OOC- Just Vitani at the moment.
Simba grinned at Nala and purred affectionately, "Would you like us to show you around the Pridelands again or are you okay alone or anything?" He then turned to Nala again, "Where's Kiara by the way?"

Nala sighed deeply. "I've got her bringing back a wildebeest." She said. "The hunt didn't go so well.... I'll have to tell you what happened later. We got a good amount of food though, six wildebeest. Vitani and Malaika are both very good hunters." Then Nala looked out into the distance, seeing the lionesses struggling with the load. Nia and Imani were nearly at Pride Rock with their Wildebeest, though they were carrying three between them. Malaika wasn't far behind. She couldn't see Kiara or Vitani.

Vitani whipped her head around at the sound of that voice. That voice she had known and loved all these years. That voice she had thought she would never hear again. She took up a defensive stance whilst she struggled to decide whether she should be glad or furious with her mother.
"What do you want Mother?" She demanded, her voice low and she almost mumbled the wlrds in her uncertainty of how to act. All in all she looked like an embarrassed cub which was not the desired appearance she had wanted in the slightest.
Malaika passed Kiara and saw her struggling with her own load.
"Kiara! I'm going to get help, Vitani's back there as well." She called before going to get Kovu and hopefully the help of some other lions.

Kuli sat in a separate cave with the elders and the cubs. She was finishing the story of how Simba won back Pride rock from Scar - again - when, as usual, every cub ran forward and asked, "Can we have another story?" "Can we hear the story about how scar died again?" Asked the youngest and smallest cub. I just finished telling it!" Kuli said. "But I really like it!" Annoyed, Kuli nevertheless felt herself giving in to those big green eyes, but was rescued at the last minute by Saracina, who said, "Alright, little one. It's time for you to go outside and play, so that one day you can become a big strong hunter." "Like Nala!" She said, and fled with the others. Kuli watched as all the cubs left the cave, and sighed. "I want a cub of my own." "Then you need a mate," Her mother, kuna, said from the back of the cave. "Yes," Sarabi added as she left to look after the cubs. "I hear there's a new male in town. Hadn't you better go claim him before anyone else does?" Kuli scoffed. Like that male would be interested in her: a fat lioness who couldn't even hunt! Then again mother wasn't exactly skinny, and SHE had found someone. "Maybe," she replied, then took a deep breath. "I'm hungry. I'm going to see if they're bringing the kills back." Then she left the cave. Kuna and Sarabi exchanged a look. "You really ought to talk to her about that appetite of hers," Sarabi said. "She won't listen to me. Besides, I was just like her, at her age." "No you weren't. You had an appetite, of course, and you were big. But there's big, and then there's Kuli. If she gets much bigger she won't even be able to look after cubs." Kuna thought about that for a while. "Perhaps we could both talk to her together?" "Of course," Sarabi said.
Outside, from the ledge above the cave, Kuli spied the chain of lionesses bringing their kills back to pride rock. One of them was Kiara, struggling along with her own little kill. Seeing her childhood friend brought a smile to her face. Gingerly she crept down the mountainside toward her friend, being careful lest she trip over her short, chubby legs and go rolling down the slope. Sticks and blades of tough grass tickled her enormous low stomach, and she had trouble seeing where she stepped because of her big chubby cheeks. She suddenly became glad she got to spend most of the time inside with the cubs. Kuli could see Vitani further back in the midday haze, and immediately her chest tightened. The first time they had met, Vitani had stared at her, and had been cold and distant with her ever since. Kuli suspected it was because she'd never seen such a large lioness before. She suspected Vitani took her as the symbol of pridelander gluttony. Well, there wasn't much she could do about that. Besides, it looked like she was already being offered assistance, though she couldn't make out who it was from so far away. When she finally reached Kiara, she was just as hot and puffing as her friend. "Hello sister!" she said, smiling despite her discomfort. "Well done with your kill! Shall I help you drag it home?" She placed her paw on the wilderbeast, and then the smell got her. "Although... We COULD drag it under that tree and eat it ourselves. I for one am famished, and you look exhausted. What do you say?" She winked mischievously.

Zira smiled, "I don't want anything, it's just all the other lionesses have gone off. I'll help you then leave." Zira said. With a dismissive shrug of her shoulders she padded closer to Vitani and took some of the meat in her jaws, making the load lighter for Vitani.
Simba nodded, "Tell me when we've all eaten, we could go off for a walk together. We've not done anything like that in a while." Simba offered, glancing down at his mate with a small smile.

Kiara sighed as Kuli congratulated her on 'her' kill. "It wasn't my kill." She corrected. "This was the smallest wildebeest that Mum asked me to bring back because I am obviously the most pathetic hunter who can't even carry a full-grown wildebeest back to Pride Rock." Kiara was frustrated, visible by her tone. "They were all Mum and Malaika and Vitani's kills, but NONE OF THEM were my kill." Kiara sat down on the ground, feeling very miserable and frustrated. "I just can't do it Kuli, I can't hunt! How am I supposed to be a leader?" Then she sighed. When Kuli suggested taking the wildebeest and eating it for themselves she was very tempted to take her up on the offer, after all there were plenty of wildebeest to go around and doing something outrageously naughty would be fun and she was so very fed up right now, but what kind of leader would do outrageously naughty things and steal food. "I'm sorry Kuli, we can't." Kiara sighed again and then stood up and picked up the wildebeest. "I wish we could but.... we can't." She said, mouth full of dead wildebeest. "You could help me carry this though." She said as she proceeded to drag the wildebeest along the ground.
"Okay then." Nala agreed. Then she yelled "COME ON KIARA!!! VITANI!!!"

Kuli picked the wilderbeast from the other end, taking some of the load. She had pity for her friend, and felt stupid for assuming this was her kill. "At leasht you CAN hunt. Can you imagine me ash Queen? 'Oh hail the great and powerful Kuli! Keeper of cubs and cronesh. Able to eat an entire elephant in one sitting.' You'd make an excellent queen, in my opinion. Anyone can hunt, but it takes a special kind of brain to rule. Maybe you should try to rule with your brain, rather than your brawn?"

Kiara thought about what Kuli was saying. Maybe..... "But I'm not really very brainy either. I'm just an over-grown cub who wants to have fun, how can someone like THAT rule, even with her brain? Everyone expects me to be like my parents, but I'm not...." Then Kiara heard her mother yell her name. She sighed. She let go of the wildebeest. "I'M COMING MUM!!" She yelled back. Then she picked up the wildebeest again and continued walking.

"Hey, I"m just telling the truth! No need to.. Woah!" Tojo tripped on something and landed on his back. "Oh brother." He said, and got up. "Well, Nala, I just wandsered around, wandering, what's going on here. I'm still a lone lion, so I don't really have anything else todo, but to take care of birds."He said, and laughed about the joke he made. It seemed funny only to him,at least he though so.
"No need. I remmeber these parts. Is my spot taken? You know, where the birds were?" Tojo asked to Simba.

Vitani heard Nala's shout and turned to face her mother. She was but a call away from getting a whole team of back up to fight Zira off. She might've been able to bring down the lioness herself. Though despite all those options, Vitani remained as still as stone. She knew what she ought to do but had no idea what she wanted to do. Her mind almost hurt her with the amount of confusion that it was generating.
"Please go, before anyone finds you. The reception here isn't always as friendly as it would seem. There's a small cave towards the old border between the Pridelands and Outlands, I'll meet you there later." Vitani said. She had made her choice, she had helped her mother. But Vitani felt no guilt that followed, after all, why shouldn't she? The lions and lionesses of Priderock still referred to her as the Outlander, and if they weren't going to accept her then who else would?
Kovu saw Malaika approaching he stood up as she came close by.
"Kovu, Vitani requests that help be sent to help her carry the kill." Malaika said.
Kovu nodded and stepped down the stony pathway to the plains. With a sudden burst of speed he charged across the plains, happy to be away from Priderock. Sometimes, it felt nice to be on your own. He was aware that Malaika was behind him but he could pretend he was alone for those few seconds. He approached the first bunch of lionesses, though that was Kiara and Kuli not Vitani.
"Nice Catch" He said slowing down, at looking over Kiara's kill. "How was it?" He said approaching her, to give her a nuzzle.

Simba laughed a little at Tojo's reference to the birds before shaking his head, "No, the jobs not taken. You can have it." Simba said easily, sitting down beside his mate and watching Tojo with an amused smile.
Zira smiled and gave Vitani a quick nuzzle before racing off to the cave she'd been told about, on the way though she paused as she passed a familiar section that looked out on the area but concealed her from sight unless you were close by, with a sad smile she padded over and hopped onto the ledge section, poking her head into the cave, she saw with a sinking heart claw marks in the far wall. With a smile she padded over and placed a paw over the claw marks. "My dear Scar." She whispered to herself.

"It wasn't mine." Kiara sighed. "I've just been explaining that to Kuli. Mum just requested that I bring the smallest one back. Even SHE knows I'm useless." Then Kiara walked away, leaving the wildebeest behind. She walked back the way Kovu had came. She went up to the top of Pride Rock. "I'll be in my den."
"Where's the wildebeest?" Nala asked.

Kuli looked at Kovu, suppressing the jealousy she felt towards her friend, Kiara. She wished she had a mate. A little annoyed her friend had left her with the burden, and with aching legs and back, she said, "Erm... I don't suppose you'd mind bringing this back on your own, Kovu? I'm feeling a little winded, and you're much stronger than I."

"Umm...." Kovu hesitated. He was supposed to be helping Vitani, she had always been there for him and so he should really be there for her in return. After all, they had been raised as brotherand sister. They would play together, eat together, hunt together and it only seemed natural that they help each other.
On the other hand he wanted to chase after Kiara. She was upset and her confidence was low, Kovu knew she needed support and as her mate he ought to be beside her.
Then there ws the matter of the wildebeest that had been abandoned here. The day was quickly coming to an end and it would be wrong to put his emotions and feelings above his duties as a King-to-be. His people came first and they needed to be fed.
Kovu stood motionless for a while, his mind seemingly tearing him into three. He grabbed a mouthful of Kiara's wildebeest and began tugging as hard as he could.
Vitani meanwhile was slumped on her own wildebeest. Where in Heaven's name is that King of Beasts? She asked herself. She really couldn't deal with the weight and the bright red African sun was starting to set.
She pulled herself up to go see how far Kovu was on his way here. Then she saw him dragging someone else's kill. The kill was small and Vitani recognised it instantly. Kiara. So it seemed her brother had chosen his mate over her. The traitor. And with that she turned andfled, leaving the carcass and making her way to a long-forgotten cave. Priderock didn't seem to want her and so she didn't want them. She had never needed them anyway, she could hunt... Unlike some..

Zira poked her head out of the cave as she heard approaching footsteps and noticed her daughter, despite being rather cold hearted about most things, she always protected her children and seeing the hurt and anger on her face Zira's motherly instincts kicked in, "Tani? What is it?" Zira asked padding towards her daughter, nudging her cheek gently.
Simba made to call his daughter back but after noticing how upset she seemed the King turned to Nala, "Maybe you should talk to her. I'll go help bring the remaining prey in." With that he bounded down pride rock, paused and saw Kovu carrying a small kill and so padded past until he saw a kill left abandoned. Nala had told him which lionesses and been bringing back the kill and as he mentally ticked them off he realized this was Vitani's kill, with concern etched in his face he called for Kovu, "Leave Kuli to carry that kill, come here." He bellowed, his tone giving away his worry. He knew Kuli would either struggle or run off with it but as he called for Kovu, he didn't care. Simba was King and as King he looked out for his pride and if a member was injured, killed or like in this case missing he took it on himself as something of high priority.

Nala sighed deeply. She got up and followed Kiara into the den. "Kiara?" She called.
She found Kiara slumped up on top of a rock. "Kiara, are you okay?" "I'm fine." Said Kiara sulkily. "It's the rest of the pride who won't be, I can't even hunt," "Hunting takes time to practice and master." Nala said calmly, sitting down on the rock by Kiara. "But I've been trying to practice for weeks! It's hopeless!" Then in a small voice she said "I'm hopeless." "You're not hopeless!" Said Nala. "You're wonderful and good at lots of things." "Like what?" "Well you've always come up with the best games, right from when you were little. You're a fun lioness to be around. You're smart, your brains are a lot stronger than you think." "But what good is games if I'm supposed to be a leader?" Kiara asked, looking up at Nala now. Nala sighed. "I had a feeling this is what it's all been about lately. You're putting too much pressure on yourself to do well, you're being critical of everything you do and not giving yourself the time you need to practice with things like hunting. If your father had let me I'd have taught you how to hunt and run and catch and all those other things right from the beginning. You're only just starting to learn, just a little later than everyone else. Tell you what, how about I teach you some stuff? Better late than never" Then Nala had a sudden brainwave of an idea. "I know, Vitani could teach you. I'll speak to her about it after we've all eaten. Now come on, let's go back out."
Nala got up and left the den. Kiara wasn't sure how she felt about Nala's bright idea. Vitani? She was an excellent hunter but.... Kiara couldn't help but feel Vitani had some sort of resentment towards her. They never really bonded since Vitani and Kovu had joined the pride. Kiara got up and followed her mother back outside.
"Where's Simba?" Nala asked Tojo.

Kuli was torn. She could see Vitani was missing but they'd left her alone with a nice little juicy wilderbeast. Part of the reason she had such an appetite was because of her nose: it was VERY keen, and food smelled absolutely delicious to her. But, despite being slow and clumsy, it also made her the best tracker in the pride. Taking one last look at the wilderbeast and sighing with resignation, she called out to Simba and Kovu, "Do you need some help, your majesty? I could sniff out a trail for you."

Nala sighed. "He must have gome to help bring in the kills." She said. "I'll go and hurry things along." And with that Nala climbed down from the top of Pride Rock and went to find Simba.
"Hi." Kiara said to Tojo.

Vitani let her mother nuzzle her, neither pulling back nor returning the nuzzle. She was still confused, she didn't know what she wanted, she didn't know where she wanted to go, who she wanted to be with.. She could always ask Kovu for advice... but then, Kovu would not choose his mother over his mate, he had already proven how little he regarded for his family in the previous events regarding Kiara and Kovu screwing everything up for the Outlanders. Vitani was fully aware of what her mother was capable of, but at that moment in time; was there anyone else who she could turn to? Nuka was dead, Kovu would take the side of the Prideland liars, Simba's pride had always seen her as an outcast anyway. Then there was her mother. And so despite the feelings raging within her, Vitani decided to stay and moreover, allowed her mother to stay.
"What happened then? O-On tha-t night?" Vitani managed to choke, struggling to cope with the feelings she had felt following her mother's fall. She had to know. If her mother had been alive all this time, then why had she never revealed herself to Vitani at least? Where had she been all this time? And why would she choose to make her appearance now if she hadn't done so before?
Kovu dropped the kill and ran up to Simba. He detected the urgency in the King's voice and didn't hesitate in hurrying over to the scene. He arrived beside Simba and stood in front of the corpse of a wildebeest. The kill was fresh, so from this morning's hunt. He raised an eyebrow in confusion, Simba called him all this way because a wildebeest was left there? If it was any help, Kuli was probably feasting on the other corpse.
"What is it Si-" He started before it struck him. There was no lioness. And it didn't take long for Kovu to deduce who had gone missing.
"Vitani" He uttered quietly, a rising panic in voice. Why had he been so stupid? She had asked for help and he had left her and now she was gone! He could only hope she would look after herself until she was found.

"We need to find her, I think she'll only be best with me and you searching, if she's run off she won't want a huge group looking for her. You and I split up and then if she still isn't found then we'll gather the Pride to look for her with us." Simba said to Kovu, looking around for any hint as to where she might be. "You circle Pride Rock and any nearby places she may be able to hide, I'll go to the outlands in case she has gone there." Simba commanded before turning and heading towards the outlands.
Zira shrugged, despite her cold heart she did feel guilty about not showing her children she was still around, she didn't want them to have suffered and mourned but it was the only way. Zira bit her lip when Vitani asked where she'd been before starting to tell her daughter what had happened. "After the fall I ended up washed up right down the river, a lion found me, not one I really expected to see help me. He was an ex pridelander you see. He said his name was Kopa and I remember Scar telling me that Nala always used to say she wanted to call her firstborn male Kopa and he was the double of Simba-" She said Simba's name bitterly. "-Anyway he helped me and I stayed with him for a while, I was weak. After about a month we set off back to the Pridelands. I wanted to see you and Kovu, he wanted to prove to Simba he was still alive and worthy of being a King, you see after Kiara was born he told me that his parents ignored him which is why he left and started life as a rogue, he was a young adult when I found him but still wanted to be loved and protected by a mother, that is what I became to him. But now I'm back, and we got separated, he's still in the outlands. I need to return to him soon." Zira explained to Vitani, "Come with me if you like, you can meet him. He reminded me of Nuka when he first saved me." Zira finished with a fond smile.

Kuli grunted, then sighed. Turning to the wilderbeast, she said, "Well, that makes that decision easy," and, using her teeth, dragged it under a nearby tree where she could eat in private.

Nala waled along, noticing that a kill was missing on her way. 'Kuli.' She thought as she sighed. She looked around, surely she saw Kuli underneath a nearby tree. "KULI!" She called. Then she sighed again. It was so stressful being the queen of all these mad lions and lionesses. "KULI!" She called out again.

Kuli's stomach was awfully full by the time she finished the smaller wilderbeast. It was painful, but it felt soo good. She'd just picked a femur up in her teeth to crack it open and get the marrow - she might be a glutton but she wasn't wasteful - when she heard Nala calling her name. Startled, she raised her head, bone still in her mouth. "Yesh, your highnessh?"

"It was only the small kill, " Kuli said, then saw the worry on her queen's face. Lurching to her feet, Kuli winced, but nevertheless waddled on her tiny legs to Nala's side. "Is anything wrong, my Queen? Are you alright?"
