Kovu's heart slowly sank at Kiara's words. He'd been so happy to see her again, but her happiness at being with him... aparrently, it was shortlived.
And it was all his fault. He had lost her her father's kingdom. He didn't deserve her, and Kiara, his wife, had every right to be disillusioned with him.
"And if you don't trust me enough to at least let me know what is going on, then I don't know if I can put all my trust in you."
Those words stung the most. She thought he didn't trust her... and as some sort of petty revenge, she was going to withdraw her trust from him. That made him frustrated. That made him angry.
He roared, and the sound resonated over the savannah. Leaping over the long grass he stepped in front of Kiara, glaring down at her. "I trust you... with my life," he said slowly, carefully, "But I know you: I don't trust you with secrets." With that the anger fled from him, from the sight of her eyes in the twilight, the only lioness he had ever desired. Seeing her in pain was as much a stimulus to anger as listening to a cub crying for its mother. She wanted to go, he could tell, so he got out of her way, saying as he walked away, "Know though that each of these scars on me are for you. Each one of them are so you don't feel alone or helpless again." And there will be many more to come. "Don't forget that I love you."

Nala sat there gently tapping her paw waiting for her mate to hurry up and come to her, she had to come up with some sort of plan to keep Mheetu with them all, she wasn't sure if he was let wander about by himself again, he would survive.
Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw her mother move past Simba and come towards her reaching her first, and then of all things she told her off, she actually spoke to her like a little cub.
"For goodness sake, go back to your mate and stop this nonsense, I'm taking Mheetu with me, we will be spending the night in Malkas cave, no where else, and if he's not wanted then I will leave with my son, your brother back to the waterhole."
Feeling a blush come to her cheeks, Nala lowered her head and didn't reply, she was starting to think that Malkas attitude had indeed rubbed off onto her mother in such a short time. Standing to her paws she held her tongue again and watched as her mother walked Mheetu away to where she had last seen Malka go.

Mheetu heard his mother talk to nala and as he was hiding behind the rock He felt his mother pull him and not letting go. Mheetu looked at nala and shrugged as his mom and him walked away. Mheetu then began to ask "Mom?Whats your plan if Malka says i cant stay?" Mheetu knew malka when he was a cub and he has always been the tough one to reason with.
Mheetu followed his mom to the waterhole and then he sat down grinning kinda cubishly and then sighed and tilted his head down. Mheetu thought he had down something wrong. He had the feeling in the pit of his stomach that something really good or really bad was about to happen. He looked at his mom curiously wondering why she was treating him like a cub again like how she pulled him down priderock to the waterhole.

Her muscles clenched defensively with the power of his roar. Instinctively she flinched back, letting her eyes squeeze to a close. She want so badly to bolt, and just run away from it all. She wished she could just cover her ears and scream like a cub who didn't want to listen to her parents. Still something made her stay, something made her listen to what he had to say. As if she had hopes that he would actually tell her what was going on. The trail his words left stung, and she could tell by the way he had spoken, that this would not be the last of his mysterious battle wounds.
Her tail tremored slightly, showing how close she was to completely loosing it. Her claws extended, digging into the dry dirt; she kneaded at it as if it would distract her from the ache that had developed in the pit of her chest. She was trying incredibly hard to hold the waterfall of tears that was pounding on the insides of her eyelids back. It was all she could do to whisper a small comment over her shoulder, hoping that he would hear it.
"When you decide that I am important enough, and reliable enough to know who did this to you come find me." Her voice had a hiss to it, and it was flat with pain and anger. True, her words were a little harsh, and they were a little on the side of foul play. But at this point, she just wanted him to hurt, at least a fraction of what she was feeling. With that she crouched slightly, before flinging herself forward and darting into the tall maze of grass.
As she wandered around, having no sane idea as to where she was going, her mind began racing over what she had said. Guilt stabbed at her as she realized she had left out one big part. In her bit of withdrawn rage she had forgotten to tell him that she loved him. Her head tipped forward, staring at her running paws. Suddenly her body felt to heavy to carry. Her knees buckled, and she fell to a heap on the warm earth. A pained moan escaped her lips, as she let the gentle flow of tears finally break out.

(Posting for Simba, seeing we have no one rp him )
Simba slowly walked down to where he could see a ruckas happening, and again it looked like Malka was in the middle of it all. Letting a sigh escape through his muzzle, he wasn't sure how and what he could do to fix things and bring them all back to a caring family like before Malka arrived. Hearing something stomping towards him Simba looked at the approaching lion.
"King's advisors may rest in Pride Rock tonight... they can bring their wives, too," Simba held back any words and only sign that he had heard was the blinking of his eyelids. I think not oh Lord and master
Just as he reached his mate, she went running past him and he saw she had words with Malka. damn that female, I told her to keep her thoughts to herself and let me handle it, and what does she do, goes off in a little tantrum and will just stuff everything up, for everyone else Ignoring her he carried on, only to have sarafina rush past him. good she can go deal with her daughter for once
Turning his large maned head back, he suddenly realised who and what was in front of him and a smile appeared on his face.
" Timon.. Pumba.. what.. what are you doing here ? It's so great to see you. Come here my friends, give us a big hug for old times sake."

"Welcome to MY pridelands."
These words continued to echo trough the tiny meerkat's mind, and it actually took rather long for the quarter to fall.
"Wha? Abuh? Ble? Hap? Who?" was all that the poor sap could utter, this time it was Pumbaa's turn to plant a hoof on his forehead and rub it in frustration. Timon could be so annoying during sudden 'realizations'. The warthog however knew all along that something was wrong, and this simply confirmed it. Thus to him, the surprise was only minor.
Growing too frustrated with Timon's continued rambling, he gave his friend the imfamous 'snap out of it' slap, returning Timon to his senses.
"Thanks amigo, I needed that," he exhaled, wiping the sweat off his brow.
Something strange had happened, and therefore the duo sat down and planted their hands/hoofs under their chins, going into thinking mode.
"We left soon after the prides were united..." Timon began, the warthog nodding in confirmation.
"...and we returned a few months later..." Pumbaa added.
"...but now Simba is nowhere to be seen and another lion claims to be king..." Timon continued, Pumbaa once again nodded and harumphed approvingly.
"I've got it!" the meerkat suddenly exclaimed, snapping his fingers, "This is Simba's original male cub who was retconned during the release of the Lion King 2! What was the fella's name..."
"You're grasping at straws there now, Timon," Pumbaa retorted, and then added in a whisper: "not to mention you're breaking the fourth wall."
The meerkat gasped and rapidly looked around to see if nobody had heard him, which luckily no one had. He then motioned to the warthog to keep this ordeal between them, to which Pumbaa winked. It was then when they heard the voice they wanted to hear.
"Timon.. Pumba.. what.. what are you doing here? It's so great to see you. Come here my friends, give us a big hug for old times sake."
"SIMBA!" the two practically screamed before literally crashing into their old friend.
"Simba mah man!" Timon cheered, "what has happened around here?"

Nala sat there all alone, her mother had basically told her she was in the wrong..again, and had taken Mheetu away to where Malka was off skulking, and now Simba was showing disapproval towards her, seemd like she just couldn't win.
Moving her head slightly she looked around her, and at those who were still there. Things had changed in all their lives and not for the better since ...He had arrived, but now they needed to come up with a solution, or maybe it was upto her only, that way if anything went wrong, it would be only her to suffer.. but if everything went how she wanted it to, they would all be free once again and Kovu could take back his and Kiara's rightful place.
A smile spread over her face.. yes she would have to think on this some more, in the meantime, she would join Simba, it looked like the fun had just started.

Her blood-red eyes gazed through the grasslands. She sat motionless for what seemed like hours of time, watching how the sun slowly went lower and lower. She noticed how the shadows became longer at each passing moment, and how the first, twinkling stars appeared to the horizon. The stars... Their lights were still very pale, after all the fiery disk was still giving a fair amount of light to the sky. Scruffy had been walking for quite some time after Kovu had turned his back at her and she had left the waterhole. She had been thinking, considering all the options she had, spoken to some lionesses from both prides to gather information, and she had gone through the facts that she had and that she had just received. That is, until she had found the small group of flat rocks and had decided to sit upon one of those and properly arrange her thoughts. Pride Lands were not the same, that she knew for sure. Things had changed when Malka had stepped to the Pride Lands' side of the border. Had he not appeared things would be still running along smoothly, Kovu and Kiara would still rule their half of the Pride Lands and... The assassin tilted her head forward, closing her eyes momentarily. She hated to admit it, but she partly blamed Kov as well of the current situation. From the information she had heard she now knew that Kovu had attacked Malka, and after that Malka had challenged him. But she had heard, from one of the lionesses she had met just a moment ago, that in Kovu's eyes Malka had been a threat to the throne. The former Outlander stomped the stone with her other front paw, her blood-red eyes opened and flared with rage as she lifted her maw and roared in frustration. Had no one taught Kovu how to behave with strangers?! Her rage dimmed the very second that thought had passed her mind, and she froze. <I was the one looking after him... I could've taught him better... I SHOULD have... I->Her eyes narrowed into slits and she hissed. <No, teaching Kov' wasn't MY responsibility. It was HERS.>She stood up and pounced down from the stone, beginning to circle around the cluster of rocks. Her gaze was locked at the ground, her tail flicked from side to side while she growled quietly. <ZIRA should've taught him, SHE should've prepared him for this...She paused her steps, then turned to circle to the opposite direction, this time shaking her head with a sigh instead of growling. <No... Kov' was never meant to be anything more than a puppet... SHE would've had the power, SHE was the one he obeyed... He was just a tool.>With another sigh the fluffy necked pounced on the same flat stone again and sat on it, gazing to the horizon. The sun had set now, but she only welcomed the calm darkness. It would help her to think clearer. <Kov' must've acted how he felt was right... And this could've happened with any new male lion that was strong enough to form a threat.>She growled again. <And yet, Malka overthrew him even when he could've just left us alone... And overthrowing Kov' lowered Kiara into nothing more than a normal lioness. And with her dies the royal bloodline...>Scruffy tilted her head to the side. No, the royal blood wasn't completely lost. Kopa was still in charge of his pride and so he partly commanded the Pride Lands. But how long would Malka let him do so? How long would that poor excuse of a lion let the last rightful ruler maintain his position? How long would it take until Malka would find out that he could not be a proper king if he was missing the support for his decisions from Kopa's pride? The assassin made her decision. She knew it would be risky, dangerous, and that she needed help. She would have to gather followers, she would need to plot, and she would need to do this all in secret. She could not tell anyone else than those she trusted, and she would not trust anyone who she doubted would not completely support her idea. And she knew that if she did not succeed even Kopa could not save her. "The pounding of the drums of war..." The former Outlander stood up with a grin, stretching her body before she gracefully pounced down from her seat. She sniffed the air, but caught no suspicious scents. After lazily glancing around she smirked in satisfaction, sure that no one was watching her as she headed away from the cluster of stones. She would begin her plans right away, most of what she would do was already clear in her mind. And as she walked she hummed the tune she had heard so many years ago... "Payback time is nearing And then our flag will fly Against a blood-red sky..."
She was... confused. The old lioness had managed to keep her presence hidden from Scruffy, most likely only because said lioness was too deep in thought to notice her. She had watched how Scruffy had sat upon the stone, and she had tried to catch any kind of a hint on what was going on in her mind. But even though she had done her best she so far knew nothing, nothing else than the fact that Scruffy was clearly up to something. That much she could tell from the grin that had spread to the former Outlander's lips, from the new, determined sparkling of her eyes and from the way she held herself as she begun to walk away. However, she was completely unprepared for the tune that Scruffy was humming. It reached her ears and clouded her mind with a sense of familiarity. She was certain she should have been able to recognize that tune, it was like she herself had sang it, but... That could not be, could it? When she tried to repeat the song after Scruffy had disappeared from her sight she could not remember the tune nor could she recall the lyrics. This troubled her greatly, for she was sure that tune was important. The old lioness shook her head and prepared to stand up when her feet simply gave in and her mind was filled with flashes of... the termite nests? She saw a pride, apparently formed only by lionesses and each lioness looking skinny and badly fed. And she saw a cave, the cave where she had used to sleep, and in the centre was the tree stump, but this time it was occupied by a tiny, dark male cub with striking green eyes. And then the tune Scruffy had hummed returned to her mind. But this time it was not something she heard with her ears. No, it was part of the flashes in her mind, and it was her own voice singing the song. "Scar is gone... but Zira's still around To love this little lad Till he learns to be a killer With a lust for being bad!"Zira pounced on her feet, her eyes wide and her heart pounding in her chest rapidly. For the first time in a very long time she was scared, because she realized now that those flashes had been memories, her memories... And... That her name was... She whimpered and dashed into the night, running blindly in fear as she tried to deny the realization that was clouding her mind. ((OOC: umm.... long much? >_> I actually spent several hours trying to type this up, was surprisingly difficult to get Scruffy's part right. <_< But I do like how I managed to sneak in My Lullaby! *coughs-and-ends-this-useless-ooc* :'D))

Kopa stood there anger flooding through him, he had come back to spend time with his mate, had forced himself to leave Scruffy by her self... and for what.. to be grinned at and then she had to run to her whining brother, the one that had lost half their land.
Closing his eyes, his lashes fell like a curtain onto his skin, standing still in the evenings breeze, the lion made himself breathe in and out slowly, waiting for calm to pass over him and to get his emotions back in check once again. Satisfied that the moment had passed, he moved away, wanting solitude for himself and his erratic thoughts.
He could see the old lioness laying under a large tree, she wasn't moving, but that didn't mean she wasn't unawares of what was happening, it was afterall Zira.. they all knew it was, yet still no one was game enough to say it aloud. Kopa lay down in the grass and just stared, maybe it was time to bring everything out in the open, he would force her paw, so to speak.
Crouching even lower, he saw the lioness move a limb and her head seemed to be following someone. Kopa didn't react, just kept his focus as he saw her push herself to her paws, and slink off into long dry grass, that was offering her protection from any prying eyes. Moving himself forward Kopa followed at a discreet pace, matching his paws where hers had left an imprint on the dry ground, his senses on full alert of anything that may happen, it was afterall Zira he was tangling with.
As he moved he felt the heat from the days sun fade away and coolness lay on his skin, nightime had arrived and bringing mystery with it. Stoppng suddenly as he caught the stance of Zira, she had found something interesting it seemed and was concentrating hard, maybe she had found her evening meal. Kopa raised his head slightly, wanting to know what was ahead. His eyes widened and he bit down sharply on his lower lip so his gasp wouldnt alert the old lioness, she had stalked Scruffy, his....his... Scruffy. His first instinct was to move so fast so she wouldn't know what hit her, and rip her throat to pieces, how dare she come back here and pretend and yet all the while.... As he watched ,Scruffy rose to her feet and stretched her body with a grin that covered her muzzle, it was indeed a pleasureable sight to behold, such that it made him want her even more, which he didn't think was possible, and then breaking the spell, she moved away from the stones that had occupied her presence.
Blinking, Kopa dropped down and watched what Zira was going to do, but then she totally confused him by letting out a whimper that reached his ears, he wasn't sure what her cry was, but its seemed...painful and heart wrenching... was this possible from ...her . Before he could do anything else, she rose to her paws, and took off madly into the darkness, away from Scruffy, but running as though the devil was chasing her ready to pounce.
Kopa watched with his mouth hanging open, and then looked in the direction where he saw Scruffy had turned to and then again back to where he had last seen Zira, who should he turn and go after, he was torn but the sight of Scruffy stretching on that rock, made up his mind for him. Turning, his paws hit the ground, still warm from the hots days sun and his nose followed a scent that he hoped would be a welcoming one.

A large smile broke out on Simba's face as he felt his old friends wrap themselves around him, for a moment all his worries just fell away, and he remembered the carefree good old days, when it was just the three of them.
Through a muffled voice Simba spoke to the smaller of the two. "Timon get off my face, I can hardly breathe, it's good to see you as well."
Finally he could see the sun and all around him again, instead of smelly skin pressed up against him. "Guys, you don't know know how good it is to see you both, of all the good timing, that you should turn up now, there's been changes, bad changes if I say so myself."
Looking over their shoulders, to make sure no one was listening in that shouldn't be, Simba took a deep breath, he needed to get everything off his chest, and who better that his old friends, maybe they could even come up with plan, so things could get back to normal again.
"Come, lets walk and I'll fill you in on whats been happening".

Sarafina began to slowly walk towards pride rock, after she had removed Mheetu from behind the large rock where nala had tried to hide him. Everything is changing, those I love and thought I knew are trying to manipulate others for their own gain, why can't they give Malka a go, or even try and talk to him to see what he wants, I have this gut feeling it's all going to end in bloodshed... what can I do, to help.. to change things....
Hearing her son talk to her, the lioness shook her head slowly to clear her thoughts, and turned to look at him more damaged goods to enter the fray. "Mom?Whats your plan if Malka says i cant stay?"
Sighing, she turned away from Mheetu and looked towards where she knew Malka had taken himself. "we will see... we will see". Making her paws speed up a little as she found herself dragging her paws as she herself wasn't sure what the outcome would be when she walked into that cave with her son by herside.

Zira ran blindly, not looking at where she was racing. She just ran and ran, her mind filled with that fatal tune that had sparked at least a part of her memory to life.
She knew now she was Zira, her own voice in her mind singing that song she had called her lullaby was a strong enough proof. She had a faint idea that the shadowy lion from her dreams she had called Taka was the same as Scar who was mentioned in the song, and she now knew that she had trained Kovu to become her tool, and that she had wished Simba's death.
Why, she didn't know. But she had a slight suspicion that the fiery lion from her dreams who every time destroyed Taka was representing Simba. What had happened and why this dream kept haunting her escaped her completely, but it was a horrifying enough discovery that her returned memory had brought with it.
She was Zira, the hated lioness who had led the Outlanders.
That was the only thing she had time to think before she tripped over at something and fell to the ground. She rolled over a few times before she came to a halt. She could feel a sting at her left side, and she realized she must have scratched her side at something and was now bleeding.
However, after moving her muscles and preparing to stand up, she knew the wound was not a bad one. And so she turned her gaze at what had caused her collapse, and to her surprise she saw Kiara. Zira cringed when her memories threatened to take her over again - she saw Kiara stand with her back turned at her, facing her father, telling him they were all one, her trying to reach her paw at her, trying to save her from the fall...
The old lioness shook her head, and realized Kiara was crying. She didn't know what to do or say, the mere sight of her in this state was...
"Apologies", Zira finally said, breaking the silence. "I... was not looking where I was going."
Scruffy was feeling better than she had for a while. She felt excited, rebellious... And she was not afraid. She knew that she would have to use all her speaking skills she had to gain the supporters she needed, but in the end she had a good treat she could use - if all this would fail, she would take the blame.
The former assassin walked with her head held high, and with her tail swaying from side to side merrily. Her steps were light, and for once she didn't look like her usual, troubled self.
Until the wind changed direction and she caught a familiar scent.
Scruffy stopped walking, and her tail stopped swaying. She did not turn to look over her shoulder, she well knew who was following her. Momentarily she thought how long he had been following, and if he had seen her lone pondering at the cluster of stones.
But in the end, what did it matter? She was determined to go on with her plans. So, momentarily she closed her blood-red eyes and let out a quiet, barely noticeable sigh.
"Are you following me, Kopa...?"

Kovu sighed as he mounted the stones to the cave in Pride Rock. The Lair of the Monster, he thought bitterly. He looked over his shoulder one more time, but even his young, keen eyes couldn't make out Kiara in this light. The pridelands were a dusky grey - twilight had come early as the sun set behind clouds on the Western horizon. With a sigh he entered the den, walking slowly, letting his eyes adjust to the darkness.
There on the highest place, surrounded by a handful of attentive females was Malka, slouched over the sleeping platform as if he'd been cast there by an angry rhino. Kovu couldn't understand it - the lionesses looked like they were begging for his attention. What did they see in him, this miserable, jaded king? They all turned to look at him though, and a reluctant smirk spread across Malka's mask of misery.
"Ah, if it isn't the deposed king," he said. "Ladies, if you'll excuse us."
With wary glances between Kovu and Malka the other lionesses filed out. None of them seemed to be worried about being kicked out of the den right on bed time, Kovu thought. They all looked glad to be leaving.
As the last one walked out and Malka stood, Kovu wished he could join them.
***
Outside, the lionesses formed a ring of honour, barring anyone from getting close enough to hear the bloody roars of anger and pain within.

Mheetu looked embarrassed because he never had really talked to his mom about this kind of stuff, he never had the chance to. "Mom if I have to leave...where would i go?"Mheetu was nervice about his life and how it would end up.

Simba turned and walked along with Timon and Pumba, he wasn't sure how much to tell them, would it be wiser to just be brief, in case Malka wanted to know things, then they could save themselves from his anger if they didn't know, or should he just tell them all, then they could help them, maybe even come up with a plan, to get back what was rightfully theirs.
Looking down at his friends, he didn't want them to get hurt, but, Simba also knew that they had been in difficult situations and had always come flying through. Taking a breath, the regal lion retold of the happenings of how Malka had wandered into their pride, pushed Kovu to his limitations and now ruled half the pridelands, but dealt with things through force and intimidation. " so, thats whats happened, and now as an added problem, we have the return of Zira."
Simba stopped walking and turned to the other two beside him. "What we need now is a plan, a plan to get rid of Malka, a foolproof one it has to be, because if it doesnt work, those amongst us will die, and I think Malka would love to see Nala be the first. So gentlemen, what do you think ?"

Kopa was trailing after Scruffy lost in his own thoughts, he could smell her scent as he ambled along, knowing he would come across her sooner or later. why am I going after her, she made her feelings clear.. maybe I should have followed Zira she was the one whose behaviour was the strangest, where has she gone, what if she brings back 'followers' to priderock and this memory loss was just a ruse to get everyone relaxed, what if she has some sinister plan shes about to hatch... and here I am following after Scruffy like.. like.. some teenage fool.
"Are you following me, Kopa...?"
Startled, Kopa stopped in his tracks, his head whipping up hard. "Damn it Scruffy, don't do that, you want me to drop dead at your feet or something". Looking at the expression on her face, he knew not to push it any further, she was in one of those... moods. "Following you Scruffy ?" About to make up some sort of story to put her off her questioning, Kopa paused for a moment, then realised she could see right through him, so met her eyes once more. "Maybe, maybe not... I saw you and Zira head off in the same direction, so curiosity got the better of me, so I came to see what was happening... Iam allowed to roam around, just like you do , you know."
Turning his head, he glanced around noticing they were alone, a smile played upon his muzzle as he turned to face her once again. "So....wanna race ?"

Thunk.
That was the sound of Timon's lower jaw hitting the dirt beneath his feet for the third time since Simba began explaining the situation. Resetting his jaw to it's proper place, the meerkat shook his little head as if it would allow him to make more sense of it all, and then looked the once-a-king directly in the eyes.
"So basically, we have a new Scar on our tails?" he asked, feeling rather annoyed, "We sure have this thing with getting from one troublespot to the next..."
"And Zira's here too?" Pumbaa whispered in fear as his eyes darted from left to right. He didn't like such a thought at all, he remembered the old Zira all too well.
Timon took a step forward.
"Well Simba," he began as he raised his chest in a heroic fashion, "if it's important to you, we're with you to the end!"

Sarabi stood there amongst her family watching as they all went in various directions, sighing a little she could see things were going from bad to worse. Turning she watched as a few lionesses stood away from them all, gossiping about what was going to happen, and with who, Sarabi hated all this 'up in the air' stuff, she wanted things back to how it was.
Her paws made a few steps towards the waterhole, but she changed her mind, she was bored she was going to pay Malka a visit, have a chat maybe, besides she had seen Sarafina and dopey Mheetu go back towards the cave, and Malka had issued that statement about all were welcome, lets see if she was one of them, Grinning to herself Sarabi held her head high and walked casually to where their'ruler' was going to spend the night.

(OOC: Thanks for posting for me Dakota)
As she considered joining Simba she sighed in defeat. Would he allow her to? Hesitantly she got to her feet. Still undecided she walked towards where her mate and disappeared to. If she thought of a good reason not to she would turn around. As her feet led her towards the one she cared for she decided that if he didn't want her she would end there relationship. She shrugged it off, she couldn't bare to think of that. Nala looked up and saw Simba with Timon and Pumbaa, as she got closer she heard him saying something. Nala sat from a distance and listened carefully. "What we need now is a plan, a plan to get rid of Malka, a foolproof one it has to be, because if it doesnt work, those amongst us will die, and I think Malka would love to see Nala be the first. So gentlemen, what do you think ?" Nala smiled to herself, he did care. Swiftly she went to his side. "Simba, why don't you train Kovu up to dominate Malka?" She asked looking up at him, "I'll keep the others safe and you just help him, or if you don't train Kovu any of the other fiesty males." She suggested. She looked at Timon and Pumbaa, "You could always be bait." She said with a playful grin.

Mheetu listened to his mothers words and sighed.... "Mom...If Scar wasnt my dad then...who is? And whos that lioness thats been hanging around simba's son?" Mheetu looked embarrassed because he never had really talked to his mom about this kind of stuff, he never had the chance to. "Mom if I have to leave...where would i go?"Mheetu was nervice about his life and how it would end up. His mane was all messy and scraggly from the dirt and heat he had been in before he returned.

Kopa was clearly startled, Scruffy could hear as much from his voice when he spoke out his first words. Slowly she turned to look over her shoulder at the other lion, her merry expression gone as if it had never been there.
"-- I saw you and Zira head off in the same direction --"
The former Outlander lifted an eyebrow slightly. From what Kopa said she gathered that he hadn't seen her lone ponderings. But Zira had been there too... She mentally cursed herself for not noticing the older lioness' precence before on the cluster of stones, and she cursed the wind for not carrying the Zira's scent to her. She could only guess what the old lioness had done after she had left the stone cluster, and with a quick glance and barely noticeable sniff of air she knew Zira had chosen another direction to go to. Oh how she wanted wanted to track down the old lioness and see how much she had seen and heard...
"So....wanna race ?"
The fluffy necked blinked her eyes. "Wha..?" It took her a moment to completely understand that Kopa was still very much present, and that he had now asked her to.. race? Couldn't he see how much she wanted to run after Zira and, and...
Of course he couldn't... he wasn't a mind reader, and the former assassin wasn't going to share her thoughts with him. Not these thoughts, not when her plans were not ready.
And so she summoned her one-sided smirk and flicked her tail to hide what she really was thinking about under the mask of playfulness. "Race..?" she said on an amused tone. "Last one to reach the old gorge?" She grinned. "Or is that too far for ya, M'lord?"

Sarafina walked along with her son at her side, her mind was in a turmoil, her heart pulling her in many directions, she just wasn't sure about anything anymore, life was becoming one big headache. Hearing Mheetu utter something, she turned her golden head towards him and tried to inject some warmth into her face.
"Mom...If Scar wasnt my dad then...who is? And whos that lioness thats been hanging around simba's son?"
Sarafina swallowed slowly, she wasn't too sure how to go about answering the first part of his question, how could she tell her troubled son, that his father was just a flight of fancy one lazy afternoon... an afternoon she hadn't thought about for many years until now. " Mheetu, your father....was a great lion, one full of caring and compassion, yet still a leader and he moved so majestically. He came to our pride one day and only stayed for a short while, but we spent all our time together, until one morning I woke up and he was gone. I'm not sure if he just wandered off, went looking for a kill or what, but it was the last time I saw him. So in saying this, I want you to banish all thoughts that Scar is your father, he's just a dirty traitor that someone should have killed many years before he inflicted such chaos on all of us."
Getting closer now to where she knew Malka was waiting, Sarafina hesitated and again turned to her son. " Her name is Scruffy, and shes a warrior, a great fighter when need be, she grew up under Ziras rule, but now is one of us.. to a degree anyway.. She listens to no one, she lives and plays by her own rules, and she doesn't suffer fools gladly, so watch your step around her, or you might find part of your anatomy missing a few pieces.. oh and her Kopa and Vitani are very close... you upset them you upset her."
Giving him a nudge forward, Sarafina braced herself for whatever Malkas mood might be once they had taken a few more steps into his sanctuary.

Mheetu listens closly to his mothers words, he didnt know what to think when his mother said his father left after one night. Mheetu's eyes looked at Sarafina solemly "But, mom? That day when I left Nala was the one who told me I had to leave but she never told me why?Now im back so why did I have to leave? I dont want to leave again mom..." A few tears ran down Mheetu's face and dripped onto the dirt.
Mheetu felt his mother nudge him suddenly. He looked at his mother curiously, she had light fur but it wasnt even close to how light his own fur was and his mom and sister had apple green eyes; My eyes are blue? "Mom how come there are no other lions with fur as pale as mine?" Mheetu had been gone so long he had never gotten to ask these question, now was his only chance.

Tojo looked up at the sky, sighing as his birds mimicked his melancholy with their behavior as well. He'd stayed away from the pride a bit, thinking that maybe some of the emotional turmoil would subside, but he was wrong. Kovu limped about, dejected as ever, Simba was not anywhere to be found, and Mheetu was just confused.
He looked around, the wind picking up. He caught his old friend's scent on the air, and also noted that he smelled something like a pig and...one of those underground dwellers...a meerkat.
He made his way over to his friend, noting the presence of Malka as well. "What's the haps, Simba? Who are these guys? Lunch?" Tojo asked. He'd never met the duo, and that pig especially looked tasty.
Vitani's mind was abuzz with her thoughts. Kopa, Kopa, Kopa...she loved him. She knew she did. And he loved her.
The tawny lioness almost chuckled aloud. This should be easy. It should be him and her, together. But it wasn't to be. He also loved her best friend, the tufty lioness she'd come to love as much as one could love a friend.
Her head lay on her sinewy paws, and her left eye began to twitch. Maybe...maybe she could avoid him, make him realize that he loved her more than Scruffy. Or...
She swallowed. Or let him discover that he didn't need her, that Kopa only wanted Scruffy. At least he'd be happy. But where did that leave her?
She felt like an adolescent again, trapped in a dramatic world of love and secrets. She flipped onto her back and watched the sky, the clouds bright and puffy as they inched their way across.
Yes. That was what she would do. She could act cold, or just avoid Kopa entirely. Avoid the lion with the beautiful chestnut mane, captivating green eyes...
Vitani sighed heavily. This was going to be difficult, wasn't it?

Sarabi carried on her way to where she had seen her friend Sarafina and her son. what this place needs is a good shake upm it looks like everyone just going to accept that Malka can boss whoever he wants around, and when he wants. I need to think of a new plan, somethings thats no so obvious this time, and maybe, just maybe some of those useless hangerons might get involved. The bigger we are, the less chance Malka has of fighting back.

Sarafina thought she had satisfied her sons curiosity and he would just keep silent, but no, he still had more questions for her. Stopping herself before they entered the cave where Malka had stalked off too, she licked her lips and stared into his face.
"I'm sorry son, I don't know why Nala told you to leave, none of us knew where you had gone to, we didn't know if you had just wandered off like your father, or something more drastic had happened to you, we just didn't know, but hoped one day you would return."
Watching his face carefully Sarafina, wasn't sure what registered inside his brain any more, something it seeemd had happened to him on his journeys, she just wasn't sure what. Seeing a tear run down his cheek, she leaned in and licked it away carefully, giving him a nuzzle as well, it had been along time from when she had last done this.
My eyes are blue? "Mom how come there are no other lions with fur as pale as mine?"
"Mheetu, just because you mighten look like myself or Nala, you have the same blood as we do." Giving a small laugh she licked his cheek once more. "You should be thankful you don't look like your sister, she's not that great to look at when she grumpy or just woken up, believe me."
Looking down at him, it seemed he needed more of a response and was waiting. "Mheetu, yes you look different with those blue eyes, but for all I know, that could be from your fathers side. All you have to remember is that it's how you behave and treat others that you will be judged on, not on how you look whether its flattering or you might be covered in scars and missing a paw.. it's whats inside that is the most important thing you can have and how you share that with others, that is what will make you become a good lion."

Kopa stood there watching the expression on Scruffy's face, there was something there he hadn't seen for a long time, did he really see bitterness and maybe hostility, it had come and gone so quickly, he wasn't sure now. Brushing away the thought, he gave her a lazy grin when hearing her reply.
"Race..?",Last one to reach the old gorge? "Or is that too far for ya, M'lord?"
"so it's M'lord now is Scruffy, tsk such formality, when I'm about to show you whose the boss around here. Sure you wouldn't like a head start ?"
Laughing out loud at her, kopa dug in his claws and surged ahead feeling the breeze hit at his face and brush back the fur on his mane.

Mheetu looked at his mother solemly, his ears laid flat on his mane and his back was sloping downward."Mother I cant come back if every where i look theres people thinking im crazy...Sarabi,Rafiki,Simba,Malka,Zazu, I bet even you and Nala have that feeling about me...I know ive been gone for a long time, and im sorry i havent lived up to be the son you hoped i would be...And I wouldnt have survived if it wasnt for a cheetah i met in the desert."

The former assassin laughed when Kopa darted off. Her competitive side kicked in and buried the dark thoughts that she had been pondering since she had left the stone cluster. She laughed as she ran, pushing the ground with her paws and gaining speed very fast. She was very lightly built, and she had been proud of how swift she had become under Zira's training.
If a race was what Kopa wanted, then a race he would get... The fluffy necked grinned widely as she caught up with Kopa, running side by side with him. She clearly enjoyed the race, even if she had been reluctant at first.
"Is this the best ya can do, Yer Slowness?" She laughed and pushed her speed up more so that she was slowly getting ahead of Kopa.
