I've Got You (Private Hyper and Clary)

"Well Iris did manage to track down some pray in the valley over there" Sola said with a satirical grin, "but when we found it she missed the pounce and we lost it." "Well that's alright," Xoren said with a happy tone, "practice makes perfect. We do need to get back out there though, he continued, "I'm starving!"

[Ruby_Fehu]

Ruby smiled and watched as her small family retreated to go hunting again, after a few moments she followed after them, a spring in her step as she walked, "Let an expert show you how to do it." Ruby said to her family playfully.

"An expert eh?" Xoren said playfully, "I think I hold that distinction as well!" "Well dad" Sola said with a smirk, "I have seen both you and mom hunt and I think she's just a little better than you!"

[Ruby_Fehu]

Childishly for a mother of two Ruby grinned at Xoren with obvious smugness before she stuck her tongue out at Xoren, "Told you so." She grinned before leading the way, "Alright girls. This is how you do it..." She said before starting to demonstrate her way of hunting.

Xoren followed as he shook his head and gave his daughter a playful frown and she stared back at him with a large smile. They both crouched down low as Ruby led the pack, their collective moving with a silence that resembled the wind.

Ruby veered off to the left whilst Iris went to the right on her mothers orders, the two looked back at Xoren and Sola in unison to see where they were planning on positioning themselves. "There is some gazelle a couple hundred yards away." Ruby said in a low voice gesturing to the slight silhouettes.

[Hypercube]

"We can go around the back" Sola said looking to her father for a second opinion. "That sounds like an excellent plan" Xoren said nodding his head before turning back to his mate, "you initiate when you are ready." the father and daughter began to jog around the large radius of the herd as not to alarm them and positioned themselves such that the four hunters made a large square around their prey and laid in wait for Ruby's go.

Ruby and Iris continued to creep forward until they were only a slight distance away. Their prey continued to graze as Ruby pressed her stomach to the ground. She couldn't speak now, they were so close if she did they'd hear her and scatter so instead she raced forward towards the herbivores and Iris, quick off the mark and so like her mother started to run a few seconds later.

Just as Ruby began to make her pursuit against the herd Xoren and Sola followed, forcing the herd to attempt an escape through the sides of their formation. With long bounding strides Xoren ran towards a gazelle that Ruby was hear and pounced on its flank, knocking it to the ground as he dug his claws into its flesh. Sola did similarly on the other side of the fray, moving towards her sister as she two jumped upon a much larger gazelle. Though she was strong, her weight was not enough to knock the bigger prey over and she instead held onto its side with her claws as it careened in the opposite direction.

Iris glanced to her right at Sola and saw she was struggling, steering away from the prey she was hunting she went to her sister's side and bounced on the gazelle as well, with the weight of the pair combined the gazelle buckled and fell to the ground in a heap, the sound of it whinnying in pain ringing in Iris' ears.

Sola quickly and skilfully returned to her feet after the gazelle fell, her eyes targeting its neck. As it squirmed on the ground in one final attempt to flee Sola swiftly finished the job as its blood squirted from its neck and its eyes slowly closed. Across the herd Xoren had done the same, looking to his daughters over the compound fracture jutting from his prey's leg. "I suppose we taught them well" he said to his mate as he looked back to her.

Ruby had taken up the position of standing over the families prey protectively in case any scavengers were in the shadows, ready to steal their kill. When Xoren spoke to her she looked over at him and smiled fondly, nodding her agreement. "Certainly looks that way." She then turned back to her daughters and raised her voice to speak to them, "You two ready for home?"

Definitely" Sola said between her heavy breaths, "I could eat this whole gazelle by myself at this point!" Sola turned to her sister and then to the heap of flesh that laid on the ground between them before grabbing the gazelle with her teeth and attempting to pull it towards her parents. Xoren could see that while they had grown quite a bit they still were far from strong enough to drag entire gazelles back home. "I suppose we should help them," Xoren said with a small chuckle, "I will tell Iris to help with this one and I can assist Sola with theirs." Xoren gave a small nuzzle to his mate before moving towards his cub's prey and speaking to Iris as he moved: "Iris! Would you mind helping your mother with our catch? Sola and I will bring this home."

Ruby watched amused when Xoren went to Sola's side and Iris trotted over to her. Ruby purred and nuzzled her daughter before gripping the carcass by the neck and starting to hoist it up slightly, Iris followed suit by grabbing the flank. The mother and daughter duo lifted the prey and slowly made their way to the other pair. "We're ready." Ruby said, even though her words were muffled they were still audible - only just.

(OOC: I'm probably going to have my characters start discovering their fantasy abilities soon. Not sure if you want to do it around the same pace as I but I figured I would let you know!)

Xoren moved to his daughter and nuzzled her as Ruby did Iris before gripping a portion of the gazelle that was not claimed by the young huntress. "As are we!" he yelled back through a mount full of fur and flesh before begging to steady drag towards the cave. The father and daugther pulled the carcass along the dirt leaving a trail of crimson blood behind before Sola halted and let go of the corpse in reaction to a gust of wind. "What's wrong?" Xoren asked knowing his kin's face of alert. "Can you smell them?" she asked as she sniffed the moving air before pointing with her paw to a group of plants, "Scavengers, and lots of them -- in those bushes over there."
