*Prides Of The Savannah*

[Fire]

He turns around. "I don't listen to slaves, Bleak..." He says these final words before turning away from the enemy, focusing his attention to Akida and Kiala.

"We have to get Mino out of there... He's going to get killed if he stays where Legacy is..."

[Pulsar]

“Let go of me!”
Mino said annoyed as he turned and rolled on the ground as Legacy continued to drag him along.
“Where are you taking me Legacy? You know that no matter what I won’t tell you anything….”
He continued as he tried digging his claws from his one good paw into the ground.
“I never expected you to do such a thing Mino, I only wanted you so that I could finish the job I seemed to have failed the first time…..”
A grin appeared on Legacy’s face.
“But this time I don’t think I’ll kill you so quick…. I think I’ll make you suffer much more….”
He added as his grin faded.
“Do your worst Legacy; I’m no longer afraid of you. You’re just a worthless maggot to me, nothing more…..”
“OH, do my worst I shall Mino, I’ll have you calling me your master soon enough…..”
Legacy chuckled.
“Do my worst, oh I shall Mino, I shall….”
He finished as his grin reappeared, this time more demonic then last.
“I’ll do no such thing; I’d rather die before bowing to you….”
Mino said in protest as he turned his head to looked at Legacy.
“The mind is a complex thing Mino, there are many things not known about it…. I am capable of much more then mere torture of petty killing… Why, I see no worse fait for you then serving the one lion you hate most…. Wouldn’t you agree?”

Mino didn’t reply he just frowned then turned his head back again.
“What I find interesting is that you have given up hope of being rescued already; I can see you are smarter then most… Dreaming of such fantasies is pointless…”
Legacy paused for a brief moment.
“You wouldn’t believe how many times I’ve heard an Otana say ‘They’ll come to rescue me’ this, and ‘I’ll escape sooner or later’ that… it’s so annoying that they can’t just accept their fait….”
He paused again, his grin getting more evil.
“But not you, you are too intelligent for such trivial things as hope…. However, giving your life for that lioness makes me consider that maybe you aren’t as smart as you seem to be…”
Legacy chuckled once more. Mino looked at the ground, he knew his fait was sealed, he had know it since he had gave the offer for the trade. All that was on his mind now was the thought of what Legacy had meant when he said about no worse fait then serving a lion he truly hated.
Mino’s eyes narrowed. Surely Legacy had no way of doing such things, true he was able to play with lion’s minds when he tortured them, but even such things have their limits right?
Mino let out a sigh and closed his eyes, trying to concentrate on something so he could drown out the pain of his hurt body as it was dragged over rock and gravel and dirt and grass alike.

“Here we are Mino Welcome to you new home….. Make yourself comfortable, you’ll be spending a lot of time here….”
Legacy said in a plain yet mischievous voice as he flung Mino along the ground.
“I’ll be back to you later, I’ve got to see to a few….. ‘Matters’…. Don’t bother trying to find your way out, you’ll just get lost…. And I think you know the consequences that your pride will get if you escape and return back to them….”
Legacy walked to the edge of the small clearing and looked back at Mino.
“Your soul a belongs to me now Mino, and don’t you forget that….”
He said in a stern voice before leaving and disappearing back into the jungle.

Alone now, Mino surveyed his surroundings. The small clearing in the middle of the dense forest. He had never known of its existence. But then again it was closer to Jahina territory then Otana. The light seemed to penetrate the dense jungle tree line well in this small clearing. It didn’t seem too big, but it was peaceful enough. His eyes focused on a nearby waterhole; though small it had an ample water supply for a thirsty lion or two. Liking his lips Mino proceeded to drag himself along the ground. His faced strained as he used all the energy he had. Dragging his legs and body with the one paw. It took a minute or two but he reached the waterhole and then dunked his head into the water taking a big gulp of water then, lifting his head back out, rolled onto his side and lay his head on the waters edge looking down at it with his eye which was closer to the ground and the other one being closed. To anyone from a distance he would appear asleep, but his mind was too riddled with thoughts to actually be.

Tef had followed from distance while Legacy had draggen Mino to the clearing. She had a painful expression on her face as she stared the place.
Why here...? Why... right... here? she asked herself, waiting quietly that Legacy left. She kept still for some time, watching as Mino took a drink from the waterhole and then seemed to fall asleep.

Tef sighed and slowly climbed down from a tree she had been hiding. She took a careful look around and walked then to the clearing. She stopped when she reached the waterhole and sat down, giving a quick look for Mino - not noticing he was awake. She shook her head and turned to look at the waterhole.

[Pulsar]

Mino’s eyes suddenly shot open as he realised he wasn’t along, his good arm lunged forward and grabbed one of Tefs.
“You ever you are you picked the wrong lion to sit near!”
Mino said in a dead, aggressive voice. As his eyes seemed to see right through Tef as though she was nothing to him. But his expression quickly faded as her face registered with him.
“T-Tef?”
He said in a confused voice as he released his tight grip on her.
“Is that you?”
He continued.
“What are you doing here? It isn’t safe…”
He said as he frowned slightly. Though he was happy to see Tef after such a long time, he was worried that Legacy might catch her, and even though she used to be a Jahina, Mino had a gut feeling Legacy wouldn’t be happy about a run away returning.
“Tef you need to get out of here, Legacy left me here; he could come back at any time…”

[Kirsui]

Tef turned to look at Mino when he grabbed one of her paws. She listened to what he had to say with a blank expression.
"I know he left you here" she replied. "I followed you."
She then turned to look around the clearing and sighed.
"Yes, I'm aware it's maybe not that wise, but what can I do" she said. "And besides... I have as good right to be here as he does."
Tef turned her eyes to the waterhole.
"Atlest he could have saved this place from..." she started on a slightly annoyed voice, but stopped before she finished the sentance.

[Pulsar]

Mino looked at Tef confused as she spoke, then when she stopped he didn’t say anything but just continued to look at her.
“Tef…”
He said as he frowned slightly not sure what to say.
“Please, you cannot stay here, who knows what he’ll do to you if he catches you….”
Mino’s usual attitude of putting others safety above anything else took over.
“PLEASE Tef! I don’t want to see a friend get hurt, after all we have much to catch up on, and we can’t if he kills you….”
Mino pleaded as he tied to stand up but fell back down.
“I’m in no condition to force you to leave, but I’m asking you, as a friend or old times, please go…”
He said one last time before looking at the water, at his reflection. The idea that he couldn’t do anything to protect those he cared for. A thought that constantly burned in him.

[Kirsui]

Tef sighed again.
"No, Mino..." she said and turned to look at him. "I'm not leaving. I don't actually care very much if Legacy finds me here or not."
Tef turned to look away from Mino, staring at the trees on the other side of the waterhole.
"What would it matter?" she said. "That I would be saved if I'd leave now? Pfff... I highly doubt it..."
She paused for a moment, not sure if she should continue or not.
"You see... I propably wouldn't have to meet Legacy if I'd leave, but... I'd be bugged by the thought that I know where you - one of my... *sigh* few friends - are and..."
Tef sighed again, shaking her head slightly.
"You wouldn't understand if I'd try to explain..."
She then stopped again, turning to look around again.
"What happened to Kiala?" she asked. "I saw her earlier on the Jahina lands with Legacy, but..."
She turned to look at Mino, waiting for a reply.

[Pulsar]

Mino looked at Tef then back at the water.
“I…. I don’t know, after the trade I never seen her, I can only hope they kept their word and released her.”
Mino smiled faintly.
“Well at least my debt to her is repaid…”
He paused as his smile faded.
“A life for a life…. I… owed her my life for saving it, so I repaid the favour by saving hers….”
Then he lay back on his side and looked at the water.
“Not much meaning for me now…. I’m pretty much dead…. I mean look at me, I can’t fight to defend the ones I love. I can’t fend for myself…. I can’t even stand….”
Mino went on, clearly caught up in his thoughts again. Then shaking his head he snapped out of it and looked at Tef.
“I guess you are right, I could never understand your reason for staying, but I just hope it’s a good one Tef….”
He said as he looked back at the water, waiting for his unavoidable fait.
Never thought it would end like this… Can’t say I didn’t get a good run out of life…
A tear slowly appeared in his eye.
“To think of all the things I’m going to miss when Legacy kills me….. Never seeing the end of this war…. Never getting to have cubs of my own or a loving wife…. Never to defend my pride and friends again….”
He chuckled slightly.
“Wonder where I went wrong in life….”

[Fire]

Akida's eyes widened as he heard Fire's words, smacking him upside the head with his paw and frowning. "Fire! Don't get ahead of yourself... Obviously, Jahina has strength on their side. That lion, Gargoroth, is one tough guy. And you say that Legacy is bigger than him... You sure picked the wrong guy to take over, Kito..."

"Yeah.. But, I can't help but think what's happened to Mino so far... I know that Kiala is safe." HE looks over to Kiala, nuzzling his nose under her neck and looking over to Akida. "I'm going after Legacy or Mino... Which ever one I find first..."

"No, Fire... Remember how much you have in strength..."

"No, Akida!... I can't let my true friend die out there becuase of a thing that I could stop!!..."

"Fire!!!... Calm down!!" Akida pounces onto Fire since the red-maned lion tried to get away.

"NO!!!!" Fire shoves Akida off with a swipe to Akida's chest, pushing him off and running away from the group. Akida, stunned for the moment, decided to leave him be. "Stubborn son of a..."

Akida walks over to Kiala. "Can you find your way back?... If you can, hide in a spot where no one could possibly find you... I'm going after him..."

[Deleted]

Amaiza stood in the shadows Watching what was happening. When she heard Akida's last words she ran out to him. " Akida.. what's happening?"

[Kirsui]

"Oh, believe me... My reason to stay is good" Tef whispered quietly, listening then what Mino had to say. She didn't reply when he wondered what had went wrong.
She simply didn't have an answer.
Tef sighed and laid down, staring at the waterhole. She could see some of the fishes swimming around. A faint smile appeared to her face as she recalled her play with the fishes when she had been a cub. Then her smile faded away and she sighed again.
Why do I keep thinking about the past? she thought. Can't I just let it go and keep living in the present?
Deep inside her mind something said she wasn't able to do that. Not now... Maybe never.

Bleak stopped walking when he saw the Jahina caves again. He had been deep in his thoughts for some time now, completely forgetting Gargoroth.
His mind had been wandering to Fire and this new lion. He thought he had heard his name was Akida.
I wonder if they are brothers... he thought. They surely looked like they were close relatives, so I wouldn't be surprised.
Bleak shook his head and started walking again, wondering the new situation. He came to the Jahina caves and sat on a rock. He looked around, still thinking of the current situation.

[Fire]

Akida turned over towards what looked like Amaiza from what Fire told him. He sighs and then looks at her. "Follow Kiala, Amaiza. I have a feeling this is going to get rough. It's..... Judgement Day........"

Fire dashed through trees broke, down branches, always keeping a stead-fast pace towards his goal. It wasn't easy keeping the pace, since he had to duck around branches. Finally, after several moments of searching, he sees a lion and an other. Mino... He slowly walks over to the group, tyring to control his breathing as he says to Tef, "I'm gald you came back..."

[Kirsui]

Tef jumpped up when Fire came to the clearing.
"Fire? How...? What are you doing here?"
Tef stared at him with wide eyes.
"You shouldn't have been able to find this place" she said slightly shocked. No one had ever found to the clearing, not even Bleak. So how Fire...?
Tef was too confused to say anything. She was glad to see Fire, but she also felt a little hurt when he had found the clearing... The only place Tef had kept as a secret - all her life.

[Lorien]

Kiala stared with wide eyes as everything went on around her. She couldn't believe this was all happening, so much in just one day. When she joined the Otana pride, she hadn't realized that she would be joining a group that went through so much pain and suffering over a war. She then listeneing as Akida told her she should go back. She didn't really want to, but she knew there was nothing she could do to help Mino. Silently, she nodded and with a heavy heart and head, turned toward the Otana lands to make the treck back home.

Gargoroth followed close behind Bleak as they walked back to the lands of Jahina. At the moment he wasn't really thinking of anything. Well, his mind was focused on his father. Although he hated him, he was beginning to realize that he was becoming just like him. And here he had told himself just a few days before that he wasn't going to go down that path, that he was going to change his ways of life. The blood that flowed through his viens held to much sway over his own thoughts. He was destined to follow in his father's footsteps.

[Pulsar]

Mino heard fire’s voice then Tefs as they spoke; he opened his eyes and looked up to see Fire.
“FIRE!”
He said in a happy voice as a smile appeared on his face, but it quickly faded.
“Fire! What are you doing here!? It isn’t safe! You need to get out of here before he comes back!”
Mino said in a loud slightly aggressive voice. Though he didn’t mean to seem offensive he was concerned that Fire would get caught and there was no way he could take Legacy.
I bet he came here to rescue me, what was he thinking!?
Mino thought as he looked at Fire.

[Fire]

Even though Fire was hapyy to see Mino at least alive, Fire glared down at him. "Shush... You're giving off too much noise, Mino..." He was hurt to say that to him, but in a way, he was right. Fire didn't want to make his presence known in the Jahina land. "I know that sounded harsh, but I don't want to be found out... And I don't think neither does Tef..." Fire looks at the both of them together, a determined look on his face and his tone showed it as well. "I... am going to end this war right now... Legacy... is going to be 'dethroned'..."

It didn't take long for Akida to find Fire. Fire's red mane stuck out like a polar bear in the forest. Akida slowly walks in to where the group was, not wanting to scare any of them since they looked like they were in a heated discussion.

Fire turned as Akida entered. "I have backup with me..." He had a smile on his face when Akida entered, Akida's smile being almost identical to his own.

[Kirsui]

Tef stared at Fire and Akida. She hadn't seen Akida before, but something in his appearance told her he was Fire's brother.
"You are doing... What?" she said, a bit unsure if she had heard right. She lowered her head and closed her eyes, letting out a sigh.
This is not good... she thought. She then opened her eyes, lifted her head up and sat down, facing the waterhole instead of the others at the clearing. She stared at the water. Her mind was working quickly, thinking of what she should do. She didn't know, and that was bugging her.
Tef closed her eyes again as a tear rolled down her cheek for a reason no one of the others could possibly understand.

[Pulsar]

Mino looked at Fire with a confused frown as he was told to be quiet. It faded though when Mino realised he had been shouting. When He heard Fire say that he was going to end the war and mentioned Legacy, he knew what Fire was planning.
At first he looked at Fire in shock, and then went to speak when a new lion appeared; the lion looked like he must have been a close relation to Fire, though Mino didn’t remember Fire mentioning anything of those sorts whenever they had talked.
“Are you out of your mind?!”
Mino said in a fierce yet low tone of voice as he sort of glared at Fire, not noticing the new lion too much.
“You can’t fight Legacy, doing so is just suicide!”
He continued. Though he didn’t mean any offence by his tone of voice, he was concerned for the life of Fire as well as the new lion. Sure they had found him and Tef, but in doing so they have taken a very big risk.
“You all need to get out of here now! If Legacy Get’s back and finds you here he’ll-“
“He will do what Mino?....”
A look of absolute horror appeared on Mino’s face as he heard a voice interrupt him in the middle of his sentence, a voice that he was all too familiar with.

Turning his head around slowly he watched as from the jungle, Legacy emerged from the dense jungle into the clearing. His face calm though he clearly was aware of the others.
He stood there for a few moments, a slightly demonic smile on his face as he surveyed the situation and the new lions that had made their way to the clearing. Then he noticed Tef standing there.
“Hello my dear daughter, back so soon? Or did you ever leave this place at all?”
He said in a pleasant voice as he looked at her then at the tree tops, clearly aware about her liking to be in them.
“And who is this?”
His smile getting slightly wider as he looked back down at the two brothers.
“Friends of yours Mino?”
His smile faded into a frown.
“I don’t know how you two made it here without losing your way, but when I’m true with you, you will wish you had….”
He threatened but did not move from his position. His posture was straight, at his full height, he had his head tilted back, and he clearly meant business.
“In light of the circumstances, I will, however, let you off…. Just this once…. If you leave now….”
They were lucky; he didn’t make such generous offers all the time. But what made him give them a choice now? Mino didn’t want to know, he only cared about the fact that they had the choice.
“Guys, PLEASE! Take your chance and leave now!”
He said as he took his gaze from Legacy to the others.

[Kirsui]

When Legacy appeared to the clearing, Tef slightly turned her head to look at him from her eyecorner. She sighed and focused on the waterhole again, listening Legacy's talk. She lifted an eyebrow when she heard Legacy would let Fire and Akida go.
What? she thought slightly confused. Even though in that point she would have wanted to say she agreed with Mino, that Fire and Akida should go away, she kept her mouth shut.
Tef felt like what ever she said, it wouldn't help the situation.

[Fire]

Fire and Akida sat down right from where they were standing, stern and serious looks playing on their faces and then didn't move one inch. Fire grimaced as Legacy continued to speak. "That act is gettin old, Legacy... You'd think that after all that hot air is built up in your head that it would make it explode... Then again, that ego of yours made your head a lot bigger than it needs to be..."

Akida snuck in a smile and then returned to the stern look. "Heh heh. Oh well, his strength makes up for it, eh Fire?..."

"Mhmm... Too bad he's lacking in the brain department... Though I do admit, he fights like an bug..."

"Really? I didn't know that..."

"Yeah... It's true... The best lion that fights like a fly i've ever seen..."

By now, Fire and Akida were having a mocking conversation that insulted Legacy. They were having fun with it, too. And the plan was going along perfectly...

[Pulsar]

Legacy smiled pleasantly as Akida and Fire mocked him. When they had stopped he just laughed as though he found it amusing.
“You two have the guts to call me stupid…”
Legacy walked over to Mino and fiercely grabbed him by the neck and lifted him off the ground till he was in the air. Mino clearly looked as though he was being chocked to death. He tried to gasp for air and dug his one good claw into Legacy’s while the rest of his body dangled, but it was nothing more then a waste of time as even though Mino drew blood from Legacy’s paw, he seemed un moved, his face still with it’s grin.
“Tell me my little Otana friends, if I am the stupid one, then how am I holding your dear friends life in my paw……”
Legacy laughed.
“And how, if you are so smarter then I, have you left your friend Kiala to wander home on her own….”
His smile faded into a frown.
“Or where you two too arrogant to realise that neither Bleak nor Gargoroth are currently present….”
Legacy’s eyes shifted to Mino who seemed to be near death. He let go his grip as Mino fell to the ground with a thud, grasping for air.
“I would think that morons such as you two would have enough intelligence between you to realise you have left your pride completely unprotected…. Though I could be wrong…”
Legacy grinned as he stood on Mino broken leg. Mino, letting out a scream as he felt the pain rush up his spine. He lowered his head as a demonic laugh worked its way up his throat then burst out into an echo. They thought they had Legacy, though the truth really was, that he had them, right where he wanted them.
“You two are out of your league. As we speak, I not only have your friend Mino but soon will have brought an end to your retched pride....”
Legacy stood off Mino’s leg and walked around the clearing.
“Your pride for too long has plagued this land, and now it’s day of judgement has arrived…. We will sweep across it like a divine cure and purge the land of your presence….”
Legacy grinned wider.
“You two thought you were so big, standing up to me, with your pathetic insults….”
He started as he walked behind them.
“I could have killed you before you even had a chance to speak…. But I don’t kill worms unless it for my amusement or the interests of my goal…. But you two are too feeble and too brainless to be worth my time killing….. Killing weaklings like you would be more of a chore then an enjoyable event… As for you needing to die because you are in the way of my goal…. Well you pose no threat to me, and you are not near your pride to help them give my lions any resistance so you are meaningless…”
Walking back to where he had originally entered the clearing he grabbed Mino by the leg and pulled him closer then lowered his head to Mino’s ear.
“Would you not agree?”
He said loud enough so that they could all hear. But Mino didn’t reply, he was in too much pain to, with his teeth clenched as his mind endured the pain, he just looked up at Akida and Fire with a glare of almost hate and disappointment.
“Of course you do, I can see it in your eyes… Oh! if only they were intelligent enough to have realised that sooner…. Then maybe your pride might have stood a chance…”
Legacy extended his claws on one paw and lightly placed it on Mino’s head.
“Now… Who ever you two worthless lions are, I suggest you leave… Or you can not only say good bye to dear Mino…”
He paused as he pressed down on Mino’s head. Mino as before screamed as the pain rushed through him. Then Legacy lifted his paw till it was lying on his head again but not pressed down.
“But I’ll kill both of you as well….”
Legacy grinned once more.
“Any wise lion would realise when he was beat and take what he can…. If you care anything about your pride then you will go try and save them… Though, chances are, you are already too late…”
Legacy laughed. The mocking conversation they had about him didn’t make them seem so great now.
“You two aren’t dealing with just another lion… I am afraid this time you have taken on more then you can chew…. I’m not known as the most terrifying lion around for no reason…. And I didn’t get that way by being a ‘hot air headed, brainless fly’”
Legacy’s grin grew wider.
“Though you two certainly fit the description well….. Now why don’t you run home to what’s left of your pride? You have lost…. And all the smart comments in the world will not change that….”

[Fire]

Fire eyes suddenly turned dark from when Legacy mentioned about his pride. "What do you mean 'Otana has plagued the lands'?... We would never go to any measures of doing something as harmful as what you would do to Mino... Even though that we have done wrong in the past, we have forgiven for what we have done... You, on the other hand, just spit on the ground we walk on... And we are not worthless... We come to you to offer peace between the prides..."

[Pulsar]

Legacy just grinned at Fire.
“What is the matter? Why so serious all of a sudden? Has your slander failed you?”
Legacy mocked before laughing.
“And now you want peace!?”
He shouted in a fierce tone of voice as he glared at them.
“You talk about your pride and mine and their history, but you know NOTHING of it!”
Leaning down on Mino’s head slightly, Mino flinched as he thought it was over but Legacy stopped before causing harm.
“You disgust me…. Your arrogance is beyond comparison……”
Legacy wasn’t happy about what Fire had said at all and it would have been clear to anyone standing near him.
“You act like the Jahina have always been the evil ones in this war…. I can assure you that it was not always so….. We just got sick of your infernal pride pushing our tolerance; we used to be peaceful…. “
Legacy paused for a brief moment.
“We used to be a tolerant, helpful and friendly pride, open to all others, never judgemental in their ways against ours and always helping travelling prides by sharing our food and giving them a place to stay for a day or so…. Then your pride came along….. And we were forced to endure their aggressiveness nature, and then…..”
Lowering his head slightly he continued to tell his little story.
“At first we thought nothing of them taking a small bit of our land; we figured that they would move on eventually as all the prides we had met did. But as time passed they took more and more land from us and with that our food….”
Legacy looked back up his eyes glaring at Fire; though his gaze seemed to go right through him as though he was watching the events unfold.
“The place you now call ‘home’ used to be the epicentre of my prides land… Where our king and his family used to live… many years ago….”
Looking at the ground he let out a sigh.
“They continued over the years to take what rightfully belonged to us… But we were a passive pride, we knew nothing of fighting back and nor did we want to…”
He paused again before continuing.
“Then it happened on that one faithful day long ago before any of us, which you Otana pushed us once too often and we decided to push back….”
Taking his paw off of Mino’s head Legacy threw him over to Fire and Akida.
“We were not the ones that started this war…. And we will not be the ones to lose it….. The Otana made the Jahina of today… and now the must endure their creation….”
Mino confused by what happened managed to lift his head and look at Legacy.
Legacy himself had a rather different look on his face. A look as though he was not only angry but upset at the same time. Looking at Tef as she stared at the water, then at Mino, he finally spoke as he looked back at Fire.
“Just take your friend and leave this place….. You have caused more damage by being in this clearing then I could ever do to Mino…..”
With that Legacy walked over and sat down beside Tef, looking at her slightly out of the corner of his eye, before joining her in looking at the water.

Amaiza nodded then started walking with Kiala. " Umm, i'm not sure if we've met already.. but just incase we haven't.. as you already know.. i am Amaiza.."She smiled then turned to Kiala. "So.. could you tell me what exactly is happening at the moment?"

[Kirsui]

Tef had been listening silently as Legacy and Fire talked. She had had to fight against her will to jump up when Legacy had been hurting Mino. But she had sat still, keeping her eyes at the waterhole. When Legacy sat down beside her she turned to look at Fire, Mino and Akida. She felt sorry for Mino, seeing her friend in such a condition hurted her. Tef turned her eyes to Fire. She had a pleading look in them, as if trying to say they should go now that they had the chance.
Tef turned away from those three. She looked down at her paws and then closed her eyes, letting her tears fall freely as she cried in silence.

[Fire]

"Legacy... If only your thick skull could hear what you were saying right now... 'One faithful day long ago', 'We were not', 'Used to be'...." Fire wasn not mocking Legacy the least bit. He was mimicking the things that he said in his own tone. "Your mentioning that everything in the past... That was the past... This is the present... Maybe if you stuck your head out of that cloud of ignorance of yours, you'd see that I want to look past that... I agree with you that what our pride did in the past was terrible. I am thankful that I was not a part of that..."

Fire had serious eyes on him and stared at Legacy with honesty. "Please, Legacy... Too many lions have been either seriuosly hurt, or... killed... including Mino here..." Fire glances at Mino for a moment before looking at Legacy again. "I want to make amends with and leave the past behind as much as we can..."

Legacy’s eyes slowly shifted from the water as he eerily turned his head till Fire was in view out of the corner of his eye.
“Living in the past?.....”
He started in a very low voice.
“You want to put the past behind us so we can have peace!?”
Legacy’s voice boomed as he jumped at Fire landing a foot or two away.
“TELL THAT TO THE JAHINA THAT ASKED THE SAME OF YOUR PRIDE! TELL THAT TO MY WIFE!”
Legacy was beyond ordinary rage, Fire was talking about a subject he knew nothing about and a subject that was so entangled in Legacy’s life as well as that of his family that it meant practically everything.
“DID YOUR PRIDE SHOW US MERCY WHEN WE ASKED THEM TO PUT THE PAT BEHIND AND LIVE TOGETHER AT PEACE!?”
Legacy was breathing heavily and his teeth were showing.
“NO!”
He shouted as he slammed his paw into the ground. Then he seemed to drop into a state of depression as he slumped into a sitting position with his head so low he could lay it on the ground. His mane was covering his face making it impossible to see his face.
“No, they didn’t… Instead, they just killed my wife…”
He said in a very low and easy voice. Though it would have been hard to believe, Legacy actually seemed to be crying.
“You know not of what you speak, so don’t pretend that you do….”

"Legacy! Listen to yourself..." Fire tried to be as calm as he could. Even though he was aware of Legacy's history of temperment, he was no lion to mess with when he's angry. When Fire was concentrating on what to say, he saw something that he had never seen in Legacy before. A hint of sadness was coming from Legacy and Fire calmed down a lot more than he did. "So... It's been a constant war of mistrust... Obvisously, the previous leader of Otana was stupid. But Legacy... **** HAPPENS!!!..." Fire suddenly held his muzzle shut, wanting to seriously take that back.

Tef suddenly lifted her head up and quickly turned to look at Fire. Her eyes were a little darker shade than usually.
"Fire... Why don't you just shut up for a moment?!" she shouted out, tears were still flowing down from her eyes. She didn't actually want to be mean or anything to her friend, but Fire was getting very annoying. Wasn't it enough to listen the 'talk' between her father and friends? Why did Fire have to start talking about the past too? Like it would mean nothing!
Tef was seriously getting enough of this discussion.

"No!... I'm sick and tired of going out every morning, having to stay within the confines of the land that I have no clue why the boundaries are there... I'm sick and tired of having to always watch my step in looking out for any ambushes of lions that could be part of one pride instead of two... AND I'M SICK AND TIRED OF WATCHING FRIENDS AND FAMILY GET KILLED BECAUSE OF SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T INVOLVE ME!!!!!!!!...." During his rant, Fire just exploded with fury, totally blinded by what the reason Tef was saying for him to shut up. In his mind, he was making a point, a statement, and something to agrue with to solve issues.

When Fire was done, he was panting out in soft, but fast breaths, looking over at Tef and then turning his head away in slight embarrasment. "I..I'm sorry..."
