OOC - My first time posting an RP on TLKGO so sorry if this isn't up to this site's usual standards.

It was the middle of the night. Kiara found herself unable to sleep so she was sat outside on the edge of Pride Rock. She looked up at the twinkling stars and sighed. She remembered her father telling her, lecturing her about 'the great kings of the past' being up in the sky with the stars. Kiara had always wondered about the great queens of the past and just ordinary lions and lionesses. Surely they were up there too? She didn't think it would be a good idea to actually ask her father these questions, so she never did. Suddenly Kiara heard a noise behind her. She turned to look behind her.

"Kiara?" It was her mother, Nala.
"Kiara?" She said again. "What are you doing out here?"
"Oh nothing." Kiara replied turning back to look at the stars again. "Just looking at the stars. I couldn't sleep."
Nala edged over to her daughter and sat beside her.
"It's cold tonight." Said Nala. "You really should be inside."
"So should you." Kiara pointed out.
"I'd rather sit out in the cold with you than sit inside Pride Rock with anyone else."
Kiara smiled and Nala smiled too.

[Zorayda]

The dark lion's light snores resounded through the den as he slept, his expression peaceful and untroubled by life's worries and hardships. His large paws twitched a bit as he dreamed of stalking prey. Kovu was very happy here in his new home.

His eyes snapped open, two vivid green circles of light that blinked away the remnants of his dream. Kovu slowly came to, noticing that his belly seemed oddly cool from the absence of a certain golden lioness he's been cuddling. He flicked his gaze around the den, but Kiara was not to be found nearby. Kovu's brow wrinkled in slight worry and he rolled to his paws. With a stretch and a sleepy groan, he was awake and alert, his training from Zira making him able to surpass his body's needs.

He meandered out of the den's mouth on silent paws, his muscular form almost wraithlike as he stepped around dozing lionesses to make his way outside. Kovu paused, ears perked forward, as he caught the silhouette of his beloved mate and her mother up ahead at Pride Rock's promontory. Relieved that Kiara hadn't gotten into any trouble, Kovu's body relaxed noticeably and his green eyes softened back to tired happiness. Continuing his stealthy approach, the ex-Outlander came up close behind the lionesses before speaking.

"Just what are you two girls up to out here?" He asked cheekily, sitting on his haunches and cocking an eyebrow at the pair.

OOC - Didn't like my post, seeing as nobody replied I'm editing it.

Nala and Kiara jumped at the sudden voice. They turned and saw Kovu.
"I couldn't sleep." Said Kiara, slightly embarrassed.
"So she's looking at the stars." Nala continued. She looked back up at the stars. "Simba reckons all the great kings of the past are up there. He's a bit obsessed with stars if you ask me. They're very pretty, but I don't know if they're kings."

Kiara stared at her mother, she was stunned. "Why do you say that?"
"It's rather late to be getting philosophical don't you think?" Said Nala. She got up, she walked over to Kovu, swishing her tail around as she did.
"What are you doing up anyway?" She asked Kovu.
"Mum, you didn't answer my question!" Kiara whined.

[Lokisenna]

Hunched, hiding under the base of Pride rock, sat a tatter and slim Lioness, he face was full of hatred, as she listened to the sounds of Nala, Kiara and Kovu above. It was dangerous for her to be sitting there, but she took the risk. With noone to lead anymore, she was a loner. The Final follower of Scar, she would destroy Simba's line if it was the last thing she did.

"Traitor." She hissed, once she heard Kovu's voice, "I will avenge Scar, even if you were too cowardly to do it. I will prove to every Pridelander that Scar was the only King. I will show them all!" She growled, Before hunching near a dip of rocks to conceal herself from any of the pride.

[Lionel]

Tojo was watching from the distance, and he didn't know, if Simba would let him join. He saw the queen, her daughter and the prince, as he thought. He knew about Zira and the fights, so when Zira growled, he startled looked that way, and thought that there was some one. Curios he Tojo slowly moved to the rocks. His blue eyes were sparkling because he was interested.

-Ouch, not again!- He cursed the Great spirit, because he had sprained his leg tripping over some rocks. He landed in front of Zira.
-Who are you?-
Tojo didn't know how Zira looked, so he didn't know what trobule he's gotten into.

[Zorayda]

[OOC: Jessamine, the only reason I didn't answer is because I don't always have time. Sorry :/]

Kovu chuckled as mother and daughter bickered, grinning as his mate's mother directed a question at him.

"Oh, I was just cold and lonely all by myself in our little den," he said in a pitiful voice, pouting at Kiara with false sadness. The dark lion's tail twitched with suppressed mirth, green eyes sparkling. He was unaware of other presences out and around Pride Rock as of yet, absorbed in the warm safety of his new family.

OOC: It was Nala who asked the question, and they didn't go back inside. But whatever.

"Awww poor little Kovu." Said Nala smiling. She tried not to laugh. She was only teasing him but teasing others was always fun and gave her a thrill.
Kiara walked over to where she usually slept and lay down, head between her paws.
Nala went over to where she usually slept besides Simba and lay down too, squashing Simba just a little. Of course she did this deliberately.

"Now to try and sleep." Kiara laughed. She turned to Kovu. "If I can't sleep I shall annoy you to amuse myself."

[Lokisenna]

Zira raise her head and hissed at the lion who had landed at her paws, she'd never seen him before, but he didn't seem to be part of the pride.

An idea sprung into her head and she smiled, or at least tried to, "My name is...Zava." she said slowly, putting a paw to her head she feigned a dramatic air, "I was pulled under in the floods that were some time ago. I have no idea who I am, and I heard there was a pride here, But I am too afraid to ask." she shuddered and quavered cowering close to the floor.

/take the bait idiot/ she thought quietly to herself.

[Lionel]

-The flood? how unlucky. I heard a certain lion named Zira died in the flood. Yes, there is a pride. It's Simba's pride, Simba is my old friend from cub times. Maybe let's ask him, can we join?-
"Poor Zava. Getting in to the flood is horrible."
Tojo felt sorry for the lion.

[Zorayda]

[OOC: Okay, Jessamine, I fixed it :3]

Kovu followed the lionesses inside, nodding to Nala as she took her place beside Simba. He pressed his body alongside his beautiful mate, feeling her warm fur and skin against his and reveling in her touch.

He chuckled in response to her quip. "Ahh, but if I have endless patience, you'll only end up annoying yourself," he responded, smirking. They continued on to their den, Kovu still unable to take his eyes off of his bubbly, beautiful mate.

"I love you," he told her in a quiet murmur. Kovu loved to watch her mouth pull up in a smile and her hazel eyes sparkle every time he said this, and so he did it often to remind her that his heart belonged to her. The dark lion smiled gently as they took their place in their own little sleeping spot, wrapping a paw around her chest and laying his chin atop her head.

"Sweet dreams, love, unless you're still on about irritating me to death," he whispered, laughing quietly. He gave her ear a lick, smiling to himself as he dozed off.

Little did he know that the one who once was his mother was plotting a way to come back to Pride Rock...

"I love you too." Kiara whispered, lightly licking Kovu's cheek. She snuggle up beside him, burying her head in his chest. She could feel his chest moving up and down as he breathed. It was almost as if Kovu's chest had been specifically designed for her head to rest on. Kiara smiled, hopefully now she would be able to get some rest. She had no idea that Zira was lurking, but perhaps she could sense that trouble was brewing. Perhaps that was why she couldn't sleep previously.

Nala sighed and closed her eyes, falling quickly into a deep sleep.

[Lokisenna]

Zira, now Zava, shook and shuddered, "That would be so kind of you...I'm scared that they'll reject me. Will we go in the morning?" She asked a glint of evil joy shining in her eyes as she looked to the floor, and her battered ears drooped.

[Lionel]

"Okay. Let's go in the morning. Untill that, I will find a cozy place to stay in the night. It's not far from here." Said Tojo and started walking towards some trees.

[Lokisenna]

(OOC: for roleplays sake, can I send Zira to bed now? I know it hasn't been two posts D: )

Zira nodded and slowly followed after Tojol Looking back at Pride Rock with malice.

As they walked, the night became light, preparing itself for the sunrise.

Nala awoke the next morning, she looked around. She got up and went outside. It was a beautiful sunny day. Nala smiled. She decided to go for a walk before breakfast.

Kiara was still asleep, she didn't get to sleep until the early hours of the morning. She snored softly.

[Lokisenna]

Zira awoke as the sun shone at her, winking as if it knew what she planned, she grinned and sat up, looking around she noticed Tojo nearby.

In the previous night she'd stated that she wanted no company when she slept, that time was reserved for Scar who had been dead for years. If she was to be Queen, she was now flying solo.

Yawning she stalked over to Tojo, adjusting her body into the meek, pitiful, amnesic persona she was playing to get into the pride. Nudging Tojo with slight resentment she said as softly as she could "Wake up, we are going to join the pride today." but it still came out harsh, she hoped that in his tiredness he wouldn't have noticed.

[Lionel]

Mumbling something, Tojo got up and went to the water pond. After that he said to Zara, that he was ready.

[Zorayda]

Kovu's eyes peeled themselves open as the sun shone into the den, his body used to waking at the early hours of the morning. He was greeted with the vision of Kiara's golden fur in front of his face, her body moving in a slow, easy rhythm with her slight snoring. The dark lion chuckled quietly and flicked his tongue out to lick the back of her ear. Her warm fur tasted and smelled slightly of earth and honey.

Kiara opened her eyes sleepily.
"What do you want?" She mumbled.

Nala was walking through the Pride Lands. She went through some tall grass.

[Lokisenna]

Zira inhaled and smiled, bobbing her head enthusiastically, "Yes, let's go."

[Lionel]

"Someone is coming. but I just can't see who it is. "
Tojo said. but keept walking towards Pride Rock.
This lion...Seems suspicious... Eh, what do I know?

Nala saw a lion in the distance... She didn't recognise him from anywhere. Maybe he was a rouge? Nala wondered if she should turn back, go to Pride Rock and alert Simba, but she kept walking forward. She got closer and closer to the lion. There was another lion standing behind him, no a lioness. Zira!

Nala paniced. Was this REALLY Zira, the lioness who had caused so much trouble, who had tried to kill her beloved family? She should definetely turn back, Simba needed to be alerted immedietely, but they had seen her now, they would think she was a coward.

She put on a brave face and kept moving forward.

[Lionel]

WAs it Nala...Really....

-NALA?! IS THAT YOU! IT'S ME,TOJO!-
He runned towards nala, like a little cub. He was happy to see long lost friends. But why did she look at Zara that way? THe lions blue eyes were looking at the queen.
-What is it? That's Zara, she want's to join the pride, and I do to...-

Kovu chuckled once again and yawned, fangs gleaming.

"Mm, g'morning, love," he murmured, tucking his nose against Kiara's neck. "I'm gonna go get some water and wake up a little. You can sleep in if you want," he told her, carefully extracting himself so that he didn't jostle her too much. "Just don't be too long. You'll get sore," he teased, then padded his way out of the den.

With a long stretch, his bones popped comfortably into place. The chocolate-brown lion made his way quietly down to the royal watering hole, being careful not to wake anyone. At last he came upon it and he bent his head to lap at the cool, sweet water, the temperature perking him up and making him feel more alert. When Kovu drank his fill, he straightened up, ready to head back to the den, but stiffened when a strange scent caught his attention.

That was no Pridelander scent... and something about it made the fur along his spine raise. Ears perked forward, eyes wide and attentive, Kovu ducked down into a crouch and sneaked his way back up, keeping to shadows to hide himself. That scent was familiar... memories of instinctive terror rose in his heart at it, though he could not remember why... with blood pumping fiercely in his veins, he quickly crept back in where Kiara was.

"Kiara, Kiara wake up," he whispered urgently. "Something... someone is here, and they don't belong. We need to get your father."

Nala blinked. Tojo? She remembered him. But what was he doing with Zira?
"As if Simba and I would be foolish enough to let Zira into our pride." Nala spat. "And you Tojo, what are you doing with her?" Nala felt extreme fear, but she kept it hidden as best she could.

Kiara woke with a start. She was groggy but she had to be alert now and quickly. She got up and shook her head to wake herself properly. She looked around. Her mother was missing.
"Kovu, my mum isn't here, you go and find her while I wake my dad."
Kiara rushed over to where Simba was snoring. She shook him gently with her paw.

OOC - I think it is Moto who is playing Simba, but he hasn't posted yet. I have PMed him.

Zira's eye's widened, "What?" She cowered, "I told you Tojo, I just knew it, who ever I was before now, was going to stop me from being a part of the pride." She shuddered and looked genuinely sad, perhaps from defeat.

She looked to Nala and looked at her carefully, "My name is Zava, I have no idea who this Zira is, I only come here peaceably. And if its so hard for this pride to Take me in, at least keep me the night."

Inside Zira's mind was reeling, she was expecting this, but for the pride she'd expected it to have been done better, All the lioness and Lions were gwaking at her, it was embarassing in the least, you'd think, even if she did come here as Zira they'd be better behaved.

Nala was not fooled. She raised her eyebrows at 'Zava'. "I don't believe you have lost your memory Zira and even if you have that doesn't change the fact you are a bad person and you tried to kill my family."

[Lokisenna]

Zira's shoulder's slumped, she looked feeble and worn out in the dawn light and she sighed, "Maybe I should just leave, nobody believes me, I knew they wouldn't. Thankyou Tojo, I enjoyed your hospitality. I hope you make well in the Pride." she sighed again before plodding back to the base of the rock and back out the the Savannah.

once she made it the the Elephant graveyard she lay on her back and moaned, "It was all going so well!" she said dramatically, "until Nala had to ruin it all, after Kovu, that lioness is the next on my list. All I need is some help, an outsider that they don't know...." she thought as the spires of heat erupted not far away.

(She thinks better in Scar's 'company' XD )

Nala turned to Tojo. "You can come with me, I will tell Simba about Zira and see if he will allow you into the pride." And with that Nala turned and walked a few steps, then she waited for Tojo to follow her.

Kiara shook Simba with her paw again, harder this time.
"Dad! There's an intruder, and they've got Mum!"

Vitani casually stretched as she woke up from her long nap. She ruffled her long dirty blond fur, ready for the day. Her paws kicked up dust as she made her way down from Pride Rock. She was off to go adventuring, as she did everyday. Vitani squinted her eyes to prevent dust from getting in, but she saw a familiar figure. She shook it off, thinking it was nothing, but it kept returning to her head. Who was that lioness? Her gut told her to investigate, so being the curios young lioness she was, she whipped around and headed back for the bottom of Pride Rock. She hid in the long grass, just as she would when she was hunting. The figure was speaking to Tojo, so Vitani just thought it was another lioness. But she didn't look like a Pridelander at all. But something clicked. Rough, dirty fur, amber eyes filled with vengeance, and a snarl that never went away.
It was her mother, Zira.
