Sarabi, stood there watching while Vitani rushed to Scruffys side, full of happiness and seeing her again she threw her paws around her, listening to them it was obvious she had thought Scruffy was dead and long gone.

Sarafina, stood patiently beside the tanned lioness, watching in amazement as well, it seemed somewhere along the line Vitani had injured her self badly and wasn't fully recovered as yet, seeing how she stumbled clumsily to her paws and had shaken with her first few steps.

Sarabi heard Scruffys words carry to her on the breeze ' where's Kopa ', Looking sharply around at her friend to see if she had heard the words , she raised her eyebrows questioningly.

Kopa lay there warmed by the sun, opening his eyes slowly, he yawned and stretched, his muscles rippling under his fur.

Pushing himself up and shaking his powerful frame he looked around him .. suppose I had better get back to Vitani and see if she's awake yet and if we can start the search for Scruffy crossed his mind.

As he took a step away, from the indent in the ground where he had laid, the dreams he had came back fresh, guilt raced through him,... how could he think that Scruffy might have made him a better mate than Tani...

Quickening his pace he broke into a run, ashamed of himself. Faster he ran along the river bank, making a sweat break out, not pausing trying to rid himself of thoughts that shouldn;t have been there at all.

[Sarafina]

Sarafina sighed. She then heard something that she didnt really want to hear. she looked at Sarabi.
"Did you hear that?"she said softly.
She really wish she didnt hear that. She looked around and her ears perked u[ trying to figure out where he could be! She looked at her friend and raised and eyebrow.
"What do we do..exactly?"she asked puzzled.

[Tamber]

Vitani thought for a moment. "Hmm...he went off looking for you. He was looking along the river, but I'm not sure if he still is, because he's been gone for a while. I don't remember if he said anything else...I'm not remembering anything very well...I passed out for a while, and I'm still kinda woozy," he said with a grin and a shrug.

[Kirsui]

Scruffy smiled at Vitani when she replied.
"It's all right, Tani..." the fluffy necked lioness said. "I'm sure Kopa will come back here..."
She then glanced back at the direction where she had come from.
"Oh yeh..." she continued. "I ran into Sarabi and Sarafina back there."
She lowered her voice to prevent the older lionesses from hearing.
"I tell ya... they might be old, but they surely are still able to keep up some good speed... For a while, at least."
She chuckled slightly and sat down, looking at Vitani with a wide smile.

While Scruffy moved in closer to talk to Vitani, Sarabi turned to her friend who was looking worried about Kopa being missing.

" we don't do anything my dear, we just sit here under this lovely big tree in the shade and rest, and the sooner the better"

Moving quickly while Scruffys back was turned, Sarabi caught the words they might be old , as she approached.

Grinning to herself, she bent down and secretly placed a pebble in her paw. Aiming at the lioness, she threw it at her head, and as it hit she yelled out .

"Scruffy, watch out..above you" Smiling as she knew what would happen, she watched as the lioness looked up.

Sarabi chose her moment and lept, pouncing on Scruffy, knocking her over and pinning her. Laughing as she looked down at the startled fluffy necked lioness " So you still think I'm OLD do you missy ?"

Meanwhile, back near Pride Rock, Kovu trotted up a tall hill to see his home. As soon as he peaked it, he could see the outstanding structure on the horizon. "Almost there." He smiled. He had returned from a week long walk to clear his mind and to get a few things straight with his self concious. After realizing his nirvana and finding his true self, he decided to run back home to his mate, Kiara.

It was a fast pace run. He wanted to return to his family as soon as possible! Faster he ran, faster and faster and the Rock came closer and closer. Soon, he was so close that he heard Kiara's voice yell his name in epic joy! Finally, he was home!

"Kiara! Kiara!" He shouted. He climbed up the rock and onto the large butte of it. She was standing there at the tip. Her glorious frame stuck out in the savannah sun and her brown eyes sparkled. That sight was what he survived for...

[Sarafina]

Sarafina nodded when she spoke. Sarafina stood and followed her back . She watched as she pounced Scruffy.
"Ouch. Sarabi...give her a break. she didnt know we could still do that. I didnt know we could still do that."
She said laughing a little. She looked at Tani. She smiled at the young lioness. Sarafina looked around for any signs of Kopa. She gave a little sigh. She then smiled and continued to look at Sarabi.

Kopa kept on running, the breeze hitting his face and rushing through his mane making the fur stand up further. The feeling made him loose all sad thoughts and were replaced with hope for finding Scruffy...this day will end with good things...he thought to himself.

Stretching out his limbs he pushed himself forward jumping over a fallen log, his paws got traction in the sandy soil, and he surged on around the corner where he had last seen Vitani lying sheltered under a huge tree.

Gasping with surprise he stopped, looking at the scene before him he slowly moved forwards. He still wasn't sure if he was actually seeing things, there before him was scruffy being pinned by Sarabi, while his mate and Sarafina stood there smiling.

Moving in by Tani he gave her a nuzzle, and looking her in the eye he leaned in closer so only she could hear " I have missed you these last few days, my life hasn't been the same, don't go away aagin and leave me."

Giving Vitani a loving look he stepped back and raised his voice "LADIES" and waited

Scruffy never saw that coming, and before she had time to react she was pinned down by Sarabi. The fluffy necked lioness looked up at the old queen, the shock and surprise clearly visible in her reddish-brown eyes.

Then... she laughed, amused at the position where she had gotten herself into.
"My... Lady..." she said between the laugh, barely able to make words. She had to gasp for air momentarily, before her laugh calmed down so that she could finally speak properly.
"My Lady... The years ya have seen have merely made you wiser... I respect the experience ya have. So no, My Lady..."
She smirked, a playful shine in her eyes.
"...ya are not too old..."

Then, she caught a glimspe of movement from her eyecorner, causing her to tilt her head to see properly. At the same moment, the word "LADIES" could be heard clearly. Her smile widened instantly as she saw Kopa had joined the group.
"Hello there, Your Highnes."
She glanced up at Sarabi, the playfulness still visible in her eyes.
"I would stand up and bow properly, but", she chuckled, "Lady Sarabi is preventing me from doing so..."

Sarabi let out a loud laugh, enjoying her little game with Scruffy, it was good to see her smiling and relaxed again.

"Well I suppose I could step back and let you get up young missy, as long as the word 'Old' doesn't reach my ears again, what do you think ?"

Moving away so the lioness could rise, she stood back by her friend Sarafina, giving her a small nudge and smiling she lowered her voice " well looks like we showed her we can match the young ones any day" ..then she gave another laugh which made her look as young as she was feeling at that moment.

Tani let out a good laugh at Scruffy, who flinched as a pebble flew at her head and indeed took her by surprise. It was a joy to watch the two "old" ladies take little Scruffy downa notch. She had it coming to her,Tani thought to herself with a smile.

Suddenly she felt someone whispering in her ear. Her heart skipped a beat as she realized just whose voice it was. She jerked her head aroundd to see the face of her beloved mate right before her. She listened to what he told her, and in a spontaneous moment of joy, she nuzzled him happily and wrapped an arm around him. "I'll never leave you. I promise," she whispered to him, hoping he would believe her, and that this statement would make him feel better.

Kopa stood there listening to his mates words, making him feel alive again.

Turning his head towards Sarabi and Sarafina "Ladies, this is indeed a surprise, what has bought you two so far away from home, I thought it was only us three out on a little adventure ?"

When the word Adventure left his mouth, his head slowly turned towards Scruffy who was standing there silently. "And now it seems we come to you ! "

Taking a slow step towards her till his face was level with hers, he paused and met her eyes.

" Do you realise how devastated Tani and I were, thinking you had persished over that cliff and into the raging waters ?, and worst of all I have been carrying this guilt inside me these last few days, because I Kopa wasn't strong and brave enough to save you."

Taking one last step so his cheek was touching hers, he lowered his voice " You have a special place in my heart Scruffy and I thought it was broken forever." Giving her cheek a quick rub he stepped away.

"So, Ladies, make yourself comfortable here in the shade, looks like Scruffy has a story to tell us, also how you Sarabi and Sarafina fit into the puzzle as well."

Moving back to Vitani, her gave her another nuzzle and stretching slowly, laid down close beside her.

Kiara, stood up on pride rock, surveying the area. where was Kovu she wondered, surely he still wasn't prowling around somewhere in a huff over their disagreement.

Slowly sitting on her rump, she was about to slide her body down even further and wait a while longer, and in her position she could see all the coming and goings.

Her ears twitched, and leaning her head to one side she listened carefully, there it was again Kiara, Kiara . A smile broke out over her muzzle as she heard the words, he had come back.

Springing up, she took a few paces back and turned quickly to see her beloved standing there with such a loving look on his face. She moved her paws towards him , then stopped. With an answering smile on her face she stood there waiting .. let him come to me, after all he was the one who went off sulking she thought to herself.

[Sarafina]

Sarafina laughed as Sarabi and Scruffy had the little play time. she was very glad that Kopa came gome safe. She wouldnt want to tell Simba that his son was gone. She sighed and listened to everyone. She looked over and looked around. her breathing finally calmed down and fit again. Her heartbeat was normal and wasnt beating 100 times a second. Her tail slowlt swayed behind her. Sarafinas ears perked up as Sarabi whispered to her.
"You sure did Sarabi." she said smiling.
She pushed her friend gently with her paws and laughed along with her. She loked over at Kopa as he spoke about them fitting in the puzzkle. Now that was going to be one funny and odd story.

[Nadira]

Kovu ran up the steps of Pride Rock and faced his mate standing on the ledge. She turned around as the wind blew her tan fur. He ran up to her like there was fire in his feet. He skidded in front of her and smiled happily. "KIARA!" He nuzzled her face rapidly. He was so happy to see her. He hadn't felt this great since the crocodile escape when he first met her. " I was just walking and..." He stopped. She smiled at him. He didn't care about his story and she probably didn't either. Still holding her in a warm lion hug, he asked. "I noticed the other lionnesses arn't here. Vitani hasn't been on my case about leaving. Do you know where my sister is?" A little bit of him didn't care. He was just happy to be home, with his mate.

Sarabi sat down beside her friend, stretching her paws out in front her claws unsheathed then replaced again, she lowered herself down to the ground settling in some shade.

"Well I think we are all ready for you to tell us what happened Scruffy, Sarafina and myself haven't got much to tell really, we were just out walking looking for a little adventure, thought we might stay out for a night or two, then we bumped into or I should say you bumped into us, and here we are.

Grinning she looked at Kopa and Vitani "thats us taken care of, now your turn young lady i think "

All eyes were focused on Scruffy,

Kiara smiled at having Kovu back with her again, she disliked when they argued. Leaning more into her mates embrace she relaxed and enjoyed their closeness.

His words broke through her day dreaming ' Umm Vitani, she and Kopa and Scruffy have gone off on one of their walks, let them be, the three of them are great together and look out for one and another, nothing will happen."

Moving back she looked up into his face," come lets go have some fun, swim or walk, just the two of us for now, what do you think ?"

[Nadira]

Kovu smiled pleasently. He'd rather do something with his mate then anything else in the world. Had she forgotten the fight that they had before he left? He licked her face and saw how brightly she shined. "Do something...fun...together?" He tried to make good use of the word "fun" since it was a word he was still barely familiar with. Ever since before his mother killed herself, she drilled it in his head nothing but hatred and revenge for his father in law. "Like, chase the birds around?" He remembered how fun that was, then his voice started to heighten. "And...and.. when we escaped those crocs when we were kids, or when we teased Nuka about..." He thought about 'Tani. "Nevermind, or the time when mother..." 'Tani. "Or the time when...when..." His ears lowered in shame. There was really nothing "fun" he did with Kiara in a long while. It was mostly 'Tani or Nuka.

"You little termite!"

Nuka's voice perculated his memories. He lowered his ears. Kiara was still waiting. He giggled, snapping himself out of his depression, and pounced on his pretty mate. "TAG! You're it!" He giggled and jumped off of her and ran around the main area of Pride Rock.

Malka strolled around the field to get a quick drink of water. He lifted his head and heard the sound of lionesses laughing in the distance. He lowered his ears as the ladies pounced on each other. "Hmm." He thought proudly of himself. He giggled as he was about to make his move over to them, but then he shot down in the grass as another lion approched them. He hid in the grass, hopeing none of the lions saw him.

Scruffy couldn't help but smile at Sarabi when the older lioness got up from her. Momentarily the former Outlander just laid still on the ground before she rolled from her back to her belly and pushed herself up with her paws. She shook her fur to get rid of all the dust, even though the dust might now have been able to be seen from her already greyish-brown fur.

She streched, taking her time with every movement, smirking slightly as she teased the others by remaining silent, forcing them to wait for her to begin. She leaned backwards, extending the claws on her front paws momentarily before she leaned forward, streching her hind legs. Trying her best to whipe her smirk away, she sat down, her tail swoosing slowly from side to side behind her.

"So..."

Scruffy looked at everyone around her.
"As Tani and Kopa already know, we were hunting" she begun.
"Then I ran into a rhino, and it chased me. I had to lead it away from Tani and Kopa, seeing as how dangerous a rampaging rhino is..."
She looked momentarily at her King and Queen, smiling slightly at both of them before she continued.
"... and so I came to this river, to the place where the final battle took its place before Outlanders returned to live here..."
She took a deep breath.
"Aaaand, then I pounced over the edge."

Scruffy paused again, taking in their exressions.
"The rhino fell into the river, and apparently down the waterfall... I, however, managed to get myself into that cliff from which..."
She paused, suddenly hesitating to continue.
"... from which Zira fell to her death."
The memory of being at the Outlanders' former Den after surviving from the river, seeing that odd lioness... Scruffu had to push these thoughts aside to continue her.. story.
"So, Tani and Kopa came to my aid and tried to get me up from the cliff. It was clear that I couldn't climb up, there just were no places to put my paws into... And so they used a vine."
She shivered.
"It didn't hold. I fell into the river, went all under the raging waters... The flow was strong, and soon enough as I surfaced I knew why... A waterfall... I survived from it, though, only by swimming to the closest shore."
She took a deep breath again.
"And so I found myself lying at some bushes, gasping air, not believing I had just survived from certain death... only to end up to the Outlands."

Scruffy paused again, this time to think how to continue. She didn't want to lift up what she had seen there, that she had been at their former Den... So, she decided to skip this part.
"And so, I made my way back, only to run into ya two, My Ladies."
She pointed at Sarabi and Sarafina.
"And now... Here I am, telling ya all my little story."

She smirked again, apparently quite pleased at how she had explained what had happened to her. But then suddenly her left ear twiched, her Outlander instincts taking control of her movements. She turned her head, narrowing her eyes. She took a deep breath, sniffing the air. No, no unknown scents...

But, she knew someone was there, by the experience under Zira's command. She did nothing, however, just watched and waited.

Tani grinned as she listened to Scruffy's story. The rhino chase seemed so long ago. Just now Vitani remembered when she had nearly fallen to a possible death, as the enormous pile of rocks was collapsing under her. Kopa had saved her life, and thinking of this, she wrapped her paw around him arm and pulled him close, nuzzling her forhead against his shoulder. She lovd him so much. She always had, ever since they were cubs. She looked back on the times her siblings had made fun of her for spending so much time with him, sneaking into the pridelands to be with him. They did the same for him, too. Kopa had always told her how rude Kiara was to him, making fun of him all the time about all sorts of things. The world had never wanted them to be together, but in the end, they were. this was the greatest triumph Vitani could muster.

She lay down next to her mate and snapped back into reality. She grinnd evilly at Scruffy. "Well jeez, Scruff, your story wasn't nearly as interesting as I was anticipating," she teased. "Kopa and I spend hours looking for you," she said in a dramatized tone, "pushing our bodies to the limit, going on dehydrated from the lack of time we took to drink any water. We had no food in our stomaches, no liquid to refresh us, just the determination to save you!" She turned to we Kopa and beamed, then back to Scruffy. "In a daring attempt to race along the river and find you, Scruffy, I lost my last ounce of strength. My legs pounding with pain, my chest heaving incessantly..." Tani stood up and made dramatic gestures with her paws and arms, getting caught up in her story. "I fell...out like a light, fainted! I woke up, Kopa gone, thinking I had failed you. I had failed you, Scruffy!" Tani was getting overexcited and overly dramatic, laughing inside at how rediculous she was being. She stood up and walked over to Scruffy in all her splendor, and grabbed her dear friend by the arms. "I failed you my dear pridesister..." She lowered her voice to a whisper, crunching her face to look devastated. "...failed you..."

After a pause, she lost her control and rolled onto her back laughing at herself. Not one for laughing fits, she recovered herself quickly, and with a simple smile on her face, she glared at Scruffy with that sly look, waiting to see how she would react to this amazing tale.

[Sarafina]

Sarafina szat there and nodded. She laughed a little as Vitani started to rol on the ground. She looked at Sarabi. "We should head back soon." she said softly. "I need to check on Kiara and see how things are goin..." she said softly. She laughed a little and watched the others talk. She really didnt have anything to add.

[Nadira]

Malka sat and listened to thier stories. "Oh I see." He thought. Hmm.. "I'll have to remember to stay strong." He stood up from his hiding spot and the other lions turned and stared at him. He could see some of thier pelts rising and heard a small growling sound emitting from thier throats...

"Hello ladies," he said as he strolled up to them. "My name is Malka." His disposition became saddened. "I was...forcibly driven out of my pride! My family was....murdered and I need a place to stay!" He collasped in front of them. The lionnesses just stood there, staring at him. He turned on his back and placed his paws near his muzzle. "I'm homeless." He purred...

Kopa lay there amused by their different stories they were telling each other. He needed to speak with Scruffy when they were alone, he didn't want her to think that he hadn't tried with all he had to save her. Sighing he knew it would have to wait till later.

From the corner of his eye he saw something brown moving slowly out of the bushes. Kopa let a warning growl emit from his mouth, and started to unsheath his claws. Stretching himself ready to spring into action, he watched as a lion casually strolled over to where they all were.

Kopa had , had enough and jumped to his feet, his growl got louder and he approached the newcomer. Amazement appeared on his face when he introduced himself and then watched as he rolled over acting like a fool. He himself stopped and just forgot what he was going to do, with his mouth hanging slightly open, he stared at lion waiting for someone else to speak.

Sarabi sat there beside her friend listening to Vitani and scruffy retell there stories. With a smile on her muzzle she turned to Sarafina.

"What do you think of Scruffys little tale ?, remember when she came rushing upto us, how she was so agitated, and had that look of fear on her face, there's something just not right here, and we need to find out what it is. Do you really have to go back and check on Kiara, I'm sure she's quite happy with Kovu."

Just as she was about to voice her concerns to Scruffy about 'her adventure', a lion came tumbling out of the bushes and started rolling on the ground in front of them, purring of all things.

Amazement showed on her face as she looked over the newcomer, then the corners of Sarabi's mouth started to turn up into a smile, she couldn't help herself, the situation was just to comical.

Sititng back down on her rump she broke into a full laugh, watching to see what would be his next trick to them all.

[Nadira]

Malka was a little dismayed when the elder lionness started laughing at him. But he couldn't quite place where he had heard that laugh from.

"Ah, my dear elder!" Malka rolled over and walked right passed Kopa without even acknowledging his existance. He walked up to Sarabi and bowed to her. "Perhaps you know of famine and shame." His head turned in shame to demonstrate what he meant. He slowly looked at Sarabi again and took her paw into his own. He kissed it politely and turned around still not acknowledging that Kopa was there. "Ladies, I do not pose a threat. But if your king," He looked at Kopa with pleading eyes "does not want me to stay, then I shall go, and search for another!" He sat with his back facing them. "You may discuss my fate." He looked to the stars. "But ask yourself, what would the late great King Mufasa do?" He smiled and snuck a quick glance at Sarabi and Kopa.

Sarabi watched as he ignored Kopa ooh he is either brave or stupid behaving like this she thought to herself.

Something about him started to puzzle her, and she stopped grinning as he took her paw in his and pressed his lips gently to it.

She gasped and sucked in breath as he spoke about Mufasa. Looking over at Kopa wondering what he was going to do, she quickly looked back at this lion who was so daring with his actions and words.

There was just something about him that kept nagging at her, looking over at Sarafina she raised her eyebrow and pointed with her head at the lion as if to say ..well what about him

[Sarafina]

Sarafina watched thw whole mysterious lion with Sarabi. She had to chuckle a little when he took her paw and kissed it. When he spoke about Mufasa, she looked at Kopa. She looked Sarabi to see what she was going to do. Sarafina swallowed softly an scooted closer to Sarabi.

"Does he seem familiar to you?" she asked softly making sure that the lion didnt hear her. She gave a slight smile to him and then looked at Vitani and Scruffy. She smiled to them and then looked at Sarabi. She shook her head and her eyebrows scrunched. She was just as confused as everyone else, maybe even more so. She sighed a little and looked the lion over. Something about him felt like she knew him. but how was that even possible.

She turned back to Sarabi and leaned in again. "Something about him...seems like i know him!" she stated just as softly as before. Maybe even softer. She stood for a second and cracked her back. She always cracked her back the same way. She always has. It was an odd habbit but something shes been doing for too many years to stop now. She turned her head and cracked her neck to. She then shook off a little and sat back down. She smiled and giggled to herself. She now felt very refreshed.

Scruffy's attention was drawn to Vitani from the mysterious precence when her friend continued with the story telling by her share of the tale. She had to hold back her laugh, and instead placed a huge grin on her muzzle. However, when she was just about to open her mouth for a dramatic reply, she was interrupted.

Her head turned from Vitani to a lion who had appeared out of nowhere, introducing himself as Malka. Scruffy frowned slightly.
'I just knew there was someone!' she though, examining Malka suspiciously.

Scruffy wasn't impressed by the show Malka put up as he explained why he was here, needing a new home... She forced down her frown that was about to grow deeper, and replaced it with a calm expression. The only thing giving her un-impressed mood were her eyes, which closely kept an eye on Malka's every movement.

Her eyes narrowed when the newcomer mentioned Mufasa. That lion had been dead for ages, before Scruffy had even been born! The fluffy necked took a better look at the lion, trying to estimate how old he was. He seemed... well, definitely younger than Sarabi or Sarafina, and yet older than herself, Vitani or Kopa. Malka looked about the same age as Simba and Nala, though...

Scruffy's ears perked up at the whispering voice of Sarafina. She couldn't hear what the older lioness had whispered to Sarabi, but from the glances Sarafina gave, she assumed it had something to do with Malka.

Finally, after being quiet for long enough, Scruffy turned to Kopa, ignoring the newcomer for a while.
"Well, Your Highness?" she asked softly, tilting her head slightly.
"What you say to this ah... Malka?"
Her voice seemed curious, and with the tilting of her head she tried to hide the fact that she didn't trust this new lion. Her other eyebrow was lifted to make the curious expression better...

But her eyes still had that suspicious shine in them.

Tani's laughing and hysteria were interrupted by the sudden appearance of a strange lion. He looked a bit older than her, Scruffy, and Kopa, and he had black hair tufts on the tips of his ears. His fur was a light caramel, and he seemed extremely at one with himself. Vitani was annoyed by this show he put on for them, how he constantly refered to her and the others as "ladies." He was making himself look like a pig, at least in Tani's eyes.

She looked to Scruffy, who was trying to make better of the situation. But she could see in her dear friend's eyes that she was suspicious as well. Only Scruffy was being polite and keeping her composure. Tani felt no need to. This stranger annoyed her, and she sat with a smug look upon her face, wishing he would leave. Yet she had a strong feeling that wouldn't be happening soon, for the two older lionesses seemed quite interesting in him.

Not having any power at the moment, Vitani sat and waited for Sarabi's reply. She was trying not too become to hostile toward's the stranger, but the look upon her facce persisted, so all she could do was to keep her mouth shut for the time being.
