~ Posting for Sarafina ~
Running with tears streaming down her face her mind jumbled up with various emotions, one kept shining through.. Digging her paws in she slowed herself down till she came to a final standstill.
'why do I keep doing this, why do I run away when faced with situations that I don't want to face up to, all I've done now is hurt the one I love the most...Nala. And as for Malka, I didn't give him much of a chance, so what if he still has feelings for Nala, he knows she is with Simba and they love each other dearly... maybe if I prove to him, that I can be there for him as well as my family, he might come to care for me and want to be with me.'
Looking around to make sure no one was actually there listening to her, Sarafina breathed in deeply, steadying herself. ' I have to go back, I can't keep running and first I need to talk with Nala, explain a few things, and maybe I will earn her respect and love again'
Turning the way she had come, Sarafina started off slow, then stretched her muscles letting her limbs get used to the pace she was setting. As she ran her fur caught the suns rays, changing the colour to a deep golden hue, the breeze shimmering over her from head to tail. Her body was set as though she had a mission to accomplish and her head was held high.
Ahead she knew at last was the waterhole. Slowing down her pace she blinked clearing her vision. All she could see was Simba lying there alone. Looking around frantically for her daughter, panic made her heart beat faster. At last she saw her curled up, her body in a position where anyone couldn't but help notice gave the impression of sadness.
Moving in slowly till she was closer, Sarafina stopped. Tears filled her eyes and she licked her muzzle. "Nala my love...please forgive me for hurting you so"

Sarabi looked ahead seeing Kopa still pacing up towards where Malka was. Picking up speed her paws kicked up dust as she drew level with her grandson. " You'd better slow down, I need to have a word with the 'king' before you get there?" On Sarabi went and as she got closer she could see him standing there huh surveying his so called kingdom is he Finally reaching him, she calmed herself down. "Malka we need to have a talk, you aren't going to like it, and I really don't care. You will show me the respect I deserve, as I have done to you since you rejoined us. Just one word Sarafina.... I just saw her run from here with tears streaming down her face. She has had a hard lonely life and for some reason she seems to want to be with you to look after you and comfort you, and yes.. I urged her to take what she wants for once in her life. And what do you do....you ... you throw it back in her face...How dare you hurt my friend.. get down off your throne and go find her, and treat her how she deserves to be, before my paw swipes your rump...." Pausing and panting a little, Sarabi stared him down "And what I just said to you, I would say to any of my children as well, so don't think I'm playing favourites."

Malka smiled at the old queen as she approached, then frowned.
"...get down off your throne and go find her, and treat her how she deserves to be, before my paw swipes your rump."
"That's the respect you think I deserve, is it?" he said. "Treat her how she deserves to be? You know, she ran away when I, her king, suggested that I could use her presence when speaking with Kopa. So what she deserves is far worse than what I care to provide her with. As for what I did to cause it..." He shrugged, blowing out his cheeks; truly baffled. "I have no idea. I'd just said that if she wanted to be with me, then she could; far be it from me to cause her any undeserved misery. Anyway, I've handled girls like this before. Nala used to run away, in fact: if you chase after them once, they keep running away knowing that you'll follow. Then they can do what they want with you. 'Emotional blackmail,' it's called. If there's something she needs to tell me, she needs to understand she can speak to me face to face. But if she runs away, I'll respect her desire for privacy." He leaned closer, smiling softly, sadly, as if he found the topic painful. "That said, any insight you could give me would be appreciated, old queen. "Now, I'm hoping that's not all you've come here for. Anything else I can do for you?"

"That said, any insight you could give me would be appreciated, old queen.
Sarabi, moved a little closer and sat down in front of him. "A little less of the old, thankyou Malka"
"Did you ever think Sarafina ran off, because it was something said about Nala, maybe you showed your preference still ?, you males need to open your ears and close your mouth a bit more and think back over things you might have said, that could hurt someone. Do you really know what Sarafina risked coming to you Malka ?"
"I will leave it here for now, seems Kopa is approaching and I've said what I came to say, maybe you could go for a walk and met sarafina half way, might also show everyone, you aren't using her..
Sarabi gave a small smile, and stood up ready to move away.. "Oh Malka...you said anything else you could do for me...I'll let you know about that another time, I'm sure there might be ...something I could think of."
Laughing now, she turned and walked back the way she had come.

Sarafina looked at Nala with pleasding eyes. She sighed and looked at the ground.
"I deserve the silent treatment.. Fine. Then jusdt listen to me. Im so sorry I have been acting this way. I thought Malka would help me clear up my lonliness. I was wrong. I was wrong to betray you.... Nala...I love you so much..."
Her muzzle went silent. She sniffled and looked away. Maybe this waqs a bad idea. She looked over and saw Sarabi walking away from Malka. She quickly glanced at Malka and then away. She deffinately made the wrong desision to like him.
She looked back at Nala.
"Nala...can you find it in your heart to forgive me..?"
Her voice was a whisper...she really hoped that Nala would take her back. She knew as of right now, she was a horrible mother.

Scruffy stopped walking when she and Vitani reached the border river, sighing faintly and shaking her head before stepping on the fallen tree that acted as a bridge. Really, this was far from amusing. She had thought she could leave the Outlands behind and never return to them once the Exile was over. And yet this was now the third time she entered said lands, fourth time she'd meet with her former queen who they all had thought to be as dead as the elephants were whose bones laid at the Elephant Graveyard.
Glancing at Vitani walking with her, the fluffy necked sighed again. She couldn't imagine how it must have felt like for Vitani to do this. And she decided she'd stay strong in this meeting, for 'Tani's sake. And she just hoped Zira wouldn't be as annoyed - or more so, enraged - as she had been earlier.
"Wait a sec..." Scruffy stopped walking the instant she saw the termite nests. The storm that had raged at the Pride Lands hadn't come here. She could still smell their scents - hers, Vitani's, Kopa's, Sarabi's - there, and there was a faint sign of Zira's as well.
It was too weak.
"She ain't here." The fluffy necked narrowed her eyes, ger gaze darting all over the termite nests in search for... well, anything. "She ain't here, 'Tani. Where could she have wandered off like that?"

(uh, i was given the role of Sarabi now.)
Sarabi scoffed in Malka's direction and then continued padding down Pride Rock.
"Sometimes i don't understand male lions. No emotion at all..." Sarabi said, shaking her head. Smacking her lips, Sarabi realized her thirst and turned her direction toward the watering hole. She stretched her muscles and pounced forward, slowly picking up speed. Sensing that the water hole was near, Sarabi slowed to a walk, her breath coming in gasps at the distance she ran. She bent down and lapped at the water, quenching her needed thirst. She licked her lips and glanced up, noticing Sarafina and Nala.
"Greetings, Sarafina. Nala. Is something the matter?" Sarabi said, knowing what was really wrong.

Nala had paused in the middle of a large exapnsive plain, twittling the soft, green, freshly dampened grass between her toes. Her thoughts were deep, her worries ever-present, and suddenly the center of her present concern appeared before her. I was her mother, who had found her to speak with her. Nala couldn't believe that now, after all that had happened, she was worthy of speaking to her mother again.
"Im so sorry I have been acting this way. I thought Malka would help me clear up my lonliness. I was wrong. I was wrong to betray you.... Nala...I love you so much...
Nala instantly teared up as her mother spoke to her. She realized very quickly that holding back her tears was impossible. Not only had her mother finally found the truth out of her attempt with Malka, but for some reason she loved Nala again. She grasped ot for her mother and hugged her tightly, never wanting to let her go.
"Of course I forgive you," she whispered to her. "I'm just glad you love me." Nala sobbed quietly on her mother's shoulder for several minutes, feeling an old emotion rush over her again. It had been far too long since she had held Sarafina in her arms. She felt like she was a young cub again, leaning on her mother for support and letting her be the guide of her life. She felt horrible for how she had neglected her, and she resolved never to make the same mistake again.
"I never want you to feel lonely, mom. I'm so sorry I let you feel this way. Just tell me if you need anything at all, and I will make it happen. I love you so much."
She heard Sarabi approach them, but she couldn't find the words to say. She acknowledged her by glancing in her direction, but soon looked away, simply wanting to be with her mother. _________________________ Scruffy adn Tani finally arrived on the dry soil of the Outlands, instinctively looking around for Zira. Tani glanced around the barren landscape. Scruffy detected no current signns of Zira being nearby, and Tani had to admit that she didn't, either.
"She ain't here, 'Tani. Where could she have wandered off like that?"
Tani took this question very seriously. If Zira wasn't in the outalands, where would she have gone? If she were in the Pridelands, certainly someone would have seen her enter. The only other option was to travel to some land beyond the Outlands, which seemed like the ends of the earth to the two lionesses.
Unless there were some place inside the Outlands, a more secluded area. "Are there any...hidden, farther reaches of the Outlands that she may be taking cover in? If we are to travel beyond even these borders, we might as well check everywhere first."

Sarabi sighed and turned away back to the watering hole. She understood Nala's longing to alone with her mothr. She respected her wish and lapped at the water. She brought her head up and gave a quick lick to her paw before standing up, stretching her limbs. Sarabi opened her mouth to say her goodbyes to Serafina and Nala, but she didn't want to ruin the moment. "I hope Nala knows that i 'took care' of Malka." Sarabi thought in her mind before padding back into the grasslands. She neared Pride Rock, noticing Malks standing proudly on Pride Rock. She narrowed her eyes at him. "i don't believe this. So full of himself. I wish he would be a real king instead of a selfish one." she thought again. As she passed by Malka to enter her den, she sneered in his direction and pattered inside to curl up with the other lionesses for a nap.

(stop apologising Naily - your posts are fine:) )
Malka watched Sarabi wander off, and return - and sneer at him. Well, Sarafina must be upset then... but other lionesses of the pride had seen her gesture: they looked at Sarabi with puzzlement, then at Malka with a hesitant caution: frightened of him, slightly, but if old Sarabi showed him no respect, how soon until it spread? Especially with Kopa working his way through the grass towards him: he couldn't appear weak now, or ever. "Sarabi!" he said into the mouth of the cave, leaving no question from the tone of his voice that he wanted her to come now, though as usual, he fixed a small smile to his muzzle, just strong enough to make his eyes glitter, and peered about at his subjects. The other lionesses all lowered their gaze.
\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/
"Sarabi!"
Kovu lifted his head when Malka spoke, loud enough for him to hear at his distance. There was a severity in his voice that was rare for the new king to express, and he glanced at Kiara. "Your grandmother," he said, then pointed his nose at pride rock and stood. "You should get over there before something happens. I'll follow... ergh... slowly."

Kopa kept up his pace towards where he saw Malka standing, he had let Sarabi pay him a visit ahead of himself , and now looking at her face and hearing Malka bellow he knew it was an unwise choice.
damn, now shes gone and upset him, what is it about these females, the only one that makes sense half the time is Scruffy, and now she's off on some half brained idea to pay Zira another visit just to keep Kovu and Vitani happy.
Holding his head up high as befitting his title, he moved up to where Malka was standing on pride rock and stood beside him surveying the sights.
"So Malka,...thought it was time we met, seeing we are each ruling half of these lands, I think we need to get a few things sorted out?"

Scruffy's eyebrow furrowed in thought. There was always the place where the meerkat family lived, but she doubted Zira had gone there. It was simply too far fetched. Then there was the desert, but why would any lion go there? The jungle was out of options too as it was behind said desert... And the other areas she could think of where at the Pride Lands.
Then her eyes widened and she slapped her forehead with her paw. "Stupid Scruffs", she muttered before she turned at Vitani. "The Elephant Graveyard." It was a simple statement, and though even mentioning that place sent chills down her spine, it was the next likely option they had after the termite nests. Knowing this made her force the calm expression remain. "I dunno any other place, can't think of anyway. If she ain't there either we gotta come up with something else." Glancing one last time at the termite nests she begun walking towards the place where hyenas had used to live so long ago. Glancing over her shoulder she looked at Vitani with a lifted eyebrow. "Ya comin', 'Tani?"

Sarabi lifted her head from where she had been laying down in the back of the den. She rolled her eyes and hawled herself to her feet. "Apparently the king wants to see me..." She said scowling under her breath. She stretched her old limbs and walked toward the exit of the den, weaving between the lions and lionesses. She walked out and peered around, looking for her king. The echo of how loud he had called her name was still echoing in her ears. Sarabi spotted Malka sitting atop Pride Rock along with Kopa. As much as she didn't want to, she held back another sneer. She walked over to where they stood, her head held high, and eyes dead serious. "You rang, sire?" She said, trying to remain serious and fight back every muscle that told her to rowr or sneer.

Malka glanced at Sarabi, then at Kopa, and smiled at both of them. Sarabi had assumed her formal, regal gaze, which was slightly belittling but entirely respectful. He let a real smile roll over his face. "It appears I'm graced with the presence of two great lions," he said, glancing at both of them. "Well Sarabi, I'm afraid I've called you prematurely, as since Kopa's here I'd best attend to his wishes. Stay for our chat or leave. It's up to you." In a quieter voice he said, "Yes, Kopa: we have much to discuss. First of all, welcome to Pride Rock. I'd offer you some elephant but the hunters haven't returned with any yet. However when they do I'll leave half the carcass to you, as a token of friendship." He stepped aside, motioning that he was walking back towards the den, where not so many people would be able to listen in. "What are you doing living all the way out there, Kopa? You're my equal aren't you? Why aren't you living at Pride Rock with Kovu and Kiara?" His smile faded a bit, and he glanced at whom, he assumed, most people here considered the 'other' king of the pridelands.

Tani watched Scruffy as she helped her ponder the situation. Tani scanned through the different areas until Scurffy finally slapped her face and came up with the best answer Tani could expect to get.
"The Elephant Graveyard."
"Duh!" Tani said with a chuckle. It seemed so obvious now. Even if she couldn't remember any time spent there, certainly the graveyard would give Zira soem innate sense of relaxation. It was the pefect place for her; dark, gloomy, quiet, abandoned...it was a description that seemed to fit both the lioness and the graveyard itself.
Tani trotted along after Scruffy, eager to see if their guess was correct, but not nearly as eager to marvel at the Elephant Graveyard again.

She nodded as solemnly as she could and replied with her serious tone, trying not to let it crack: "I'm going to hunt and try and catch up with the other lionesses. Feel free to call me back when you wish to speak with me." She said bowing her head and trotting down Pride Rock and into the grasslands to locate the other lionesses.

Kiara nodded to her mate. "I'll help you over there, darling." She helped him up slowly, avoiding his injuries, which was quite a trick with all the injuries he seemed to have. She began helping him hobble over to Pride Rock where she saw her brother was talking to Malka. She really hoped he wasn't being hostile. If he thought he could take away any of her brother's power, he had another thing coming.
"If you're going to hunt, arrange a party to hunt elephants. It appears Nala's been neglecting her duty. Preferably a bit one but if not, any will do."
"Elephants?" she said aloud. "He wants to hunt the elephants now?!" She was getting angrier by the minute. She knew why he wanted them hunted. They had always been loyal to her father, and then to Kovu. They would never want to praise another king. She scowled and resisted the urge to march up to him and rip his still beating heart out of his chest.

Sarabi stopped in her tracks and turned around to face Malka, who was now talking to Kopa.
"I'll get right on that, sire." She said, scowling under her breath. "Hunt the elephants?Had he gone crazy now? Just one more thing for him to rule..."
Sarabi dipped her head to Malka and Kopa and turned back around to locate the other lionesses. She began scowling about Malka once she was out of earshot.
"How, oh how could he want me to hunt the elephants? That's just one more way to get killed. All he wants is one more creature to rule over. Start hunting the elephants... What's next? Better yet, what's left?"
Sarabi felt the scent of the other lionesses drift into her nostrils and soon Nala and the others came into view. "Nala, may i have a word with you? I have news from Malka addressing our hunting. He wants us to begin hunting the elephants." Sarabi said, maintaining her serious voice as best as possible. She really hated supporting an idea as crazy as this...

"Now where were we?" Kopa heard Malka say as he turned in his direction again, once Sarabi had moved away.
"You were asking why weren't the rest of us living here at Priderock Malka.. you know it's just one of those things I guess. I know sometimes Vitani and Scruffy are envious of Kiara and Kovu, but at the same time we all come and go as we please. We live in close proximity to each other, we tend to just do our own things, yet are there for each other."
Sitting down beside Malka, Kopa decided to just treat him as one of them, now wasn't the time for acromony and what if's, he had won the fight fairly from kovu, so that was that. If they all wanted to live in peace and as they had been, now was the time to start how it should be carried on.
"I don't know where you have have been or how your life has been spent over the past years, I also don't know what has happened to make you into the lion you are now, but we are all living here together and we need to make it work."
Pausing and looking at the lion, standing beside him not moving nor speaking, kopa pressed on, not knowing what reception he would receive, but he had to be the one to make this work.
"Instead of sending out Nala and the other lionesses to hunt elephant, how about we, you and I that is, go out as well and do a spot of antelope hunting ourselves ?"

"He wants to hunt the elephants now?!"
"Shh!" Kovu said to Kiara, reaching up and grabbing her snout and pulling her back into the grass. "Remember what I said before: if we want to be king and queen again, we need to let Malka make some mistakes. Only if his rule is poor will we have a chance to replace him. This might be the mistake we need." Gently he let go of Kiara's snout... then a thought occured to him. "I've got a plan: go hunting with Sarabi and Nala and the other lionesses, but when you do, tell Sarabi to fake a terrible injury. Imagine: if the whole pride sees that she hurt herself because of Malka's orders... well. It'll be one step closer to a rebellion. "Go on... go find them. I'll be alright... I'm going to listen further." He gave his wife a lick on the cheek and smiled into her eyes, then crouched low in the grass, trying to remain hidden.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
Malka snorted, but grinned at his equal. "I'm afraid I'm not in too much of a condition to do any hunting myself. Not for a few days. However... I'm glad you don't seem as interested in fighting as Kovu was. "But I would like the elephants hunted because they didn't bow to me on the plain yesterday. I'm sure you understand - from what I gather you're leading most of the former outcasts. Imagine if the most powerful of all of them showed you contempt. What would you do? Either kick them out or make an example of one of them." He looked Kopa in the eye. "Besides... why's it such a big deal? You've all hunted elephants before, surely. Do they have some sort of... pass, that exempts them from hunting?" He grinned lopsidedly.

Sarabi padded along side with the other lionesses, letting the scents of whatever prey might drift into her nostrils. She picked up the faint scent of a elephant far off an stopped on her heels. "Elephant, to the east I think. It's rather faint." She said turning to face the direction of the scent. "I can't believe we all have to risk our lives now to hunt elephants just because they didn't bow to Malka. Quite frankly, I myself, have to side with them on this on that one." Sarabi whispered to herself under her breath. She gathered her haunches, ready to spring into a sprint after the scent. "Come on! Quickly! The scent is fading!" Sarabi yelped to the lionesses to hury. She sprang into actions, sprinting across the savannah after the herd of noisy elephants.

Kopa stood there keeping all his emotions well hidden behind a blank look on his face. It seems this Malka was one out to catch any slips ups of the tongue, and use them back against you pretty quickly.
" So, you want the elephants hunted because they didn't bow to you...ok.. well if thats your reasoning, I suppose it had better be done, what you asked of the lionesses. and making an example ofthem, means hunting and killing them, you have a very unusual way about you Malka." "You have your way, which I presume you learnt wherever and however you grew up, and I have my way, pity we can't merge the two,.. but thats why we are different I guess."
Kopa stepped back and away from Malka, then paused "Seeing as you're in no fit state to come hunting, why don't you come on down and mix with your loyal subjects."
Moving away quickly so his smirk couldn't be seen spead across his muzzle, Kopa hurried down and away from the lion, towards where he could see Nala and Sarafina huddled together.

Malka's smile faltered at the tone of scorn his equal had adopted, and was about to open his mouth to depate the point when Kopa continued.
"Seeing as you're in no fit state to come hunting, why don't you come on down and mix with your loyal subjects."
Then he ran off. Was Malka supposed to follow? Kopa was certainly acting strange, forcing Malka's hand like that. There was a whiff of rat on the air... nevertheless Malka followed cautiously, looking over his shoulder once he got to the grass... and who should he see but Kovu and Kiara, side by side, not a few paces away.
There was an awkward moment of silence as he faced off with his former compeditor. "Still lying about, Kovu?" Malka said, his voice echoing from the stones of Pride Rock. He didn't need to say anymore - from the way Kovu's eyes widened in concern, he was still too injured to defend himself. What about yourself, old man? He looked after Kopa, who was heading towards two lionesses... Sarafina and Nala. The rat smell got even stronger. He continued walking towards them, testing his muscles... well. If they wanted to fight him it would cost them dearly. After all he hadn't entirely exhausted himself. The elephant had finished the job. His equal - rival - and two women with whom he shared a very complex relationship. Maybe this wasn't a good idea after all. Maybe, it was a trap.. "Greetings Nala, Sarafina," he said, then smiled at Kopa. "My apologies if I've disturbed you. Kopa is taking me to meet my loyal subjects." He turned to Kopa. "I'm afraid I've already met these two fine ladies... though perhaps as a pair of old royalists one of you could give me a piece of advice: Say, if Simba was still on the throne, and one of his subjects refused to bow to him, to show him any respect - say, they actually displayed their contempt for his rule - what's the protocol for dealing with such a subject?"

"Darn... too late," Kovu said, after Malka had spotted him. He turned to Kiara. "Quick, get over there! Don't let them talk him out of hunting the elephants. It might be our only chance. Hurry!"

"How odd, Malka. Why not just ask me that instead of my family? Or did you think I had left the pride lands?" Simba walked up to where Malka and the others were. "After all, who would know what Simba would do if he was 'still on the throne' better then yours truly? If you need help, your majesty, I'm all ears." He spoke as respectfully as he could, and had to hold back a smile. If Malka asked him for advice in front of the pride, that would definetly not help their opinions that he doesn't know how to run a kindom properly. But it would be hard for him to change his mind so quickly since he had just asked. Simba was postive he had caught Malka in a trap.

Need help. Malka smirked. "Well, what sort of fool king would I be to disregard the advice of the land's former rulers? Especially one so well regarded as yourself, Simba," he inclined his head. "So what would you do? If say, someone in your kingdom showed that they preferred your predecessor - what was his name? Scar? - as ruler instead of yourself?" He looked about at them all, staring at himlike he was some sort of monster, and sighed. "What you did was banish them. They were lions; that seems fitting. If I banish the elephants to beyond the pridelands then it's likely they'll all starve - there isn't the grasses and trees they need to fill their bellies each day, and unlike lions they can't surive on termites and lizards. "So if any of you have any advice for how to better deal with these potential five-ton traitors, rather than hunting them until they show some respect, my ears are open." He inclined his head, keeping his smile from his face to show he was being genuine, then paused a moment to see if anyone else had anything to add.

Kiara turned and sprinted as quickly as she could towards Sarabi and the other lionesses. She felt free as she flew over the tall, yellowed grasses. The grass was just a yellow blur beneath her and she blended with it well as she hurried towards the hunting party. "Sarabi!" she shouted as she neared them.
She finally caught up with her grandmother and ran beside her. "Kovu has a plan!" she uttered to the older lioness excitedly. "You need to fake an injury. Imagine the other pridemembers' reactions when following Malka's order to hunt elephants ends with your getting hurt.... it could incite a rebellion!" She beamed at the thought of her mate's genius plan... or what sounded like a genius plan anyway.

Sarabi heard the quickly suggested plan whispered into her ear. She turned her head to face her grand daughter, her eyes forced to be serious. She nudged Kiara over to the side, away from earshot of Malka and the others. She turned her head back to Kiara, and gave a smile of intruigment. "I like this plan. We must act fast. You and I shall lead the patrol to the elephant herd, we shall 'attempt' to hunt them, and i shall fake an injury, how about... An elephant stomped my shoulder flat?" Sarabi said, giving a smile of amusement, letting her face drop back to her serious tone after a matter of seconds. "Alright. Let's go. We must act fast before it's to late." She said, flexing her old muscles and taking off across the Pridelands after the other lionesses. "Come! We are leaving for the hunt!" Sarabi called out to the lionesses.

( occ .I will be posting as Sarafina for the time being )
Sarafina sat there with her daughter having precious time together, she had apologised for treating her so bad, she had been very ill mannered towards someone she loved so much. But... she still had to tell Nala that she was going to go and look after Malka ,if he would have her after her strange outburst and running off away from him, everyone must think she was loosing it, and badly indeed.
When Malka approached herself and Nala, the lioness didn't know which way to look, she was too afraid to meet his eyes, and she couldn't say anything, she needed to speak with Nala first, to try and explain why she was going to go ahead and stay with Malka.
"If you'll excuse us 'ladies', Nala and myself are just going to wander over by the waterhole, we need to sort some things out." Finally raising her eyes to Malka's she wasn't sure what expression was on her muzzle, she just needed him to give her a chance. "Malka if you are free later I would like to have a chat with you as well.. if thats possible of course."
"Now I think we will leave yourself and Simba to carry on with whatever you were doing." Turning her head Sarafina gave Nala a look as if to hurry her up and get moving, away where they couldn't be overheard.

Kiara nodded. "Genius, gran!" she said happily. She took off quickly after her grandmother, once again feeling the free motion of running. The grass was once again a yellow blur beneath her. The elephant herd wasn't too far ahead now and she slowed a bit. Her grandmother had already begun 'stalking' them...
She crept slowly beside her. "Should the elephants be in on this? You know, to make it look more realistic?" she asked her grandmother quietly. "It would look better to Malka and the other pridemembers if this all looked like it was actually occuring. Imagine: The elephants 'stampeding' and then you getting injured. If you can play it off right, though I'm sure you can, Gran, then this should all look perfect." She grinned.
