Akane's red fur shone as the sun peeked over the horizon to the side of her, and the young adolescent lioness stopped to admire the view. She was exhausted. But the watching of the rising sun always gave her new energy. It was a new day. Another day of walking, more walking, hunting, maybe a quick stop at any puddles she could find, then a short nap, then even more walking. That was the life she had lived for the past few years. Looking away and shaking the sun-glare effect from her vision, Akane walked on. She let her mind wander as she aways did, remembering the day she had crept out in the dead of night to escape the rouges that had taken her in. Her original pride were dead, as far as she knew. And yet here she was always on the lookout for a new pride to accept her. For friends. For love... She walked on, stopping on a high hill to observe her surroundings. She could see a river, and lots of green grass and trees growing well. At last, a place that looked healthy. She listened to the birds as they flew overhead, and breathed in deeply, inhaling the fresh smells of plants and vegetation, prey... And was that the scent of other lions...? Her hopes rising, she headed down the hill and towards the river, bending down to drink her fill while keeping her ears pricked for either danger or breakfast.

((I'll join too ^^. Also, great first RP post, but it's not necessary to hit "enter" for every sentence. Try to group ideas together in separate paragraphs. That's the only thing I see that could be improved upon, honestly.))
Taro walked slowly, his left flank aching from the strain he'd acquired on his last hunt. A zebra foal had been far too frisky and had made the gold lion stretch way too far for his left leg's capacity, and the tendon had torn.
He shook his black mane, the sun's new rays glinting off of them. He blinked his green eyes and put his nose in the air, catching scents on the wind. He smelled...a lioness...?
Hoping that he was correct, Taro grimaced, his chocolate muzzle lifting over white teeth, and he used the roof of his mouth to amplify the smell. Sure enough...it WAS another lion, definitely female. The scent was coming from over by the river.
Taro ran in that direction, using three legs instead of four to avoid further injury to his back flank. He slowed down a bit before reaching the lioness... she was bent and drinking from the river, alert. It would be a split second before she noticed him standing there...

((Sorry, me wanting to be a writer, I hit enter as I think it's a different paragraph, like different periods of time, even if it's just a few seconds or minutes. But I understand. Let's see if this is better. =3)) Akane looked up as the gold lion approached, licking the stray droplets of water from her muzzle where she could reach them. Her ears were pointed at him, nothing else was her point of focus at this moment. She sat up, briefly licking her paw and wiping her ear in an attempt to look more presentable. She looked over him as she did, taking in the gold fur, black mane, chocolate muzzle and green eyes. This was the first time she had seen a lion in days. Finishing, she looked to his face and tried a friendly smile.
"Hello. May I help you?"
Of course, she was wary. But there was hope this lion wouldn't attack her, he didn't seem the type. She noticed how tense she was and forced herself to relax. Yet if she needed to, she was ready to attack.

((That's a bit better. It's a little more comprehensible that way--people's brains tend to be lazy and not want to break things down into hunks like that, so we must do it for them, LOL :3))
Upon inspection, this lioness was brightly colored, with dark paws that alternated between colored toes and a half of a colored leg, and bright orange eyes that seemed wary. Taro sat back on his haunches, wincing slightly as his flank muscle twinged.
"I was just curious to see another lion--er, a lioness, that's all." Taro turned his left ear back in a small sign of wariness of this new lioness. "I haven't seen another around in quite awhile."
Then she smiled, and Taro's muscles relaxed the tiniest bit. "My name is Taro," he said politely. "I was an extra male of another pride, and I'm looking to start my own." He finished matter-of-factly. "Also," he continued. "I haven't had any luck hunting by myself...that is, to say, if you are interested in hunting together. Two heads are usually better than one."
He licked his paw, getting the ant that had gotten between two of his chocolate colored toes, and waited for the flaming red lioness's answer.

((Wow, lol.))
Akane listened to this gold lion in interest, and at the thought of hunting, she felt her stomach grumble slightly.
"That's alright. I'm Akane. It's nice to meet you."
She stood up, shaking a couple of ants of her own paws before rapidly making her way through the river. She shook herself off as she reached Taro. Noticing his pain from whatever injury he may have sustained, she remembered his offer.
"Well, I haven't had anything to eat since yesturday so... I'll be glad to get some food. And to help you."
She smiled, looking around.
"Where's the best place to hunt around here?"
