His breaths were uneavn and sharp, but Arlo was a fighter and was holding on to conciseness slipping in and out of it, trying to stay alive. "At least my family will be safe" He thought to himself

Noticing him fading from unconsciousness she gasped, but as he went back under she was shocked, she was scared. She buried her head in his soft mane and began to cry. Arlo was the only lion who truely accepted her, and without him, she felt like nothing. She couldn't raise the cubs on her own, and what would she tell them when they're older. Her sobs became cries of sadness.

He moved his head and licked her, "Don't cry over me, I will always be here, you will see me in the cubs, I love you Ara."

"Please Arlo... you can get better like last time.. the cubs need you.. please.. don't die on me." She says through desperate sobs crying into his fur even more, wrapping him in her embrace. "Please.. don't leave me..." she says her voice croacking, her golden fur damp from tears that would never stop falling.

He smiles his childish grin one last time and says "I will always be here, living on through my little princess and princes, but I may return in another form." He whispers I love you, and more life fills his checks but not a notesable amount

"No! Arlo! Please.. no.. no.." She cries out, calling for help, despite nobody being around. She sits down, staring at the floor. Tears roll down her face, but something snaps inside her. It was Meupi, it was her pride! Ara let out an insane laugh, her grin growing rather large. "Now its their turn.." she hisses, bounding in the direction of the pride.

Arlo opens his eyes to find Ara gone and breaths in a deep sigh, so this is what it is like to be dead, he thought to himself, but he then head a faint mewing coming from the cave, My cubs he thought, I have to go save them. Arlo shakily pulled his body towards the cave inch by inch, pain coursing through his body, I have to make it there, for my cubs, he thought, wanted to make sure they were safe.

He looked up at Ara and his beautiful cubs with her and he sighed at looked at them with loving eyes, he stopped struggling and lay there, so much love in Ara's face that it overpowered the pain and Arlo was content for a moment, looking at his family all together.

She smiled as she saw him enter the cave. Her eyes filled with happiness as she helped him lie down in a comfterable position. She brought the now content cubs over placing them in the middle of them. The cubs clung to their fathers side and purred.

Then turned to Ara and whispered 'we have the most beautiful family in the world" and he smiled, bigger then ever and looked down at Artemis trying to smile back, but it turned into the most beautiful/cute loving look ever. Arlo had never had so much love in his life and he loved the warm glow radiating from them all, he had virtually no pain left to feel.

Ura pawed at her fathers face when he licked her. Her sealed eyes were beginning to open. Her eyes opened revealing a set of her fathers blue eyes. Ura mewls, blinking her eyes vigorously trying to get used to the newly seen light.
Ara chuckled. "She's opening her eyes Arlo.."

He looked down at Ura and chuckled, but it turned into a wince "She is opening her beautiful mothers eyes." He said lovingly, looking into Ara own beautiful mint green eyes "I remember the first time I saw them, I was love struck." He turned his gaze back to Ura and smiled at how fast she was blinking and moved his paw slowly over her eyes "How is that little one?"

Ura purred and paws at her fathers huge paw. She lets out a little tiny squeak.
Ara smiled and blushed. "Lets not forget you were the most stunning looking male and the way you acted. You were the one when I first met you." She smiled, beaming upon their cubs. "And now we have 3 beautiful cubs to show for our love."

Ura rolled over and hurt her leg, and began to cry. Ara could tell Ura was going to be bullied by her siblings. She let out a sigh and her eyes narrowed, as she took Ura away. Artemis tried to block them, but failed. And from this, you could see Artemis would protect his sister.

Arlo looked his at his sons and saw that Artemis would be the bold courageous protector of the pride, but when he looked at Apollo he saw that he would be the mischievous one, but also an outcast because of his strange colour combination, but that did not make Arlo love any of them more then the other, but Ura would Always be his little princess

He looked at Ara and said as load as he could in his injured state "Ura is going to need extra love and care, and Apollo is going to need to know he is handsome, but Artemis is going to need someone to play fight with, we are Definatly going to have our Hans's full!"

Arlo chuckled and watched as Apollo pulled a unhappy face when Artemis had pounced on him and then made it obvious he didn't want to play by lying down and pretending to go to sleep, but he couldn't help himself and pounced on Artemis from behind and let out a little squeak of joy. Arlo chuckled and started to go to sleep, but pulled his family in towards him for a massace bear hug first, despite the pain that echod through his crippled body.

Artemis let out a squeak of suprise, but shoves his sibling off. Ura remained asleep in her mothers arms. Ara smiled down at the cubs, she nuzzled them all equally.

Arlo sighed of happiness, his family was together and happy. Arlo slipped into sleep, but his dreams were not of happy things, he kept seeing all the bad parts of his life; when Meupi had scratched Ara; The dead cub hanging limp from Ara's mouth; The innocent, content face of Meupi as she plummeted towards the ground, towards death. Then he saw Ara, corrupt, insane and a killer, his cubs abandoned and a different set of cubs surrounding Ara and himself only he didn't look like himself, he looked completely different. Arlo tossed and turned in his sleep, but unable to escape from the nightmare. In his nightmare Ara was standing ontop of all the lions she had killed, not looking herself, she looked familiar though... She.... She looked like Meupi. Arlo's mane was static and his face was in pain, his breath was heavy, but he could still not escape from the horrors.

Ara couldn't sleep, she felt that whenever she slept, more bad things would happen. Her eyes were heavy but she couldn't close them. She noticed Arlo stirring in his sleep, and nuzzled him, trying to comfort him without waking him. She, everytime she closed her eyes, saw Meupi. Meupis smiling and grinning face. Ara shook her head as shudders went down her spine.

Arlo awoke with a roar, his eyes wide with horror as fe franticly searched for Ara, when his eyes set on her beautiful face and eyes he calmed, but still checked all the cubs, making sure they were all his own.

Arlo breathed heavily but his eyes were calm, He licked her back and shakily got to his paws and wandered to the edge of the cave, letting the fresh air circle him and blow through his mane, he closed his eyes and smiled a truly happy small smile. "I love them Phelo," He said purring ever so quietly it was obvious he wasn't talking to Ara or himself, "I won't be like mother and father." He continued in his distant voice a faint shape appearing infront of Arlo, like it was another lion.

Seeing him walk from the cave, she smiled at him. SHe seemed fairly at ease now, she eventually began to sleep.
