Name: Kwaai
Nickname: Kai
Species: lion
Age: Young adult
Gender: Female
Description:
Kwaai has her mothers ashy grey pelt and her fathers stormy blue eyes. Her fur is a light grey with black speckles on her nose, along her jaw line, and variously on her legs, tail, and ears. The most prominent of these spots being the one over her left eye. The most noticeable thing about her would be the cropped, upright position of her rather small ears and the four long tears that scar her left ear. She has a white muzzle, chest, and part of her under belly, as well as white paws and one white splotch on her nose. The tuft of fur on her tail is black, as is the fur lining/inside her ears. On her head is a tuft of fur that is slightly longer than the rest of her pelt, giving her a slight Mohawk look. She is a medium/long haired lion with a moderately stocky build and lean legs that are perfect for running. Though she isn't the biggest of cats, Kwaai has enough size and power to deliver a hefty blow and to win a fight need it be.
Behaviour:
Kwaai is a fairly even tempered and calm cat, but when pushed enough, she becomes fierce, fiery, and sarcastic. Making her this mad isn't easy, it will take a bit of time for her anger to build up, but when she explodes, heaven help the cat that <3 <3 <3 her off. Personality wise, she loves to have fun and be with others, there is no truer prideland cat than she, for Kwaai always craves company. She is always coming up with new things to do and can quite often be found messing around by the water hole, her favorite lounging spot. She isn't overly patient, hunting is about the only thing she'll sit still for and will pay attention to 100%, but when it comes to waiting for others to catch up, she lacks any patience what so ever.
Though she isn't too patient, she loves cubs. Playing with them, teaching them new things, and giving them rides on her back is a favorite past time of Kwaai's and to her it never grows old. Someday she wants to have some of her own, but for now she is content with being immature and goofing off.
In contrast to her usual, charming self, Kwaai sometimes gets into these sullen and quiet moods everytime her past gets mentioned or she stops to think about it too much. Also, many nights have been sleepless due to nightmares from these experiences. Though she hides it well, Kwaai still feels as if a piece of her is missing and constantly aches with sadness that can still be seen, no matter how well hidden, in her stormy blue eyes. This is felt for her family, which she lost long ago.
History:
Kwaai was born to Okatu and Fenzi of a far off pride in northern Africa. Okatu, her mother, was a stern, but loving mother and her father, Fenzi, was very laid back and relaxed. When she was about five months old, Kwaai wandered from her mother, father, and brother, Jasti. She went farther than she had ever gone before and wound up lost, outside of African preservations where she was picked up by an experimentist and kept until she was about a year old. In that time frame, she was kept with other lions who were also from the wild, ones who taught her how to hunt and fend for herself. The humans who had taken Kwaai had cropped her ears and tagged her left one so that they might find her again when they released her back into the wild.
When they released her, they put Kwaai in a completely unfamiliar territory filled with animals that she didn't know and lions that were wary of newcomers. About a month later, she ran into an old, wary, and very bad tempered lion called Rajik who was very against the "human filth" (as he put it) in her ear. Without warning he had attacked, raking his claws through her left ear until he had ripped the tag out. Kwaai was left with four horrible tears in her ear and another smaller scar at the corner of her eye. The experience gave her nightmares for weeks on end, even now Kwaai has them at times.
Bleeding badly, she sought shelter until she found the pridelands and the lions that lived there. They welcomed her into the pride and she adjusted well, remembering her parents and the three lions that helped her out (Jaxten, Corenk, and Kronk). Ever since then, Kwaai has been giving her best to her pride, but longs to find her family and the childhood that was snatched so cruelly from her by those wretched humans.
Additional things to add into the profile:
She HATES humans for what they did to her (She was taken for experimentation) and she wants to find that old lion and pay him back for her ear. Other than that, she has no real grudges against anyone.
