A Shadowed Past

"Why thankyou, i always have lots of energy in the mornings so that's a bonus." She said and laughed.
"Are you just gonna sit there all morning?" Bahreeka ran up to fire got behind him and pushed him back to the others.
"Sooo, when exactly are we leaving??

[Fire]

He suddenly feels a push from behind him, skidding his rump along the grass right back to the others and then halted near Zander and Meri, his eyes wide-open all the way back to the group and then looking over at Bahreeka. "Heh heh. Fiiiine. Let's head out."

[Kirsui]

All of a sudden, as Bahreeka pushed Fire from behind, Meri started laughing.
There was something funny in the situation, Meri just couldn't help but laugh at it.
"I'm sorry..." she managed to say as she tried to hold her laugh. She hadn't felt like laughing in a long time.
When Meri finally calmed down she had a slight smile playing on her face.
"Let's get going then, shall we?" she said as she stood up, looking at Zander to see if he was ready to go.

[Lorien]

Zander looked over to Meri, he too with a smile on his face because of the situation. "Yes, it's about time that we begin." He then looked to the others as they played around and he chuckled a bit to himself. These friends would make his journey a lot easier. They were going to fill it with smiles and laughter and replace the loneliness that would have accompanied him were they not by his side.

"YAY!!!" Bahreeka yelled out, she then ran up to meri and zander and hugged them. "Finally you have come to your senses!!!" She then walked over to Fire who still seemed to be in shock from being pushed by a cheetah.
"C'mon, get up!!" She said as she nudged him.

Amaiza laughed at Bahreeka, getting all sxcited about their journey.
"Well at least someone knows how to get Fire moving." She said and laughed.

[Fire]

Fire smiles and raises an eyebrow when Amaiza comments him, starting to walk beside her and nip at her ear playfully. "Are you saying that I am lazy, Amaiza?... Considering the fact that I am the one who brought food to you once in a while when you were sick and stuff, I would be careful on what you say, Zaya." Fire only called Amaiza "Zaya" when he was really playful.

"Oh god, now i'm in for it." She mumbled to herself when Fire started calling her 'Zaya'.
"Well we're leaving now anyway!!" Amaiza said and rushed ahead of the others and away from Fire.

"Zaya?? since when was Amaiza called Zaya?" Bahreeka looked at Fire then back at Amaiza as she ran off away from Fire.

[Lorien]

Zander smiled at the three and then looked to Meri. "They seem to be a bit more rowdy than we are, wouldn't you agree?" He chuckled slightly and started walking in the direction of the mountains, looking at them with both admiration and wonder. What was waiting for them there? He looked at the snow topped peaks and sighed slightly. How cold would it be? This was going to be a very difficult journey, one that none of them would ever forget. Hopefully...and with this thought, Zander sighed deeply...they would all make it through this in one piece. He also hoped that they wouldn't run into his father, that they would make it to this lion of his dreams without other encounters...

[Fire]

Fire giggles slightly and then looks over at the Zander and Meri. "Well, a guy's gotta take care of the playful ones.." With that said, Fire winks at the two and bursts off after them, pouncing onto Amaiza and pinning her down with his paws on her shoulders. He looks at Amaiza from his head going over her own, his head looking upside to her. "Heh heh. Gotcha..."

"ARGH!!!" Amaiza yelled out as she saw Fire jumping at her. "oomph.. hi Fire." She said and smiled. She flipped Fire onto his back. " And i got you too... now we're even." She said and got off her friend.

Bahreeka watched as Amaiza and Fire pounced on each other. As Amaiza got off Fire she ran up and jumped on him, and pinned him back to the ground. "Why are you lieing around? we're leaving now!! remember?!?!" She said and stared at him.

[Fire]

He gasped as he was rolled over by Amaiza, smiling as he looked up at her. "Heh heh. All right, you made your point..."

Just as he barely got himself up, he ooofed loudly as Amaiza pounced him to the ground. "You do realize that you must have patience, Zaya... Otherwise, others won't come to you... It's a fact." He winks as pushes Amaiza off, getting up and waiting for Zander and Meri to catch up.

[Kirsui]

Meri watched wlightly amused as Fire, Amaiza and Bahreeka were playing around.
Atleast they know how to have fun... she thought.
Meri let out a small sigh. She hadn't been playing with anyone for ages. She doubted that she propably didn't even know how to have fun anymore.
Shaking her head slightly Meri continued walking in silence.

[Fire]

Hmmm... I think Meri can have a little fun as well...

Fire thought this as he sleeked around her, suprising from behind as he nibbled her ear out of her vision. When Meri turned around in wonderment, he jumped in front of her, front legs extended and his eyes giving a playful look. "Care to come join, Meri?..."

Amaiza watched as Fire stoof infront of Meri. She ran up to him and shoved him out of the way. "Hi Meri! Wanna join in?" She said and grinned playfully.

Bahreeka then walked over to Fire who was laying on the ground. "How many times do i have to tell you Fire?!?!? we are leaving now!!!!"

[Kirsui]

"I-a... Um..." Meri started to say to fire, but then Amaiza came before she could reply to Fire. Meri smiled faintly.
"No..." she said. "I'll prefer to walk at the moment."
She smiled weakly to Fire and Amaiza. She wasn't really on the mood of playing at the moment.
Meri turned to look forward again and continued walking.

[Lorien]

Zander chuckled as he walked, watching the three play. He wished that he himself could have so much spirit and energy, but he had never really been the playful type. Not that he would remember. Perhaps seeing the death of his mother at his own father's hands ruined any chances of having fun as a cub. He strained his mind to remember what happened after her death when he ran into the jungle...remembering the young cub he saw in his dreams. Who was she? Why couldn't he remember her? Zander shook his head to relieve the thoughts, not wanting to think about his past at the moment. He just wanted to focus on the journey ahead of them for a while. And with the company he currently had, it would be easy to get his newly found memories from his mind.

[Fire]

Fire discovered himself, yet again flat on his back as Amaiza shoved him out of the way, finding Bahreeka standing over him. "... Tell that to Amaiza..." He laughed heartily, getting up and lunging after Amaiza, rolling his body so that they tumbled together for a moment, pinning her down his paws pressed on her chest. "Now, we're even..." Winking as he got off of her, he continues walking, looking back at Meri and smiling happily, wishing that she was more playful. Although, he knew it was obvious that it would take some time before she could gather the courage to have fun.

"Sure thing Mer..OOMPH!" Amaiza said as she hit the ground. "Okay.. okay fine.." She said and pushed him off her. She got up and shook the dirt off her grey fur.

Bahreeka watched as Fire pinned Bahreeka to the ground. "I wanna play too!! She said and ran over and pinned Fire onto the ground.

[Fire]

"Heh heh. Sure you caaaaan.. Ack!... Ohhphmmm!!" Fire suddenly hit the ground yet again when Bahreeka pounced him, looking up at Zander with a playful/pleading look. "Pleeease Zander.. Come help me!... It's nooo fair with two of them against me!... Heelp!"

Fire was saying this very melodramatically, looking up at Bahreeka with a grin and then reaches his paws up to her chest, pressing hard and flipping her onto her back while getting a foothole on the ground. This made it so Bahreeka flipped over backwards and Fire was on top. "Come on.. Even with both of you two on me, you still can't handle the all-powerful lion... If ya can't take the heat, get out of the grasslands..." He says while smiling down, making a joke with his name.

"Oh really??" Amaiza said as she got up off of the ground and charged at Fire again knocking him off Bahreeka. Both of them walked over and stood above Fire staring down at him with playfull grins on their faces. "Do you still think so?" Bahreeka asked him playfully.

[Lorien]

Zander just chuckled some more as the three continued to play. "Sorry, Fire. With my injuries, I'd better stay out of this one." He smiled over at Meri and gave another chuckle. "Besides, I don't think I want to get into with those two. They seem pretty dangerous."

[Fire]

"Danger?... I laugh in the face of danger.. Ha ha ha!" Fire laughed heartily while looking upside down at Zander. "Well.. Actually.. They don't look dangerous at all, actually.." He smiles up at Amaiza and Bahreeka, pressing up onto their chest with one of his paws on each. He got enough power to get both onto their back and Fire sitting over them with a grin on his face and his paws still on their chests.

"I certainly do think so... Maybe these two lionesses can pick on someone their size, eh?..." He says with a chuckle and a warm smile. "Heh heh. I guess I am the one that you can't handle... Maybe one day you can take me down..." He grins and turns his back to the lionesses, walking respectfully back to Zander and Meri when they were a distance away.

Bahreeka got up and ran as fast as she could around and infront of Fire and pinned him down to the ground. "Pinned ya again!" She said and laughed. She stepped off him and walked back over to Amaiza, helping her up.

[Fire]

"Ack!" Fire shouted out as he was pinned again by Bahreeka, getting up just as Amaiza was helped up by Bahreeka. "Heh heh. It's gonna take a lot more than a cheetah to get me tired." Fire grins and winks at the two, continuing his way along with Zander and Meri.

[Lorien]

Zander looked away from the three, gazing to the mountains as they were getting closer and closer. Granted, they were still in the horizen, but they were still walking always further towards the goal. He looked down at his paws as they hit the ground, the grass stifling any thuds that might be heard on just soil. He frowned a bit, knowing that the grass would soon be gone and that it would be replaced by hard, cold stone and dirt after a while. He looked back up from the ground. He could see a few scattered trees, but since they left the forest, they were becoming sparce. He looked over at Fire as they walked. "I believe we will need to find a place to rest before the day is spent. It will take another day's journey to reach the mountains, and travelling at night is ill advised." He then looked over at Meri and the other two. He smiled warmly, happy to know that they were there by his side in this adventure of theirs. He looked once again to his front, back to the cascading mountain peaks and his smile faded. What was waiting for them there? Or, more importantly, who.

[Fire]

Fire could see what Zander was talking about as he gazed at the horizon towards him, the sun being almost set and the colours brilliantly shining through. It was a marvel to look at, but it was a sign that night was coming... Predators that Fire or the group want to face come out at night to feast and he didn't want to interfere with them. "Yeah. I think we shooould head to shelter..." He giggles a little before pouncing the unexpected Bahreeka, turning around and walking alongside Zander with a proud grin on his face.

After a few moments of walking, Fire spotted a cave not far off from his line of sight. It wasn't the best place, but it was good and close enough to the necessities that they needed. "There's a cave up ahead... And just in time..." The sun's edge was just barely over the horizon, seeming painfully slow for it go pass over the mountains.

[Kirsui]

Meri turned to look at the direction Fire was looking and noticed the cave.
Meri sighed slightly. Meri was used to sleep in the middle of deep jungle but she obviously had to get used to caves if she was about to stay with the group. She didn't really like caves that much, but the others propably would prefer to sleep inside.
Meri didn't say anything, just nodded as if telling that the cave was fine for her. She was feeling a bit tired.
And then she remembered how she had been sleeping ately.
Meri flattened her eas. She had had this nightmare about herself and some other lions. It was about how she got her scar. And it kept repeating itself in her dreams.
And it would most likely come to her tonight too.
Meri took a deep breath, trying not to think about the dream.

Bahreeka got up off the ground from being pounced by Fire and looked at the cave he had just pointed out. "I choose where i get to sleep first!!" She said and ran off as fast as she could and into the caves. "I bag this rock! " She yelled out and lay down on a big rock in the corner of the cave. Amaiza also followed Bahreeka into the cave, although she was not as fast as the hyperactive cheetah. "I bags here!" Amaiza said sitting in the other corner of the cave.

[Kirsui]

Meri followed calmly Amaiza and Bahreeka to the cave. She walked in and took a look around. She noticed that Amaiza and Bahreeka were going to sleep in the corners of the cave so she had to look for a nother place to sleep.
Meri shrugged and walked in, laying down near the back wall of the cave, facing the entrance of the cave and making sure she would be able to see it with her left eye.
The white lioness yawned slightly, placing her head on her paws and getting ready to fall asleep.

[Lorien]

Zander stood outside of the cave a while as the others went inside. Sitting right outside of the mouth of the cave, he stared at the sky, the purple, orange, and yellow colors soothing his mind and spirits. He sighed deeply before standing back up and walking slowly inside, taking in all that the cave had to offer. He saw that the three females had taken their placed up at the back of the cave, and he smiled. He would rather sleep by the entrance anyhow. He loved to watch the night sky as he went to sleep, especially when he knew it would be a hard feat to accomplish. So, he settled himself down next to where the cave opened up, not directly in the middle but more off to the side. He layed his head upon his paws, waiting for the stars to shine outside overhead. They had begun to appear, but the presence of the setting sun disabled them from their full potential. He then turned and looked to the others, a pleasant smile on his face. "Goodnight my friends. May your dreams see you to the morning." Where had he heard that before? He knew someone must have said it, it came to him much too quickly for him to make it up by himself. He turned to the sky, a frown now on his face. Damn this confounded memory of mine... he thought, closing his eyes, trying to rack his brain of the memories that he couldn't recall. After a while, seeing that they either weren't there or they were well hidden, he sighed deeply and layed his head upon his massive paws and closed his eyes, attempting sleep but knowing it would not come.
