Two best friends.....

The night finally passed and the sun began to rise over the two friends. It was a new day of being friends and mistiria was probably just excited as raven. Raven was the first to wake up. She slowly opened her eyes and yawned. Then she glanced beside her and saw mistiria and smiled. Raven pulled herself up and sat there thinking of all of the fun things the two could do. Play tag, hide and seek or maybe even pretend to hunt. She waited a while waiting for mistiria to wake up. Finally raven lost her patience and woke her up herself.


She placed her paw on mistiria and nudged. "Wake up!" Raven repeated excitedly moving her tail back and forth quickly. "Come on today is a new day!" Raven grabbed her ear and nibbled it while pulling it friendly-like. "Wake up!"

Mistiria looked at Raven and smiled at the playful tug on her ear. She could tell that Raven was happy and watched her tail move back and forth. She was happy as well to have survived another night on her own which was easy this time with someone else being with her. By the time she got to her feet and stretched while yawning she went to the watering hole and got a drink of water before anything else. Her eyes then opened more and she was fully awake now.

"So what do you want to do first Raven?" asked Mistiria as she looked back at her friend.

Raven was already making plans. "hmm we could do hide and seek... no wait tag!! Definitely Tag! " Raven was really excited to see mistiria awake and was even more excited when she asked what she wanted to do first. "Tag your it!" Raven yelled while placing her paw on mistiria's shoulder then removed her paw dashing off into the grassy field jumping over a puddle and splashing mistiria. Running quickly through the the grass raven did a quick turn and jumped over mistiria tricking her. "Ha!" Raven laughed. She suddenly began to run out of breathe so decided to slow down a bit. But not so slow, that mistiria ends up tagging her back. Raven looked back and mistiria running after her. This made raven smile and feel great in side and actually gave her a boost of speed by the time they made it to a tree.

Mistiria was smiling as she chased Raven along the tall grass and then to a tree which the shade was nice. She could have stayed there for a while longer if she could. But she wanted to keep playing with her friend and watch her back if trouble were to come along. She was looking for a way to tag Raven as she ran after her with a smile on her face and laughing while chasing her. Mistiria jumped on a fallen log and thought that she could tag Raven on the log.

Raven watched mistiria jump on the log. Raven knew she could now easily get tagged, but honestly she didn't care she was just happy to be with mistiria. "Hey you all most got me!" The wind felt good and it felt even better do be spending a windy day like this with her best friend. Ravens throat became dry and really needed a drink, but she would wait until she was tagged or when mistiria was ready to take a break.

Mistiria noticed Ravens scratchy throat and smiled, "why don't we take a break so we can get some water," said Mistiria when she realized that her own throat was dry. She looked up at the sunny yet windy days and thought, 'this is the best day of my life since I ran away.'

It was then that she caught a familiar scent in the air and wanted to go find out what it was. She thought it could be her brother coming to see her again again only she didn't want to leave her friend alone. She looked at Raven with a smile and remembered that she wanted to meet her brother as well. She waited with a hope that she would get an answer to the long awaited question from her mother by her brother. Strangely enough Mistiria was willing to introduce her new friend to her brother.

"I think my brother is near by to see us. Do you still want to meet him? He'll want to meet any friend that I make I'm sure. He understands why I won't go back home with him. He offered to try and get some information for me about why my mom didn't want me," said Mistiria looking at Raven with excited eyes. "But first we should get that water to quench our thirst."

Raven looked at mistiria in a how did you know type of way. "That sounds great! I would love to get a nice cold drink!" Raven saw how happy mistria looked when they were just stopping. Then when she said she thinks her brother is nearby, she remembered when she said "I would love to meet your brother!" That is when mistria asked if she still wanted to see him. She noticed how the excitement in mistria's eyes. "Of course, i would love to meet your brother! I bet he is as nice as you!"

Raven had a big smile on her face as they continued to get that drink there were talking about earlier. "Hey whats he like!?" Raven asked curiously. "How old is he!? What does he like to eat? whats his favorite type of day? Does he have a crush? Whats his favorite color or his favorite game!? Is he weak or strong? Is he grumpy or always happy?" Raven kept asking her questions and accepted an answer to all of them. "So what?"

Mistiria smiled at the excitement in Raven as her questions came out in torrents. She had some answers but not all of them and with a smile she drank from the watering hole. The look in her eyes at an unfamiliar scent with the one of her brother made her fur stand on end. She had to wonder if this scent was of the father she never got to meet. She looked at Raven and smiled again before she spoke.

"You are getting to know me right his temperament is like mine. But he is very protective over me. He is my age we were born in the same litter. I don't know what he likes to eat. Lol any day that it doesn't rain torents. I don't know that one too. His favorite game is play fighting and his favorite color is white. He is very strong for a cub. He is happy until I get hurt then he gets protective of me," answered Mistiria as she looked around when she thought she saw something black pock out of the grass.

Mistiria looked at Raven and put a paw on hers and whispered, "I'll be right back don't leave here. We're friends now so trust that I will come back with my brother and possibly my father too."

Stalking away from Raven was the hardest thing she could do but for her safety was the reason Mistiria told her to stay where she was until she waved to her to come out of hiding. She crept up to where she saw the black bundle of fur and got ready to pounce on her brother which took him off his guard. She laughed as she got off of him with a smile on her face now that her brother was there. But before she asked all of her questions she looked back over to where Raven was. The look in her eyes told the older lion everything she needed to know and she waved for Raven to join them as well.

Raven was excited to hear the answers to most of her questions. She thought of him as a friend too because he protects her. When mistiria asked for her trust, raven knew to trust her. When she watched mistiria walk off it made her feel a little upset like... she was walking away and never coming back. Raven did want to meet her brother, but not so much her father. When she heard mistiria's voice call her over to join the two, she felt happy again. So she decided to run quickly over there and pounce at her brother.

"I'm so happy to meet you! I've heard so much about you! But you can't really think of somebody from words, its best if you meet them yourself! Raven said smiling big at mistiria's brother. "That is why I wanna have all the fun with you!" Looking back at what she said made her kind of blush.

Willow was rather surprised when the other lioness pounced over to the with excitement in her eyes. He was smiling at her and wanted to tell them both to just calm down before they started to talk about what he found out from both their mother and let their father tell them what he plans to do about this whole thing. Mistiria was the first to calm down and waited on Raven to calm down as well.

(Sorry for short reply but I have to go eat)

Raven was still so excited she kept jumping and smiling. She then noticed how the two other lions were trying to calm down. She awkwardly laughed and sat down calming herself. She already knew she would be great friends with mistiria's brother just by the way he smiled. Raven looked at mistiria then at mistiria's brother. "Hey whats your name?" Raven asked.

Willow looked at Raven his smile didn't go away and calmed himself to the point where he could answer. His head perked up as he thought about what he had learned for Mistiria. Their father just looked on in amusement and smiled as well at the three cubs in front of him. Laughing at what he saw his own daughter do to her brother was the same thing his mother would do to his father. Not to mention his daughter looked just like his own mother was something that he would never imagine it to be and he felt honored to be in her presence.

"My name is Willow it's nice to meet someone who is a friend of my sister Mistiria. What's your name?" asked Willow as he tried to calm down some.

"And I'm Rogue if you would like my name to. You are welcome to stay near my daughter as long as you want to or until your family comes for you if that is the case," said Rogue looking at Mistiria and back at the other lioness cub.

Mistiria looked at her father someone she had never met until this day and she saw the way he watched her. She had to know more about this lion before she lets the chance pass her by. She had to know why her mother did what she had done to chase her away. She had so many questions for the both of them that she couldn't stand it anymore and took a deep breath. She decided that this was going to be all or nothing with the questioning.

"Why did mom do what she did to me? What was her reason for getting rid of me? She was supposed to be there for me too yet here I am on my own and for what? D-dad that look you just gave me what do you see in me that mom didn't want you to see?" asked Mistiria as she fought back her emotions.

"Mistiria you look like my mother and she must have thought that was a bad thing. It's okay to call me dad or father because that is what I am to you both. I don't know all of what she did to you. I only know what Willow had told me about you and what she was doing. But I see you now and I promise both you and your friend here. When I come back and should you both still be together as friends after I deal with your mother's betrayal of you I will take you both home with me. You and your friend will no longer be on your own no cub should ever feel the pain you two are feeling right now," said Rogue answering the questions he could with the information he had from his son.

"Mistiria I couldn't find out much only that you looked like someone mom didn't want to be reminded of. She told me after so long that she wouldn't have allowed you to meet dad because you would end up being his favorite instead of me. She told me that you have no right to be a queen and that from then on you were dead to her. I'm sorry Mistiria but you know that no matter what I am going to continue to come here and check on both of you until she labels me not worthy of the role as king. I'm sure between dad and I we can make her change her mind about you and accept you back into the pride," answered Willow with all he found out about why their own mother would turn any cub away let alone say that she was dead when he knew she wasn't.

Mistiria took the information to heart and sat there with her head down and clawing at the ground with her front claws. She was trying not to cry in front of them and knew that it had to do with the fact that she looked like someone she wanted no memory of. She was about to lose it when she looked up again to find Willow nudge Raven over to her. She then watched him snuggle her other side and that move was the only thing that brought back a half smile to her. She wasn't let go of until Willow knew she was really okay again

"My name is raven!" She said with a smile. "And its nice to meet you rogue." Then raven began to listen to the touching story. She could tell how mistiria was trying to keep herself from crying. It almost made raven cry as well. Then out of nowhere it was the end of the story and willow had nudged raven a tab closer to mistiria this made raven smile. "Wait does this mean i'll have a new family!?" Raven said this in a mixture of happiness and sorrow. She knew if she was to have a new family she would have to leave her old one. "But what about my old family.." She stared at rouge and her eyes were to cute to overlook and you could see the sadness within them. She wanted to always be with her new friend but, she also missed her family even though they gave her a hard time and disliked her. But she didn't notice.

Rogue looked at her and gave Raven an understand smile at that. He chose his words carefully this time. He gave Raven a pat on the top of her head. He knew that this was going to be very hard on her should her family never come back for her. He took a deep breath and kept himself calm for his daughter's sake.

"But should they not come back well this whole think may not go as planned either and we may have to flea from our pride. We will stay together until your family comes back for you then Raven. We won't let you stay out here alone so stay here until the next time you meet up with us. We may have more members of our pride to join us as well. We will stay where your family took off on you until they find you then," said Rogue in hopes to soften the realization of what happened to her.

Mistiria looked dazed and ready to run again but she refrained from doing that. That news itself was hard to take but she was sure that what Raven's family did was some cruel trick to make her think that she wasn't wanted. By the time Mistiria got her thoughts together she was realizing just how upset she was at her mother not her brother and not her father for telling her. None of the things that she learned would have been possible if she hadn't been on her own. It was time she past her hard learned lessons to someone else now so they don't make the same mistakes as she had.

Raven looked at rouge and listened carefully to every word. She loved how father like he talked and acted. Then she paused, "will they ever come back?" Raven asked hoping for a yes. She noticed how nice everyone was being and felt like this is where she belonged yet, she needed more answers to her past. If they abandoned her why? Was it because she was colorless or because she had two different colored eyes? Or both? She looked up at rouge and tryed to smile but the thought of them abandoning her was just to awful. She wasn't as tough as mistiria and began crying. She hugged rouge and cried into his mane. The sorrow feeling was to much for her.

The thought of seeing her friend so upset that she was surprised by her own voice when she spoke up, "Just in case they don't you can be apart of our family and life with us. Until then I can teach you what I learned the hard way so you don't have to. I'm staying with you no matter what anyone says. I can be your protector until Willow and dad come back with whatever news they can."

Mistiria looked at Rogue who only nodded at what Mistiria was saying and understand the stern tone she was putting off. She only spoke like that to keep herself in line and once she was calm enough she looked at Raven putting her trust in the family she just met. Mistiria smiled again as she hugged Raven at the same time as Rogue and Willow hugged her. She whispered into Raven's ear and told her that she was sorry for coming off so strongly. That it was the only way she can keep her emotions from getting out of her control.

"I'm sorry but we really can't say for sure if they will or not. But it's good to have a back up plan just to be on the safer side of things. I don't want to see my best and only friend live life alone in a cold dark place," said Mistiria looking up at Rogue as well.

"Mistiria knows the pain that you live with now. Learn from her what you need to know and I'm sure your family will come to their senses. Willow and I must go for now but we will return in three months time to give you an update on what is happening with the pride," said Rogue as he sat up to with Willow on his back once again leaving the two lioness cubs alone.

The hug that came from her new family made her feel more at home. She loved the hug and how they felt and cared about her especially mistiria. They made her cry even more but tears of joy. She sniffed and asked "Is this how some family's treat each other?" Saying it in a way that her family never showed her the tiniest of love. She didn't know how to thank them and when they said goodbye it made raven feel sad. She didn't want to be out here alone even though she has mistiria. It still frightened her to have to stay outside alone where other lions could kill them. She just hoped they would make it back safely and with news to tell.

Mistitia looked at Raven and smiled again still feeling guilty of how she said what she did in the manner that she had. It was enough though to snap her out of her anger so she could be more helpful to Raven and teach her what she had learned from her time out in the open. So she gave Raven a hug again and this time smiled with fun in her eyes when she looked at her father and brother leaving. Although she felt upset to see them go she knew in her heart that they would be back again to bring them home again. With hope in her heart she could live on in the way she had been since she first ran away from her mother.

"We will be alright until they come back Raven you'll see and by the time they come back we will be stronger and ready to help them if they need us to. I can say this though that nothing will happen as long as I'm alive and willing to fight for you. Yes families are supposed to be there for you no matter how much they want you to disappear Raven. I don't really know my dad too well only from what I saw today and from what Willow had told me about him. But if he is willing to take you under his guidance then I think since your family wanted to leave you out here then you should come and live with mine. As you just saw dad is a kind hearted soul and is willing to take in a cub that isn't his," said Mistiria looking at Raven and smilimg again. "And sorry for the way I spoke it wasn't real meant to upset you it was more to tell myself to let it go and live on like it doesn't bother me."

She could tell that mistiria had felt bad about her tone, but she had forgiven her. Raven felt confident once mistiria began to talk. And she loved the fact that she said that she would fight for her, it made her feel good in side and she knew she would look after her as well. Raven hugged mistiria once more and said in a soft voice. "Thank you..." Closing her eyes she tightly hugging mistiria then removed her arms. Living with a new family at this moment didn't sound bad, considering all her life she thought they were just suppose to feed you and that's it. She could see the excitement in mistiria's eyes, how she was excited to wake up every morning next to her best friend. The sun was setting and it was time to get some shut eye. Raven looked at mistiria and smiled. "Ok lets hit the hay!" She said in a tired sounding voice.


Raven lye down and watched the sunset and the stars shine. She started thinking about her family and what she could remember. Like her older brother meko, and how he was so different from the family. She mainly missed him and would love to see his sweet soothing smile once more. Then there was Meloz, she didn't quite miss him but she would like his company. Her mother and father weren't the best but they took care of her for a while so she still cared about them.

Mistiria laid down beside Raven and watched over her like she had the previous night to chase away any nightmares that may surface during the night tonight. She smiled when she got the hug and for some reason she wanted to meet at least one family member of Raven's family and confront them about why they just left her. But she figured that would never happen do to what they did to her to make her as upset as she was now. She had to wonder what she would do if they did come back and find her a strange lion cub in their land. By the time she had come out of her thoughts she looked over at Raven and saw that she must have been thinking of her family and Mistiria snuggled closer to her.

"I'll stay up as long as I can while you sleep now okay," said Mistiria with a comforting voice.

Raven felt warm and comfortable. Mistiria must of noticed what she was thinking about and acted at a perfect time. "Thanks again.." Raven said with a voice getting quieter as the second falling into a deep sleep. She didn't have a nightmare but had a strange dream about her family. Her brother meko was yelling at rogane and akena. He let out a snarl and said. "Now I'm gonna go find her!" She saw him walking closer to him than walking away and slowly disappearing."Meko she yelled repeatedly. "Meko..Meko no!! Don't leave me!!" It was to late he was gone and she was heart broken. Meko she said once more but quieter. She tossed and turned even tho she was asleep she could feel her tear dripping down her face.

Mistiria laid their beside her and for a moment thought about what she could do for her friend even though now she was feeling more sisterly to Raven. She had to wonder if this Meko was in fact coming for his sister and leaving her alone again. It was just a thought but even then the air around then grew oddly cooler and the movement was helping Mistiria stay awake just to keep Raven safe. She was showing someone something that she thought she had forgotten long ago. By the time her thoughts settled she was awake and ready to stand up for her friend.

Mistiria started then to hum a soothing lullaby to the sleeping Raven to try and calm her down some. She knew that the hardest time was being on your own and just continued to sing the lullaby hoping that it would do the trick. She at this point didn't care if anyone was able to hear her or not she was doing this for a friend who needed calming. Her could hear the grass and leaves join in the song she sang from time to time and smiled at the stars. Her look was calm and soothing when she looked over at Raven.

Raven kept turning but all of a sudden she stopped. The most beautiful of music came into her dream. Her ears twitched and she smiled and the dream went away and she continued to sleep peacefully. She cuddled mistiria tightly and wrapped her tail around hers. Everything was nice again, She felt the cold wind going through her fur which made her snuggle with mistiria even more. Then she woke up and peeked with one eye to look at mistiria without her noticing. She could see she was still awake and saw that she was the one who had stopped her nightmare. "You know....you should probably get some shuteye." Raven whispered to mistiria.

Mistiria nodded and cuddled close to Raven with a smile on her face now that her friend was calm she was also calm. As soon as she laid her head down that Mistiria fell asleep close to her friend to keep warm. Unlike the days she used to spend alone cold and dark with no relief in sight. She fell asleep and tried not to be too deep of a sleep but tonight she failed at that. The sleep took her without giving her a chance to fight the sleep back.

The night ended and the sun began to rise over the two. They were both cuddled up together having a good sleep. Raven woke up and got a good stretch. She then went to a small puddle of water and got a morning drink to clear her throat. The water was full of dirt and tasted awful. She also splashed some of the water onto her face waking her up a bit. She had big plans. She stuck her claws out and ran to the tree that provided them shade as they slept. She began to climb it and hid on a branch and waited for mistiria to wake up. She was in for a scare!

Mistiria slowly opened her eyes as the sun rose in the sky. She went over to the same puddle and drank from it though it didn't taste well she had worse water than that. It was after she got her drink that she realized someone was missing. She looked around for Raven and followed her paw prints to the tree that shaded them during the day. She was panicked when she lost the prints she had been following.

"Raven where are you? asked Mistiria in a scrambled voice.

Raven tried not to laugh and quickly acted before she blew it. She pounced down at mistiria and roared though it was a cub like roar.Raven rolled through the dirt holding mistiria. They finally stopped and raven jumped up and shook her head and dusted herself off. "Got yah!!" raven yelled playfully as she got into the do you wanna play position.

Mistiria smiled and got into the same position as Raven and growled softly so only the two cubs could hear. She then looked at Raven who was already to play again after what was told to both of them yesterday it was still burning her up inside. It was apparent that Rogue loved his mother and didn't care if she looked like her, she would have been loved by at least one of her parents. But she couldn't keep thinking about that she had to move forward rather than in the past. She couldn't let go of the fact that her brother told their father about her and he wanted to meet her on top of that.

"Sorry got a little side tracked," said Mistiria and got back into the play stance.

Mistiria then leaped forward and tried to pin Raven down as she had her already. She was in a playful mood again and tried to pin her several more times until she was able to get the upper hand on the situation. She was far enough away from her that she could use the tall grass as cover to hid her entire body. She crept as if hunting and when she was close enough she stood up in a full run at the same time. The smile that she gave when she went for the tackle was proud when she tackled Raven and both rolled down a hill.

Raven was in a very playful mood. She tried to dodge mistiria's pounces but got pinned down by most of them. "No problem!" Raven said after mistiria apologized for getting distracted. It was quite painful rolling down the hill. Raven fell on to her face and scraped her face on some rocks. It stung but she didn't really feel the pain at first. She looked at mistiria and smiled letting out a playful growl. Across her face was a long scratch. "Hey whats that scent?" Raven could scent another animal nearby. And couldn't quite draw it out.

Mistiria looked at Raven and saw the scratch on face but saw that she was ready to play more until she to caught wind of something nearby. She thought this animal was another lion but she couldn't be sure of it. When she looked up at the hill they just fell from she realized then that her right back paw hurt a little more than just anything she felt before. She looked up at the sky and thought for a second trying to ignore the pain she felt. She then looked around them from side to side as if looking for the cause of the unfamiliar scent.

"I don't know it could be anything but I need to rest for a minute to make sure my back right paw isn't broken. It hurts since we fell from the hill," said Mistiria looking at Raven with a smile that was supposed to be reassuring.
