Name: Kahawia
Name Meaning: "brown" in Swahili
Gender: female/lioness
Age: preteen (also depends on RP)
Alliance: none currently
Physical Appearance: A little on the small side, but well-proportioned. Kahawia has a rounded, thick build (Pridelander-style) with a filled out look and smooth short fur. She has large, neat eyes and small ears, and a rather short tail. In color she's a medium brown, with a thick stripe of darker brown from her forehead to the tip of her tail, including the whole of the tail. The tips of her ears are this darker brown as well. Her stomach, muzzle, and toes are a very pale creamy color, as is the shading around her eyes. The insides of her ears are a very deep chocolaty brown as is her tail's fur tuft. Her large nose is a pinkish color and her eyes are a very light sky blue.
Kin: Mlima (mother - deceased), Bundi (father - whereabouts unknown)
Orientation: pansexual.
Love Interest: none
Offspring: none
Personality: Clever and charming would be two good words to describe her. Kahawia is first off a smart, tricky lioness. She uses her brain more than she uses her physical strength. Though she loves to talk, she isn't a nonstop chatterbox and knows when to keep her maw shut. She's pretty reasonable, when she's not angry, and tends to have a bright outlook on life. She enjoys making others laugh, and is quite proud of her abilities. However, she does use sarcasm all the time and sometimes seems quite rude. She isn't afraid to speak her mind about things and other creatures, whether it be positive or negative. Kahawia is a friendly creature from the start, but if you get on her bad side, she won't easily forgive and forget.
The lioness is definitely short-tempered. She flares up quickly and aggressively, spitting out insults at whatever caused her fury. She almost enjoys using words as a harming method, but if that doesn't work than she'll jump right out with claws unsheathed and teeth bared. She likes a good fight and is rather skilled at it. Kahawia burns hot and furious, but once the problem is solved she cools down pretty easily. Those who are on her good side will usually stay, and those who are not will usually stay that way.
When it comes to males--at least, young good-looking ones, she can be a downright flirt. Kahawia can be a little proud and arrogant and likes to view herself as better than some, but she is a kind lioness inside.
History: Born into a very small pride, called the Shrublanders (as they resided in what the called the Shrublands--a grassy plain with many scrubby bushes and scraggly trees) as an only-cub. So small, that it was only herself and another cub that made up the youth. Her father Bundi was a second-in-command male and her mother was an exotic lioness, named Mlima, who grew up in a distant mountainous pride. Kahawia took after her father in looks but her mother in personality. Her only friend was the other cub, a sweet female named Matunda. Her parents doted on their daughter and she led a very good life in her early days.
When she was nearing the end of cubhood, a lighting fire swept through the pride's land. Kahawia was separated from her mother and most of the pride during it. She, her father, Matunda, and another lioness named Laini had escaped one way. All were injured, though Laini and Matunda were the worst. During their trek to search out the rest of the Shrublanders, Laini died from her burns, and Matunda fell seriously ill. Not long after, the cub died. Kahawia was devastated, and succumbed into a distant, angry phase. Their attempts to find the rest of the pride had failed, and she and her father went along, wandering strange lands. During a furious argument with her grieving father (who was overcome by the idea of his mate gone), Kahawia ran off in tears. She fled far and fast, dismayed at her fortune and scared of more death.
A month passed and she healed, both physically and mentally. Her anger abated as she found hope in the world, by observing what was around her. She's been on the move since.
