Tawnya was wandering the pride lands. She spotted a zebra and crouched down, preparing to pounce. OOC - Excuse me but who are you? Could you please sign up and ask to join the roleplay before posting? There is a sign up thread. Sorry but I find this to be terribly rude.

Kuli watched her queen walk off, and sighed. Turning back to what remained of her wilderbeast, she said, "See what you've done now?" then began the long and painful walk home on an incredibly full stomach. She was puffed from the walk up the hill when she ran into Kiara, speaking to a lion she didn't recognise. Smiling despite her exhaustion, she waddled up and said, "Hi! I'm Kuli. I'm pleased to meet you," and lowered her head in respectful greeting.

Kiara smiled at Kuli. "Have you eaten one of the kills all by yourself again?" She asked suspiciously, though perhaps knowingly.

Kuli looked at Kiara and grinned. "Princess! I would NEVER eat a full-sized kill all by myself. I don't think I could!" She settled down onto her stomach, which bulged hugely out between her legs. Or rather her legs poked feebly out of her enormous body. Only her paws actually made it out. The rest were well and truly buried. Turning to the newcomer she said, "Have you been here before? You seem to know your way around."

Simba glanced up as he detected his mates scent and padded over to her, "Vitani is missing." He said to Nala with a frown, "Kovu is looking for her. We both are. I detected another scent. Two to be precise. Both of them I didn't think we'd ever smell again." Simba said, wording things carefully.
"Why unfortunately?" Tojo asked Kiara curiously, he turned when a new lioness made her presence known. Giving her a quick once over he spoke, "I used to live here as a cub, I was good friends with Simba and Nala." Tojo informed Kuli, turning his gaze to her, "Who are you?"

"I'm Kuli. I look after the crèche and the old lionesses. I'm Kula's daughter. Do you remember Kula? She was Nala's friend when you were both cubs. And Kiara says "unfortunately" because responsibility and expectations really suck." She glanced at Kiara and smiled sympathetically. "So you used to look after the birds, didn't you? Where are your little friends?"

Kopa waited by the outcropping of stones with Shenzi and Asante. As usual the mother and daughter were bickering about anything and everything. This time it was about hunting. "I would have caught it THIS time if you hadn't interfered," Asante was saying. Normally he'd back his friend up, but he was busy scanning the savannah for Zira. She had ran off earlier, with little more of an explanation than "I'm going to speak to my daughter." It was a risk: if they were discovered without presenting themselves, no doubt his parents would suspect they were up to no good. He didn't want his parents mistrusting him. He was sick of bad blood, especially amongst his own blood.

"Kopa?" Vitani's voice barely more than whisper. It had felt like an age since she had heard the name, but all the same, she remembered who he was instantly. Was it really that long ago that she was a cub? She would play for hours on end with the young Prince, in the Pridelands and the Outlands. She would wake up early every morning, skip her meals and come back home half asleep so she would be able to spend as much time as she could with him. Was this really the lion she was talking about? The Kopa she remembered from childhood? How could it be then that he, as her mother had been, had been dead for all these years. It didn't make sense. She had seen his body, raw and bloody, claw and teeth marks littered across his beautiful gold fur. The work of an Outlander no doubt. Did he really survive? Could she face him? After all these years... Would he even remember her?
She thought carefully before looking back to Zira. Not today. She had been through enough with the unexpected arrival of her mother returned from the dead. How could she face Kopa as well? She had loved him, but she hadn't even known if he returned those feelings.
"Mother, I can't. Not now. They'll be lions and lionesses out looking to see what happened. If they catch you, then I'll never forgive myself nor you for making me have to go through those feelings twice." Vitani said, partially telling the truth but not wanting to bring up her and Kopa yet. "I'll meet you again tonight. Same place."
And with that, Vitani gave her mother a lick across the cheek and went out. Her first step, to visit a small waterhole nearby, to rid herself of Zira's scent. When that was over and done with, she silently crept back towards the Pridelands.
Kovu was frantically running faster and faster, the direction was certain: The Outlands. What had changed Vitani's mind? Could she have seen something? Was it his ignoring her that made her turn her back? Whatever the reason, escaping to the Outlands was not a good idea. Had she forgotten how dangerous it was to venture alone there? Of course, Vitani could've handled herself perfectly when they were younger and lived in the Outlands. But without Zira's Pride, there was total anarchy amongst the animals there and nothing could've been more dangerous.
Kovu slowed for a short while to catch his breath. And breathed in deeply, it was then he caught another scent. A scent he had not thought he'd find again. Could it be? Zira's? He started approaching more carefully, his eyes darting about the darkening land. There was a faint rustling in the bushes nearby. Kovu carefully approached. And with no warning, the next thing he knew, Vitani was on top of him, having pinned him to the ground.
"My aren't we getting slow?" She teased as she brushed past him, and started making her way to Pride rock as if nothing had happened.
"Vitani! Where did you run off to? We had the whole Pride looking for you!" He exclaimed. But as the playful gleam in her eyes softened, he expected he wouldn't like what he might hear.
"I miss her Kovu, it was a hard passing to accept. So I... I visited her and Scar's favourite cave and paid my respects. Promise you won't tell anyone, they might get the wrong idea..." She said sadly. Kovu gave her a light nudge to make her feel better. "I promise" he replied.
The two of them made their way to the Pridelands once more and it wasn't long before Vitani's keen sight spotted Simba in the shadows and a few lions beside him. If there was one good thing that came from being an Outlander it was being used to the dark, making everything much easier now that they were in the Pridelands.
