"What is best for them is being with their mother. When we get to the outlands we'll start working together to make it like the Pride lands. The grass will have probably grown since that fire four years ago, so that'll be a good start." He replied.

Kovu followed Kito until the pair reached the outlands, sure enough there was plenty of grass now and no more termites. The cave he grew up in still stood tall and there was the odd small creature scurrying around. The area was still growing, naturally it would, but it was a good start. He helped his cubs off his back and watched as Kivu ran off in hot pursuit of a butterfly. "The only place we need to travel is to get water I think." He said to his mate, nuzzling her carefully but lovingly.

She joined in with the nuzzle, as she glanced towards the activities of the cubs. They were all frolicking around happily, playing in the grass. Tani pounced on Nuka and laughed as he fell over. Kito turned around, fully alert when she heard paw-steps. Many many paw-steps. Glancing over her shoulder, she saw Vitani, in the front of a huge group of dark hued lions and lionesses. "Kovu look!" She said happily, motioning him to turn round.
Vitani smiled. "Hello Brother" She greeted, as she trotted over to him, giving him a friendly head bump

"Vitani!" Kovu gasped, nuzzling his sister. "What are you doing here?"
Kivu and Nuka - who had wriggled free from his sister came to their father, "Auntie Tani!" Nuka greeted happily.

"Being a good sister. I don`t want to loose you again." She said, remembering when Zira blamed Kovu for Nuka`s death and gave him his scar. A shudder went up her spine. "And.. i also brought.. a few friends.." She said smiling innocently. The term "few" would not match to over 20 outlandish lioness.
Tani quickly, ran to greet her auntie. "Auntie Vitani!" She said laughing happily.
Vitani glanced down at the cubs. "How are my favourite little cubs?" She said rubbing Nuka`s forehead.

Kovu smiled at all the outsider lionesses he had grown up with, his babysitters, his mother's best fighters and even their cubs, "The outlands have certainly changed haven't they." Kovu smiled.
"I'm good!" Nuka giggled whilst Kivu nodded and jumped around at her aunt's paws.

"Yes, they have" Kito said smiling, as Kovu`s past pride looked in awe around the land. "Indeed it has" 2 lioness chimed in together. Stepping from the midst of the crowd was Dotty, and Spotty. Fully matured adult lioness. "And we all agree that you.. Kovu and Kito, should rule these lands" They said bowing down. The crowd began to chant. "Long live Queen Kito and King Kovu!"
"Well, i have something im going to show you. Do you mind Kovu? I think they will be suprised.." She said smiling down at her nieces and nephew.

Kovu stood grinning at his extended family when he heard Kito's familiar voice in his ear. He turned to her and shook his head, "No, I don't mind. Go ahead." He smiled nuzzling her.

Kito nuzzled Kovu, as a content purr sounded from her throat. She ushered the cubs along, as Vitani walked beside them, beaming happily. Kito seemed almost lost in though, thinking deeply. With a sigh, she turned to Vitani. "You go ahead, i will catch up" She said, with a slight smirk as she walked back to Kovu.
(Could she have 2 other cubs? xD))

Kovu who had started following his sister turned to Kito and smiled nuzzling her back and nibbling on her scruff affectionately. "We should go with them, Vitani won't be able to manage the cubs."
Nuka and Kivu ran along, sticking close to Tani, pouncing on her playfully.

"Well, perhaps we should, they are a handful... sometimes" She said chuckling, and nuzzling into his mane. "Perhaps.. two more would be more of a handful" Flicking his face with her tail, as she let out a soft laugh. Hinting towards him.
Vitani laughed as the cubs played between her paws. She batted at them softly, as she rolled onto the grass, as she picked up Nuka in her paws and scuffed up his mane with her paws. She let out a loud laugh.

Kovu stood in confusion for a moment, "Two what?" His eyes widen in surprise. "Oh." He nuzzled her with a playful smile.
Kivu pounced on Tani, sending them both falling backwards into Vitani whilst Nuka laughed excitedly.

She nuzzled him. She let out another soft chuckle. "Another two cubs" She said, glancing over to Vitani. "Your sister is a natural with cubs" She said emitting a small chuckle.
Tani let out a squeak as she rolled down the small hill too a banking with Kivu. They were now near the crocodile lake.
Vitani continued to laugh at the cubs. But son Kivu and Tani were out of sight. "Kivu?! Tani!?" She said, beginning to panick. Then she heard the laugh of a hyena. "Oh.. no" She said hurrying to try and find them.
(Could cub die? It could be Kivu, because i have a good idea for the plot. Hyenas.)

Kivu cowered beside her sibling as a hyena's cackle echoed around the area.
Kovu began to groom Kito, oblivious to the possible danger.
"What was that Auntie Vitani?" Nuka asked nervously.

Tani began to shiver as she snuggled up close to her sister, as 5 hyenas circled around them snapping at them. "Hey stop it!" She whined, flicking her tail out of the way as they snapped at it, until one came forward and grabbed her neck, as she began to choke and struggle in the air. "Let.. Go.." They soon dropped her as she fell to the floor on her feet as one lunged at her as she was mauled vicously until all that was left was a bloody lifeless corpse. Tani was no more.
Another hyena soon lept forward, mauling at Kivu, until they heard a voice. "GET AWAY MUTTS!" A voice yelled, as the hyenas scampered. However, Kivus wounds were very, very severe she might not make it.
Vitani hurried down the bank, seeing Kivu almost lifeless and Tani completly mauled, she coulden`t even be recognized anymore unless you knew her well. "KOVU KITO! COME QUICKLY!" She gave a distraught yell.
Kito bounded down the hill, as she saw the cubs. "No.. no... no.." She muttered to herself over and over. "My little Babys.." She began to whine out, as she began to cry, scooping Kivu in her paws. As she nuzzled the cubs near lifeless body. "Im.. so so sorry..." She said crying upon her daughter.

Kovu raised to Kito's side and looked from Tani to Kivu, he padded closer to his daughter and licked her ever so gently. "Hush now my baby." He whispered as Kivu shuddered and took one last breath before going limp in her mothers paws.
Kovu snarled angrily and went to Tani nuzzling her lifeless body. "Zira and Scar will look after you now. So will your Uncle Nuka." He said weakly. He felt tears sting his eyes and snarled, "Vitani go stay with Kito." He said, his voice scarily calm. Without a look he raced off after the hyena's, a murderous growl on his lips.
Nuka padded to the edge of the hill and looked down, seeing his mother crying and father run off. The cub ran to his mothers side and nudged her paw, "What's going on mummy?" He asked slowly, not understanding what had happened. His gaze fell on Kivu and then Tani. "Are they having a nap?" He asked innocently.

She rested her head on Kivu, as she looked down at her, as more tears crept down her face upon her small tan body. "Oh Kivu.. Tani.. i could have protected you.. why did this happen? Is this a bad sin?" She said crying, as Kovu ran off. She would never forgive herself. She felt awful, she felt as though she could have helped Kivu, but instead watched her die.
She turned to Nuka, tears still pouring down her face.. "Come here Nuka" She said ushering her son over, as she hugged him into her side. "Let me tell you something" She said, holding back the tears. "Well.. Kivu and Tani, are having a very nice nap, and in that nap, they got to a special place up in the sky, where they see their family. They look down upon us everyday, and at night you can talk to them through the stars. So what im tryng to say is Kivu and Tani will be asleep.. forever Nuka" She said holding him closer as more tears crept down her face.
Vitani stood shuddering on the spot, tears spilling from her eyes. She felt weak al of a sudden, as she fell to the floor crying like never before. "Im so sorry Kito!" She said crying. "I could have save-" She was cut off by a shush. as Kito quieted her down. "The circle of life has decided its course, by taking Kivu and Tani away, you could have not changed it Vitani"

"I don't understand." Nuka whimpered, "Are they sick? Will they never play with me again?" He whined.
Kovu who had found the pack of hyena's raced over, it was a small pack no more than 10 hyena's, with a fierce roar he announced his presence and the hyena's began to squeal and panic, running around in circles. Kovu, furious by the death of his daughters charge forward and started slashing, swiping, biting, tearing and snarling at all the hyena's until only a single one was left. Kovu prowled forward, his muzzle dripping with blood, with a snarl he dived forward and tore at the final hyena's throat, killing it but not before he managed to slash at his side leaving a large gash. "That's for my children." He spat before turning and going back to the Pride.

Kito`s voice shook. "Well.. they won`t be able to play with you again Nuka, im sorry" She said, looking into his eyes. "Perhaps you should go and ask your father if you want to.. know more" She said sadly, she had stopped crying, however tears still remained in her eyes.
Vitani let out a saddened sigh, walking over to Kito, and giving her a friendly head rub. She ushered Nuka away, before turning to Kito. "Should we organize the burial?" She asked, shuddering.

Nuka sat on his own, looking around confused before going back over to his mother and Aunt, listening to the two talking.
Kovu limped back into sight, ignoring Nuka and walking straight past Kito and Vitani, going off for a walk on his own to think.

Her ears flicked as the grass parted as Kovu revealed himself. She smelt the scent of hyena strongly. "Kovu!" She called after him. It was no use, he had already left. As she watched him walk into the horizon, she turned to Vitani. "..Im afraid so.. it would be.. awful.." She sniffled, stopping before continuing. "To leave them out here, and lets not forget disrespectful" She said taking a breath. Looking at her now lifeless daughters.

Kovu, meanwhile was making his way back to his Pride. He was a King now, he had to be strong. He made his way back to the Pride and settled beside Kito without a word, his expression hard and his shoulder's hunched. If anyone were to try and speak to him now he had to be careful not to bite their head off.

Kito wrapped her tail around herself, not as though it made a diffrence. She remained silent. Not ushering a word to anybody. She hung her head low, just glancing forward, not moving, or even flinching. She seemed to have put herself in a rock hard cocoon. Every once in a while a small sigh would escape her lips.
Vitani followed Nuka, before walking towards him and pulling him in for a hug. "Im sorry Nuka.. " She said to him, nuzzling into the small cub. "Im so so sorry" She sighed.
