Yay Zor!!!!! David Tennant is my favourite doctor . Which episodes did you cry at :oim sitting Pulsar down and making him watch Doctor AND Supernatural hahaha. What did you think of the episode with the gas mask? That frightens me w and I'm 18 hehe. Oh god please no! Not the gas mask child! D: I watchdd DW whenever I slept at my aunties, I was 8 back then. That episode came on one night, and I fcreatoout majorly! I had nightmares for weeks! It put me off DW until good ol Matt Smith came along. Ahh~ Gotta love fish fingers and custard. Oh, also im a fanatic. I have every trading card apart from the rarest one that you never get i! Also, have you heard of Flappy Birds? It was so popular, the creator killed himself because of the fame he got, now the phones with flappy birds are selling for 25000 pounds on ebay! With bids!

Jack and Rose would've been a perfect match; why didn't they run with that? Seriously xP Anyway... Yeah, I've head about the Flappy Bird thing. The creator didn't kill himself xP But he did kill the game. The selling smartphones with the game on it is absolutely crazy. How desperate can people get?

Well, there are alot of rumors swirling around about Flappy Birds. Its hard to beleive sometimes, but it can be pretty believable at times. I know right? People are crazy for that game. I've seen a shirt that says "Flappy Birds ruined my life" I really wanted it, heh.
Oh yes, I personally prefer Tennant and Rose, I find it pretty sad. But, im pretty hyped for the new doctor, im going to miss Matt.

I got my first 1st on a Uni assignment (the equivalent of an A). I HATE braces Jet, they were so painful when I got them ;-; I couldn't eat for ages. Hmm what else. Oh! I could potentially get my book published next year if I get a 1st on a certain assignment. But I have a full year to prepare for that assignment so I'll start working on it now . I was over the moon when my lecturer said that hehe.

Ooh! That's great, Tura! Best of luck with it! Also, yeah, braces are such a pain, Jetstar. It took me a few days to get used to them too and if I remember correctly I mostly lived off yoghurt and soup during that time xP It's worth it in the end though; my teeth were a mess before I got the braces, but now they look great, haha! It's just those wisdom teeth I worry about now... They're in really awkward positions and will need to be removed at some point. Eeek o.- As for what I'm up to, I'm still having such a blast doing my internship at the local VFX studio. I'm pretty much working my dream job and I'm loving it so much. It would be a real dream come true if they could hire me after I've graduated from uni. I'm keeping my fingers crossed... xD Check out this awesome film they made: I helped with the animation on the lions, hehee! (Also if someone can name that tune I'd be very, very grateful; I know I recognise it from somewhere, but I just can't figure out where... It's driving me nuts xD)

That roller coaster is now on my bucket list xD And I haven't even had em for a full day and they're already painful My friends were watching me eat today out of curiosity and they said I looked like a cat apareantly. I kept swiping at my makeshift plate and I hissed at one point xD Im surviving off of melted chocolate so far but I'll only get away with that for so long xD Also congratulations on your work/college accomplishments guys! Sounds awesome. I'd love to do advanced animation.

I never had the pleasure of having braces myself, but I can imagine how they must feel like. Had enough friends with them who were eager enough to share their experiences. As a side note, I'll be more or less away from the coming Sunday until the next Thursday (that is from 13th to 17th). I'm taking part in a project at university called Beyond Books: Reading Visual Culture (or something like that anyway lol) and we're taking a trip to Tallinn to see the university students over there. I think I'll be mostly dead on Thursday when I come back though, because the instant I hop off the train over here I'll jump into a buss and travel to my parents' for Easter (long trip, all the way from Tallinn to high up here in North Finland xD), so I think I'll be online next on Friday the 18th. Not only that, but after Easter I shall come back for one lecture at uni on 23rd, then hop on plane on 24th and go visit my sister for the naming of her new baby girl. <3 Just a heads up. I don't know if I'll have internet over at Tallinn (or time for anything anyway), but we shall see. xP Also maybe while I'm visiting my parents I can actually manage to re-install the OS on my laptop....... Then I could see if Dunia works on it, since right now it randomly freezes every now and then. >_>

That's pretty cool Kanu, somewhat funny that it was lions you got to animate If you do really well they might take you on, it's not unheard of for companies to sometimes do that if the intern really shines and we know you have the skills to if you put your mind to it. In the least, as you said you're doing something you enjoy, plus, you could always mention/use it in a portfolio for the future perhaps? Saying "yeah I animated something for an ad" isn't exactly something many can claim and would certainly be a good addition if you were applying somewhere or for a job in that area.

I'm a dentist, and I hate braces ah the irony >< Yeah, it's a pain at first, but then your teeth start getting used to the new positions and the bone and ligaments adapt to them. In the end it's really worth it (and it's such a relief the day they're taken off xD). Usually, when it's possible, I suggest patients to focus on getting their wisdom teeth removed before having braces. A wisdom tooth erupting in a bad position can cause other teeth to move again, and thus mess with the work done by braces (I know because it happened to me -.-). So yeah, keep a good watch on those wisdom teeth. And Kanu, that's awesome! I'm glad you're liking it there that much, I hope the odds are high that they can hire you there Great trailer, btw, I'd be happy if I could help working for something like that. As for me, I'm currently doing a social service at the Central Hospital here. It's something I have to do before finally being able to do my professional exam and get my degree in Dental Surgery. I treat about 5 to 6 patients every weekday as well as so some mouth check-ups on patients in recovery rooms from other areas. So far it's been nice working there, except for the fact that I don't really get paid for it, but at least I'll be free from it in August, then I'll be able to work fully on my own. Other than that, this is more like a little dream I have, but I'm starting to think about taking a course about latex make-up for fantasy/horror movie creatures. I really love dentistry, but my dream job has always been working in the filmmaking business (I like seeing the Making-of content in DVD/Blu-Ray extras xD), and I'm thinking that combining my knowledge in making dental prosthetics and adding make-up effects to that, maybe that could be my ticket in, hehe. Then again, it's just a dream right now, but hey, I'd be really happy if I could design some alien for Doctor Who ...one can dream xD

So yeah, keep a good watch on those wisdom teeth. That reminds me, I've still got all four of mine intact. They erupted some years ago, and since I've had no problems with them so far I very much rather keep them than have them removed. xP

|
|
Post by Leorgathar on Apr 9, 2014 8:35:07 GMT
Then you're really lucky xD yeah, if you have all of them erupted and are not giving you trouble, there's no point in removing them, of course

I didn't actually animate the lions myself, but told the person who was animating them "Do it this way!" So I kind of supervised it, rather? Which sounds pretty good to say too, haha! XD And I found out the name of the tune they used in the trailer! It was by Two Steps From Hell. Yaaay! Finally I know xD

Two Steps From Hell! I knew it sounded familiar. Awesome music choice on their part Two Steps From Hell do ridiculously epic music.
Do you know what program they used to animate the lions by the way Kanu?

Post by KanuTGL on Apr 12, 2014 21:18:30 GMT
Yes. Yes, they do And the lions were animated in Cinema 4D in the end :3 It was meant to be done in Maya originally, but there was something about the rendering that they couldn't get to work. Good thing they could transfer the models over!

yay easter break! anyone doing anything special? And being able to say you told the animator what to do sounds amazing, it sounds like youre a professional! Theyd only listen to you if they knew you knew what you were talking about if that makes sense? So like they respect you.

Hello people......... So despite my attempts at spring, I kind of failed to remain active. >_> Last spring was seriously killing me with deadlines, and it was this close that I didn't have a mental breakdown from all the stress. I've been recuperating this summer, and thought it would be best to drop out of social media for a while. Things have finally calmed down and I'm starting to feel active (and alive lol) again, and even though I've got a few deadlines looming in the near future (summer courses for the uni), I think it's high time I actually get back to at least checking the forum regularly. Don't know when I'll get around to the RPs. Frankly I don't even dare take a look right now at what my inactivity might have caused there. <_< Sorry about that guys, but after the hectic spring my life outside the virtual world really was more important. Anyhow, I'll see you all around, I guess.

Welcome back Kir! I'm glad to see you again here I can relate with having to disappear for a while due to life responsibilities. I myself have had some eventful past couple of months, which had me feeling down (and in a way I'm still trying to deal with it). And that's also a reason I haven't been RPing in a while. I hope you keep up with your activity here, best of luck

Thanks, I hope I'll keep up with the activity too. During the time I was away I knew I had more important things to focus on, yet I still couldn't help being mildly annoyed at myself for not checking the forum. >_>'

So there I was, at a laser tag place, drawn in by the flashing lights of DDR. "I used to be good at this in high school," I told myself. "I'm a little out of shape now, but it'll be fine!" I said.
End of the song required three jumps, and on the last jump there's a loud CRACK, pain, and my knee pops sideways, and I just sort of crumple. And I'm here know typing at this awkward angle while my leg's up on pillows with ice on top.
Only someone as dorky as me would go down because of DDR... >.<

Ouch. I bet you're feeling Zorry for yourself now:D. But seriously. Sorry to hear that:). How did you do, before the fall? Oh I'm a terrible laser tag player, but I kicked butt at DDR. Before I fell down, I had all perfect timing xD I usually play on Standard mode. Can't remember the song, it was one of those really bad DDR remixes, you know the kind.
