She sounded prideful, but she was just making herself clear, if she was going to tag along with these lions she would make her position and knowledge very clear.

Akira's eyes began to water and a tear had fallen from her cheek, "I'm very sorry about your daughter. Do you perhaps not want another because you fear losing him/her as well?" She had sniffled then thought to herself, "This isn't your battle to fight, why are you crying? Suck it up. But I feel so bad..." There was a sudden change in Akira's facial expression... It wasn't depression that lingered on her face, it was focus. "I really wish I could help you Kala. I do, and if you ever think of a way for me to help then tell me because I will do my BEST to make things better."
She looked at Wingu and Nuri and smiled; quickly she realized she shouldn't have smiled at Nuri. She spoke out loudly to everyone, "Well, we have to leave this land to avoid even more sad memories so lets do so quickly." She looked around, her ears were flicking in all directions, her tail held high, her eyes wide and alert, and her body language showed she was confident, I'm getting attached to everyone... Is this bad? Good? What if one day WE were all in a pride together... Almost like one dysfunctional family."

Nuri looked weirdly at Akira who was displaying overconfident body movements, "As much as the cub is disturbing me, we should move now. Does Musfasa want to come Kala, not that I would personally enjoy more company, But your mate should come unless he has a pride to take care of and he won't miss you if you are gone." This time Nuri sneezed, she cursed loudly at the Kings who watched from the sky and growled bitterly, "Make up your mind I'll be over there." She said distantly pointing to a tree nearby. She'd fallen into being considerate, and is annoyed her greatly.

"I don't think you can really help me. Unless you can teach me how to fight properly. I want revenge." Wingu got up and roared a bit. Then he folowed Nuri to the tree.

(OOC: Wow, you guys have been busy in the 24 hours since I was last on!) Kala was a little bit suprised at the turn of events. She didn't know who to answer first. She finally said, "So, you all think we should leave. And I'm happy to know you included my husband. If you all don't mind, I'll run home and ask him. And Akira, to answer your question, yes, that is why." After giving a reassuring smile to Akira, she turned towards Nuri and replied, "Yes, I'm sure my husband would miss me if I just disappeared without an explanation, so at the very least I need to explain to him what's going on. Is that all right with you all? I won't be gone long."

Akira listened to Kala's words and began to process them through her mind. Even though she was feeling a little more confident she still didn't feel too comfortable around Nuri, nor Wingu. "I don't mind if you get him." She looked after Nuri's and Wingu's paw-steps, then looked at Kala. "I don't know whether to stay put, or follow them.." she thought to herself.

Nuri looked back at Kala, "That was the suggestion, go ahead, but don't take too long. The pride that lives here, can be particularly agressive." She said with a snarl, reminising a memory, "Akira, you should stay with someone, they'll pick you off like a Baby wilderbeast." She ordered firmly, concerned as she was.
She Finally turned to Wingu and grinned, even though it appeared like a smirk, "Fighting is something a lion like you won't need much training for, as you can take down prey easily, but if you do win, you will have to let lionesses hunt, so perhaps a lesson on spring fighting is in some order. I have watched lots, but I can't say I'm a brilliant fighter." She said with some reprive, "But I'm good enough to give you a runn for your catch." She remarked playfully. She respected the Lion now and was much Kinder to him, although her snide sarcasm was regular in most of her conversation, with anyone.
She hadn't quite come to respect Kala, as she wasn't really nice to any mated female, particularly those with mates named Mufasa, but she was determind not to let her get the better of herself. By now she grudgedly cared for the cub, though she wasn't one for having her own, but she didn't want anyone dying at her paws, being a murderous londer of the outlands, if she returned at all, would detroy he reputation and respect she'd earnt among the other outlanders.

(OOC: I'm going home for the holidays today and might not be able to be on as much (Limited internet access at home. But I will keep this going, so please don't abandon this if you don't hear from me every day.)
"Thanks! Be back soon!," Kala said excitedly and hurried away. When she reached the cave that she and her husband had made a home in, she called, "Sweetie, I'm back!" The golden lion with a brown mane and blue eyes, who was also quite stocky, walked out. "You've been gone a while, honey. You had me worried." "I met some new friends at the waterhole today and they want to leave and they'd like us to come with them." "Do I know them?" "Probably not. It would mean a lot to me. You'll like them. Well, except for the teenage lioness. She has kind of an attitude and it gets on my nerves." "Can we trust them?" "I think we can. They're waiting for us. Come on. Think of what great adventures we can have. I know you like having adventures." "I do like a good adventure. OK, lead the way." The two headed back to the waterhole.

Akira had kept close to Nuri, a shiver of fear had roamed over her body, 'They would kill me if I was alone..' Even though the 'heat' of the day had past by it was still pretty scorching. Her fur felt like a field fire had started, hopefully Kala would be back soon so they could find somewhere with water and shelter. Akira began to think of the future, 'Where shall we all sleep tonight? Will we even be together that long?'
The air was dry and humid and her pads began to hurt from walking on them all day. "Nuri? Where are we going to go?"

Nuri hummed momentarily, and stopped just as fast. Her face was extremely guilty as he looked at the others and noticed Kala and Mufasa coming towards them, "We better start moving then. Let's go." She muttered, not sure if the company of two lions would kill her lead. Huffing she guided the cub, "C'mon then, we'll be okay. I'll lead for a bit."
She grimaced, wishing she was a hyena momentarily and lead the group on.

Akira, feeling confident in Nuri, stayed close to her tail. She was a cub after all which made it easy for her to get attached to anyone and everyone. She knew Nuri didn't really want to talk, but what else would she do while searching for free land? Almost like an adventure! "Say Nuri? Why are you a loner?" Akira asked trying to make small talk to make time pass by quicker.
