Our Future is Bleak

Ajabu was walking through the barren wasteland that was once, amazingly, full of lushious green grass and plants. "why did this have to happen to ME. Why not, maybe, a hundred years earlier?" he was about to lay down to get some rest when he heard shouting

"SOMEBODY! HELP!"

"What the-" Ajabu got up and ran to investigate, while turning invisible just in case it was a trap. When he got to the source he saw, what seemed to be, a dead lion with 3 others around him. One of them obviously really cared about him.

Ajabu moved cautiously closer, unsheathing his claws for self defence. He was now in the group, next to the dead lion. No one could see him, well, that was until he wasn't focused enough and lost his invisibility. Now they could see him, claws unsheathed and in a defensive stance, it almost looked as if he had killed the lion...No. No, no. I'm in totally the wrong position here! Damnit!

[Nakisisa]

(OOC: OK these might become slightly more frequent, read on for more information
NOTE: This happens about an hour or two after Odongo's Death, You'll understand later on.)

Odongo slowly awoke, his eyes adjusting to the bright light surrounding him.
“Where... Where am I?” he said aloud and curiously, not expecting a reply.
“Where are you not?” came a familiar voice from somewhere nearby. He quickly span around to find the source of the voice, seeing nothing he spoke again. “Who are you? Where are you? And Where’s... WHERE’S Eeve?!”
“What?! You don’t remember your own brother?” the voice spoke again as a shadow appeared not to far away.
“O... Odion!” Odongo shouted happily running towards the forming shadow. When he arrived he saw his brother, for the first time in many moons, “ODION!” He shouted happily, as he tackled his brother to the floor, “It’s so good to see you!”
“Get of your brother Odongo” said a female voice, “Its not like we ever left you!” finished a masculine voice.
“NO! It can’t be! Mother! Father!” he said running towards two more rapidly forming shadows, immediately nuzzling them both lovingly, “Where am I?” Odongo finished, calming down so he could speak to his family again.
“You’re dead.” Said Odion, Odongo looked around in shock “WHAT!!!” he screamed, taking a long look at Odion, immediately noticing a major change. “And why do you look like me?” Odongo finished with a confused look
“Why don’t you take a look at yourself in that waterhole over there” said Nakisisa pointing towards a waterhole that he had never seen before. He did as he was told and walked over, closing his eyes as he peered into the waterhole.
He slowly opened his eyes, again noticing an immediately change, He had pure White fur and piercing red eyes. “Impossible.” He muttered. He was distracted moments later, his mother was speaking, “My son, what is wrong? You seem Unhappy.”
Odongo turned back to his mother, “Is it that visible?” he said sadly “Not that I don’t want to be here, it’s just...”
“We know.” said Odion sadly, “we’ve all been watching over you. Brother you have a choice...”
“You can stay here with us, for eternity watching over the lands feeling no pain...” Said his Mother
“... Or you can go back and live your life out properly, like it was supposed to be, With Eeve and the rest of your friends”
“I would like to go back, I love her and she would hate me if we never told each other that” Said Odongo Happily “You understand don’t you...”
“Of course” the rest of his family said together.
“Mother Father, May I?” Odion said as he got approving nods from both his mother and father. He then disappeared
“Where’s he gone?” Odongo asked his parents,
“To return you to your body,” They said in unison “Well Miss you” Jata said to her son, nuzzling him “Well always be with you” said Nakisisa also nuzzling him. “well see you again some day” he finished as Odongo Blacked Out, just managing to say “Goodbye”

--- The Real World, Away from Odongo’s Body ---

Odion’s Ghost appeared just away from his brother body, “God’s Return Him and Keep him well until it’s his time to depart and be with us eternally” he prayed, feeling a strong breeze, he knew it worked, “Goodbye Brother, Were with you, Always” he said as he disappeared again, returning to his parents to watch over his brother once more.

--- The Real World, Odongo’s Body, 1 Hour after Odion’s Ghost had Dissapeard ---

(OOC: Odongo has kept his white coat and red eyes from the spirit world, all should be explained soon)

A bright flash of light.
He knew he returned, and he could feel great pain along his sided, and a great weight on him. The weight was a lioness, he knew who.
“Eeve” he said allowed without realising. His breathing and heart rate returned,

He was alive.

(OOC: Ye sorry about that, Odongo’s Parents and Brother were used (Nakisisa, Jata and Odion) were used for effect, and i wanted to put in this somewhere but I’m not saying anymore just yet, there’s still allot to do.)

[One hour before Odongo's awakening]

Eeve couldn't bring tears to her eyes. Perhaps it was all this radiation sickness and poison around her. Perhaps it was the fact that she hadn't cried since her mother was still alive. But for some reason, she couldn't cry for Odongo.

It was strange, really. Yesterday, she didn't care about anyone but herself. She would survive, keep herself alive. But now...now, she was falling apart over a lion she'd met only hours ago. Maybe it was because he was her first friend. Maybe it was because he was kind to her, when there was no one else there to be otherwise. Maybe it was...

Eeve's eyes widened when a feline appeared before her out of nowhere. Her eyes first saw the claws on the ground, seeing as she was looking down. The newcomer was standing with his front legs apart, claws unsheathed. Her eyes slowly traveled up to his face, and a snarl slowly formed on her lips. This feline had the ability to appear and reappear through thin air, just like Vizi. And it was standing that way....

Which meant any attack from this feline was going to appear as if it had happened from thin air...

Two and two clicked together slowly in Eeve's head. Her burning eyes narrowed viciously and her ears flattened to her head. She climbed off of the young black lion's body and sank into a walking crouch, coming towards the new creature menacingly. Her claws unsheathed themselves and her muzzle lifted to show a set of perfectly white teeth dripping with her own venom.

"You....you killed him..."

Without warning, she leapt forward, fangs bared and ready to kill.

"You...you killed him."

just at that moment, the lioness leapt at him, teeth bared and claws unsheathed however, Ajabu knew something like that would happen and quickly smacked his paw against her muzzle, making her go off course and fall to the ground. Ajabu knew that he was stronger than anyone here, it was a sort of mutation to help catch bigger prey that others normally could not, however, he could use that strength in a fight if he really needed to. He quickly turned to face the lioness.

"Damn! I knew this would happen! I. Did. Not. Kill. Him! I was simply caught in the wrong place at the wrong time! Look, don't make me fight you! I don't want to, but I may have to!" Ajabu closed his eyes and turned invisible just in case

Moto looked at the newcomer whom he had obviosly heen before, but he didn't know everyone else couldn't see him.
"Wait he's telling the truth, he didn't kill him." Moto ran over to him.
"It's alright freind, I know you didn't do it." He was looking right at him even though he was invisable.

[Zorayda]

Eeve was swatted down quickly with a powerful blow by the newcomer who dared tell her lies.

"LIAR! I know it was you who did it!"

Then suddenly, the lion turned invisible once more. Eeve prepared to blindly go after him when Moto, the first horned lion, stood in between her and the newcomer.

"Wait he's telling the truth, he didn't kill him."

Eeve shook her head. "What?!" she snarled. "He's got invisibility powers! He killed Odongo! How else could this have happened?" she screamed, her words becoming louder and louder as she spoke. Then Moto walked over and talked to thin air, where the lion had stood. It seemed like Moto could see the newcomer...

"You...you can see him?" she asked, her anger giving out to confusion.

Still invisible, ajabu walked right up to the lioness that tried to kill him. "At least SOMEONE knows I'm telling the truth, and if he can see me, then it's always good to have a friend like that. I don't want to fight, however, if you do, then please, carry on."

[Zorayda]

Eeve stopped trying to attack the lion, and her muscles all relaxed.

"I'm...I'm s-sorry, he just died in front of me and y-you were there and I d-don't know what to do..." Eeve sank to the ground. "He's...he's..." she couldn't bring herself to say the words. "Odongo..."

And she looked at his body, tears coming from her eyes finally. Her glow reduced to a dull aura, her body too tired and worn to function. But...

Through the film of her tears, she could see that Odongo's beautiful black fur was...it was turning white...her ears perked up suddenly at a sound, a sound she thought she'd never hear again...

A heartbeat.

"Odongo?!" He was alive...? It couldn't be... it was impossible...

((Okay Naki, time to be alive again ^^;)

"What... alive, how?" Odongo was clearly standing in front of us.
"It seems as if there is enough going on here without me; I'm not needed here." He said to himself, as he turned and started to walk away.
"Bye Yagi." He said as he passed her, he wanted to say her name one last time. He didn't know why he just did.

Ajabu looked at Odongo, who, now, had white fur, and just let his jaw drop. "he's-he's alive? But how? that's impossible..." he was lost for words at what he was seeing, and decided to let himself be seen instead of being invisible. "hey, guys, what are we doing to now?"

[Nakisisa]

he heard several animals speaking as he awoke, wondering what was going on he proceeded to get up forgetting about the open wounds down his flank "ARGHHH" he growled as he fell onto his side again "That's gonna leave a mark" he said optimistically
as he fell he started hyperventilating again, although this time, within a few seconds his breathing returned under control, and his sides stopped hurting, as his wounds healed, again he tried to stand back up, succeeding this time.
"How on earth?..." he said aloud, Or off it he thought "Did my wounds heal that fast?" he said, noticing he had three distinct Black slashes across his body where his wounds had been, then realising his fur had changed color,
"How?... Why?" he said aloud now even more confused by his physical changes.

"Who are You? How do you know My name? Where am I? and How did you make my fur change color?" He demanded, He was even more confused than he had been, all he remembered was his parents, his brother and himself, even he'd changed

[Wacipi]

Shiriki backed away as the lion awoke. He sat, unsure what to do or say as the lion demanded answers.

Tuweni tilted her head as one of them changed color. She trotted forward. Depite the fact that the whole group appeared uneasy, Tuweni wanted answers. They were simple questions, though the answers may not be the same: What had happened to the world? Where were the humans? How long had she been in stasis? The last was one she wanted to know the most.

Stopping a few feet away from the group, Tuweni tugged at the collar on her neck with her paw. Damned thing, she growled to herself. She looked up.

"Um..." she said, ears back, "I hope this isn't too bad of a time."

[Zorayda]

Eeve stood with a shocked look on her face, a look that would have been hilarious if it hadn't been for the situation at hand.

"You're...alive...?" She was so confused. And now Odongo seemed to have no memory of what had transpired over the entire day.

"We're...well, we aren't close friends yet," she said, looking around at the others with melancholy orange eyes, "But...well, being that most of us haven't encountered others in a long time, we've become quick acquaintances, at least." Eeve looked around at the others for agreement.

"I'm...I'm Eeve. We're in Africa, and these are all Shiriki, Vizi, Yagi, and...well, it looks like Moto wanted to leave...and this is--this is Ajabu," she said the last name darkly, lingering doubts still in her mind about him though the evidence proved otherwise.

Then the hidden creature that had been spying on them appeared before them. Eeve flattened her ears and remained silent, waiting for someone else to take charge for once.

Moto was watching the group from atop the hill.
"I think I'll just watch them from over here, in order to avoide the drama, but close enough in case they need me for anything."
Moto was looking at the group talk, and the newly white lion in perticular.

A.J heard His name being used. However it was used, not as you would normally say it, but it was used darkly. He turned to the lioness that said it and sighed. "How many times do I have to tell you that I didn't do it? It's not much to ask for is it? A little respect for my truthful comment."

((I won't be back for about 6 hours))

[Nakisisa]

Odong stood there watching as Eeve told him about the group and where he lived, he could feel something strange in the deepest part of his mind, as if he knew all this, but it was locked away behind a wall,

by the time Eeve had finished odongos eyes were but an empty stare, he knew this only if he could remember it. But try as hard as he could nothing would come, appart from a smell, the smell of fresh blood, and it was different than the carcus that lay on the ground
Odongo turned and began to walk off, towards the smell of blood, his tail flicking slightly.

"Oh, great. Now he's just completely ignoring us. This is going to be a LONG day. Anyone have a suggestion? Anybody?" A.J turned and started shouting at the lion that had just walked off. "Hey! Don't just walk away! There are questions to be asked, answers to be given!"

As Moto sat down he began to drift slowly into sleep. When he fell asleep he thought he would begin to dream, but he did not. He felt hiself leave his body, he opened his eyes, and he was hovering ten feet in the air, and if that wasn't enough he saw his body on the ground below.

"What happened to me? Am I... dead? No I can tell I'm not dead." He hovered over to the group.

"They can't see me. Well this gives me a good seat without being seen." He hovered in the center of the group.

"Hey! Don't just walk away! There are questions to be asked, answers to be given!"

"Was he talking about me or Odongo?" He thought outloud, but obviosly no one could hear him.

[Zorayda]

Eeve was exhausted. All that emotional trauma and suddenly the trouble evaporated? She felt as if every ounce of adrenaline was spent in her body.

Nevertheless, she dragged herself along to follow the now-white colored Odongo. "Where...are you....going?" Eeve panted, winded and very tired. Her brain could not keep up with the events so quickly. Everything was happening so fast today...

"Please, Odongo....let me...stay...." Eeve gasped out, and suddenly her eyes rolled back in her head and her lids fluttered closed as she collapsed, instantly falling asleep at the beautiful white lion's side.

"Oh, geez..."A.J looked at the lioness who had just collapsed. "When was the last time you ate? Or had a rest? Seems like a long time, and it seems like you might kill yourself if you don't do something about it." he ran in front of the White furred lion. "look, just stop right there. Can't you see that she cares about you?" he said, motioning to the lioness. "You've lost your memory. Just stay here for the moment.

[Nakisisa]

Please, Odongo....let me...stay....
Odongo Started breathing heavily, his brain hurt, and now things were going from bad to worse

Just stay here for the moment
His breathing became even heavier, deepening at every breath the lion took, until"ARGHHHHH" *More a battle cry than anything else* the pain ceased and memories came flooding back, seeing a lioness on the floor next to him, "Eeve" he spoke quietly "AJ" he continued "AJ We have to help her" as he knelt down beside her to see if she was alright.

[Zorayda]

Eeve was floating in a state of half-consciousness, and she fought to stay awake. She noticed that a white figure loomed above her, calling her name.

"Odongo...?" she said. "Can you...can you carry me?" Normally, Eeve would never ask such a weird or girly question. But, here she was, half-delusional and mostly unconscious, asking the pure white lion to do something so silly. She flicked an ear and dragged in a breath drowsily, inhaling Odongo's scent.

[Nakisisa]

Can you...can you carry me?
"And why would I say no?" he said lovingly, gently picking her up by her scruff, and carefully taking her back towards the group, where someone had water. "Sorry I missed your name, can you hive Eeve some water please?"

before they started to walk away Moto walked over to his body.

"I hope this works!" He jumped into his body. *Gasp*

"Wow, I'm alive and in one piece." He looked down at the group.

"I hope to see you soon... Ngoma my love." He smiled, and looked up even though he couldn't even see the sky.

A.J quickly whipped his head around to the sound of a rock breaking behind him. "Someones watching us....i'm going to check it out." he turned invisible and walked towards where the sound came from. He saw part of a tail behind a rock and unsheathed his claws, in case whatever was behind the rock was hostile. Cautiously, he walked closer. He wondered why he was being so careful if he was invisible, so he sheathed his claws again and looked behind the rock. What he saw made him stop in his tracks, and just stare. Coming back to his senses A.J became visible again. "Im getting you to help, hang on." he then realised that he had just appeared out of nowhere. "Sorry if I shocked you." A.J lifted the lioness onto his back and started running back to the group.

Eeve blinked her orange eyes as Odongo lifted her bodily onto his back, her dull tawny fur looking ratty next to the beautiful snowy white.

"Thanks," she said gratefully, and began purring in his ear. "Odongo...maybe we should look for fertile land," she noted, looking around sleepily at the others surrounding them.

"There has to be somewhere that's less irradiated than here...and since we're all together, we should have a better chance at survival...maybe you should tell everyone..."

[Wacipi]

Tuweni sat down. There were too many things happening around her. She hadn't even had the chance to ask about the humans. Her collar bothered her again. Using her teeth, she tried to tear it off. Her attempt was useless. Sighing, she settled down and watched everything.

There has to be somewhere that's less irradiated than here...and since we're all together, we should have a better chance at survival...maybe you should tell everyone...
"Ww... What? Me? why do you want me to tell them, its you who is more of the leader" he said, sniffing the air "These lands, i can feel them, the smell, its invigorating, yet it smells of death, he said walking back towards where the group first met

When they arrived Odongo placed Eeve on the ground, a new smell hitting his nose, "Be good while im gone, don't try anything stupid, he said giving her an affectionate nuzzle, running away from the group, he shouted "Ill be back" after a minute he spoke aloud again, running dead out, "That better be what it smells like"

Riddos was not amused.

He hadn't eaten that day, which made him angry, people didn't like him when he was angry. Not that they would like him if he wasn't, of course. His shimmering yellow eyes gazed in the distance, there was a light source at the horizon. It would've been too faint for normal creatures to see, but to his sensitive eyes that weak light was bright enough to irritate him. With a feral snarl he sprinted towards the source, teeth bared, and leaving quite a dust trail.

Whatever was causing it was going to pay. Dearly.

Riddos was not amused.
