"CLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!" A long, playfull exaggerated whine came out, so loud, that birds flied away. Zeb smiled and started laughing so hard, he couldn't keep on his feet.
Rhaegar stood confidently upon a large rock he had found, looking over the lands before him, his violet eyes glinting in the sun. His silver mane blew gently in the breeze, and his gold coat bristled. He was a young rogue lion, looking for something, anything to do. His arrogance had never brought him any misfortune so Rhaegar had never once thought to supress that trait. He was a proud lion above all else, and it was true he had some skill of fighting, but he thought of himself as a God, infact he saw himself as a gift to all civilisation. And in no way was Rhaegar ashamed or ready to change his ways. He had lived in the Outlands for a while now, along with his brother and sister, Kijani and Viserion. Though in his own mind, he saw himself as a fit lion to rule the Outlands.
Eventually bored with the lack of change in scenery, Rhaegar jumped from the Rock and began to wander. With thoughts of himself, he mindlessly padded over the plains. Over in the far distance, he saw a herd of antelope and for a second considered hunting, but then decided against it. He was reasonably well fed and had no need of a meal just yet, besides all that running would have made him tired. He did however, have a mind for picking at a patch of trouble. If there was ever anything that would get the young Lion the attention and fun he deserved, it would be pushing everyone's buttons. He was still a young lion and could afford such a habit, so long as he maintained the upper hand in wit and charm of the lions he annoyed.
Sure enough, the startled birds had warned Rhaegar of the presence of other creatures present nearby. He thought he heard lions, but that might've just been his imagination craving company. Whether it was a fellow lion or not, Rhaegar was far too bored to leave it alone and so followed his curious nature to the source of the noise. He carried himself with an air of superiority as he approached.
Rhaegar spotted the two lions, not far away from where he stood. A smile spread onto his face, he was uncertain as to who they were, he couldn't tell from such a distance. He slowly glided towards them, at the lioness' call. He carried his head high, his full silver mane elegantly flowing in the breeze and his gold pelt shining in the sun. He took long hours grooming himself, he had always thought that a lion of his stature should make a good first impression, and appearance was always the first impression that you received.
"That depends on who's asking" Rhaegar said, his voice was deep and husky. He approached the others, using his posture to signify his importance, or at least how important he thought he was.
"You seem a little wound up" Rhaegar said a small smirk played on his lips, taking in the lioness' posture and her manner of addressing him. She didn't seem all too friendly and nor did she seem very keen on him. He padded lazily around the two, taking in size, strength and power. After his conclusion if it came to a physical fight, he would lose. However, Rhaegar adored his own mind too much to doubt it and so sutomatically presumed he could outwit them. His shoulders slumped slightly and his sleek body took on a casual composure. "Well, since you're so keen to know me, I'm Rhaegar. And I don't have any business here in particular, why do you two? Perhaps I ought to leave?" He suggested, the two lions did seem awfully close, and that would explain the lioness' behaviour. He gave the couple a suggestive look, and the smirk grew even wider.
"I know you don't." Rhaegar commented on her point his voice calm and there was almost a bored tone to it. She wasn't the most exciting lioness he had met anyway, though he noticed the growl after he gave her those looks. He could always play on that later. On the topic of being told what to do , Rhaegar rarely did as he was bid, and certainly no one had any choice in what he ought to do and say. "Though on the topic of land, I think your friend might want to disagree with that. Free Land is nothing more than a myth." Rhaegar said casually, indicating to the male lion accompanying her. Free land was something very rare to stumble upon, and would be claimed quickly, whether it be for hunting purposes or wanting to show other prides power and dominance, all land would be claimed by a pride. All land belonged to someone, be it official or not so, there was at least someone who would claim it is their's.
Rhaegar let loose a very small growl, showing that he wouldn't be messed with in such a manner. If there was one thing that was worth caring for, it was your honour. His fur started to stand on end, and he bared his teeth at the lioness, sending a warning. His pupils dilated as he prepared himself for anything that may ensue, his heart rate quickened and his muscles began to tense.
Though before the young lion could do anything reckless or stupid, a very familiar lioness padded up behind him. Her tail was a similar silvery colour as that of Rhaegar's mane, and her coat only a few shades lighter. Her eyes the same rare violet colour. She had a sleek figure, not built for sudden spurts of energy, but for endurance in harsh conditions.
Kijani stepped in front of Rhaegar and the lioness, her tail brushing itself against Rhaegar's side as she did so. She took a quick look at the two lions before her, before she lowered her head showing that she meant no harm.
"You must excuse my brother" She said in a polite voice "We do not usually meet new lions and lionesses, I'm Kijani" The lioness introduced herself, to which Rhaegar let a small growl for her interference but she ignored it and kept herself more focused on the other two.
Unlike Rhaegar, Kijani was a lot quieter and less hot-headed and self-absorbed than her brother, as was their youngest sibling Viserion. She smiled politely at Clarissa and Zebulan. She studied them once more, both powerful lions and lionesses, and it appeared that all of Kijani's siblings had never been able to inherit their father's strength, to his dismay. Rhaegar was particularly dangerous as he had taken his temper and manner of being after his father, though he hadn't taken on the strength to intimidate others with. Though in fairness, Kijani couldn't really blame her brother. Their father had tried to model his eldest son into a living replica of himself, though that didn't turn out well for the young lion as their father had wished.
"The pleasure is all mine, do you have any business here or are you merely wandering?" Kijani asked, partly out of curiosity and partly for them to take their minds from Rhaegar's earlier behaviour.
Rhaegar assumed his casual position once more, but he held his grudge stubbornly. Being brought down to earth by his sister, made him realise that there would be little point in him trying to pick a fight with them, yet his stubborn nature meant he would not forget. His gaze was soft and he pretended not to care, he would let Kijani discuss with them. Perhaps she might be able to get something from it.
"The Outlands?" Kijani asked, that would be the closest pride of them all, so the most logical to travel to. Unless they had a longer journey in mind, in which case Kijani couldn't really help them. She turned to look at Rhaegar, they had been travelling back there as well. Rhaegar tacitly knew what Kijani had in mind, from that look in her eyes. The look Rhaegar gave her clearly showed his disapproval to the idea, but Kijani wasn't one to simply keel over. Company would be healthy for them, especially Rhaegar. "We're heading towards the Outlands, so if that is indeed your destination, perhaps you wouldn't mind if we joined you?" Kijani asked.
Behind her Rhaegar let out a sigh, when it came to Kijani, there was indeed no telling her what to do. Kijani had always been like that, she never knew her position as a lioness. Though Rhaegar was grateful for his sister, she had helped him and stood up for him when he was being bullied. Though he didn't always show his love for her, he knew that she knew that anyway.
