The creamy coloured cub panted as she ran through the empty grasslands. She felt releived to be away from her mothers embaressing boasts about her "darling daughter" and the glares of the other cubs as her mother critisised their "common" fur and eye colours. She sighed. Maybe she just was'nt meant for friends. She carried on running ( ooc ) How did I do? sorry I forgot to put this in my first post: TLKGO:RR

(you can edit your post you know but it seems fine, i'll rp against you) leela was running at the same moment not looking where she was going, her big feet padding along when suddenly she collided with another cub and went flying down on her face "owie...ouchy ouchy... " she whimpered laying on the ground wondering what just happened.

Hello, I'm new and wondered if I could join this roleplay to get a bit of practice? Also there aren't many posts yet so I think it would more easy to join than some of the other roleplays. Twinkletoes

( yeah anyone can join in... The more the merrier! Thancks for the tip! )
" Ouch..." Thembara stood up, gingerly at the cub who had just crashed into her. " Sorry about that..." She looked around the sunny pridelands wondering if anyone else was there.

Leela looked up dazed "oh... someone hit me..." she stood back onto her feet and looked at her "I'm Leela, what's your name... I've not seen you around before?"

(I'm joining because I need practice, as well.)
The little male cub Taro woke from his nap, his dark belly facing the warm, comfortable sun. He opened emerald eyes and yawned, his mouth widening considerably.
He streeeetched his body out as far as he could, the tendons in his proportionally large paws quivering with the effort.
He rolled over and flicked a bit of grass off of a chocolate colored ear and brushed claws through his black 'mane', and was about to stand and go for some water when he overheard another cub's slightly squeaky voice.
"...Leela...name? ...not seen... before..."
He only caught snatches of the conversation, but he was curious to hear more, so he walked towards the voices to see who the owners of them were.

Leela while waiting for the other cubs reply heard a noise and twitched her head towards the sound, eyes darting for the source - then she saw it, it was another cub coming towards them... a boy... yes boy cub, she looked hesitantly, she'd had little contact with males, her ears half down as he came on.

Taro saw that the voices belonged to two young girl cubs, and he smiled at them.
"Hey, I think I've seen you guys around before..."
He noticed that one of them was rather twitchy and looked a bit nervous--he stance was stiff and her ears were partially flattened.
"I'm not gonna hurt you or anything, I just wanted to say hi... You guys from around these parts? I think I've seen you before..."

(ooc sorry I have been a bit busy!)
Thembara stood rigid. The sudden appearence of another cub had shocked her enough and she had been a little too stunned to reply her question, but there was now another cub, a male with chocolate brown fur, a black tuft and emerald green eyes, standing before her, bold as brass, as if he usually found cubs in remote places of the pridelands. He did not seem to be a threat but she still copied Leela and flattened herself towards the ground before replying. "I'm Thembara. You probably hav'nt seen me because my darling mother dos'nt want my "beutiful" fur to get dirty."

(Kira, you're doing awesome! I like that you brought up the description of my character. Just remember that his fur is golden with dark muzzle/belly/paws... And don't worry about not posting every day. Not many people do ^^!)
Taro noticed that the creamy colored cub--Thembara, she called herself--sounded quite bitter about the fact that her mother was proud of her beauty.
"You don't like being pretty? I think it's cool... I don't get called pretty very much--well, my mom says my eyes are pretty, but I think that's because they're the same color as my dad's."
Taro looked at the other cub.
"So, what's your name? You've been awfully quiet... are you shy?" Taro teased, waiting for the cub to answer.

Leela still wasn't very sure but at Taro's questions she forcefully tried to look confident saying "Shy? Who's shy? Maybe you're shy and you're trying to mislead us!" she started to build up a little confidence as she spoke "I'm Leela.... whats your name?" and she leaned forward till she was barely a centimetre from his nose.

Taro ducked back a bit and blinked when the other cub put her nose right in his face.
"Uhhh... Taro..."
He cleared his throat. "Nah, I'm not shy... other cubs are often tellin' me to shut up, actually... So, you guys wanna play a game or somethin'?"
Taro looked at the other two cubs, a sudden childish gleam in his eyes.

Thembara looked from Leela to Taro and back again. Leela seemed to be a very dominant cub, while Turo was extreemly friendly. She barley knew him yet he was smiling broadly at her as if he had known her for years. She returned the smile though and replied. "o.k then. Leela?" She looked questiongly at the other female.

Leela was hoping her front appeared confident, she was't feeling it then suddenly Thembara spoke and Leela slightly jumped - she'd been concentrating on the other cub she had't expected anybody to speak and she was momentarily unsure what to say before she looked at her "Erm yeah??"

Thembara nodded then looked back at Taro. "O.k then. What shall we play?"
She didnt want to suggest anthing anything herself as A: She did not want to suggest anything stupid or babyish and
B: She did not want to admit that she hardly knew how to play any games having not had much contact with other cubs. She waited for one of the other cubs to reply.

Leela looked blankly for a moment then she thought for a second - looked about, the surroundings were pretty open, her on one side as she thought, she had used to played catch with her mothers tail... she looked between the two of them and said "what about tag?"

Taro jumped in the air and landed again on all fours, his rump up in the air and wiggling back and forth.
"Yeah! Tag sounds great! Who's 'it'?"

Leela squeeked and followed in Kiras wake crying "bagsey not it!" right after her and running away too, leaving Taro to decide who to go after being the only one left.

Aquiline moved slowly through the yellow grass. The great length of his black body moving smoothly across sweet, rich soil. He felt the pulse of life around him as this ribcage swung to the left and the right in perfect harmony with his compact paws. He raised his head and chuffed the breeze through his system with steady convolutions of his belly and chest. The metallic blue sheen rippled down his muscular sides like water. The pungent aroma of zebra to the east, the faint scent of gazelle to the west. Aquiline flicked his pointed ears and shifted his mane slightly. Crimson eyes with vertical slit pupils scanned to and fro with the throes of cerebration. His life-energy was noisy. He would be detected if he moved faster.
The cat's body went rigid. He strained his neck high. Over the top of the grass he could hear the punctuated mews of lion cubs at play. Concern knotted his brow. What were the little ones doing out alone in the savannah? It was dangerous to leave such young lives out in the open unattended. He scans the horizon for adults.

Taro chased after Leela, seeing as she was closest, and after romping about for a moment, touched her tail with an extended paw.
"Ha! You're it!" He yelled, and he hesitated a moment when he caught the scent of a stranger. It was just a trace of a smell, and after a moment of looking around, he shrugged it off and continued to play.

Leela felt her tail get hit while she ran... bother she thought, what do we have these tails for... and she slowed down Thembara was ahead, Taro was closer and apparently stopped day dreaming or something.
A grin appeared on her face and she let out a low "hehe heh" and she leaped at him at just that moment he suddenly moved off and moments later with a surprised look and little umph sound she landed on her chest and stomach, her surprise being such she forgot to move her legs to land properly.
Leela looked dazed and beweilded, how had he known she was going to jump at that moment, when she came to her senses properly both Taro and Thembara were not near her and she hesitated who to chase.

Thembara ran through the tall grass laughing loudly. She had never had so much fun in her life and had never known how fast she could run. looking behimd her she saw Taro tag Leela and run towards her. "hurry up slowcoach!" She yelled at him. Suddenly He pauused to sniff the air.She stopped too, incase it was important but a moment later he was running again, the now familier light of adventure in his eyes. After a moment, Thembara realised that She could no longer see Leela and skidded to a holt, looking around.

Leela ran in Thembara's direction, spotting her, Leela gave a weak rarrr... and ran at her across the grasslands at full pelt intending to catch her so that she could pass on the 'it' status, she was unaware of any other unknown cats that may be close by.

Aquiline traced the sound pitter patter of little paws across the dry grass. They were not more than three metres away. He had advanced, low to the ground, for a closer look. He glanced at the white sun climbing to the centre of the clear azure sky, the shadows obeying the daily march. Mid morning. Rising slightly from his semi-crouched walk, he craned his long neck over the tops of the grass heads. Holding his sharp ears out to the sides and flattening out the crown of his mane, he peeped cautiously with eyeballs as large as an adult human head.
The cubs gambolled in the clearing with wild abandon. The dark male cub chased a paler female cub with another cream female in tow. Aquiline's firey, deepset eyes followed their movements closely. His cheekbones were lean and made his face look skeletal. His heavy brow ridges, with the expression of wrath written into bone, acted as sun visors. He saw the dark male hesitate. Test the air. Suspicion wavering across the green of his eyes. He was too young to know the fear the potential threat of the Unknown it seemed. He continued with his play.
Aquiline gently leaned back on his muscular haunches, careful not to make a sound, his brawn bunching as he reclined. His shoulders tensed with vague indecision. He should stay. The cubs should not be undefended...but that was part of the old order. The world belonged to lions now and other felids. But Aquiline needed a break from the perils of his world.
He faced the symphony of the cubs at play, sad smile colouring his whisker pads. He was nostaligic for his cubhood; to be young and free from the woes of adulthood. Were freedom and innocence essentially intertwined?
The long grass rustled to his right. Aquiline leaned away slightly. Laughter and cub roars floated towards him. He curled his tail systematically. He was upwind from them. They would've caught his musky scent by now. They were not far from him. If he moved suddenly he would probably frighten them badly. Maybe it was better if he chanced it with being passed by.

OOC: You guys seem confused about what my cub looks like. Here's a pic of him(http://fanart.lionking.org/Artists/Zorayda/Family.png)--he's the older cub.
Taro glanced around. Now he knew something was amiss--he could have sworn that he heard something in the grass--but it could've been the wind, and he thought he smelled a stranger--but the scent wasn't strong.
The other cubs continued to romp around, but Taro stopped what he was doing and perked up his ears.
The golden fur along his back raised slightly, and coils of fear rolled in his dark-furred belly.
"Guys," he said in a loud whisper. "I don't think we're alone..."

Thembara immediatly stopped what she was doing at Taro's words. Her eyes widend with fear as she approached Taro. " Safety in numbers." She whispered. Sniffing the air, she caught a pugent, unknown scent. Whimpering in fear, she slowly walked closer to Taro. (occ: sorry about mixing up the character colours Zorayda :/ by the way I looked at the picture. Very cute! )

OOC: It's no problem, it happens a lot. And thank you! ^^
IC: Taro put his chocolate-colored paw on Thembara's, setting his face into what he thought to be a brave expression.
"It's okay, I'm sure they probably mean no harm," he whispered reassuringly, though he did not believe his own words.
He turned his head in the direction the scent was coming from.
"Hey, uh, whoever you are, quit sneakin' around and come out already!"
There was a quiet rustle in the grass, and Taro stood in front of the other two cubs semi-protectively, though he felt that he himself was trembling worse than Thembara.

As Taro put his paw on hers, Thembara felt comforted. She gave him a look of gratitude and also tried to look much braver than she felt. She only hoped that Taro was right and that this stranger, who seemed to be alot bigger than her by the sound of it, meant no harm.
