Aleila buried her face deep into Xorens mane her mouth splayed in a large smile. As he pulled away from the embrace she nodded in agreement and walked behind him, her walk tall and proud, that is before the strange things encased him and Aleila was filled with panic and she screamed his name "XOREN???!!!" however she then felt something scream at her from the blinding light and felt a cold sweat pass over her body. Aleula didn't say anything else, just stood there frozen, her eye large as she then became overly aware of her white eye burning behind her fringe as she gave out a small growl, warning whatever was out there if there was anything at all. Her back legs shook but she held her head still and breathed deeply as she tried to control herself.

Somewhat frightened by this immediate shift in attitude, Xoren quickly rushed to Aleila's side. As she screamed her name and growled loudly, his closed eyes saw nothing in the surrounding forest other than the endless miles of trees and plant life. "Aleila!" Xoren sternly shouted, "Aleila, snap out of it! There isn't anything there!" He moved his eyes between hers and the emptiness she stared at, his breath now matching hers. "Look at me," Xoren whispered to the frantic lioness, "just focus on me."

Aleila only heard muffled sounds, just able to hear her name as images started infesting her head, filling her with pain and anger. She felt his fur, his breath, his concern, but didn't pay much attention to him, just looked up her eye cold, her teeth gritted as she whispered "Xoren.... St-Stay away" he began shaking faster as she desperately tried to drive away the endless bad memories, but soon they forced her eyes shut and she knew when she opened them she would not be Aleila.

Xoren had seen Aleila act this way before. His memories returned to the blood-stained grass of the oasis, the crimson-tained ground that was brought upon by whatever Aleila housed within her. Watching in horror as her eyes pressed closed, he knew that whatever it was would soon be seeking his own blood. Desperately wishing he wasn't forced to, Xoren took a few reluctant steps backwards, his eyes glued on the transformation that was occurring.

Aleilas calm frame of mind was forced to succumb to the over powering, dark demon within her. Her eyes snapped open and they were white, her fringe flew back past her face and her face was hard and blunt as she took a few shaky steps towards Xoren as her inner battle began to occur. Her darker self took control as her strides became strong and she began to circle him, her eyes burning with wild fire and fear at the same time. Her claws scrapped along the ground, her teeth glinting in the sunlight. Her hunter instincts took hold as she saw his stance and her lips spread in a wide, hungry grin as she circled her pray.

Remaining calm, Xoren watched the predatory movement of Aleila, or rather whatever this being was. He closed his eyes, seeing the same overtaken aura he had witnessed during the previous possession. Lifting his eyelids, Xoren was aware that he would not be able to run without fighting, and he wouldn't be able to fight without hurting the body that Aleila inhabited. He had only one choice; he had to stand his ground and defend himself from the blood-thirsty enemy that circled him. Clearing his mind, he became as calm as he could and watched the motions of her sharp teeth which were bared and blinding in the reflected sunlight.

Aleila's circle continued to decrease in size as she got closer and closer to Xoren's frame. Her white eyes bore into his as she slowed to a halt, the muscles in her body tense and prominent. She licked her lips, her eyes un moving before she yelled out a small "Sorry" which sounded and looked like it came from another being; Aleila remained unchanging, her eyes and stature stationary. That is until she suddenly swept forwards towards Xoren's face, her teeth bared in a snarl, her frame supported by her back two legs.

Quickly interpreting the creature's purposeful movements, Xoren managed to barely shift just from her trajectory and the teeth that reached for him. The intensity of the lunge told him that wherever Aleila was, she wasn't in control. "Aleila!" he shouted, remaining in constant movement and focus, "I know you're in there somewhere! You don't want to do this! Fight back!"

(OOC: Hahaha almost 100 posts!! :3)
Aleila giggled darkly, well whatever it was controlling her frame did. "Oh, but i do, so very badly. I want to see the last ounce of life drain from your body. " She said with a sharp, malicious edge to it, however the true Aleila managed to slow the showing form of her and so she began circling Xoren once more. Every movement she made was precise and elegant as her limbs carried her in circles around her target. Somewhere deep within however she didn't want to hurt Xoren, let alone permanently injure him. She knew this would be when she had to end this madness and demon until.. Ever.

(100th post =D)
Xoren froze, taken off guard by the macabre shift in tone. He was not so scared for his own well-being, but rather the mere existence of his friend. He looked into the empty eyes of the demon that circled him, that which was thirsty for his blood, and turned his paws so he was ready to flee. Tensing up, he waited for the opportune moment to dash into the forest, his own eyes becoming blurred from the few somber tear drops called forth by his concern for Aleila. "If you want it so bad," he bluffly taunted, "then come and get it."

Aleila watched as Xoren made slight changes to his stature and her smile widened as her eyes narrowed. She saw the tears leak from his eyes and she whispered harshly into his ear "Oh, but i already have it." Her claws dug into his own paws and she smiled, but tears fell down her face and she giggled, but stopped half way though and it became a sob. Her claws released and she moved her green paws away from Xoren's her face confused and scared. She looked to the floor, but didn't completely return to her true self, but before she snapped back she ran as far as time would allow.

"Aleila!" Xoren bellowed, his legs bounding in the direction she ran, "Aleila wait!" He was aware that she still did not have full control over the creature from the intent manner in which she ran, but he would not be able to live with himself if he let her leave. Xoren looked again to her aura, observing that the yellow and red continued to fight mercilessly for dominance, neither one having the advantage. Keeping a close, yet safe distance, Xoren tailed the racing feline through the forest, hopping over roots and ducking under vines all while his gaze did not folly from her.

Aleila was all too aware of Xoren sticking close by as tears streamed from her face, her eyes stinging with pure agony as it turned even more white as the demon fought on. She was barely aware of her surroundings, her instincts making sure she didn't crash. She heard Xoren calling after her but simply called back "Xoren I'll hurt you.." she half cried. She shook her head, bounding faster, her fur moving up and down with her movements. Aleila felt his gaze in the back of her as if it were a laser cutting through her purple fur.
Aleila came to a brisk half and spun on her heals, her paw outstretched, her claws unsheathed as her maleficent smile curled around her lips and her eyes hardened. She whispered "I'm not Aleila" She waited for the warm liquid to trickle from the lions body, down her paw. Aleila did one last ginormous push, exiling the demon from her body, putting down her paw, but she wasn't sure if it was too late.

Despite Aleila's cry for him to stop, Xoren could not prevent himself from continuing the pursuit of his friend. With his mane now quickly fluttering behind him, he could feel soft taps of water against his face, with no obvious origin. It was as he closed in upon the cat that she quickly turned and exposed her razor-sharp claws from her extended front leg. Skidding to a stop, Xoren lost his breath to the lurid expression on the demon's face, and the vitriolic words that left her lips.
After a short pause, Xoren watched as Aleila fought from within, hoping to exorcise the demon that inhabited her body, and slam her paw to the leafy floor. It was then that he saw the blood, his blood, splattered on the once-green fur of Aleila's now retracted paw. He immidiatly felt the sting of the gash upon his shoulder and the wet, hot fluid that slowly dripped from the opening as he knelt to the ground, wincing in pain.

Aleila felt the blood flow down her paw and as she placed it on the leafy ground the dry leaves stuck to her now died red green fur. She watched, helpless as he collapsed to the ground, her eyes wide and her body motionless. Her frame was held captive by the two opposing forces, her true self struggling to keep her body still to prevent further accident. Within her frozen features Aleila was collapsing with mental and emotional stress and the demon prevailed, but her body remained still, only her face displayed movement as it twisted into several different shapes and expressions.
Aleila wished she could move, but wishing was all she could do as she remained sitting there, Xoren sprawled at her feet. Blood was falling from his neck and she couldn't hold her self back any longer, she threw herself foreword and started applying pressure to his wound, her face twisting between the two states of mind.

Xoren felt the strong tender pressure against his injury, looking up to the convulsing face that the paw belonged to. He knew that the bleeding would stop with not much difficulty, but he believed that Aleila would not. Using this to his advantage, he peered into her eyes, his own half closed as if fading away. "Aleila..." he spoke frailly,"you need to take control..." Stopping his sentence as if unable to complete the thought, he simply looked down to the dripping blood with fabricated anguish on his face.

Aleila watched, pain spreading through her face, tears falling rapidly down her face, falling onto the dry leaves, her eyes burning. Something deep within her noticed Xorens aura not being one of total pain, but that part was under war, under deep pain itself. Aleilas eyes became pure white and began glowing lightly as Aleila pulled her stained paws away from Xorens neck and through her hair, spreading the blood deep into her fringe. Aleila watches as the deep blood seeps from Xorens neck and she just sits by, felling as if there was nothing she could do to save Xorens life. Her face was distraught and distressed as she tried to think of something to say, her sadder emotions becoming much more powerful then the dark demon who was temporarily kept at bay.

This isn't working... Xoren thought to himself as Aleila removed her paw.,I need to act, and I need to act now. As Aleila leaned backwards, he forced himself to tackle the lioness, using her fallen body as a spring to leap away and hurriedly sprint in the same direction. His mind raced as he flew through the air, all the possible courses of action plotting out in front of him before his paws even touched the ground. In the forest just to his right, his brain found him exactly what he needed.
The tree that stood there was one of soft bark: easy to climb. Not only would it act as a reasonably method of hiding and escape for now, but the leaves atop the canopy could be used as makeshift clotting agents for open wounds. As he landed upon the moss of the forest floor, Xoren raced to the tree, painfully forcing himself not to look back to Aleila.

As Aleila felt herself fall backwards she lost herself before hitting the grounds, clawing at the scrambling body infront of her as Xoren ran to his escape. Her eyes burned with the flame of pure evil, the blood across her body had dried and was splattered across her body, her mane kept back with blood sweat and tears. She was amazed by the lions speed as she raced behind him, snapping at his rear as she chased down her prey. As Xoren changed direction Aleila was unable to do the same; she skidded and covered herself in wet mud, temporarily blinding herself further. She scrambled in the dirt, trying to wipe the mud from her eyes, but was too eager to find her prey and so left her eyes with clouded vision, relying on her scent to guide her.
She finally arrived at the foot of the tree, able to smell Xoren, unable to see much of anything. She staggered foreword, pain crashing through her head as it smashes against the soft bark. Aleila collapses, her mind exhausted as she claws at her eyes and head, trying desperately to banish the pain and demon from her mind forever. She spins around and drags her claws effortlessly through the bark, her eyes scrunched tightly shut. She let's out a few roars before collapsing upon the floor in a pile of tears.

Xoren climbed the tree frenetically, aware that the demon had quickly recovered from the fall. Once he reached a reasonable perch, he took no time to start collecting the necessary plant sections to help heal his re-agitated wound. Beneath him he heard a body skid along the mud and continue to fumble around until it roared audaciously and collapsed. By the end of it all, he had applied the mixture to his wound which was already beginning to stop bleeding.
From his perch atop the tall tree, Xoren peered over the edge as to not alert his attacker to his whereabouts. What he saw at the base of the tree though caused his heart to skip a beat. Aleila's name attempted to escape his mouth, but his logical self forced his vocal chords to remain silent, leaving nothing but an empty release of air to escape his clenched teeth.

Aleilas mind sunk deep into the blackness dwelling in the depths of her heart, her hoarse voice screaming for it to stop as she began to rock back and forth, her tears never ending, her screams cutting through the cold air. She had gone to a place where she was nothing, just a being unwanting to be alive. Her frame was hunched over, her ears glued back against her skull as her sobs echoed around her frail and now deserted mind. She rubbed at her eyes, but the pain was too great and so stopped all most instantly. Instead she stimply calmed her outcryes to sharp bursts of breathing and softer wimperes.
Aleila had become unaware of everything and one but the perpetual death that faced her; in her mind she was surrounded by black, just waiting for the day that death takes her. The soft bark against her back melted away and the leaves beneath her feet was a smooth black surface, she was trapped, alone, in pain, longing for the end. She began flickering between the two minds as they trickled back into life and they began shouting at eachother, Aleila simply a mess anger to the other mind.

Xoren observed in painful horror as Aleila squirmed and shouted on the forest floor, her aura distressed and loosing it's binding to her body. While all his brain told him not to intervene and that his survival came first, Xoren could not bring himself to believe in what his own mind was telling him to do. "Aleila!" He cried, the cascading tears falling into his screaming mouth. Using his claws as brakes, Xoren slid down the soft trunk of the tree, swiftly approaching the ground that his friend was sprawled across.
Once he had reached the feline, he immediately rushed to her side, his tears now leaving damp spots across her purple mane. "Aleila," he spoke with the only raspy voice he could muster, "Aleila don't do this!" It was as if she no longer belonged to reality, like she had fallen into some other dimension, completely skewed from her home. Despite the intense speed Xoren's mind was creating plans, he felt as if he knew nothing; he was utterly unable to help her. Defeated, he did nothing but lie his head against her cold back, weeping and begging for it all to stop as his eyes clenched shut and his tail fell between his legs.

Aleila heard her name being whispered, as if from far, far away, not from here, not from now. Her face remained the same as she heard Xoren slipping down the tree. His tears turned into rain and it surrounds her, it falling forever into the black, his voice just another part of the tourture. She felt his heavy head as it true lay was and she collapsed back to life, her true surroundings slowly being painted back in, she felt his friendship lighten her heart and she leant her head back against his her sobs still coming, she was in control, but felt as if she was empty, lifeless. She closed her eyes, synchronising their breathing as she calmed her mind and thumping heart.
Slowly her breathing was deep and regular, her frame un identifiable, beaten and thin. Her eyes returned to their mismatched form, her fringe still plastered back with blood, sweat and tears. She whispered after the long silence "Xoren...I told you to leave..." Her face was solum as she remembered his warm blood running down her paw, the millions of thoughts and fear following it, fear of herself.

Upon hearing the soft spoken words of Aleila escape what he thought was no longer her, Xoren's eyes snapped open in shock. Moving his head back to meet her own eyes, he smiled and continued to allow salty tears to fall from his eyes. "Aleila!" he said with his voice full of joy, "I thought I had lost you!" He once again allowed his head to lay upon her, but this time it his paws found their way onto her as well. He held her tightly, wishing never to allow his friend to fall into that dark place ever again.
Coming back to his senses, he removed himself from the embrace, scanning over Aleila with a sharp eye. "Are you hurt?" Xoren asked her, his eyes shifting up and down the still limp lioness.

Aleila felt his cool tears fall upon her back and she lets out a sigh "I am still, here. Still just me." her face was lighter, but thin and dehydrated. She felt his paws surround her, creating some what of a circle of hope around her battered body. She wished that she would never have to enter that place again, but also knew that Xorens death would haunt her nightmares for as long as he was a part of her life. She wished it didn't have to be this way, that she didn't have to eject Xoren from her life, but that was a distant part of her mind, not a major part of her thought train. She let Xorens warmth fill her and lighten her heart.
She smiled faintly and distantly, whispering "The only thing that hurts is my brain, but that is not that unusual..." that was the truth but not all of it, during her pursuit she had multiple shallow scraps along her paws and legs, but they had not bled excessively, and so was not that noticeable. She was weak, but that could be amended with care and sleep.

Xoren looked to the lioness and did not see any obvious injuries, but could tell she was exhausted from the experience. While he was worried for her general well-being, he was also aware that the noise may have attracted those wishing to take advantage of the situation. "Can you still move?" He asked, scanning for any familiar landmarks or symbols.

Aleila groaned in reply and shakily got to her feet, leaning into Xoren for support. "Wh-What is it??" she asks her eyes wide, taking in his quite vacant expression. Her frame is quivering slightly and her cuts sting slightly, but she trusted Xoren's instincts and knew that he would help her unless it was serious

Xoren had a difficult time attempting to find the words to describe his helpless feeling when he noticed none of his markings were anywhere in sight. "I'm... I'm not sure where we are..." he turned to Aleila, showing her a fake reassuring smile "but we will find our way!" He began to move, his ears perked up and his feet light, attempting to make the smallest amount of noise possible with the other feline perched against him. Still wary of the enemy that may be lurking nearby, he closed his eyes to see if anyone was there, but saw nothing other than the strange aura of the trees.

Aleila could sense Xorens unsurity, seeing his aura and ignoring the fake reassuring look he was giving her and sighed, softly saying "I know we are lost... But... We have eachother, and when I am by your side I know I belong and that we will be safe." Aleilas heart was fluttering, unsure as to what Xoren was to her; a friend? A brother? A secret longing, longing for his love? Aleila did not know and so she left it at friend and took deep breaths, stretching out her painfully sore body. However when she had finished she gave Xoren a genuine smile, attempting to make him less frantic.
Aleila combed her dry fringe down with a bloody paw, trying to return to her true appearance, but the was only so much she could do without water. She had combed down most of her fringe, but there were still a few parts of purple hair sticking up in the air. She sat back down with a thump, looking up at Xoren attentively her ears flickering around the almost silent glade.

Xoren slowed his breathing, calmed by Aleila's smile and the simple fact that she was alright. He too sat, watching Aleila attempt to clean herself from the bout. Xoren looked to his own wound; it was bleeding, but the herbal remedy kept it to a slow drip and had already began to clot the stagnant blood.
"Once we are rested," Xoren said in a soft tone, "we should try to find some water." He stood up after a few moments, his tail swaying back and forth in a fluid motion.
