Hey everyone.
Mpenzi here, but my real name is Amanda.
Obviously I love the Lion King. Been a fan since I was hmmm... I guess I was 3 when the first movie came out. I own all three movies, played the videogames, watched the Timon & Pumbaa show, read a couple of the books, and I saw The Lion King Broadway and cried immediately in the first scene. Memories were just so strong! Also went to the theater a few years back to watch it in 3D and that was amazing. Everyone, parents and kids singing along to every song.
Anyways, enough about my fandomness. Now for some other facts about me.
I'm an artist. Have been since I was little and pretty sure I always will be. Just recently started a profile in fanart.lionking.org. Tons of amazing artists there along with stories. I already have my character fursona and her family posted on there, but I will post them on here as well. Looking to collaborating with others to make fun stories.
I was born on Halloween. So naturally I love to dress up and I'm a creative person by default. I love to be a character and I even try to make my own outfits and costumes from time to time.
I have a mom and stepfather. An older brother and a younger sister and one stepsister. My father died when I was 17, so I really have a heart to heart with Simba in that respect. But everyone says I'm like my father and share a lot of his features, so the song 'He Lives in You' really touches me in a positive way.
Hmm... what else can I put about me that would be interesting.. um.... Oh!
What characters in TLK do I feel closest to?
• Simba - because of what's said above. Following in my father's footsteps and carrying on his legacy.
• Vitani - because she's very different from the other lionesses. Very tomboyish and I am very tomboyish. Always competing with the boys and showing a girl can be tough too.
• Nuka - because I know what it's like to live in the shadow of your siblings and feeling left out. Zira loved Nuka and I know my mother loves me, but my brother is more successful than I am and my little sister is my mom's perfect baby. It's hard to feel equal among them. But I love everyone just the same.
