OOC - Right here goes. Oh I'm hopeless at starting, LOL.
IC -
It was a hot, a very hot day in the Pride Lands. Kiara was lying down on a rock under the shade of a tree, lazily watching everything that was going on. Not much was going on so it seemed, everyone seemed to be feeling as lazy as her today. Kiara rolled over onto her other side. Oh how today was going to be so boring! Perhaps it was the heat today, it was hotter than usual.... Maybe the pride should all learn to swim so they could swim in the stream and cool off, and maybe there could be swimming games they could play.... Kiara laughed out loud, thinking of how her the pride, particularly her parents, the King and Queen, might react to the idea of lions and lionesses swimming. Then Kiara realised that the other lionesses were looking at her strangely.
Suddenly Nala came running down from Pride Rock. "Are we ready to go for our hunt?" She asked. The lionesses groaned. "Mum, it's too hot today, everyone's being lazy." Said Kiara, sharing her observations. Nala shoved Kiara with her paw. Kiara rolled dramatically in the other direction. "Well as the Princess you should set an example." Said Nala smiling sweetly. "Aww Mum, I don't wanna set an example!" "Come on everyone or we'll starve." Nala called to everyone. The lionesses groaned again. Malaika jumped up. "Thank you." Said Nala. "Come on everyone!" As Nala walked away all the other lionesses reluctantly followed her.

Simba stood on the edge of Pride Rock and watched his mate and daughter lead the lionesses to hunt. It was surprisingly warm, he knew that and his thick mane made him pant heavily. He did feel sympathy towards the lionesses having to hunt today, but there was no food, the cubs of the pride had eaten the remaining food, which wasn't much anyway. He turned and started down Pride Rock, he was going to patrol whilst the lionesses hunted. Save them a hassle for the rest of the day so they could just relax. With a disgruntled sigh he set off at a light jog towards the watering hole to start his patrol there.
A lone lioness, with her ear torn lurked just on the outskirts of the Pridelands, watching and waiting. "I will soon take over Pride Rock, take what's rightful hours my beloved Scar." Zira growled. "I have something that Simba and Nala could never turn down. I will make you proud my dear." She continued, a growl passing her lips as she spoke to herself and to the heavens.

Tojo was walking around the lands, he knew belonged to Simba. Was Scar dead? He should be, because the land was living. suddently he saw lionesses coming. Who were they? He didn't know. He slowly walked towards them, on the way tripping, as always.
Kopa was scared. He grew up in the Outlands, Zira held him captive. What will hapen to him?

The lionesses continued to walk. "Mum, who's that lion? He's not in our pride...." Kiara asked as she saw a shaddowy figure in the distance. "I'm not sure." Nala replied, she could see him too, she stopped walking. Everyone else stopped too. "Is it a rouge?" One of the other lionesses said. "Most likely." Said Nala. "Kiume, go and tell Simba there is a rouge. Everyone else, pair up to hunt, this lion could be dangerous." "We still have to hunt?" A lioness asked. "Yes." Said Nala. "Or we'll starve. So fan out."
Kiara was just about to go and find a partner to hunt with when Nala pulled her back. "You're with me." Said Nala. "No goofing off." "Me? Goof off?" "You're my daughter, I know you. Come on." Nala continued walking, she walked to the right rather than in the center, she hoped to avoid the rouge. Kiara lazily followed.

Simba paused when Kiume approached, "Sire, there is a rogue in the lands, Queen Nala sent me to get you."
"Lead the way." Simba said, his tone authorative, Kiume nodded and led Simba to where the figure was lurking. "Thank you Kiume, go back and hunt with the others. I'll be fine." Kiume nodded respectively before padding off.
Simba lowered his head and approached the rogue, a growl on his lips, he dived forward and stood in front of Tojo, "Who are you and what are you doing here?" Simba demanded.

Kovu prowled around the Pridelands on patrol. He had his ears pricked and his sharp eyesight navigated him through the deserted land. The ground burnt each of his paws as he paawed his way across the ground. He leapt up on to an abandoned rock and scanned the horizon to see if there was anything there, friend or foe. Right now, he enjoyed the solitude. It was a chance for him to be alone with his feelings and there wasn't much time for that on Priderock where there were hungry mouths to feed, cubs to babysit, lionesses complaining, and that was only to name a few. So whilst he could enjoy the peaceful quietness, he did.
"Of course there's not going to be anything here. There never is." Kovu muttered to himself as he hopped down and continued his walk. So then why was he here? He knew the answer to that question, he used the patrol as an excuse. He paused as he had arrived at his destination. It was a small clearance surrounded by lush green grass that brushed against Kovu's underside. It seemed even if the rest of the savannah was suffering from the very harsh weather, this one spot would forever be perfect. It was after all, where Kovu had first met his mate, Kiara. Memories of their first time together flooded his memory, their introduction, them playing together, her gigglish and excitable character, her attempt to teach Kovu tag. And then he remembered her, he remembered Zira. And despite all she had done, he couldn't erase the memory of her fall. Despite the fact that she was the enemy, he felt an overwhelming sense of grief when he thought of her. Kovu squeezed his eyes shut, trying to rid himself of the image. She had been there all his life, she had cared for him when they were left to rot in the Outlands.
"Enough!" Kovu shouted, his cry piercing the tranquillity. But it seemed there wasn't even a bird in the trees and bushes that were disturbed, the silence simply took over once more. Kovu panted slightly, he didn't want to remember and so he continued past the clearance, without glancing back and he continued his patrol.
Vitani slowly padded across the field, at Nala's orders to fan out, she had taken the extreme right wing. She moved slightly ahead of the others, to form a curve. She prowled slowly and carefully treading with caution as her ears flickered, listening to everything going on around her; the soft flap of a butterfly's wings, the scurrying of a rodent getting out of the way, and a thump from a clumsy lioness. At the sound of that, Vitani gave an annoyed huff and she angrily whipped her head around and shot the lioness a silencing glare, her piercing eyes tacitly threatening her if she dared to make one more noise that might scare precious game away.
The hunt was all that really mattered to her now. She was reminded of the days she would lead the hunting parties in the Outlands, in comparison hunting in the Pridelands was a cub's game. Nonetheless, food had been scarce the past few weeks and so she wouldn't take any chances. Her pupils dilated and her heart began to pound quicker and fluttered in her chest. Her muscles tensed and her senses sharpened. Her underside almost scraped the ground and certainly would have done had she been as well-built as the other lionesses. Though her slender figure did bring some advantages, it meant she could stealthily travel from one place to another and she always had the advantage of surprise. No one ever expected much from her, and boy were they in for a shock when she went in for the kill.
She slowed slightly, looking to Nala for the next move. Vitani hadn't caught sight of a decent meal on her side, and for a second that rodent seemed like a very tempting option. But Vitani didn't move and remained crouched in the long grass.

Suddenly a wildebeest ran pastnNala and Kiara, and then another and another. "We hit the jackpot." Said Kiara, smiling. She imagined how impressed everyone woukd be if SHE managed to catch one. "Yeah but we've got to catch them first." Said Nala. "We run after them....." Nala paused for a moment, waiting for the right time. "NOW!" And with that Nala took off, chasing after the wildebeest. Nala was good at running, very good at it and was neck and neck with the wildebeest in no time, one of the three wildebeest was faster than Nala though, and was charging ahead. "Challenge accepted." Nala muttered under her breath and pushed herself to run faster and faster.
Kiara ran as fast as she could too, she had obviously enherited her mother's raw ability, but she was also clumsy and not as well practiced. She had to try very hard not to trip up over her own paws. She was just a short distance from the rear ends of the two wildebeest at the back of the group. Kiara pounced, falling on the ground with a THUMP, but she had hold of the wildebeest's tail! The wildebeest, startled, charged at full speed ahead, with Kiara dangiling along at the end. She screamed.
Nala looked as she heard her daughter scream. Then she saw Kiara dangiling on the end of the wildebeest's tail. Nala's eyes widened in shock. "KIARA!" She cried. Then she realised the fast wildeebeest was getting away! Nala shrugged it off. 'Doesn't matter.' She thought. 'Kiara's more important.' Nala took a running jump at the wildebeest, and managed to land right on it's back.
"Mum what are you doing?" Kiara screamed. "Helping you!" Nala yelled back. Then she bit the wildebeest right in the neck.
OOC -Sorry, I'm not familiar with how animals hunt (nor do I care to be to be honest) so I just wung it.

Vitani's eyes widened with pleasure as the Wildebeest ran past the first group of lionesses. Startled and scared they were scattered and Vitani used this to her advantage, that means that they wouldn't anticipate a second attack and she and a further two lionesses beside her kept hidden in the grass waiting for the charging wildebeest to get within range. Her tail twitched and the dry grass hid her dull, sandy coat perfectly unlike the gold coat that was characteristic of the lions from the Pridelands. Her yellow eyes seemed to gleam with pleasure as she watched her meal run right into her trap. The ground began to vibrate from the heavy gallop of 5 wildebeest. Vitani's muscles tensed as she prepared to pounce and she looked to the other lionesses, giving them a nod to signal the attack.
All of a sudden the 3 lionesses gave loud roars and leapt out of the grass at the wildebeest. Vitani managed to catch the youngest on his underside her claws tearing into the soft pink flesh, he was the only one who had been touched, the rest had scattered before the lionesses had managed to reach them, and even with his injury the youngest wildebeest still managed to keep up with his herd. But killing them hadn't been Vitani's plan, she had sent them back running to Nala and Kiara where they would be effectively trapped and surrounded. She padded softly following the wildebeest, still keeping close to the ground and slowly running towards the heat of the hunt. She wanted to charge right into the fight but she and her other two mates were working as a team to build a wall, stopping anything from leaving and if she left, their strategy would collapse.
Kovu heard the signs of a fight nearby, and realised the lionesses must have found some food by this stage. He wasn't alone anymore and he wasn't sure if he wanted to be alone with his thoughts anyway, frankly at this point in time they scared him. Having already made up his mind, Kovu began his walk back to Priderock. He spared one last glance at the little patch of heaven where he and Kiara had met for the first time before he turned away, his tail lazily swishing and swatting at pestering flies that accompanied the paonful heat of the summer.

"Simba, is that you? I am so happy to see you! I thought you were dead! Is your uncle dead?" And a thousdand more questions came out of his mouth. He was the only grown up lion in the pride with blue eyes, so Simba had to know him. But if not - Well, Tojo could just remind him. "It's me! Tojo. I alwas got my self in to some trouble, always tripping over things. You must remmeber me! We played alot!"

Simba narrowed his eyes warily before nodding slowly, a slight smile coming onto his face before it became a frown. "What are you doing here? I thought you were dead. Scar is dead, I'm the King and Nala is my Queen and we have a daughter name Kiara. Anymore questions?" He asked amused, knowing his friend well.

"THat's great. Well, the Great Spirit took me here. And even after all these years - He doesn't rule me very well. I hurt myself all the time! But you know me, I am very clumsy. And what about all those lionesses who supported your uncle? Did you drive them out?" Tojo said.

"I did when I took over but they're back and part of my pride now. Kiara's mate was an outsider and you know me and Nala. We do anything for the people we love. Although there was quite a fair bit of trouble leading up to it. Come, we'll go back to Pride Rock and wait for the lionesses to return from the hunt. I'll explain everything on the way there." He said setting off and starting to fill Tojo in about the many events that led up to where they were today.

"Let go of his tail!" Nala cried. "Are you crazy?" Kiara asked. "No just let go." Kiara did as she was told. At the same time Nala jumped of the wildebeest's back. The wildebeest collapsed on the floor in a heap. "Is he dead or just unconsious?" Kiara asked. "Dead." Said Nala. "Come on let's take him bac...."
Suddenly the ground started shaking. Nala and Kiara looked at each other, then they looked ahead. "Right, ready to try again?" Nala asked as she saw five wildebeest running towards them. Kiara didn't have time to respond as Nala ran off, as Vitani had planned, trapped them. "Kiara!" Nala hissed to her daughter. Kiara came over to Nala. "Other side!" Nala hissed again.
Kiara trapped the wildebeest from the other side.

Vitani came up and watched and the other lionesses prevented the wildebeest from escaping from the other side. Now she could barely rein in her excitement, and so with a quick look at the other two lionesses beside her, she saw they were ready. Vitani closed her eyes, took a deep breath in, feeling the balance she and readying herself for some action. And then she pushed on her hind legs and she flew across the field. Upon reaching the prey, with her claws extended, she threw herself onto the wildebeest she had already injured. After all, it was unlike her to leave a job unfinished.
She let her claws sink into the juicy rump of her prey and held on, whilst the frightened beast tried to rid itself of her. However, she managed to bring it down after another lioness, she couldn't see who immediately, helped her bring the creature down. Vitani put the animal out of it's misery and the frantic calls finally stopped. She looked up to see how the rest were doing and her sight became focused on what Nala and Kiara did. She had never seen them properly hunting and so was intrigued.

Kiara stood wondering what to do. Nala leaped into action, she jumped up, extended her claws and dug them into the wildebeest's neck, causing it serious pain. It collapsed on the ground and died. Seeing what her mother was doing Kiara tried to copy. She jumped at the nearest wildebeest, and fell on the floor with a thump, quite literally head over feet. "Why can't I hunt?" She gave a muffled moan. Nala laughed, her daughter was hopeless at hunting. OOC - I'm really sorry I know I'm ruining it with my awful posts!

Once Simba got back to Pride Rock and had finished explaining everything to Tojo he padded to the edge of Pride Rock and scanned the area, he could see the darkened silhouette of the hunting lionesses and hoped they had been successful and that Nala had taught Kiara some more. He then turned to Tojo, "How long are you planning on staying here?" He asked his friend.

And- " Tojo wanted to coninue, but he didn't notice, that he walked up a rock, and now he fell off. "CURSE YOU! Great spirit, learn to be a leader!" He roared at the sky.

Vitani moved away from her own kill and over to Kiara and Nala.
"That's quite a bit for us to haul back." She commented, proudly looking over the surplus of meat that had been caught. Not that Vitani ever ate very much, being used to scraps, her stomach could barely take more than several mouthfuls. But that didn't mean the young lioness didn't enjoy a fresh kill as much as the next.
Kovu finished the long walk back from an uneventful patrol. He had his head down and his eyes trained on the ground. All he wanted to do was lie down in the shade of the great rock.
It was the unfamiliar smell that put him on guard. As soon as he approached, he immediately smelt an intruder. He heard voices from behind the rock. He tensed himself a pounded around, his teeth bared and his claws drawn. He was ready to take the lion down but then he saw Simba and instinctively straightened himself. If there was danger, Simba would've dealt with it. But he was still confused as to who this lion was.
"Simba?" Kovu asked, wondering who the strange lion was.

Kiara got up off the floor. Then she stood, mouth agape at the five wildebeest collapsed on the floor. "Have we got....." Kiara counted under her breath. " SIX whole Wildebeests?" She asked stunned "Yes." Said Nala. "If you count the one you rode." Then Nala giggled. "Ugh!" Kiara groaned, closeing her eyes and hitting herself with her paw. " just you wait 'til I tell your father." Nala continued. " No Mum please! Don't tell Daddy, he doesn't need to...." "Oh hello Simba!" Nala interupted.
Kiara turned quick to see if her father was there. "Muuuuuummmmmmm....." She growled. Nala nearly fell over giggiling, pleased with her trick. "Come on let's take these back. Kiara you take the youngest as it is the smallest." Kiara grumbled. "Do as I say." Said Nala. "Vitani, Malaika, you take the biggest two." She continued. "Nia, Imani, you get the others." Then Nala began to lead the way back to Pride Rock.

Simba glanced past Tojo and Kovu as he noticed his pride returning, with a smile he bounded down to Nala grinning, "We've got a visitor Nala! Come with me, I'll send Kovu to get the prey." He said with a grin nuzzling his mate.
Zira followed the pridelanders at a distance, her gaze locked mainly on her only daughter. Vitani seemed to have fitted in quite well much to her dismay.

Nala nodded in agreement and followed Simba.
Kiara was having a difficult time lugging the wildebeest back to Pride Rock. She wised she was stronger and faster and better at hunting. 'Maybe if my father let me toughen up a bit when I was younger....' She thought to herself.

Vitani dragged the heavy wildebeest behind the others, the one she had been chosen to drag was heavier than the others and Vitani was tough but not strong and so she was soon at the back of the group of lionesses. Vitani dragging as much as she could but even so she quickly slipped behind the others. Vitani quickly gazed around the horizon, glimpsing at Pride Rock. It seemed there was a guest that had arrived but Vitani from so far couldn't see him, only the scent of a male lingered behind, Kovu was there as was Nala and Simba and all of a sudden, seeing Kovu there and having her here made her feel a little out of place. They had grown up together, fought together and now it seemed that he was above her. It seemed he was thriving where she was struggling. Admittedly feeling a little jealous, she called out to Malaika, whom she saw was also struggling slightly with her own catch yet still managed to be at least 50 strides ahead of her.
"Why don't you go and get Kovu? He'll gladly help out I'm sure." Vitani suggested. To which Malaika happily complied and ran off. Leaving Vitani alone at the back of the group. Kiara was almost out of range but Vitani caught a glimpse of her tugging a patheticly small load of food. That certainly looks difficult She thought to herself sarcastically out of spite. It was times like this that she felt as if the world treated her unfairly and sometimes it was just all too much. At least she would have never been left behind in Zira's pride. She fell onto her kill, waiting impatiently for Kovu to get down here.
"Yes, that would be me." Kovu said in response to Tojo. He kept the hurt out of his voice, he had to admit it, it still hurt when they called him an Outlander. Kiara and her family never did it to him, but he knew that the other lions and lionesses who had travelled here after a certain incident involving a certain lioness were still called Outlanders, even though there was no such pride now. The were supposed to be Pridelanders but it seemed not everyone was accepting them as openly as Kovu had optimistically thought when he first joined and when SImba finally accepted him.

Simba growled at Tojo playfully when he complimented Nala. "Paws off, she's my queen." He smirked nuzzling Nala gently again.
Zira who had continued following behind saw Vitani be left behind and decidedly slumping across her kill. With a smirk she padded up to her daughter. "Hello Vitani, would you like some help carrying that prey?" Zira smiled.

Nala laughed as Simba growled and told Tojo to back off. Then she rolled her eyes. "I may be your queen but I can still pin you." She said playfully.
Kiara tugged and pulled at the wildebeest. She really was utterly hopeless. She was sure the other lionesses thought so too. They would probably kick her out of the pride if she wasn't Simba's daughter. Oh what would the Pridelands ever do if she was queen?
OOC - Do any of the other lionesses see Zira at this point?
