Kerberos
Nick names:
Age: Young Adult
Species: Lion
Allegiance: Rogue
Description
Kerberos is a large, athletic but not bulky male lion with a full silver mane and tail. His toes, stomach, muzzle, inside of ears and around the eyes fur is a pale off white color with a creme undertone. His fur is the color of ebony but a bit longer and fuller than the regular lion, giving him a rather plush appearance. He is a bit underfed as most rogues but will give a good fight to anyone daring to challenge him. He has some old scars on his back which appear faint silver. His eyes are a piercing grey with blue and green undertones. He has a very smooth movement about him and very silent.
Personality
Kerberos is a very quiet and reserved individual. He never speaks unless necessary and his voice is rather raspy. He doesn't forgive and he doesn't trust anyone. He doesn't make promises but he also never breaks them. He will fight only for his own benefits and he hates anyone who tries to make him do something. Loyal only to himself, he can't forgive his father who abandoned him and his mother long before Kerberos was born. Because of this, he doesn't do romance and he hates those who abandon cubs at birth. He is protective of any cub he meets but is awkward and never knows how to deal with the youngsters thus can appear rough and cold towards even the cutest furball around.
Background
Kerberos doesn't share his story often. He was an illegitamite cub - unwanted by his whole pride, a secluded small pack in Greece, the last to survive as their ancestors were extirpated. His father had been a rogue from the south that had been taken in by the pride to heal of his wounds. Perceponee, the young daughter of the King of the pride, fell in love with the rogue and, going against her father's wishes, was planning to elope with him. However, he left without her, abandoning the disgraced female to be looked down on by her pride members and with a cub in her belly.
Kerberos was born with atypical coloring - unlike the lions of the North, their fur pale creme and with dark mane fur, he was born black as night with pale markings and immediately branded as a curse to the tribe. His grandfather Zews regarded him as a reminder to never invite outside felines into the tribe and his grandmother Hera passed away soon after his birth, strengthening the belief that the young male was cursed. In despair, Perceponee almost chocked him one night as he slept but couldn't bring herself to do such an evil.
The young cub grew apart from all other lions in his tribe including his mother and was left to his own devices. Because other cubs picked on him usually in small groups, Kerberos learned to fight well although was always punished if his claws, slightly larger than those of the other cubs, racked them and left marks. Left to himself, the cub found other playmates in lynx cubs and wildcat kittens, a part of a mixed feline band that spent a lot of time climbing trees and splashing in the pools. He was more at home among the lynxes than in his own pride although his grandfather looked down on him.
Eventually, when he was old enough, Kerberos ran away from home, leaving behind his tribe and whatever blood ties he had. He became a rogue, following the winds south since he could not stay close proximity to the pride. In recent years, Zews has gone mad regarding protection, killing anyone who even threatened to expose the location of the pride. An outcast with a bounty on his head, Greece no longer was home for Kerberos.
