Hey everyone! So our prom is coming up and I'm not sure if I want to go. Did any of you go to your prom (if you had one)? Did you have fun? Did you think it was worth it? If you didn't go, do you regret not doing so?

I didnt go to my prom because I didn't like anyone at my school, the same with college except that time I couldn't afford and my two beet friends weren't going. And I'm going to admit now, 4 years after my high school prom, I regret it now (not fully, but slightly).
That was me personally though. I'd advise you to go because you may regret it later, but it's entirely up to you.

I never went to my prom because much like Ruby I disliked my fellow classmates. I did however go to an Ex's prom, it wasn't the greatest of experiences. Everyone was getting completely drunk and needless to say people's true feelings for each other started to pop up, some people even threw up. So I can't really say I'd be bothered with a prom. That being said the choice is entirely up to you. Your experience might be very different from what most others have experienced. It could be absolutely mind blowing, or it could be absolutely god awful.
If you do decide not to go, you would want to be sure it's a decision you'd be happy to live with, no point not going and regretting it the rest of your life. You could always just go but arrange a lift so if you don't like it enough you can just leave. If it's a prom where alcohol will be involved then people might be too drunk to notice you left. That's what I usually do at parties when I get bored, wait till everyone's too drunk to notice then just head off.
Again, you're experience could differ.

I went to mine because I had a huge group of fun friends, and we had a good time just dancing and goofing around. There was drama to be had, for sure--girls went in droves to cry in the bathroom because some guy broke up with them. Good thing I was single at the time and had not a care in the world!
Honestly, go if you like dressing up and dancing and hanging out with any people you like from your grade. If you don't have any of these going for you, don't go! Prom is a supposed to be a fun experience and if you don't think you'll have a good time, you don't need to go.

I didn't go to mine.
Instead, me and a few close friends all went down to the open countryside with a few drinks. Was so relaxing and had a great time x3

I went to mine as well, I had some friends to go with, so it was actually fun then. There were some drama cases around, I'm sure, but I don't recall any specific one. I never had a relationship in school, so I guess that helped in my case, hehe.
It doesn't matter if you don't go, though, I'm sure I wouldn't have regretted it if I hadn't. All I can say is, trust your instincts. Just as Zor said, if you go with the intention of meeting with friends and have fun, then go for it, but if you feel you won't have a good time, there's no point in going.

Thanks for all the advice guys, I really appreciate it! I'm still feel a bit indecisive about it. I have a bunch of friends to go with, I just feel like it could be either a complete disaster, or a completely magical night. I'll let you all know if I decide to go or not.

Well would you look at that... I completely forgot about this! I guess it's time to reveal Eliora's magical prom night spectacular.
I decided to go, and got a dress about two weeks before hand. XD It was a beautiful deep green dress, with silver sequins attached all over it. It looked like someone had poured a bucket of sequins on it almost! There were a bunch of sequins at the top of the dress and then they got a bit more dispersed at the bottom half. I had my hair braided sort of like Elsa's (my hair is a dark-dirty-gold-blonde by the way) and we put a few sparkly pins in it. (I wasn't a disco ball I promise) I had my makeup done which was nice and I did feel quite pretty and received very kind compliments throughout the night! ^-^ That was fun. I went with a big group of friends in a limo and had a pretty good time. We danced to some of my favorite songs (Uptown Funk; it's just so hard to resist!) and sort of had a blast the whole night! Even though the DJ was mediocre, we made the best of it haha. Some of my friends got drunk which was slightly disappointing, but I expected it. Nobody got too crazy, and the after parties weren't awful (we left before they did). I was hoping there might be a romantic-Disney-princess-element to it (I'm almost positive I caught the guy I like looking at me a few times..) but oh well. All in all, I'd say I had a very good time and I'm glad I ended up going. I think I would recommend going to future generations, it''s an experience, and it's fun getting dressed up. My prom was fun, a bit slow at times thanks to the DJ, but still fun and I would go again if I had the chance. Thanks for all of the advice everyone, I appreciated it.
