Amuratha sat submerged in clear water, her head beneath the cool, refreshing water as she tried to fill her sense with water instead of the sand that she had crossed for over 2 days. Her mind crossed over her many thoughts as she let the silk like water passed over her body. She had been wondering through this dessert for over two days and she could barely remember why or how she got there.

Jangwa's throat was as dry as the Kalahari. He had been walking aimlessly for a long time, and even his powers were spent. Luckily, he was had just found a pond, which he was headed to. He then noticed a figure in the water. He moved closer, only to realize he wasn't downwind, meaning the figure would find him soon.

Amuratha slowly lifted her head out from the water, her fringe wet heavy with water, but she smelt something on the air and spun around, growling as she did so, her normally soft features hard with aggression.

Jangwa jumped back, suprised. He then shook his head and closed his eyes. Slowly, the sand around him started to float up, forming a circle around him. "Don't push it." He said.

Amuratha gave a chocked laugh and sent a spiral of fast moving water towards the lion, her eyes almost laughing as she watched the water hit the swirling sand

Jangwa looked confused for a second, but shook it off quickly. He formed the sand into a barrier, stopping the water. He then thickened the barrier, as he realized the outer layers turned into mud. "I have the entire desert at my disposal!" He shouted warningly.

Amuratha shook the water from her mane but froze it in mid air "Maybe you shouldn't waste it on a battle you've already lost then." she said through gritted teeth as she sent the hardened water towards the lion, the power behind them was strong and so should be able to cut effortlessly through the sand barrier and inflict some damage or at the very least distract my target, she thought to herself

Jangwa smiled slightly. He quickly pulled up more sand from the ground. He then fused it all together, a mix of sand and minerals. A shield of extreme strength. He then created a tsunami of sand behind him, hundreds of tonnes of sand, moving with the force of a thousand bufallos. All moving towards the powerful female.

Amuratha saw the great amounts of sand flying towards her and she froze as the sand nocked her backwards and she her frame splashed into the shallow water and thumped as the air was knocked from her lungs. She wheezed and a smile spread across her mouth "Well, Touché!" she laughed and shakily got to her paws

Jangwa quickly moved the sand to her legs, grabbing her. "Pardon?" He asked, mildly confused.

Amuratha kept her head low and said giving him a sly smile "Well done, you won your battle, I will leave you in peace." she had no visible injuries from the battle and the sand surrounded her legs she giggled "No need for that." Amuratha had hopped that the battle wouldn't result in this, the winner tying her down and defeating her through and through.

"Excuse my manners," Jangwa said, releasing her, "I am Jangwa. I control the sands. You might have realized this by now. I will let you live, for you fought well. And i can't lie, but your stunning looks made the battle tougher." The last part was said with an embarassed smile.

Amuratha gave him a graceious smile and stood, bowing her head in respect, her bright eyes lit with the flame of adrenaline. "And I am Amuratha, controller of the water element. Thank you for the battle, it has been a while since a lion has put up a good a fight as that one." she said with a large smile, then added with a daring glint in her eyes "I do believe you just gave me a compliment!" she lowered her front half closer to the sand in a curtsy in thanks and then looked back up at him, her eyes large.

"What sane lion wouldn't compliment a pretty lioness such as yourself?" Jangwa said, smiling as charming as he could.

Amuratha gave a loud laugh "You'd be surprised!" she gave him a wide smile and giggled at his smile and sat back down, hunched over slightly, her eyes reflecting the hot sun. Her lagoon blue pelt looking out of place against the bright sand.

Jangwa walked a bit closer and layed down across from Amuratha. "Were are you from?"

Amuratha gave him a secretive smile "Well, that is my information, you are going to have to convince me to tell you." Se then pushed down on the sand with her paw and as she brought it up a small sand tornado was beneath her paw. "There is a lot people don't know about me." she smiled at him and moved the tornado onto her paw, then with a swift motion closed her paw and the tornado was nothing but sand trickling out from between her toes.

Jangwa closed his eyes and started fusing some sand. The sand was compacted and turned into glass. After a short while of concentration, Jangwa had created a rose, made from pure glass. He gave the rose to Amuratha. "Will this convince you?"

Amuratha gave him a small smile and said softly "Yes, thank you." she took the rose and slipped I infront of her ear and took a deep breath in "I come from a small pride far from here, only it is broken and dead now, I can still see the hot flames and hear the tortured screams of my family." she gave him a soft smile but a tear came to her eyes.

Amuratha wiped away the tear and gave him a small, delicate smile "Nothing could have changed what happened." then she moved beside him and let their fur intertwine "Everyone has a family... Just yours weren't known to you." She tried to keep the atmosphere light, but it wasn't going so well.

Jangwa quickly stood up, as he realized his entire flank was covered in sand, from where Amuratha had touched him. "No, no... Not now." He mumbled to himself.

Amuratha moved her gaze to Jangwa and a confused look crossed her face "What? Oh" She took a step back, thinking it was their contact and walked to the waters edge, her paws submerged in the cool liquid.

"Your powers are a gift. Mine are a curse. I can't... I can't touch anyone." Jangwa said, unsheathing a claw. He raised to his arm, and tryed cutting himself. The sand stopped him.

Amuratha looked over at him, empathy filling her eyes "Depends on how you look at it..." She looked back at the water and said softly "I am sorry.."

"The sand is cold and unforgiving. It vanquishes all of my feelings. I can't even feel pain. Sometimes, i wish i didn't have the powers." Jangwa said with a depressed sigh.

Amuratha giggled and gave Jangwa a large smile, lapping up some water. Then had an idea, she collected a sphere of water in her paw and walked towards Jangwa, letting the water fall over the sand, hoping it would turn to mud and fall from his pelt.

Jangwa smiled at the idea. He walked into the sphere, and to his joy, he realized the sand fell off. He opened his eyes wide, and before Amuratha could react, he had jumped into the water. The several kilos of sand fell off, and turned into mud. Jangwa laughed happily.
