Two best friends.....

Raven looked at mistiria and saw the awkward position her paw was in as mistiria tolled her she needed to rest. Raven then placed her paw on her scratch. It stung a bit so she decided to clean it off. She went and lied under another tree. The wind blew stronger once more and raven could scent the lion again. The scent was so weird like she was used to that smell. She scanned the area and didn't see anything. Then she noticed a weird figure in the distance. "Hey mistiria I'll be right back...um i need to get some...uh..water yep water!" Raven said smiling at mistiria. She then crawled off to the strange figure.

When Mistiria watched Raven walk off she thought for a moment about what could happen. She looked at the sky hoping that nothing happens to Raven brfore she comes back. She laid down again but on her left side and waited for Raven to return. She was about to lay her head down on her front paws as she waited for Raven. She looked around her as she felt and there was a strange scent in the air.

The figure stood tall and let out a nasty snarl as he pounced at raven. Grabbing her scratching her as he was taught to do when he saw an unknown cub. Raven tried to squirm out of his reach. The male smacked the cub in the face, as he was about to do it again he stopped. He could see the tears and fear in the cubs eyes, at that moment he realized it was his sister! He sat there trying to catch his breathe and looked at her. "R-raven I'm so sorry I thought you were..." He said letting out a sigh. Raven sat there crying not knowing how he knew her name. She knew not to run to mistiria because that would put her in danger as well. "Who are you..?" raven asked in fear at how big the male was. Meko was confused. Did she not remember him??

Mistiria heard the mayhem going on but then suddenly out of the blue it stopped. She heard a voice call her by name which made her think that the male lion was related to Raven somehow. Was this someone a brother of hers or some other relative to her. By the way this lion was acting she chose not to go see what was happening to her only friend. It was only when she tried to stand and the pain was gone that she chose to go check things out with Raven.

"Raven is everything okay over here. Excuse me but are you her to take Raven home? I could go back to where I came from sir if you are. I meant no harm to Raven I was just whaling out for her until her family came back," said Mistiria feeling that there was danger in the air for her.

Meko raised his eyebrow at this unfamiliar cub. "Yes i have come here to take raven home, as prince of where she lives. Anyway she would make a great huntress. Raven you will spend all day hunting once you hit the age, you can only eat the leftovers and must sleep outside of the den with the rest of the females. If you choose not to hunt you will be killed. Do I make myself clear..?" He asked looking at raven. She looked at him in hate, she didn't want to be forced to hunt. She also didn't want to go back home. "Well do you!!??" He asked in an angry voice. Raven was silent. "They were right about you...you are a waste!!" He said with a snarl as he looked at raven in a cruel way.

Mistiria stood if front of Raven who wasn't even daring to fight back. She was in front of Raven her own anger showing now. She was in her protective mood and that has not changed despite this brother of Raven's. She was not willing to just now let her go with him. She was not one to back down when threatened.

"I'm sorry but I'm not willing to just let her go with you with that attitude going on. I have been looking after her for you and your family and this is how you treat her. She isn't going anywhere with you family or not sir," said Mistiria sailing up for Raven unconcerned for her own safety.

Raven smiled when mistiria stood up for her, but was a little concerned about what her brother would do to mistiria. Meko looked at mistiria in a strange way, he then stuck out his claws and tried to smack her. But before he did, raven jumped in front of her letting meko smack her. "Raven!! He yelled. Why did you!? He asked confused. Fine I see how it is...He said picking up mistiria and raven by there tails. Your coming as well!" he said looking down at mistiria.

Mistiria's eyes narrowed as she fought back and dug her claws into his snout and bit his cheek repeatedly. Mistiria wasn't going to make it easier for him to take them back to a family who didn't want Raven let alone her. She scratch at him and dug her claws once again. What more could she do to keep her friend safe from any harm. Mistiria fought bravely when both cubs were dropped.

"I'm not going to make it that easy for you to take us anywhere. I did not survive on my own just to be pushed around by someone who thinks he is better than me. No one is better than anyone else in the world," said Mistiria watching this brutal male lion.

Meko smacked both cubs in the face knocking them down. "If you don't work properly with me, then I will kill raven!" He threatened as he once more grabbed the two by the tail. He waited to see what mistiria would choose, raven to die or both be captured?

Mistiria valued life and wouldn't risk one life to save her own in any case. She looked at Raven with an apologetic look in her eyes not willing to risk her friends life although maybe they could have a chance to escape from this turmoil. She was still not pleased to be treated in this manner by someone she didn't know it was only going to be about three months until her brother and father would come back. When her father came back she only hoped that she could run away with Raven coming with her.

"Fine have it your way," said Mistiria looking at this lion with anger in her eyes and a plan in her mind.

Meko rolled his eyes and began his trip back to his pride with the cubs in his mouth. As he walked through the grass he felt hot and hungry. He waited for the wind to blow. It finally did he let his mane blow in the wind until he caught a strange scent. "Crap!" He said stomping his paw to the ground. Raven felt upset with her self she was the one that started all of this. If she hadn't accepted mistiria's friendship, she wouldn't have to be in this mess. It was unfair for her, it wasn't her family so she didn't need to be apart of it raven thought as she kept her eyes glancing at the ground trying not to make eye contact with mistiria. She felt bad and wished that mistiria's brother and father were here to save them. Raven sighed at the thought.

Mistiria heard a growl behind them and smiled at the familiar sound of it as she tried to keep herself from crying out to her father. She looked over at Raven and tried to comfort her and reassure her that her father was back early to take them to safety. As her father was growling behind Raven's brother she found the strength to fight back again. So she once again dug her claws into Raven's brother's snout again and bit his snout this time swiping at his snout with all her anger that she felt. The look in her eyes told Raven that once he puts them down again to run as fast as she could away from them.

Meko looked down at the cubs and growled while spitting them out as he was already planning to do before mistiria had scratched him. Ravens eyes were full of excitement as she realized they would be safe. When raven landed on her paws, she dashed off quickly away from her brother as she was suppose to. Meko looked at the two and in his mind he said forget it as he looked at them with a scary look. Then out of no where a male jumped at meko and fought him. "Brother!? meko yelled while clawing meloz. I tolled you not to come!!" He snarled. Meloz looked at raven and winked at her before he yelled. "RUN GUYS Y'ALL CAN DO IT!!!"

Mistiria ran as soon as she hit the ground turning only once to give the other lion a nod of thanks before running after Raven. She ran in the direction of the sound of Mistiria's father and she saw that Raven was heading the same way. Mistiria caught up to Raven her eyes told her that her father was just up on the hill they fell from. The two cubs had to continue to run until they were safely out of the boarders of Raven's family land. She was staying behind Raven so no one can pull a sneak attack on the after what she had done.

"I see my dad up ahead of you run for him he will take us to safety again. He will fight these lions if they try to hurt us again," said Mistiria as she ran behind Raven to encourage her to keep going.

Raven ran as fast as she could, heading towards the hill. She knew where they were headed and who would be up there. She looked back and smiled at the male who had distracted meko. For some reason that lion looked familiar. Raven got slower as she struggled to keep her little legs from sliding down the hill. She pounced trying to grab the top edge of the hill but slid down along with mistiria. once again they were down the hill. Meko pinned down meloz and ran to grab both of the cubs who had fell back down the hill. "I've got ya!!" Meko said to himself as he pounced at the cubs.

Mistiria's father saw the male coming and stood protectively over both cubs after he told them to try again on going up the hill. Mistiria realized this and looked at Raven then at the hill and with a deep breath she pulled herself up onto her feet. She had to ignore the pain in her right back paw and try to climb the hill again without being asked a second time by her father. She waited for Raven to follow her lead as to try again while Rogue bought them time to get away from the lion trying to hurt them.

"Raven we have to climb but I'm going to need your help going up again. My back paw is hurt again and I can't put all my weight on it until I can rest it," said Mistiria with a look of pain and smiled when she saw the damage she head done to the lion her father was holding back.

Rogue looked at this lion trying to hurt his cub and her friendin the eyes only to give him a stern warning to keep away from the cubs. He never let his guard down and proved to Raven what a real family would do for their cubs rather than what this lion was showing her. He was not backing down from the lion in front of him and before he spoke to the lion he watched on where his eyes were. Rogue saw that he was not paying attention to a lion in front of him and at that Rogue took his paw and stomped on the ground to get his attention back on him. He looked into the eyes of this lion and saw the scratches and bite marks on his snout with a smile before he spoke.

"You will not soon forget my daughter's fight will you. Touch those cubs again and I will be there to teach you a thing or two. My daughter and your sibling are friends so if this is how you are going to treat her then I will take Raven with me when I take my daughter home. You and your family won't have to worry about her," said Rogue looking at the other lion ready for anything to be done to him.

Raven looked at mistiria and took a deep breathe. She then smiled and grabbed mistiria and put her on her back and ran straight up the mountain with full speed. Once again she jumped to the edge and made it. She let mistiria get off her back and went to watch the males from the high veiw.
"Oh really?" Meko said with a smile. Try me!" He said afterwards.

Rogue's eyes never left the lion in front of him watching on what his move was going to be. His eyes were narrow as he watched his aponent try to tempt him into a fight. He was stronger than this lion and in his own land he was king. He has been in many fights before and he has won almost half of them. He looked up on the ledge and saw that the cubs were out of the way.

"You call yourself a prince but you are nothing more than a prince of fear. How long have you tormented your own sister with the threat of death. Your sister is safer with me and my family than she is with you and your family," said Rogue looking at the lion again with anger in his eyes.

Mistiria looked down at the scene as well and after a while her paw was feeling better. She went over to Raven and smiled when she looked down at her father and the lion who was trying to hurt them. She felt guilty getting her father involved but then again he was bigger and stronger than she was. All she did was scratch the snout and bite him hoping that she had left bite marks on him to. She was proud of Raven though and the way she get her out of harms way just in time before her father issued his threat.

"Thank you Raven you really saved my hide to come up here. We will be safe until my dad comes back to us. I just hope he's not mad at me for standing up for you. I am proud of you for what you did for me," said Mistiria as she hugged Raven and let her father know that she was alright.

Meko stood up tall and looked at the male in front of him. He lifted his arm up and got ready to smack him. But before he got the chance to hit him, meloz pounced at meko. Pinning him down and growling. Meko jumped and bit meloz in the neck. Meloz new this wasn't his battle even though how much he wanted to help rouge. He ran up the hill to protect the two cubs. Meko then grabbed rouge's neck with both paws scraping through his skin. Jumping back he growled and got ready jump at rouge again.

Raven smiled and looked at mistiria. "No problem!" She then noticed what was going on and got nervous hoping rouge would win this battle. "He's got this!" Meloz said looking down at the two cubs.

Rogue readied himself for a fight and got into a defensive pose then launched himself into the air and down on top of the other lion. His claws dug into him like a rock into a paw pad that was hard to get out again. He slashed at the other lions face and a claw slashed his nose where Mistiria had been fighting back even though she was just a cub. When he was done he push away from the lion and stood they not willing to turn his back on this one. He figured that if he could hurt the cubs he wouldn't think twice about attacking him when his back is turned.

"Let me take them home to my family and get them out of your fur before you get hurt lion. Your family abandoned Raven here and I will take her in and teach her how to be a real lioness not someone who is just ordered around just for kicks," said Rogue again with more conviction in the way he was talking.

On the ledge Mistiria stood in front of Raven as the other lion approached then. She recognized him as the lion who helped them get away from the other lion who hurt them. She was unsure if she should trust him even though he did help them ones before. She had to take a few deep breaths before she could say anything to this lion in front of them. When she was calm enough to talk she looked up at him again.

"Thank you for your help earlier sir. But can I ask you why you are helping us against your own family? And when you said he's got this who did you mean my dad or the other lion? I just met my dad three weeks ago and I don't want to lose him now," said Mistiria wondering if those were bad questions or not.

"Fine have it your way!" Meko snarled as he walked off. Meloz looked at mistiria and smiled. "Well I have no respect for my family, if they hate my little ray then I hate them as well. He said while nudging raven. "And I was talking about your dad, it kills me to see meko walk off in pain like that. But he hates raven as well so..he's not much a brother to me.." He then smiled and hugged his little ray. "I love you ray.." Meloz said giving raven a hug. Raven smiled at her big brother and wondered is he good or bad...?

At that moment a thought came to her mind as she looked down at see her father still standing and the other was walking away. She saw that Rogue was still down where the cubs had fallen. She then looked up at this other lion and came to a conclusion of her thoughts. Mistiria then stood next to Raven and the other lion with a smile on her face when she saw Raven's brother hug his sister. It made her conclusion that much more solid.

"Sir if I talk to my dad maybe he'll let you join us as well? But only if you want to the choice is yours," said Mistiria watching her father wait to come up until the other lion was out of sight. 

After some time  Mistiria saw her father come back up the mountain side not as injured as the other but injured nonetheless. She was sad when she saw what the other lion did to her father but she smiled on the inside at what her father had done. She looked down once her father made it back to the top where the cubs and the other lion was. Mistiria then looked up when she was given a hug from her father. She then looked at the other lion and her father didn't have to be asked the question she had on her mind. 

"For your help in that fight I am offering you a home were you don't have to be ordered to do what you don't want to do. I also offer you a chance to stay with your sister," said Rogue after he let his daughter go.

Meloz smiled as he was asked that question. "Of course I would love to! He said smiling. Raven looked up at rouge and smiled, he felt like a true father to her and she loved him. "Can we leave now instead of waiting a couple more months...? Raven asked looking up at rouge. Meloz walked up to mistiria and said. "I like you.. He said smiling. You make ray happy, so you make me happy....He said looking at his sister.

The sun was setting and the wind turned cold and the stars began to shine. The wind grew stronger then usual and the clouds began to darken. Then came the rain, it was pouring and lightning came with the sound of thunder.

Rogue looked at both cubs and then to the other lion with a tender smile and said, " let's go home then." Rogue picked up first Mistiria and put her on his back then he went to pick up Raven to put her on his back. Then carefully they made the long trek home to where they could grow up safe and sound. To learn the right wait to hurt and watch out for each other in the comfort of loving adults. Those who would protect cubs rather than endanger them to get what they want.

"Dad thank you for coming to our aid. And In a way I'm glad I ran away from hee now. If I had stuck out what mom was doing to me I wouldn't be here to help your sister. I'm Mistiria it's nice to meet a nicer member of your family as you sir. I couldn't stand to see Raven so upset that's why I was fighting so hard to get away from him. Who was that lion?" asked Mistiria who was curling up next to Raven as a way to keep warm. 

Rogue looked at the cubs on his back and the lion beside him with a smile. He saw that the cubs had curled up and was ready to fall asleep on his back. He looked at the other lion with a smile at how close the two cubs were. In his mind Rogue was asking himself a lot of questions about how Mistiria came to be such a small fighter. She was just a cub and wasn't ever really in a real fight was she. 

"We will talk once you two have rested for the night in safety for both of you. So go to sleep now and in the morning once you two are awake we will go through introductions," said Rogue as they made their way home again.

Meloz looked at rouge and and the two cubs and smiled. "Hey don't you think the cubs might be hungry..? Meloz whispered to rouge. I mean who knows since they last ate? Maybe I could go and get some food for them?" Meloz looked at the girls and then at rouge. Raven cuddled with mistiria and the two males continued to walk.

"I think we should let the girls eat but I don't think Mistiria can stay awake long enough to eat. We should get to the outskirts before we go after anything I'd like for the girls to feel safe first then go hunting. Unless you think you can carry the food while I carry the girls to the outskirts," said Rogue careful not to wake up Mistiria.

Rogue smiled and watched the other lion with surprise in his eyes. At how caring this lion was to his sister and Mistiria. He then thought that when Mistiria did wake up she might be hungry after that fight she put up. When he felt Mistiria lift up her head at the mention of food and looked at him. He looked at the lion offering to get the food for the cubs.

"I really didn't want to ask but can we eat something when we get back to the outskirts please dad. I've been living off of leftovers since I ran away and I don't know when Raven last ate," said Mistiria who woke up just to ask and fell back to sleep right after.

"The fight really must have taken its toll on her. To be honest I dont think I've ever seen a cub fight as hard as she did today just to protect someone else," said Rogue thinking about what she had just said.

"I can hunt the food and carry it. meloz said smiling at rouge. It will only take a second!" Meloz said running off to hunt. Raven then woke up and yawned. "Hey were did meloz go?" Raven said cocking her head at rouge. She was hoping he didn't betray them and also hoped for some food. Her ribs were visible through her fur and she couldn't wait to eat.

Meloz crouched down and licked his lips. He could see a full grown female antelope walking to a puddle of water. He approached  it slowly and quietly. He then pounced at her sticking his claws into its delicate skin. She tried to break lose from meloz, but meloz wouldn't have it. He really wanted the girls to eat. Once she was dead, he picked her up by its neck. Then began to drag it through the grass and back to the others.

Rogue turned his head to look back at Raven with a smile and said, "He went to get some food for you and Mistiria when you wake up for you nap. You two have been through a lot already now you will have the two of us looking after you as you sleep."

Mistiria once again lifted her head then let it fall into it normal sleeping position and fell back to sleep. She couldn't wake up at the moment she was just too tired and she fell asleep again. The look on her face was far more peaceful than it had when she was fighting for both their lives. By the time the other lion arrived back here Rogue was sure Mistiria would be fully awake again and wanting to eat. He looked at Raven and took a deep breath before he spoke again.

"Raven how long has it been since you ate anything? Do you remember when?" asked Rogue as he tried not to laugh at Mistiria's attempt to wake herself up.

Raven tried to remember when she last ate. It had been a while, about five days. She was still alive because she had eaten small things such as mice. "About five days." Raven said unsure. She then noticed meloz returning with a full grown antelope. Meloz dropped the food down in front of rouge and the girls. "Here you go. He said smiling. Raven began to eat. "Don't you want some meloz?" Meloz looked at raven and smiled. "I'm gonna wait until your finished. Its more important for y'all to eat first even if I get the left overs, I will starve for you ray." He said hugging his sister.

Mistiria stirred and stretched not yet fully recovered but awake enough to get a full belly again. She looked at the grown creature in front of Rogue and smiled. She had not eaten a full meal in a long time if ever. She looked at the other lion and smiled her thanks to him. She looked at her father of whom she didn't want to leave him just yet.

"I know that you want to wait but the animal is big enough fro all of us to feed on. You don't have to wait for us to eat both you and dad can join us," said Mistiria with a tired smile on her face.
