The Tropical Mystery

[Kirsui]

Tef looked around a bit worried as they walked along. This swamp was very odd and she would be very delighted to get away.
"How far we still have to walk?" she asked, stareing on one of the dead animals on the shores of the path. She was glad to see no lionesses there.
This place is creepy, she thought, waiting for reply to her question.

[Pulsar]

Pulsar eyes shifted as he scanned the area, checking every spot to make sure nothing got the drop on them.
“You’re asking the wrong lion, I’ve never set paw in this section of the jungle before….”
He said as he looked at Tef. Then suddenly he got a shiver up his spine as a chilling wind blew past. The animals in the jungle making noise as they communicated to one another.
“Tell me why I offered to tag along to this place again?”
He said as he sneered slightly at a corpse as they walked past it.
“Must have been out of my mind…”
Was all he said as he continued to look around.

"So urgh.. where exactly are we meant to be looking?" Misty asked as she choked on air looking at a corpse they walked past. "I'm so glad that's not me." She said and kept walking.

Tef nodded to Misteeca as a reply, still looking around suspiciously. The corpses around the path were creepy, too creepy.
Tef was about to look at Keplar again when suddenly a huge fog cloud rose to the path. She could barely see Pulsar and Misteeca.
"Lets... wait for a moment..." she suggested, stopping on her tracs. "We don't want to get lost again, do we?"

After a moment the fog cloud started to fade a little. Tef could already see the other side of the swamp.
"Umm... I think we reached the end of the path" she said, starting to walk again on the path. When she came to the end of the path she let out a sigh of relief.
'Finally! Solid ground...' she thought, waiting for the others to come over and glancing around for Keplar.
"Umm... Kep?" she muttered, looking around worriedly.
After coming through the fog cloud Tef couldn't see Keplar anywhere.

Misteeca stopped where she was. She didn't move an inch, she held her breath aswell, for some strange reason. 'I don't like this one bit...' she thought to herself. As the fog cloud dissapeared she let out a sigh of relief. She padded off after Tefnut. She stopped behind her and smiled. "Thank heavens for that!" She said in agreement. She turned around waiting for Pulsar and Keplar. She couldn't see Keplar though. She heard Tefnuts's words. 'Well at least my eyes aren't playing tricks on me..' She thought to herself. "Not again!!" Misty growled annoyingly.

Tawny was still watching her paws intently, every tree root and slippery patch watch another obstacle and she had no intentions of falling flat yet again, she kept going forwards with a quickened pace of her tiny legs to keep up with the others, ever so slightly noticing a kind of Grey forming in front of her eyes, looking up only to to go face first into the back of her Older sister Scout's leg.

Bump and a grumbled sound emitting as she staggered back and twitched her nose, face wrinkled as she looked up at the back of her, now realizing she should have been watching where she was going, but this Grey smoke had put her off!

Tawny looked behind her quickly to see the figure of Misteeca advancing on the pair, she gave a big grin up to her, clearly embarrassed and hoping she hadn't seen her stupidly walk into Scout. But Misteeca seemed to be growling...She did hope she wasent mad at her, now dropping her ears slightly.

Misteeca looked down as she heard a quiet thump. She saw a small cub and a leg. Her eyes followed the leg up to a head. It was a young lioness. She looked back down at the cub who had been grinning but her ears were now flattened on her head. Maybe it was because she been growling. "Hello there little one.." She said sweetly to the little a cub. A smile reappeared on Misty's face as she stared down at the adorable little cub. She then turned back to the lioness. "Hello.. hope we're not intruding or anything.." She said cautiously. "Names Misteeca, please call me Misty though." She added on quickly, as to not sound rude.

Scout had fallen into her thoughts. She had been with the hunting group of the pride, only to find out the group had lost into the jungle. She had lost of the others.
Scout glared suspiciously at the unexpected fog cloud, feeling something bump into her leg. She looked down, seeing her little sister, Tawny.
"Tawny... Where's Tazani?" she asked, seeing then how her sister suddenly flattened her ears. Scout lifted her head up, seeing three lions and forgetting Tazani momentarily.
Well... 2 lions, actually. One of them looked more like a leopard.

Scout smiled faintly at one of the lions, Misteeca.
"Not intruding..." she replied. "Quite the opposite, actually..."
She smiled a bit more.
"Ah, my manners... I'm called Scout, and this is my lil' sister Tawny."

Tef smiled at Scout.
"I'm Tefnut, or shortly just Tef" she introduced herself, pointing then at Pulsar.
"He's called Pulsar."
"Nice to meet you all" Scout said, nodding her head slightly as a greeting to each of the three.
"What are you three doing here?" the teal lioness then asked, lifting an eyebrow curiously.

Tawny Grinned again as Misty spoke to her.

"I'm Tawny!"

she said rather ecstatically, poking her chest out proudly before seeing another approach...coming out of the fog was quite a scary thing..but stayed close to her sister, looking back up to her as she heard her name called.

"Errm.....he wassssss......"

Looking up at the new arrival beside Misty as she began to speak to Scout....and then perring under her...looking back into the mist trying to scan the area for Tazani, spotting something bounding up, she grinned as it was clearly Him. Looking back up to Scout.

"there he...." hearing his padded footsteps upon her so fast and be collided into by the other small cub, shoved onto her back with a thud, "ack, geroff!" pawing his face away.

[Katari]

Tazani, had been close to the group all the time, he could hear every word spoken by the others, but had at the time been more pre-occupied with tugging at a loose tree root, he growled as he tugged at it again and again, finally stammering back with it in his mouth, pretty pleased with himself.
His ears perked up as he heard his name said, bounding over through the mist, eyes wide as he came close into view with the back legs of a lepoard...darting through its legs to spot Tawny, grinning and pouncing on her at full speed laughing.

"Gotcya!"

his smile wiped as she pawed at his face wriggling free.

"grrrr"

Shaking his head and jumping off, suddenly aware of a few Lions watching him...blushing a bit, he calmed down and sat where he was, hiding a smirk from the others but letting Tawny see it.

Misteeca smiled. "Nice to meet you Scout, and you too Tawny!" She bowed her head in greeting. "We are out here looking for our 'friends'." She said looking around the foggy swamp. "Well actually it's a whole hunting party... they went out on a hunt and never returned, and we are trying to find them..." She explained it simple to them. She then saw the other cub approach them, Tazani. "I take it he's yours too then.." She said with a little chuckle, watching him and Tawny.

Scout looked down after she heard voices, seeing Tazane had appeared from somewhere. The teal lioness smiled slightly, looking at Misteeca.
"No... Tazani is actually my sister's friend" she said, lifting then an eyebrow.
"A hunting party...?" she said.
"Yes" Tef suddenly said. "Have you seen them around? Would be great help if you had... This jungle is rather... scary..."

Scout smiled slightly.
"Yes, it indeed is..." she said, her smile then faded away.
"Actually... I have seen that group" she continued, letting out a sigh. "I was part of it..."

These words made a surprised expression appear on Tef's face, but since she didn't really know the hunting group that well she chose to stay silent and let someone else take care of the talking.

Tawny got up giggling and laughing, growling playfully at Tazani, before looking surprised back up at Misty, as suddenly her head appeared near Tawny....due to the fact she was bowing, she hopped round ignoring Tazni and gave another big grin up to Misty. The second spoke, Tef, Tawny hopped forward and skidded to a stop, always moving on her feet, she was quite hyper today.

"Hi!!....ohh yer we know them! we trying to find them again!"

"So the little one does talk.." Misteeca mumbled to herself with a little chuckle. She then realized what they had all just said. "So.. you would have been with Aleusha?" She asked excitedly. "My sister.. if you know who i'm talking about." She then sat down. "So.. you are from our pride? It's so big i don't know everyone in it." She said and smiled at Scout.

[Kirsui]

Scout thought for a moment.
"I think there was a lioness called Aleusha..." she said, hearing then how Misteeca said something about the pride being big.
"Oh yes.. I know what you mean" she said, smiling slightly.
"And it's not a wonder you don't know me" she continued. "I usually spent most of my time patrolling on the pride's lands... 'scouting', one could say..."

Tef chuckled slightly. She guessed that Scout was propably a nickname to this teal lioness. But, the liopardess remembered her manners and didn't ask about it.

Tawny, looked around, she let the older ones talk, and kept still during this...sighing and shaking herself a little, paws slipping as she did so, looking around for something to entertain her. She hopped around and ran underneath her sister giggling and running ahead of the group a bit, sniffing around like she had seen her sister do at times. Tawny spotted a small rock and bounded up to it, clambering on top, with huffs and grunts, until she was a-top it, looking back at the others still laughing.

"Cuuuum on!!"

Misteeca smiled. "Well at least she was still with you guys.." She mumbled to herself. She then watched Tawny, who seemed a bit over-excited. "Mind if we join you guys on your search? Or.. you could join us.. whichever you prefer.." She smiled at Tawny, before looking back up at Scout. "If you want that is.."

[Katari]

Tazani watched Tawny bound off, he was quite aware of some watching him, so he tried to act grown up and didn't follow her, he had not really noticed his surroundings that much until now...scanning around the group he asked to no one in particular.

"Why are all these animals sleeping?"

an innocent, curious tone of voice about him.

Scout watched with amusement as her sister walked ahead and stood on a stone. Her attention turned then to Misteeca. She smiled as a reply to her.
"We'd be glad to join you" she said. "Better move in a group than alone... Especially here."
Then Scout heard Tazani's words.

"Why are all these animals sleeping?"

The teal lioness flattened her ears as she turned to look at the cub. She didn't really know how to reply to him without being too scary.
"Tazani..." she started.
"They have been tired, too tired to move around anymore. They will rest, rest untill the end of times. For their spirits have left their bodies and traveled to the Great Kings and Queens of the past, to rest with them."

Scout let out a sigh. She didn't really like the idea of speaking like that, but nothing else had come to her mind. After all, she remembered how her mother had used to speak like that to her when she had been a cub and seen dead animals.

"Great! Well we best get a move on then.. and besides.. i'm not too fond of this place anyway.." She said as a shiver was sent up her spine. Her eyes scanned the area once agai, her eyes now resting on dead ones around them. She then heard Tazani's voice pipe up and brake the silence. She opened her mouth and was about to say somthing, but Scout filled in for her.

Tawny grew impatient and stayed on her perch with a grumpy look upon her face, she went to sit but fell of balance and slipped backwards to fall to the ground with a thud. a small cloud of dust flew up from behind the rock and she grumbled and poked her eyes up over the rock, hoping no-one saw.
She noticed the quizzical expressions of her sister and of Tazani and bounded back over to investigate, catching only a bit of the conversation.

"wow...there lazy...i never get to sleep that long."

Shooting sidewards glances at her sister, before moving closer to one animal that lay off the path, the body slumped in an odd fashion, and had clearly bin this way for a while, its Grey furred body, so dull and lifeless, complimented by the dreary surroundings of the swamp.

[Pulsar]

"Guys? Where is everyone?"
Pulsar shouted through the fog he was walking through, until it dissipated. Listening he heard some voices coming from somewhere in front of him. Frowning he slowly began forcing his way through the thick vegetation before him until he got to the edge. He stumbled out from behind a tree, landing on the ground as a vine had caught his back leg tripping him up.
"Blasted plant, let go!"
He snarled as he cut it with his claw, then stood up. As he looked forward he seen Tef and Misteeca and the others. Composing himself and looking posh, he brushed himself off and held his head up high for a moment, acting as though the plants caused him no trouble. Then head in normal position, he casually walked over to the group.
"Finally made it.... Ummm you guys seen Kep?"
He said curiously then looked at the new company.
"Oh hey there, I'm Pulsar..."
He said smiling.

[Katari]

Tazani, had a stranged face upon him....so they were asleep...they seemed so lifeless..he didnt like it. He saw Tawny creep towards one of them, bracing himself in case one of them jumped up and shouted BOO ...as most adults did. But instead he got a voice across from a diffrent direction, looking across quickly to see The figure of the large towering Lion..he didnt look out of place here....But Tazani wasent scared....

Misteeca turned as she heard Pulsars' voice and laughed quietly when he tripped over. "Yep, that's good old Pulsar alright." She said sweetly with a grin planted upon her muzzle. She then watched as Tawny was investigating one of the bodies. Misty padded over to her quickly and picked her up with her paw. "Lets look at something more pleasant shall we?" She said with a smile and placed the cub on her back. She then returned to Pulsar. "Pulsar this is Tawny." She smiled and placed Tawny on the ground infront of him. "Tawny.. this is Pulsar." She smiled then bent down and whispered into the cubs ear. "Pulsar here likes to play.." She grinned and winked at the cub before lifting her head back up to normal height. She was about to sit down when she heard a rustling sound coming from nearby bushes. (OOC: i will bring in a new character here. ;D )

Tawny peered over the body..going to sniff near it when she was scooped up under her belly "ahww!" she exclaimed as her legs flung around and was plonked down, she found her feet and shook her head, looking up and around to see who had moved her. She saw Misty and giggled, her head snapping back suddenly to see the figure of Pulsar, towering above, her eyes were wide for a moment as he was quite dominating, only managing a small and feebled "hi.."
Her eyes were still glued to Pulsar when she felt the muzzle of Misty in her ear, a small smile appearing across her own lips as she heard the words likes to play.

Tef smiled at Misteeca's words. What ever would happen next should be interesting...
Then her ears perked up as she caught a rustle from the bushes nearby. Her green eyes focused on the bushes, preparing to see what would come out.

Scout smiled at Tawny and Tazani. The cubs were so cute.
'I just hope we would be out of this jungle...' she thought. She was about to say something to Tefnut when she heard the ruslte from the bushes. Scout noticed how Tef turned her eyes to the bushes.
The teal lioness did the same. She took a slow step closer to the bushes.
"Who's there?" she asked on a blank tone of voice, waiting for a possible reply.

Tisha hadn't noticed the nearby groups voices as her paw was caught in a vine. "Oh great.." She mumbled to herself and tried to shake the vine off. This caused her to trip over the vine and send herself flying into a nearby pool of water. She hit the ground with a thud and a splash. Water went flying in all directions. She stood up and shook the water off her dark fur. "Just my luck..." She thought out loud before looking up to see a group standing there. There were two cubs, one male, a strange lion/leopard looking animal and two lioness'. "What are you lookin at?" She asked grumpily, staring at them all.

[Pulsar]

Pulsar had been trying to hear what Misteeca had been saying to Tawny. Unfortunately the fact they were at a distance and that she was whispering made it difficult. He WAS going to ask what she was saying, but it seemed that something had interrupted, namely, something in the nearby bushes. He looked at the others before looking at the bush itself.
<If that's another one of those things, I'm so going to freak...>
He thought, though to his reluctance it wasn't what he was expecting.
"Well at least it isn't of any treat to us..."
He said mocking the lioness slightly as he eyed her over, as if at the same time wondering what she was doing here, though he could have posed that question to anyone of the animals there at the time.

Tawny peered back under Misty to see the Lioness fall into the water, she hid a smirk and looked up at Pulsar, a quizzical look on her face, as she then backed up underneath Misty and turned to go back over to her sis Scout.

"Who's that?"

She said looking up, but also slightly sideways staring at the New Lioness, who seemed pretty grumpy.

[Katari]

Tazani didn't like the new lioness very much...she seemed kinda pushy. He scowled, standing over by Tawny and away from the adults; he stuck his tongue out at the newcomer, but she didn't notice, he hoped. Who cares? He shrugged, grinned, and started to walk away, then stopped -- was that a beetle? Bigger than any beetle he'd ever seen, all blue-and-red, with black spots. He followed it a short ways, watching the ground.

OOC: Short and pointless, yah, but I've never actually posted with Tazani before, lol.
