Nia looked out of the long grass. 'Just a little closer...' she thought, slowly moving forward. Her first hunt and she was close to getting the best catch of the day. Then...CRACK. She looked down. "Dumb twig!" She growled, before chasing after the herd of antelope. She knew she couldn't catch then now. She turned round and started to head back. She would try tomorrow. She felt a storm coming on as she weaved through the grass, but something else, as well. Something was going to happen, but she didn't know what...
((OOC: Someone do something! -sigh-))

Safila lay there under a bush letting the overhanging branches cool her down from the mid afternoons strong sunrays trying to scorch her golden fur. Raising her head slightly off the hard dusty soil, she watched with amusement as a young cub tried to make a kill. haha silly thing, forgot to look where she put her paws first, oh well, she'll learn when her tummy starts to growl even louder.
With her muzzle wide open Safila gave a yawn large enough that it pulled at the skin on her lips, then slowly lowered her head back down to rest on her front paws, pretending she was sleeping , but her ears twitching at any foreign sounds that might be approaching.

Shaz heard the crack, and heard the distant thunder of antellope hooves. 'Great. So someone's scared away my prey, again,' he thought, but perhaps all was not lost. There was still whatever had made that sound... maybe a meerkat, or a warthog. He heard it moving his way and moved to intercept, leaping at the last moment with his teeth bared, only to see the startled eyes of a predator like himself. Nevertheless he couldn't stop himself but twisted his legs to keep himself from colliding with the lioness. Then he reared up, looming above her. "Who are you? And WHAT are you doing in my pridelands?" he said, more startled than angry, but still a little of each.

Nia looked over. The wind rustled in the grass behind her. She looked over and spotted a stranger lioness. With nothing else to do, she went over. "Hello! My name's Nia. Who are you? I'm really bored, but I don't know what to do. What are you doing? Why aren't you hunting?" she gabbled, quite annoyingly.
