A Shadowed Past

Kiona lifted her small head. Licking her lips, and looked at Cheetabosa. "Thanks..." She said. She let her small paws carry her over to Meri. "What now? Are their any other cubs here?" She asked wonderingly.

Cheabosa smiled at the cub, he was thinking how well brought up she was, he wondered if Bahreeka thought the same...

Kiona sat, waiting for a reply. In the mean time, She watched a very big white lion in the distance with a black and red mane...

A large white lion sat in the shadows of a tree, watching the small pride-like group. He had been driven out of his pride, and was looking for one to...join. His eyes lay on a white lion...

[Kirsui]

Meri had closed her eyes momentarily, listening to the sounds the nature made around her. She enjoyed herself, but was eager to keep going. If the group jkust got up on move again...

Meri sighed and smiled weakly. A slight gust of wind blew, causing the grass around her say slightly.
And her smile faded away. Meri lifted her head up quickly and sniffed the air. She had caught a scent she didn't know, a scent of a lion. She turned her head, looking around with her only eye, trying to see who had caused the scent.

And then she saw it. A white figure not so far from her and the cave entrance. Meri stared at the other lion, a white lion like herself. But this one was a male.
"Zander!" Meri called her friend inside the cave, not daring to turn her eyes away from the unknown lion she saw, hoping that Zander would come outside to see what she saw.

Amaiza smiled gently to the older lion. "I'll let you and your son be for a moment... and then if you would like to join our group.. please don't hesitate to join us on our journey." She nodded as a signal she was returning to her group and trotted back over to them. But in the process her eye caught the sight of a white lion. But it wasn't Meri. Infact it was some unknown lion she had never seen before. "Uh.. can I help you?" She asked him as politley as he could. She wasn't quite sure about this lion. He was just sitting there, staring at someone or something. She followed his gaze and her eyes landed upon Meri. Did they know each other? Or did he just find her attractive?

(Man... I haven't posted in this RP in a whiiiiile... Gonna make this short and awkward.. >.< Have to...)

Fire had been observing everything from his surroundings, thinking about all of the things that had happened in the past and what had happened in the near past. Especially when he was with Amaiza and all. He was laying near Zander and he felt like he just had woken from a deep sleep for some reason. No matter... At least he was here now.

[Lorien]

Zander watched as the cub finished, smiling a bit, yet the smile soon turned to a frown when he heard Meri's voice. It seemed troubled. Quickly, he made his way out of the cave and saw what the problem was and that Amaiza was already talking to the stranger.

He took a few steps forward, putting himself closer to the lion than Amaiza was, that way if he wasn't friendly, she wouldn't be the one to get a blow. He didn't want to sound angry or rude, but feeling responsibility for the group made him seem more hostile toward the strange male than he otherwise would be. There were a lot of lions (and cheetahs) that depended on him, and he wouldn't let any harm come to them if he could help it.

"Who are you, and what do you want with our group?"

((Kioning is gone now...))

Kiona looked up at Meri. "Who's 'sat?" She asked with big, cute eyes.

Amaiza turned around to look at the others, then turned back around. She was about to say something else to the lion but he had dissapeared. "Well.. that was... odd.." She said and scratched her head before turning to walk back to the cave. As she walked past Zander, she said to him. "Oh, and i don't think those two lions are coming.. so we may aswell leave now." She smiled at him contently before reaching the cave.

Meri had looked down at Kiona for a moment, then turned again to look at the white lion. But to her surprise, the lion wasn't there anymore, he had left. She lifted an eyebrow, forgetting Kiona's question as Amaiza walked towards the cave and spoke to Zander.

Meri smiled at Amaiza's words, happy about the fact that they were ready to get on the move again.
Yes well, they actually hadn't moved that much yet... Since the group had gotten larger all of a sudden. Meri didn't really mind having this much others around, it was safer than in a smaller group.

Meri streched herself and stood up, looking around as usually. Her tail swayed slowly behind her while she waited to get walking again.

[Femi]

Denali could smell the lions in the surrounding areas as he got what seemed to be closer and closer into their territory. Slowly he walked, keeping his head near the ground and sniffing for anything familiar or threatening. Nothing seemed to intimidating to him, so, lifting his head he picked up his pace until he finally came across the group of lions.

The young male paused, ears pricked forwards, head up, eyes locked on the group. Would they accept him? Would they chase him off? Or would they just let him be and ignore him...it was too soon to say.

Bahreeka looked around, everyone was just about ready to go. But that was when she yet again noticed someone new. It was a lion, not the same as the one that had recently appeared then disapeared. She trotted over to him and grinned in greeting. "Well hey there, you come to join us too?" She asked before bowing her head. "Name's Bahreeka...."

[Silver]

Kiona accepted that Meri was not going to listen to her question. "Where are we going?" She asked Bahreeka, hoping HE would listen.

KioningWas still watching, but out of sight from the small pride. He wondered if they had a leader...could he...no. That wasn't possable. But, he didn't want to waste this chances for survival. He walked into the lght, his white fur glowing with sunlight, and his black mane sparkling. His eyes were once again on the pride, but they floted to Meri. no he told himself, and kept walking,

Fire saw Amaiza approaching the cave and then smiled at himself on the inside. Surely she would tell him what had been going on down over where he couldn't figure out. "Hey Amaiza!... What's been happenin'?" He said in his cheerful mood and then by accident, with a big yawn and a small stretch.

Amaiza sat down next to Fire as he asked her what was happening. "Seems like you had a good rest.." She noted out loud before starting her update. "Well.... I meet two lions... father and son, who are in a fight.. blah blah blah... i tried to be the best councilor i could.. blah blah blah. Then i was returning and a white lion appeared, asked him who he was, blah blah blah, and he dissapeared, then i told Zander that we could leave asap because the two liones i met probably wouldn't be coming with us, and if they were they would tag along behind us. Then i walked over here, and SHA BAM! You have me giving you an update." She said cheerfully to the lion. "What's been happening in here?" She then asked him jokingly.

Bahreeka heard a little voice pipe up and she looked down at the cub. "We are going on a big adventure.." She replied simply to the little cub. She didn't want to explain the whole story when Kiona most likely wouldn't understand anyway. "It'll be... fun!" She said to the cub contently.

[Femi]

Denali smiled at the girl who had approached her, and the little cub as well. He was actually rather surprised at how open and accepting they were of him, especially because he was a lone male.

"Denali," he said to Bahreeka with a coy smirk on his face. "And yes, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me join your Pride...er...party- whatever it is." He looked to the cub and then back up at Bahreeka. "And what sort of an adventure is this now?"

((Is Bahreeka a lioness?))

[Fire]

Fire was smiling as he listened to Amaiza, her voice sounding so cute as she went on talking and talking and talking. Almost like a babbling brook, only, it was more interesting to listen to. When Amaiza finished her update, his ear perked up with a laugh. "Sha bam?.. Well, at least I know now that I put the excitement in your life." He laughs even more and then nods with what was happening. "We should get going, though."

(OOC: No, Bahreeka is a cheetah. )

Bahreeka laughed slightly at Denali. "Well.. yes, i'm not sure whether to call it a pride or a party." She then lokked up at the lion when he asked about the type of adventure. "Well, if you want the full story you're gonna have to go speak to Zander over there, and while you're there ask him if you can join us." She motioned towards the 'leader' of their group.

Amaiza chuckled at Fire. "Yes, that's right, sha bam." She said and continued to chuckle. She then stood up as he said something about them getting a move on. "Yes, we should... shall we approach Zander?"

[Lorien]

Zander chuckled slightly behind Amaiza. He had gotten up and started to move in the direction of the new young male, when he overheard the conversation between Fire and the young lioness. "There's no need to approach him. We're going to leave now, as soon as I find out who this lion over here is." He gave the two a nod before passing them and making his way to the energized cheetah and the new face.

"What is going on over here?" he asked, trying not to sound angry, but all of these new faces were starting to get to him. Especially the white male who had disappeared. He wanted to move as soon as possible.

Bahreeka looked up when she heard a familiar voice. It was the great Zander. "Hey there Zander! Well.. it seems to me that today it is raining lions and lioness... This here is Denali..." She said and smiled, stepping back so that the two could introduce themselves properly.

[Kirsui]

Meri looked around. She heard the voices come from inside the cave. Apparently, the group was finally getting on the move. A smile rose to the white lioness' muzzle as she kept gazing around the area.
She lifted an eyebrow. Did she see sparkling white fur?

Her thoughts were interrupted as yet another lion came in. It was surprising how many lions were on the move. However, when Meri turned to seek the white flash of fur she had seen, it had already gone. Her expression changed, it was clear she was suspicious and confused at the same time.

She said nothing about it to the others, however. Instead Meri turned to look at this new male lion, Denali. She watched in silence as Bahreeka stepped aside, leaving Zander and Denali to introduce themselves to eachother. Meri stood still, watching, waiting...

[Silver]

"Ooooooh! I loooove adventures!!" Said Kiona, getting up and running around. She started to chase her tail, but when she caught it she yelped in pain. "Owch..." She said in a muffeled tone, spitting out some of her own hair. A shadow fell over her. As She looked up, she saw there was a very large white lion towering over her. Kiona cowered, seemingly shrinking to helf her normal size. She bolted, and his behind Meri's paws.

Kioning smiled. "Sorry, little cub." He said. "Hi." He said, pading his way to Meri. "Um...what is this...pride?" He asked. it was a very odd combanation of cheetahs and lions. with only one cub...

[Kirsui]

Meri looked down curiously as Kiona hid under her. When she heard a voice speak, she lifted her head quickly, staring blankly at the white male lion that she had seen nearby before. Since she had moved her head fast, her hair had moved away from her face, revealing the blind right eye and the long scar.

With a almost unnoticeable move Meri shook her hair back to her face, to hide the marks of her half-blindness.
"We are not a pride" she replied calmly, examining the white male closely.
"We are a group of wanderers that got up together and started a journey."

Then she shut her mouth momentarily, her left eye narrowing slightly - of course only the left, since the right one was hidden behind her hair. She quickly glanced at the others to see if they had noticed the white male's arrival before she turned to look at the male in front of her again.
"Who are you, anyway?" Meri asked, a suspicious expression on her face.

[Silver]

"Kioning. I left my pride in serch of...something more." He said, shaking his head. "Don't worry, I'm no enemy." He said quietly.

Kiona let out a very small whimper, but crawled out from under Meri, knowing she should at least try to act a little older than she was. She looked up at Kioning. "Did you know you look like Meri? your both white..." She said, hoping her voice was stronger than she felt.

[Kirsui]

Meri's eyes narrowed slightly, or alteast the left eye narrowed. She didn't know what to think of this... was he called Kioning?

"Did you know you look like Meri? your both white..."

Meri glanced down at Kiona when she heard these words. She couldn't help but chuckle slightly at the small cub. But then she lifted her head again to look at the white male. True, they were both white. But in Meri's case, the white fur was something that continued in the family line. Her mother had been white, and so had her grandmother, and many others before her.

Meri thought about Kioning's words. He had said he was no enemy, but Meri wasn't ready to believe that right away.
"I'm called Meri" the white lioness finally introduced herself, pointing then down at the cub on her feet.
"This little one here is Kiona."
Meri smiled faintly, though the smile didn't reach her eyes as she looked at Kioning.
"And no, she is not my cub."

[Fire]

Fire had seen both the three newcomers and perked his ears up. Zander probably wouldn't be to happy about this since he was the one that wanted to go. And plus, this was supose to be a journey of little proportions as far as lions went. He went over to Amaiza and Zander with a little bit of seriousness behind his tone. "What should we do?.. We keep getting interrupted by these ones and I think that you want to leave as soon as possible, right Zander?" He said to him.

Amaiza watched as Fire came up to her and Zander. "Yes.. i say we leave right away, incase more lions turn up." She rolled her eyes at the thought. "I'm tired of the sight of lions at the moment.." She added on, looking around at them all. "So shall we leave?"

[Silver]

Kioning noded. "Do you wish for me to accompany you, Meri?" He asked, looking at the group. The sun was just above the horizn. "Its' going to be a nice day. May I travel with you?" He asked. A slight breeze ruffled his black mane, and he suddenly felt very uncomfertable and out-of-place. He hoped she said he could come with them.

Kiona smiled. "Your nice, Kioning. Bye!" She said, running off to find someone to play with. The little cub bumped into Amaiza's leg. Rubbing her forhead with one paw, she squeeked, "Sorry!" She just looked up at the lion, wondering...nothing in pitucluar.

[Kirsui]

Meri smiled weakly, glancing at the other members of their suddenly grown group. Others were restless, they'd soon head off for move again.
"It'll be fine with me" the white lioness replied. Her head turned again so that she was able to see Kioning.
"However, you should introduce yourself to others too."

She watched as Kiona ran off, stumbling on Amaiza's feet. A faint smile appeared to her muzzle, but it soon was erased as a blank expression came back.
"Come, they won't bite.." she chuckled, still with a blank expression as she motioned Kioning to follow her. She walked over to the others and stopped near Zander.
"We have someone who'd want to join us" she said shortly before she fell back into silence that was so typical to her.
