Xoren and Sola looked to each other with a shared comical expression as they clenched their mouths in order to prevent their laughter. After the urge passed, Sola jogged so that she moved next to her sister eager to watch and critique. Xoren also followed her daughter but slowed down as he met his mate and walked beside her, giving her a warm smile as he reached her. "Even as an adolescent, your daughter is still adorable" he said to Ruby as he watched Iris marching.

Ruby glanced at Xoren and smirked, "That she is, a bit of a ditz though." She then looked up at him firmly, "And she's your daughter too. Not just mine." She scolded him affectionately, nuzzling into his cheek.

"True" he said licking her cheek in a loving fashion as they walked. "I really do need to thank you;" he said watching his two daughters marching ahead of them, "I need to thank you for being such a wonderful mother to Sola. I know I don't say it enough, but this family that we've created is my - and her - everything."

Ruby smiled up at Xoren sweetly and shook her head, "You don't need to thank me my darling." She said, "I love her as if I carried and birthed her. As far as I'm concerned she is my family and so are you and Iris, I'm only doing a job of a mother."

Xoren smiled back at his mate his heart fluttering in a similar way to when he expressed his love - he had felt the same way, but it took someone else saying it to solidify it. "And I love you and Iris as if I had raised both of them with you," he said becoming lost in the fiery eyes he stared into, "and the memories of those times are the only ones I could ever ask for."
Sola continued to follow her little sister but also paid close attention to their surroundings. To the east, she caught the scent of a few animals brought over to her by a breeze. "Iris," she called in a suggestive tone as she jogged to Iris's left flank, "do you want some help? I have some skills I could teach you."

Ruby smiled at him and nuzzled into him, purring noisily and trying to express how much that meant to her through actions rather than words."Maybe we should try for another cub." She said softly, as she continued to follow her two daughters. She dared to peek up at him to see his reaction to her words.
"Well mum taught them to you didn't she? Maybe that would be good." She said looking up at her sister with her head tilted to one side.

Xoren stopped his walk at her proposal, not out of confusion or disgust, but rather out of genuine thought. "Well" he said awkwardly, "I would be lying if I said I hadn't thought about it." He turned to his mate and just stared, feeling the loving tension in the conversation. "I don't think I would rather have another cub with anyone else than you" he finally said after a short silence, "but are we sure we want to take that step now, given the circumstances?"
"Well," Sola said with her head picked up a bit, "the trick is to take advantage of what's going on around you. Right now you can use the wind to your advantage; sniff it. See if you can catch the scent of anything."

"A cub takes a few months to come into the world Xoren. I'm sure the journey with the lions from Pride Rock won't last that long. It's entirely up to you though." She said rubbing herself against his flank before looking towards their daughters and back to him. "I'd want a son though, if you could pick and choose." She said with a playful smile.
Iris obeyed her sister and sniffed carefully. "I can smell something. But I can't figure out what." She said after a few moments of silence.

"I know that" he said with a smirk before looking up to the sky as if it would give him some sort of advice. "I guess that would be nice," he responded looking to his daughters as they spoke, he wouldn't mind having a boy at this point. "Ruby," he said after he thought about the situation, "let's do it."
"Just close your eyes," she said with the voice of a skilled teacher, "think through the different smells you've encountered and find one that matches."

Ruby peered up at Xoren and her smile grew even wider than she thought possible before starting to purr and rub against him, nuzzling her forehead into his chest. "Let's." She repeated.
Iris did as her sister commanded until she finally picked up the scent of a wildebeest. "I found something." She informed Sola, continuing to sniff the air and the wildebeest.

Xoren stood like this for a while, bathing in the joy of the occasion and thinking to the future he had with this family. He did not notice at first but he had began to purr as well as he lowered his head to meet Ruby's.
Sola smiled at Iris's find, overjoyed that her sister was making progress. "Which way is it?" Sola asked, hoping that she came up with the correct answer as she looked Eastward to the origin of the wind.

Ruby looked to their two daughters before nudging herself against Xoren and retreated a small distance away in the opposite direction hoping Xoren would follow, her daughters were quite clearly distracted, Sola was doing a good job teaching Iris without needing Xoren and Ruby.
Iris continued to sniff before announcing her final decision. "East." With that she led the way, expecting her sister to follow.

Xoren caught the hint and began to follow his mate, pausing for a moment to look back to his daughters. Once he was satisfied in his own mind that they would be alright on their own, he continued to move, smiling and touching his flank to hers as they walked.
"Good job!" Sola said giving her sister a small nudge with her paw. Once Iris began to move towards the scent Sola followed her, staying slightly behind her as to not influence her.

Ruby nuzzled against him purring noisily before veering off under a tree, starting to paw playfully at him.
Iris continued wandering off until she finally passed through a tangle of trees and into the opening where the wildebeest were gathered, "Found it!" She giggled looking up at her sister proudly.

Xoren moved into the cool shade of the tree, laying next to his mate and returning the playful gestures as he smiled brightly. With a careful force, he pulled her down next to him and licked her cheek with passion as his tail swayed back and forth.
Sola moved up next to her sister once they found their prey and smiled to her. "Good job Iris!" she said with hushed excitement as she crouched down and prepared to attack. "Well" she said after a moment, "it's your find, you take the first pounce."

After their rendezvous Ruby fell asleep curled up against her mates side, a content smile on her lips and her breathing steady as she enjoyed being in her mates company.
Iris grinned and lowered herself to her belly and prowled forward, with a single motion she pounced forward, missing the wildebeest by a long shot sending it fleeing in the opposite direction. Iris sat up and looked at Sola looking disappointed before looking behind her sister, "Where are mum and dad?"

(Yeah =P It's pretty much implied anyway:  ) Xoren moved into his mate's sleep, resting his head on her back as he allowed sleep to take him.
"You've still got some work to do kiddo" Sola said with a big grin as she walked calmly out of the brush. When Iris asked where their parents went Sola looked around her their surroundings, not catching even a sign of them. "They must have branched off back there" Sola said still scanning the area, "do you wanna go find them or keep hunting?" |

Iris nibbled on her lip and looked at the now animal-free area around them."Let's go find them. We can go hunting when we know where mum and dad are." She said decidely after a moment, looking up at her sister.

"Won't I be a little too big for you now Sola?" Iris asked giggling a little. The idea was tempting but she didn't want to break her sister after all.
Ruby began to stir and she yawned a little, she opened her eyes slowly and blinked a little before looking up at Xoren who was still sleeping, she smiled a little as she watched her beloved mate before licking him every so slightly.

"I can handle it" Sola replied knowing that her sister couldn't refuse an offer like this, "you're not too big!" She walked to her sister and lowered herself so that Iris could climb up and readied herself to carry before flicking her tail towards herself. "Ready?" she asked looking back to Iris.
Xoren awoke to the soft licks of his mate and smiled before opening his eyes and returning the gesture in the same fashion. After a little bit he stood and let out a huge yawn, his mouth opening wide and teeth baring as he stretched.

Iris smiled and clambered onto her sister carefully, she was right she was too big - or getting there at least. Shuffling herself she managed to get herself into a comfortable position as she looked down at her big sister lovingly.
Ruby remained lay down as she watched Xoren stand up. After a few moments she rolled onto her back and stretched all her paws skywards and arched her neck as she stretched before rolling back onto her front and pushing herself into a standing position. "Shall we go looking for Sola and Iris? You never know what trouble they would get into considering we've given them a chance by wandering off." She laughed.

Sola shifted herself around with the extra weight until she felt capable of carrying the "little" sister that was perched on her back. "See?" she asked looking to her side attempting to catch Iris's eyes, "You're not to big for me! Alright..." she said looking around into the distance for any signs of their parents, "let's just head back the way we came." After a few wobbly first steps of readjusting to the extra load on her back she walked with ease through the light brush they came from.
"Sure" Xoren said with a smile as he blinked his eyes rapidly, attempting to remove the tears that accumulated from his yawn. "Which way shall we head?" he asked moving to his mate and nuzzling up against her whilst he purred.

"Whatever you say Sola." Iris giggled, clinging onto her sister whilst she started to walk.
"We'll go back the way we came." Ruby said decidedly, looking up at Xoren. "They're probably still around that area." She stretched herself out as she spoke before padding to the mouth of the cave and looking out overt he area.

Sola carried Iris out the other side of the brush and looked around at the semi-barren savanna they had just passed through. "Do you think they might be over there?" Sola asked looking towards a small chain of rocky hills in the distance.
"Alright," he said following her to the mouth of the cave as he spoke. He stood with her for a moment and then quickly danced down the rocks and landed on the dusty ground with a silent landing. "Well?" he said looking up to his mate, "you coming slow-poke?"

"Let's try it." Iris replied to her sister with a small nod, she slid off her back and padded a little ahead of Sola, sending her gaze around the area carefully.
"Oh, slowpoke am I?" Ruby asked with a mischievous grin. With surprising ease she bounded down the rocks and landed agilely beside her mate, holding her head up high she started to trot ahead of him, "Hurry up Xoren, we haven't got all day."

"So that's how it's going to be huh?" Xoren replied with moxie as he started to gain speed with a swift silence. "Come on Ruby," he said playfully copying her tone as he passed her at nearly full speed before shouting back, "we haven't got all day!" As the wind blew through his mane, Xoren could not help but smile; it was these times that made him love his mate even more than he already did, her playful nature synchronizing with his in a beautiful and wonderful way.

Ruby scoffed and raced after him bounding in front of him and cutting him off. With a grin she pounced on him and knocked him to the ground before standing over him with a smug grin, "Looks like I can outrun and out fight you." She purred lowering her head and nuzzling against his cheek. With a laugh she began mouthing at his muzzle, growling playfully the whole time.

"Alright, that's enough fooling around you two!" Sola said as she approached her parents with a smirk. "Sola!" Xoren spluttered struggling to stand up against Ruby's embrace, "When did you two get here?" "We just walked up," Sola laughed in response as she lowered herself down to allow Iris to disembark from her back, "where have you two been? "We've been busy discussing how we're going to approach getting to Pride Rock from here" Xoren replied without skipping a beat, his smiling face turned to Ruby.

Ruby cleared her throat and lowered her gaze to hide the embarrassment at being caught flirting around with Xoren, "Y-yeah, we're going to stay here for another day then head west." Ruby said, stumbling over her words a little, refusing to look up at her daughters. "How did the hunting go?" She asked changing the subject carefully.
