A Shadowed Past

Eva smiled as she was introduced to the different group members. The cheetah for whom she'd hunted expressed a simple 'thank you'. She returned the nod to him. The the lioness called Meri was introduced to her. "Hello," she returned her greeting. She saw that her hair covered part of her face. She was beautiful and strangely quiet. Eva wondered why. She didn't dare ask though... Maybe she was just shy. Whatever the case, she wouldn't find out for awhile.

Bahreeka expressed a hyper greeting and surprised Eva. "Oh, uhm... Hello." She chuckled softly, remembering a time when she had such energy as this. Her eyes once more looked over everyone, memorizing who they were. She then awaited Zander's command. He seemed to be the leader of this group and so she would wait for him before doing anything.

Bahreeka raced over to Amaiza. "Umm.. sorry to interupt mai.. but umm." She paused as she looked at the two lions. "We were going to leave quite soon.." She added on, returning her attention to her friend. "Are they coming aswell.. or?" She asked Amaiza. Amaiza simply replied "I'm not sure.. just give me a moment and i'll be with you." She smiled and ushered Bahreeka away before turning back to the lions.

A small lion cub opned her eyes from where she had been asleep on a rock. Her golden pelt glistened in the sunlight. Yawning, Kiona's eyes were still blurry from sleep. She walked sleepily over to the other lions, whom were much larger than her. Understandable, She was quite young. "Hi. where are you going?" She said after hearing the phraze, are they coming aswell?.

Meri smiled at Bahreeka's hyper mood. It was fun to see someone so excited about moving on.
Then a little voice made it's way to Meri's ears.

"Hi. where are you going?"

Meri turned her head in surprise, only to see a small lion cub nearby. She blinked her eyes confusedly. Where had the cub appeared?
"Umm... Hi there, Little One..." she said to the cub with a smile, glancing at the other members of the group.
"We're going to move on from this area" she explained. "We're kind of a group of wanderers."
The white lioness lifted an eyebrow. She was glad that the cub couldn't see her right eye.
"I'm Meri" she said with a smile. "Where are your parents, Little One?"

"hi there, Little One." Said a voice from behind Kiona. Kiona nodded to the lion, hearing the reply to her question. "Your really prety." Said Kiona to the white lioness. She wished she was that nice looking...Her green eyes shone with the thought of being that good-looking when she was older.
"I'm Meri" said the lion called Meri. "I'm Kiona. And, thanks for the welcome, but please, please don't call me 'little One." Said Kiona, hateing the pet-names.
"Where are your parents?" Asked Meri.
Kioni's looked around wildly. "There not here?" She asked in alarm.
"Wheres my momma?" She asked in a small voice, scared and suddenly lonly. She didn't hear much of

Bahreeka heard a sound and watched as a little lioness cub padded over to Meri. She trotted over to them slowly and bent her head down so she was eye level with the cub. "Well hey there!" She said with a smile. "What's your name?" She asked her before lifting her head back up. She then turned to Meri and whispered in her ear, "Where's her parents?"

Meri smiled at Kiona.
"Ok, Kiona" she said. "I won't call you Little One if you don't want to."
She then looked at Bahreeka.
"Not here..." she whispered to the cheetah, making sure the cub couldn't hear her words. "Might be dead or something... I don't know and she won't propably remember."
Then the white lioness turned to Kiona again, smiling slightly.
"I don't know where your mom is, Kiona" she said. "I've never seen you or your parents before."
She smiled a bit more.
"But if you want, I'm sure you can come with us, to join uor little group."

Kiona nodded... She dipped her head in sadness, wondering why in the world her parents would abonden her like this. She jumped as a lion came down to eye level with her. "K-Kiona..." She said, still scared.

Meri smiled lightly at Kiona's reaction to Bahreeka. The hyper cheetah must have made Kiona a little scared.
Whcih was actually no wonder. It was surprising for Meri to see such a little cub come willingly to a group of unknown lions - and a few cheetahs.
"Kiona, meet Bahreeka" Meri introduced the cheetah to the lion cub, smiling slightly and turning to see if the rest of the group had noticed Kiona had suddenly come there.

Kiona nodded. "hi, Baahreeka" Said the usually outgoing, strongheaded she-cub lion. what a large group of Lions...She thought. "Are you a cheetah?" Asked kiona.

Bahreeka nodded at Meri's reply. She then turned her attention back to Kiona. "Oh, sorry sweety, didn't mean to scare you." As Meri introduced her to Kiona, she smiled. "Nice to meet ya Kiona. It would be a pleasure if you came along with us." She added on the last bit hearing the white lioness' last words. She bent down and whispered in the cubs ear. "We're going on an adventure.." She then brought her head back up. "And yeah, I am indeed a cheetah." She then made a head gesture in the direction of Cheabosa. "And so's he."

Kiona nodded. She liked adventured. Her tail swished at the thought of doing something fun for a change! She decided to voice her thoughts. "I like adventures! Can I come?" She asked excitedly.

Bahreeka nodded. "Of course!" She exclaimed with a grin. "I'm sure Zander won't mind.." She then added on. "Would you like to meet the rest of our little gang?" She then asked Kiona, looking around at everyone.

Kiona nodded vogoursly, wanting to meet everyone she could.

Cheabosa watched with mild interest, he heard the conversation and it was curious that this cub did't know her parents whereabout, though he did't know much about lions, he did know they looked after their young... yet here was this little one.

Kiona looked around, suddenly unbearabilly nervous. Her stomach growled with hunger. She stopped walking, and said to Meri, "Meri, I'm hungry. Do you have any...anything?" She asked. She realized: She didn't remember the last time she ate.

Bahreeka smiled. "Well.. how about we go meet Cheabosa. There might be some food leftover from his meal.." She replied as Kiona mentioned to Meri that she was hungry. "How about it?" She asked the cub sweetly.

[Silver]

Kiona nodded with a smile. She was not that devistated from loosing her parents...she hardly remembered them. But...She was hungry.
"Who's Cheabosa?" She asked.

Bahreeka smiled. "Cheabosa would be the other cheetah in our group." Bahreeka motioned her head in the direction he was sitting. She padded slowly over to him. "Chea, this is Kiona. Kiona.. this is Chea." She smiled as she introduced them. "Hey Chea, would you happen to have any food left over from before?" She then asked him, since Kiona was hungry.

Cheabosa looked at her and then the cub and indicated the rest of the 'food' it was too much for a single cheetah to off eaten even if he'd been starving "Sure, right there... help yourself little one" he told them in a friendly enough manner.

[Silver]

Kiona smiled greatfully. She walked over to him. "Thanks..." She said, bending and taking a bite of the meat.

Bahreeka smiled. "Thanks." She said to Cheabosa. She then lay down next to him and whispered in his ear, so that Kiona couldn't hear that she was being talked about. "She doesn't know where her parents are, and she's gonna stay with us." She smiled. "Just thought i'd fill you in.

Cheabosa nodded and whispered back "I see... she seems pretty ok over the fact though... pretty robust for such a little cub don't you think?" he asked her, glancing at Kiona eating.

Bahreeka smiled weakly. "Yeah.. but she doesn't actually remember them, or anything about them. She just knows that they aren't here anymore." She whispered back in reply, also watching the gorgeous little cub eat.

Cheabosa gave a small nod in acknowledgment "I see... I guess it makes her lucky then not to remember then..." he glanced over at the cub before looking back to Bahreeka lowering his voice even more "And even luckier not to of met any that might eat her..." he said glancing back at the cub, very small and helpless she looked.

Meri watched as Kiona started eating.The cub was so cute, so little... Thw white lioness let out a sigh, wishing she could be as little as Kiona was, not having to worry about anything.

Meri lifted her eyes from Kiona, seeing how the two cheetahs were whispering to eachother. Momentarily she wondered what they were speaking about, noticing then how they looked at Kiona all the time. That made Meri assume the subject of the whispering was Kiona.

Meri turned then at Zander.
"I'll be waiting outside" she said. "Come and get me there when we're ready to go."
And with that she got up on her feet once again and walked outside of the cave. She laid down to some tall grass not too far from the cave entrance and placed her head on her paws, listening how a faint wind made the grass sway.

OOC: Anyone know if Riley's coming back?

BIC: Zander had watched as the cub happened upon their group, but kept his mouth shut. He supposed that they would need to take her in, overhearing that she didn't know where her parents were. He sighed slightly, not really knowing what to do with a small cub around. The journey would be dangerous...but perhaps it would be more of a danger for the cub to be left to her own, few, devices. Going into his own thought, he stared out of the cave, not really looking at anything in particular.

He was brought from his mind when he heard Meri speak to him. He turned to her, smiled and nodded. "Yes, I will do that, Meri." He looked back at the others, seeing that the cub was now eating. He then turned to Eva, who had also been quite quiet during the whole ordeal. "I suppose we should be off whenever the cub finishes her meal." He didn't know why he was telling this to her...but felt that she was probably uncomfortable with strangers and not talking to anyone.

Eva smiled as Zander spoke to her. "Sounds like a plan to me." She glanced over at the cub and she was eating. The group was getting larger and larger it seemed. Hopefully everyone could be ready to set out soon...
