To Be Or Not To Be (REMAKE Clary - Mane)

The young male, going by the name of Kito, was awoken by movement around the outside of the cave. He pads outside, yawning occasionally,  his large mane weighing him almost to the floor. "Must've just been some mice or something." He mumbles, padding down the slope of Priderock, heading to get a drink.  As he bent down to drink, the bottom of his mane was covered in water. He grumbles in annoyance, sitting down, his tail curled around his haunches.

As news did pass round the pride quickly, he had heard that Queen Simba had accepted an outsider into the pridelands. Most said she was a real beauty. Going by the name of Kovu? Who knows, could just be another stupid rumor.

He lied down, resting his head on his forepaws.

A golden male with a russet mane which was still growing in and was surprisingly small compared to his father's beige mane trotted over to a cave just on the outside of Pride Rock, Kiara who had once been interested in the female he was on his way to see, no longer had feelings for her and had told his parents who had understood, his father Nala had just dismissed it as young love albeit in a playful manner but he had been right, now Kiara was happy at just being friends with the lioness. He padded into the cave and saw Kovu lay on her back with her paws in the air as she slept. Kiara couldn't help but laugh which bounced off the cave walls and alerted the young female to his presence.


Kovu rolled over, her eyes wide in surprise as she noticed Kiara laughing at her. With a small smirk she stood upright and padded over to her friend, pushing at his face playfully as she passed. "I'm thirsy, Kiara. Can you show me the watering hole?" She asked, her muddy brown fur was sleek against her slender figure and her slightly lighter brown markings ran into her main pelt colour neatly. She was certainly a sight to see. She had been known as the beauty of the outlands to her father's small gathering. The only thing Kovu hated about her look was the scar that ran the length of her right eye from when she had enraged her father once. She shrugged it off and looked to Kiara who was already padding out of the cave, he glanced back at the lioness and Kovu took that as her cue to follow which she did.


The pair ran along laughing and playing together until they finally reached the watering hole where a large male was drinking. Kovu took a hesitant step back, whereas King Nala and Queen Simba had welcomed her into the pride, some of the other members - mainly the older ones who had endured Queen Scar's reign of terror had been incredibly cold towards her, making her want to run far away from Pride Rock, Kovu looked to Kiara who was smiling up at her sadly, "Don't worry, that's Kito. He won't hurt you." Kiara reassured her, giving her a friendly nudge. Kovu inhaled deeply before taking a few shaky steps towards the water, making sure to stay a distance from Kito whilst Kiara just sat to one side, his expression sympathetic at Kovu's fears.

Kito lifted his head up, looking around, yawning slightly. Damn, I Was Almost Asleep, Serves Me Right For Trying To Sleep Near The Waterhole He thinks, hardly bothering to get up. Once he`d got used to his surroundings, he stood up. He yawns once more, still looking rather groggily. The sound of pebbles sliding down the slope on Priderock was a ring to his ears. Two forms, golden and dark were making their way down the hill.

His gaze caught sight of them playing, and he chuckled. He was only slightly older than the Prince, by a month or so. His mane was large, well, just because, well, his genes. Soon, he saw the two reach the bottom and make their way over to the waterhole. "Good Morning To You Both"
He says, flicking his tail. "So, are you Kovu? I`ve heard the rumor that someone new had joined the pride, but I diden`t think it was true." He chuckles.

"Anyways, Its Nice To Meet You, Kovu Right? Im Kito, As The Prince Just Said." He says, nodding thankfully to Kiara. He looked at Kovu for a minute, trying to remember her looks. Noticing she looked skittish, and was, well, looking scared. She must think Im evil or something. Ugh, this is what /always/ happens. He thinks, sighing slightly.

[Ruby_Fehu]

When Kito greeted her politely, Kovu relaxed ever so slightly. "Yes, I'm Kovu." She said slowly, her normally confident voice timid as she sunk closer to Kiara who had come to her side. She gave the male opposite her a once over and looked to Kiara who was wearing a small smirk. "Our lovely lioness here thinks you want to kill her. She thinks all of the Pride want to run her out or harm her." Kiara explained to Kito, noticing he became rather disappointed at Kovu's reaction.

"I don't think everyone wants to kill me, just a few of the members who keep giving me the death stare." Kovu snapped at Kiara who laughed again.

"Kito, will you be planning on killing Kovu anytime soon?" The prince asked, his playful grin growing wider. Kovu who was trying to appear disinterested at Kiara's teasing looked up at Kito with anticipation for his answer.

He sighs softly, but smiling slightly. "Its Nice To Meet You Then, Kovu." He says, nodding. He watched as she slunk back to Kiara, she must`ve thought someone wanted her head around here. "Why would I want to do that? Theres No Reason For It." He states blankly.

"Just ignore `em, or just, well yah know throw a stone in their eyes or something. Now that`ll stop em from starin." He chuckles slightly, thinking about it. "And if they`re doing that, they obviously don`t, or never have met you." He says with a shrug.

"I woulden`t dream of it." He nods, looking at Kovu. "Stop being such a tease, she`s bad as it is." He chuckles, nudging Kiara slightly.

[Ruby_Fehu]

"Because I'm an outsider." Kovu stated cocking her head to one side, it was positions like this that used to make her siblings say how she looked like the mother she had never know. Her green eyes were bright and curious, as she stepped closer to Kito, he didn't seem to be a threat right now. And Kiara was with her, he could protect the lioness.

Kiara grinned at Kito and rolled his eyes. "Okay, okay I'll stop. You killjoy." He retorted to Kito.

"Yeah, So? Perhaps Simba will realise that not all Outsiders are bad." He shrugs. He watched her step forward, with mixed curiosity and fear. He smiles slightly. "Trust me, I csn be a killjoy sometimes. He laughs.

[Ruby_Fehu]

"My mother and father have accepted Kovu into our Pride, they did want to betroth us to each other but when I told mother I wasn't interested she spoke to father and they called it off. It's just some of the other Pride landers aren't as accepting." Kiara explained to his friend whilst Kovu nodded her agreement.

"As long as you don't kill me then I guess we'll get along just fine." Kovu grinned, some of her personality seeping through at her words.

"Its good to see that. Its good to know they gave one of you another chance. " He states, with an added grin. "Yeah, when I first joined not everyone was too keen, and, with time they grew to trust me."

"And im pretty sure I won't kill you, unless I accidentally slip. -Only joking." He chuckles. Now Kiaras tormenting habit had worn off on him.

[Ruby_Fehu]

Kovu couldn't help the giggle that passed her lips, it was rather soft for a lioness and an outsider for that matter. "If you kill me, Kiara here will have to kill you then." Kovu grinned, looking up at the golden lion who shook his head with a smirk.

"I'm not getting in a fight for someone like you." He teased, shoving up against her and turning to Kito, "Father is taking me around the Pridelands. Will you do me a favour and show Kovu the area as well, just so she knows her way around a little better?" Kiara asked politely. "I'd appreciate it."

He chuckled at her comment, his laugh deep and gruff. "Im pretty sure he will, Preeeeeety sure." He laughs, sarcasm dripping from his words. "Plus, even if he did try to fight me, I Woulden`t fight back. I`d get into more trouble for killing the prince." He laughs against.

"Sure, I woulden`t mind. We could talk some more too. It would be a pleasure, as well as an honor." He says, grinning down at the lioness.

[Ruby_Fehu]

Kovu smiled sweetly at Kito and watched as Kiara turned and left the pair on their own, Kovu waited before turning to Kito and cocking her head to one side, "So where to?" She asked him, with a large smile.

A grin spread across his muzzle. "Well, it would not be a surprise If I told you." He says, a mischievous tone ringing through his gruff vocals. "You`ll just have to see where we go. No spoilers!"
