We Are One (Private)

[Vitalini]

"My Queen!" Zazu cried, "Princess Vitalini has been attacked! "
"What?" Kovu roared in concern and anger as he followed his wife and major domo.

Tani's shoulders were bleeding but she tried to push the pain away, "What are you talking about? "

The lioness laughed at Tanis confusion and then turned back to Enuthu, a knowing look on her face, "Hmm... looks like you've been in some trouble. " The lioness laughed noting the scars on Enuthu's body.

[Accalia]

Kiara sprinted behind Zazu, wanting to get to Vitalini as soon as possible. Tears were welling in her eyes as she ran.

Enuthu gives her a cruel laugh then stopped it quickly "I am none of your concern." he half growled at the now quite old lioness.

[Vitalini]

The lioness smirked, letting it go.

"My.. my grandmother..." Tani whispered trying to put the pieces together, "My grandmother is dead."

"Greatly exaggerated." The lioness laughed, "Who told you that? Your mother? Psh, doesnt surprise me at all. She never did know anything. The same way she corrupted your father."

A roar was heard from behind and Kovu and Kiara came into view.

Kovu stopped dead in his tracks, "Mother?" A look of confusion mingled with outrage and joy came across the Kings face

[Accalia]

Enuthu was confused by this whole ordeal and as the King and Queen came into view he looked confused but stayed put, pinning the lioness to the ground.

Kiara said in a low voice "Zira..." her eyes were hard and filled with loathe and confusion. "You died.."

[Vitalini]

"You wish." Zira sneered, "Kovu I thought you would've come to your senses by now and dumped that tramp."

[Accalia]

Kiara was confused but as she addressed her as tramp she growled "Love has bonded us together, neither of us are 'tramps' no one is a tramp if there are people to care for them."

Enuthu took a step backwards, his forehead furrowed as the ordeal played out before him.

[Vitalini]

Zira laughed and took the advantage to stand again. She glared at her son and his mate and then turned her eyes on her granddaughter, "So you named her after Vitani did you? Hmm... seems reasonable... although your sister isn't the best at being reasonable. She took your side way too easily. Scar would be so disappointed in both of you."

Kovu growled, "So be it! I wouldn't want him tobe proud of me!"

Vitalini stepped closer to Enuthu. Her head was spinning and she was beginning to grow faint. The sun was blistering hot and the loss of blood, though it wasnt much, was getting to her.

[Accalia]

Kiara stood beside Kovu and leant against him gently, this was so she shared his strength and so that she didn't faint when it all hit her.

Enuthu looked and Vitalini his eyes filled with something deep and he leant against her, leaning his head against hers, his black fringe falling in front of his eyes.

[Vitalini]

Kovu snarled and growled at his mother, "Get out."

Zira laughed, "Why? You let all the other Outsiders into the Pride. Why not your dear mother?"

"A mother." Kovu snapped, "Is someone who cares for their young. Someone who puts their well being about their own. Someone who loves and only wants what is best for their children. Kiara is a mother. You.... you never were."

Tani swallowed hard. She could hear the pain hidden beneath her fathers anger. She looked up at Enuthu. Her body trembled and she leaned her head instinctively against his shoulder.

[Accalia]

Enuthu flintched, he didn't like this lioness, though he had met many like her during her life and he knew he was powerless against her now. She was older and from what he had heard guessed that she was Tani's grandmother after all.

Kiara sighed and nuzzled Kovu lightly, trying to ease his deep pain and anger. His pain spread into her heat and it changed to hers, she felt the deep ache of pain and her growl wavered.

[Vitalini]

Zira looked from one lion to the other, studying the faces of each one before looking directly at Vitalini, "Ill be back." And with that she turned and walked away.

Kovu wanted to follow her, he wanted to yell at her - to tell her she was not welcome here, that she should never return. Something stopped him though. An aching in his heart. A question that burned from deep inside. He watched with inner conflict as the lioness who had raised him - who though it was not the words a cub should hear - had sung him to sleep at night. He watched until she was out of sight and then turned to his daughter, "are you alright?'

Vitani stood shaking but relaxed at the sound of her fathers voice, "Yes, Daddy."

Kovu softly smiled. It had been a long time since his little girl had called him that. He looked at Enuthu and bowed his head slightly, "Thank you, for protecting my daughter. Please accept our invitation and stay tonight. Its getting late and i would be honored if you would be our guest for the evening. If in the morning you still wish to go you are free to, but if not - please know you are welcome to stay as long as you like."

[Accalia]

Kiara saw the conflict Kovu was experiencing and sighed quietly saying "Everything is and will be fine." she didn't want to say that but she wasn't sure what else to say and so settled with whatever came from her mouth.

The past events had confused Enuthu and even more the fact that they simply let the lioness leave without any pain inflicted upon her. He gave Kovu a deep bow in return and said in his smooth, deep voice "It was no problem. I guess I shall stay for tonight if it isn't too much of a bother to you."

He softly nuzzled Tani, not thinking about his actions, just letting it happen. His cheeks went a dark purple with a blush and he pulled away. He gave her a small, inbarresed smile and looked at the ground, that was not the right time to do that.

[Vitalini]

She smiled back.

Kovu looked from Enuthu to Vitalini, "We will meet you at home. Miati and Vera are nearby if you need them." The king replied referring to two of the lionesses who acted as guards.

Vitalini watched as her parents left. She turned back to Enuthu, "Thank you."

[Accalia]

Enuthu looked slightly confused "For what?" his stance was strong but his lanky figure caused him to appear slightly out of place

[Vitalini]

"For protecting me." Tani smiled, "I mean I'm usually okay in situations like that but... she really surprised me. I cant believe..." her countenance fell, "Father must be so confused. " she nuzzled Enuthu without thinking, "oh... sorry" She looked up embarrassed.

[Accalia]

Enuthu gave a soft chuckle at her thanks and nuzzle and stared deep into her eyes before pressing his maw against hers as the sun began to set and said quietly "I don't think I'll be leaving for a while." he breathed, her soft face pressed against his own and he felt as if his body had exploded into a million parts of electric energy.

[Vitalini]

"Please don't." She sighed, her voice barely above a whisper. Her nose rested against his and she trembled

[Accalia]

Enuthu let out a shaky sigh and gave her a light smile. "Tani, your eyes sparkle brighter then the sun in all its beauty."

[Vitalini]

"Really?" She asked biting her lower muzzle nervously, "They do?"

Kovu collapsed in the den. His head on his paws. He let out a long and tired sigh.

[Accalia]

Enuthu gave an air filled chuckle and says slowly "Yes they really do."

Kiara collapses beside Kovu and asks exhausted "Oh kovu... What are we going to do? Our little girl is growing up and Zira has returned, my father is hurt and I feel as if my life is falling apart."

[Vitalini]

Kovu nuzzled his mate, "We will figure something out. We always do. Everything will be okay."

Tani blushed. She had never been given such a compliment before. She wondered if the electric current pulsing through her was due to the fact that she was in the company of a newcomer or that she liked him.

[Accalia]

Kiara sighed "I love you Kovu." he always seemed to have a way of fixing things and making them sound alright.

Enuthu had lost himself in Tani's beautiful eyes and by the time he pulled away slowly his face felt cold without hers pressed against his own. His bofy was buzzing but he remained still as he suddenly realised the time "We should get back.."

[Vitalini]

Tanis face could not conceal her disappointment, "Alright... but your not leaving right? Promise?"


Kovu smiled, "I love you too."

[Accalia]

Enuthu smiled and gave her a brief lick on the cheek, his own bright red. He spun on his heals and began lightly trotting towards his new 'home' at least for now.

Kiara purred and lay against Kovu, her face tired and her mind still lightly troubled.

[Vitalini]

"What do you think of Enuthu?" Kovu asked his mate.

Tani ran after him, catching up easily.

[Accalia]

Kiara sighed "I don't quite know... he doesn't seem to be that bad, and he saved our precious Vitalini after all.. why? how do you feel about Enuthu?"

Enuthu gave Tani a smile and sped up.

[Vitalini]

Tani laughed and ran faster.

Kovu smiled, "I wasnt sure what to think of him at first but I think he has a good head on his shoulders. Tani seems to like him."

[Accalia]

Kiara giggled "I think they both like eachother, I can see it in their eyes."

Enuthu saw Pride Rock looming up through the setting sun and whooped in delight

[Vitalini]

Tani giggled, " are you excited? "

Kovu nodded, "I think so too. I just hope he doesn't up and leave and break her heart. "

[Accalia]

"Its just, I don't really know.. I guess I haven't ever felt this free before..!" his eyes are wide and filled with energy. He remembers how fearful he always was of his fathers and brothers and family in general.

Kiara sighs "I am too.. I don't think I could bare to see my little Tani heartbroken.."
