Amuratha smiled and despite her best efforets couldn't resist joining him in the water. She let out a cry of delight as she splashed in the relaxing water.

After a while of splashing around, Jangwa spoke:"Thank you, Amuratha. You have saved me.". Jangwa then reached out and touched her wet fur. He let out a suprised yelp, as he had never actually felt before.

Amuratha smiled at his words and touch and said "And you have saved me." the glass rose twinkled almost as bright as her eyes and she put her paw atop his.

"You are the only person who can neutralize my body shielding." Jangwa said, trying to lift the mud. It was possible when he acted on his own, but the autonomous mind behind his powers couldn't. He took the then made the rose fly, floating it down to the sand, so that he could work on it again. He made the stalk disappear, and instead made a large loop, turning it into a necklace. He then put it on Amuratha, smiling gently.

Amuratha gave him a soft smile and she had to deny herself the need to feel his fur against hers and as he placed the necklace around her neck she smiled and without her thinking she blushed and leant against Jangwa, closing the space between them. Only to quickly pull away with a bright face and apologise with quick words.

"I can't lie, but i actually have. Years back. She died. The sand killed her. If only I had known..." Jangwa said, holding back the sadness.

Amuratha leaned against him, this tie she didn't pull away. "You cant change the past or what you did."

"True. But nonetheless. Some things should be changed. Even though they can't." Jangwa said. "I've been going on about me. What about you? Your powers. Your past."

Amuratha gave him a small smile and sighed "They aren't too special and it isn't worth telling. I have had an almost entirely uneventful past, it is much less boring then yours."

"Every living thing has a story to tell. Even the plants. The only matter is whether we want to listen." Jangwa said. "Amuratha, you are the most beautiful thing i have ever seen. You rival even the red sunset of the desert. I am sure you have a story to tell."

Amuratha gave a soft blush and replied with a delicate smile and a gentle sigh. "I was an effete and sensitive cub, I was insecure and even though I had a safe pride who embraced my powers I never felt like I fit in. I lived with my powers and let them grow, but soon they started consuming me, I was using them for bad things and I hurt people... One day they completely took hold and I caused someone to have an early death. I ran from my pride, hoping that I wouldn't be able to hurt anyone further. I lived alone for two years, learning to survive alone. I was less then a mile away from my pride lands and I heard my fathers pained cry. I ran to see what the matter was, but I was far too late, my family was surrounded in flame, my mother and father lay dead, side by side, my brothers trying to extinguish the flames. There was so much pain... I tried to save them but the flames were too many and they consumed my brothers and pride." Her eyes were soft and she leant against Jangwa's side a tear dripping down her face.

Amuratha sighed, she had been surprisingly open with this lion, and she didn't understand why. She splashed water in his face and gave him a daring smile.

Jangwa suddenly opened his eyes wide. He felt blood running to his head, and after a short while, he collapsed on the ground. "No, no! Go away! I can't... Leave me alone." He whispered to himself. He started coughing blood, tainting the water.

Amuratha's eyes widened and her daring smile dropped from her face, a shocked and pained looks replacing it "Oh god..." she whispered, her rose sparkled around her neck and she was afraid of touching him all she could do is sit beside him, her face ashen as the blood filled the water surrounding her. She went closer to him and tears flowed in constant streams and she constantly mumbled apologies and collapsed, sorrow filling her. She tried to collect herself, but she just fell apart as soon as she managed to plug the tears.
As she felt the warm water surrounding her warmed and became thicker she stopped crying and looked dead eyed at Jangwa "You are going to be fine, I know it." she tried to convince the both of them, but somehow she knew he wasn't going to be able to hear her from the pathway to an unexplored place by the living.

A couple of metres away, out of the water, some of the sand collected. At first, it was a small vortex of sand, but after a while, it turned into a leonine form. The sand-lion laughed madly. "If it isn't little Desert! Long time no see. Who is your companion? The sand-lion said, with a voice cold as death. Jangwa attempted to push himself up, but couldn't. "Leave... Leave us... Alone..." Jangwa said weakly.

As the huge sand lion formed a loud growl collected in Amuratha's throat and she snarled at the beast, all of her sorrow gone, replaced with cruel anger. Her position was defensive and she roared up at the beast. "Leave us alone!" she leapt forward at the beast water collecting under her paws and trailing behind her as she sailed towards the sand lion.

Amuratha dup her wet paws and claws into the lions sandy flesh and sunk her hand in, then made the sphere in her paw burst, hoping it would inflict damage

Jangwa screamed in agony as a wound appeared on his arm. "Amuratha! He is me! Don't..." He said, collapsing again.

Amuratha fell from the sand lion in shock, the water splashing up into her vision as she fell into the water. She looked from Jangwa to the huge form of lion and a single tear fell down her face, she was hurt him, she was hurting people she held dear, again. She stayed under the stained water, her eyes wide, bubbles leaking from her mouth.

Jangwa stood up. "Go back to my mind, were you belong, demon. I can and will hurt you." He said. "You forgot! I am you! Ahahahaha! You both reek with fear." The monstrosity said.

Amuratha gasped for air as she reached the surface and she quickly swam to Jangwas side and said quietly "If you just imagine that part of you shriving up and dying it will, it is not real." her voice was soft, but she was simply repeating her fathers wise words

"Won't work with this one. He only became me. He was once an actual demon. But i know what demons resent." Jangwa said, taking a deep breath. "You see that lioness? She's my friend! I care for her! She is important to me!" As Jangwa shouted, the demon shrunk in size. Jangwa lifted some sand and turned it into glass. He then directed it at himself, cutting a gash into his forehead. The wound was formed as a stylized rose, as the one he had given to Amuratha.

Amuratha gasped as he cut a gash into his forehead and spread her paws around him, a reflex rather then a thought. She turned to the sand giant, a fierce fire in her eyes as tears fell down her face. "Stop! Please..." *I love him* she thought as everything fell into place and she buried her face into his shoulder.

As the wound transferred to the monster, its sand body began to fall apart. "Compassion... Is... A... Lie..." The monster said. Jangwa looked at Amuratha.
