We're all here because we like the lion king and/or we like roleplaying. Concentrating on the roleplaying side of things for a moment, there's a new RPG out called Pillars of Eternity. It's made by the people who made Baldurs Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Icewind Dale and those old style isometric RPGs. For you younin' gamers out there, think of it like Mass Effect (or more like Dragon Age, as it has the fantasy setting) but instead of a 3D game its isometric with beautifully hand-drawn 2D backgrounds. You can design your own character and play the way you want to play in an epic fantasy setting. Be good or evil. Oh and you can play as a hunter with a lion animal companion:). A little more background info: it's the second most highest funded kickstarter game to date. You can read more about it here: and watch the trailer here. It comes out in about 8 hours, my 5 am. Needless to say I'm very excited:D.

This looks awesome! It looks like an indie game but it's being developed by Obsidian? Interesting.

Definitely not indie. It's quite a big budget title. It just doesn't have 3D graphics and relies instead on hand drawn art, gameplay and story. The story's excellent, and it really is a RPG: I had to infiltrate a keep and get to the Duke. There were at least four ways to do so and when I finally got to him, he offered me a job! The other choice was to kill him. I chose not to work for him and so he attacked me, and I killed him. Really wasn't much choice at that point, but still, this game definitely has a TON of ways to approach each problem.
You also get to build a keep of your own. Every time you upgrade something you either get prestige or improve the keep's defenses. Prestige opens new quests and defenses help against raids, obviously. You also meet people who quickly become travelling companions and can do quests to help them on their missions. Eg. one of them is trying to track down his brother, who was fighting as a soldier in a war and was lost on campaign. Another is trying to track down an important tome. Truly a fantastic RPG:).
