It's early morning on the plains of Africa, the sun is barely up and a lone lion is sleeping in the shade of a small cliff. A light breeze ruffles its white mane, and the blue lines in his fur are shining slightly in the morning light. [ Uhh... I'm definitely rusty in this, so just a small prompt to start this. Anyone could join, but I'd like to rp with maybe one or two people, so it doesnt get too crowded. The Char I'm using, is Meusi - Here ]

I'll play as a common character of mine... but for suspense is it ok if I don't say which one just yet? A large snake watched the sleeping lion from the branches high in her tree. She was a giant snake, easily fifty feet long, and as thick as a rhino's leg. The morning light made green scales sparkle like beetle wings. Her tongue flicked out into the air: this male smelled nice. Very nice indeed.

[ Of course. This is going to be very interesting. ]
As the sun rise higher in the air, Meusi started to shift around in his sleep, his paw moving up to cover his eyes from the rays of the sun. He let out a quiet yawn and sighed, not wanting to get up.

The snake continued to edge closer along the branch. This lion was intriguing. What were those blue markings for? She edged ever closer, tasting the air, until she heard the wood split. "Oh, sssnap," she hissed, just before the branch did and she slammed onto the earth. Even giant snakes could have the wind knocked out of them (especially giant snakes), but she soon recovered and raised her massive head.

On an instant Meusi's eyes were open, startled from the thunk. His blue eyes were wide open and he looked around, until he saw a huge snake. "What the-" he glared at it, slowly getting up. He didn't like snakes. Not even one bit.

"Oh, don't mind me, tassty lion," the snake said. "I was jusst enjoying your sssmell." She flicked her tongue, and winked. "It'ss been a while ssince I've seen your kind in these partss. What bringss you this way?" It cocked its head, much like a curious dog might, but the snakey smile made it look playful. Playful, and a little dangerous.

Meusi stood up and took a step back, so he could retreat, if the snake would think of doing something silly. He watched it closely and spoke. "I'm trying to find my way home. That is..." The lion glanced at the ground for a moment before returning its gaze at the snake "I'm trying to find a place to call home."

"Why not call thiss placcce home?" The snake said, wriggling forwards slightly to maintain the distance between herself and the lion. "It'ss rocky, but there iss much to eat, if you know where to look. There'ss a river and plains and foresssts, and the cliffs on either sside mean you're not likely to be ssurprised by wandering bandss of hyenas. Perhapss I can sshow you the ssights sometime." She inched forwards, her gold-green eyes flashing, flicking her long forked tongue through the narrow slit at the front of her mouth. But then all of a sudden she pulled back. "Oh, fforgive me! Where are my manners? My name is Shetani." She inclined her head for the first time breaking eye contact. "May I have the honour of yours?"

Meusi nodded slowly at the snakes words. It had a point - he could just stay here, and it wouldn't hurt, if he trusted the snake, would it?
"The name's Meusi." He said, his voice slightly raspy. He quickly looked around, and when he couldn't spot even a puddle, he spoke. "Would you mind showing me where the river is?"

“That’ss eassy,” Shetani said. “You jusst slither downhill. Right thiss way.” She turned, slithering slowly through the scraggly scrub, dry leaves rustling under her foot wide body.

Meusi followed the snake, listening to the sound the leaves were making under his paws, and inspecting his surroundings.

((OOC: If you don't mind, I'd like to jump in with Sekhmet. :3))She lapped up water lazily, seemingly in no rush at all. Her eye were closed, and only the slight twitching of her large ears gave away that she was paying at least some attention to her surroundings. The river's flow was slow, so slow in fact that had she felt like she might have gone for a bit of a swim. But Sekhmet wasn't feeling like it. A moment ago she thought she had hear a loud thud, and though she knew it had come from further away, she was still wary. If she swam now she wouldn't be able to get out quickly, not when on dry land she could simply pounce up to the sky. Her ears twitched again and she stopped drinking. Slowly she straightened herself, tilting her head ever so slightly with her eyes still closed. For a moment she listened for the sound that she thought she had heard just now, and indeed after a moment she could hear it. But what she heard made her frown. Steps she could understand. Someone was obviosly heading towards her and the river. What she didn't get, however, was why she could hear slithering. The white serval was a curious creature, something that she often thought was both her curse and her blessing. But she wasn't foolish, at least not after the day that had changed her forever. She couldn't hide from sight due to her colouration, and as such sneaking closer to find out who was coming to the river was out of question. It would be stupid anyway, especially if there was a snake around. What she could do, however, was take to the sky. And so she did. Gracefully she pounced to the sky, spreading her leathery wings in mid leap and flapping them quickly to gain height so that she would be able to see who were heading towards the river.

"Here iss the river," Shetani said, flicking her tongue and looking back and forth across the bare, sandy banks. "It's broad and clear now, but in the dry ssseassson it ssstops flowing, creating nicccce water holess. It makes for easssy prey." She smiled a little, then began slithering up the tree. "If you'll forgive me, I feel a little vulnerable on the ground... oh look, a flying cat." She then opened her mouth and hissed in a strange rhythmic pattern, not unlike laughter, eyes following the thin, winged feline in the sky. "Now that HAS made my day."

( uh guys I'm so sorry, but I was grounded and I really can't keep up with this so maybe you both continue, and Meusi just stays at the river. I'm really sorry but I can't do anything about it. :/ )
