A Rouge's Journey

[This Land]

Sheek walked up to Seleter,
"Nice to meet you seleter, im Sheek if sombosy hasnt already said"
"Enjoying the sun i see" sheek said Happily

[Kirsui]

"Yeah, well" Seleter said and smiled. This Skeek seemed to be friendly.
"I love sun" she said. "And I love the savannah wind, and the water and..."
She giggled and rolled down the rock, sat down and started to lick her front paw.
"You may call me Seleta" she said looked at Sheek with her light purple eyes.

[This Land]

"Ok seleta" sheek said happily
"cool name by the way"
Sheek walked down the rock and sat down by her, sheek was very Fond of her, even though she was a cheetah, it didnt matter, she seemed a really nice One at that

[Kirsui]

"Yeah, well... It's better than the names my brothers had" Seleter replied and grinned.
"They were something like 'Wind' or 'Storm' - after my dad, I quess. He was kalled 'the king of savannah', a bit boring really... Ofcourse, he wasn't a real king, only the strongest cheetah nearby."
Then Seleter looked into distance. She remembered the time she had been a cub.
"Mom just invented something to be my name. I think it's some sort of tradition. And it's fun to have a name that doesn't mean anything."
Then Seleter smiled. She was shy, and sometimes very protective of herself. But she also liked to talk. And when you are a cheetah, you rarely are able to talk with someone else.

[Pulsar]

“Cheetahs….”
Mino sighed as he walked over and lay down in the shade of a nearby tree. He still wasn’t sure about this.
He decided to sit by and wait for the others. As he sat there he kept his eyes on Seleter. He shifted gaze to see how Memkra was doing with his injury but he looked back at Seleter every so often in case she tried anything.

Maisha smiled at Seleta and Sheek, she was glad they were getting along...
She then saw Mino walk over and lay down under a tree, while muttering something to himself.
Maisha got up and walked over to him.
''Are you ok? You don't seem very fond of cheetahs...'' She said and looked him in the eyes.
''Is there something I should know??'' She wanted him and Seleta to get along.
''She is really nice you know... she wouldn't hurt a fly... unless protecting her friends..''

[Pulsar]

“No, I can’t say I’m fond of cheetahs…. “
He said still watching Seleter. Returning a gaze back at Maisha, Mino frowned slightly.
“Why do I have to trust everyone? I wasn’t aware I needed a reason to not trust someone….”
He finished as he returned to watching Seleter’s movements.
“I’m just being cautious that’s all…”

[Kirsui]

Seleter felt uncomftable. She felt Mino's gaze, locked to watch closely her every movement. She sighed.
"I think you guys don't mind if I take a little walk around" she said carefully keeping her eyes away from Mino. She wasn't scared of that lion, she could always run. She just didn't like to be looked over all the time.
"After all, I am a cheetah, and we need lots of action."
She stood up, streched her self a bit and looked around.
"I'll be back" she said to Sheek, smiled and turned around. She started with walk, then she jogged and finally took a little run through the grass. Oh boy, she loved the feeling of wind blowing throuhg her fur.
Then she stopped and sat on a dead tree that had collased down. She looked the savannah and then the clouds at the sky. She remembered her childhood, her mom and three older brothers. The clouds flew over her.
"How peaceful..." Seleter whispered and smiled. Then an image of her father came.

She had seen the 'king of savannah' only once. She had been very small. Seleter had always been curious and that day she had left to explore the grassy areas. And of course she had lost.
Then an unknown male cheetah had found her. The stranger was about to attack her, kill her. But he was stopped. A huge cheetah had come and chased the other male away. Then he had noticed Seleter and regognized his youngest daughter. He had taken her back home.
Seleter couldn't remember his name. When she had asked it from her mom, she had only said that his name was a some sort of secret. Seleter hadn't understood that, and she still didn't. The only thing her mom had told was that her dad was the 'king of savannah'. At that time Seleter had been excited about that.
Now she thought it was stupid.

Maisha looked at Mino, he really didn't like Seleter..
She walked back over to Sheek and Memkra. She saw Seleter sitting on a tree stump staring up at the sky. SHe sat dwon next to Memkra.
''Are you feeling any better?'' She asked concerned.

[lionloversam]

After examining his paw he said

"yes, thank you. I am just worried about putting weight on it. But, I have to."
Memkra paused for a few minutes
" I will try tomorrow. Hopefully it is only a sprain"

[Kirsui]

Seleter sighed. She turned her gaze away from the clouds and followed the river. She stopped her gaze to a spot where the little river mixed with another one, making one large river. She sighed again and layed on the tree. She put her head on her white paws and stared at nowhere. She was was lonely.
A lion had it's friends around him or her almost all the time. Cheetahs instead are born to be loners. But Seleter didn't like that, she wanted real friends.
"I wish I was a lion" she said and tried to smile faintly. But she couldn't.
Then she gave a quick look at the lions...
And saw Mino.
She stood up, jumpped down the tree and started to walk away from the lions.
They don't need a cheetah, she thought as she walked. She wasn't holding her tail up, like when she's excited or happy. She dragged it after her, showing depression.
Why is it that we are always hated? What have we done wrong?
Seleter didn't even look where she was walking. She just wanted to go away.

'' That's good that you're feeling a bit better.'' Maisha smiled. She turned around and was about to lay down when she saw Seleter walking away from them. She got up and sprinted after her.
''Seleta..... where are you going???'' Maisha yelled out infront of her, still sprinting.
''Seleta.. come back!!!'' Where was this cheetah going??

[Kirsui]

Seleter stopped walking. She sat down and turned her eyes to Maisha.
"Why should I?" she asked. Her voice had no feelings, she was very depressed.
"I'm just a cheetah, a loner" she said and then looked her paws.
"Some times I wish I would have born as a lion" she whispered, keeping her eyes on her paws. Then she continuet with more quiet voice.
"Atleast then I would have real friends around me."

Maisha looked at her. She had felt a feeling of lonleyness once... before Safila was bron, there were no other cubs.

She gave Seleta a big hug.
'' Just because you're a cheeter.. it doesn't meen you can't have friends that are another type of big cat.'' She smiled at Seleta.
'' I'm your friend... Sheek seems to like you.. and i'm sure he'd love to be your friend.. although he hasn't really talked to you. Just because Mino isn't fond of Cheetahs.. doesn't meen the rest of us aren't your friends.''

[Kirsui]

Seleter smiled a bit. Maisha seemed to understand.
"Thanks" she said and kept smiling. Maybe she could have friends that are lions.
"Maybe the proplem is with me" she said after thinking a bit.
"I've always been a loner - if we don't count my childhood. I'm not very used to have anyone around me."

[This Land]

Sheek ran up to Seleter....Out of breath
"You took your time, why did you go off all of a sudden " shee said concerned
"Whats the matter anyway, you seem a bit down"
Sheek lay down next to Seleter and smiled at her

[Kirsui]

Maisha had been right. Sheek really seemed to be a good friend.
Seleter smiled.
"I'm all right now" she said. "I just felt a bit uncomftable, that's all. I'm not very used to company and I, kind of..."
Seleter couldn't continue. She was same time happy and down. Odd feeling for her, who usually became excited of everything.
Then she saw Sheeks conserned expression and the happines won. She gave him a big smile. Then suddenly she yawned.
"Sorry..." she said. "I woke up early today. Makes me tired."

[This Land]

Sheek chuckled and smiled and raised a brow
"kind of what?" he said
sheek stared at Seleter and smiled again

[Kirsui]

"Well..." she said and thought a bit before continueing.
"The truth is that I somehow decited to continue my travell to nowhere" she said and yawned again. Then she looked to the grassy horizon of savannah.
"But I decited to stay here with you guys atleast some time."
Then she spotted out a large, dark stone and jumpped on it. Then she lay down and looked to others, yawning... again!
"Sorry. I really must get some sleep. And so should you. There's no point to continue the travel just yet, Memkra needs some rest."
And so do I... she thought. Then Seleter smiled and closed her eyes. Yes, sleep would do fine.

[This Land]

"I agree"
sheek layed down by the side of the large rock, he liked company
"what about you Maisha" sheek said gently

[Pulsar]

Mino looked over at the others as they went to rest, they were out of earshot so he wasn’t sure what they were saying, but he was pretty sure it had to do with the cheetah. He looked over at Memkra checking to see if he was ok, then he looked back at the others.
“Looks like the others are going to sleep…. You should probably rest to Memkra, you’ll need your rest if that wound is to heal nice and good…”
Mino said in a slightly caring gesture.
As he looked at the others his mind began pondering.
Maybe I was a bit too hard on her…. I’ll give it time, see what she does, THEN I’ll be happy in knowing if I should consider her friend or foe….
It looked like it was going to be a long night, and Mino had every intention of staying up through it to make sure everyone is safe as they sleep. After all someone had to stand guard during the night.

''Yea sure... i'm a bit tired anyway..'' She said and walked over and lay on a tree stump where the sun shone down onto her golden fur. Maisha was glad that Seleter had decided to stay with them... well for now anyway. She looked over at Mino. She didn't like him being lonely so got up from her spot and padded over to him.
'' Hey... '' She said.. hoping what she said before wouldn't effect anything.
She didn't say anything else, just lay down next to him and drifted off to sleep.

[Pulsar]

Mino looked at Maisha slightly confused and shocked as she walked up and lay near him. He certainly wasn’t expecting it out of all things. His expression was short lived though as he looked away once he realised he was going red slightly. He looked out at the distance and at the other members of the group, trying to find something to occupy his mind with.
He wasn’t used to spending the night in the company of other animals, normally he’d go off and find a nice spot to rest, then again he never stayed with those animals, but if he was going to stay with this group, it looked like he have to go about things differently then he normally did.

[Kirsui]

Slowly Seleter woke up. She opened her eyes and saw others asleep. She smiled, streched her self and stood up. Then she jumpped of the stone she had been laying on and walked to the river. There she took a long drink.
Then she looked up to the other side of the river...
And saw antelopes.
She stopped moveing and stared at the animals. Because of the long grass they hadn't spottet her - or the lions - yet. She looked to the river. It wasn't very deep.
If she would try what she had in mind, she might get a tasty breakfast.
Or lose it.

Seleter jumpped to the water with a big splash. The voice made the antelopes frightnend and they started running. Seleter reached the other side and spotted one youngling. She took aim and started to reach the poor little one. The pack was so scared and that little one had lost it's mom. With a huge jump she catched the antelope. She sticked to it with her claws and collapsed down on it. Then she started to bite it's neck.
When it stopped kicking she let go and started to eat. She hadn't realized how hungry she actually was. And when she had eaten enough she started dragging the bodu thowards the lions.

[This Land]

Sheek woke up and stood up slowly, sudden shock came into sheek as he saw seleter gone
sheek stood up fully and looked around, he was reliefed when he saw her wlaking back, and with a antelope
He ran thorugh the river and met up with her
"Hey there seleta, good morning, nice to see you are up and active" he smiled

[Kirsui]

Seleter dropped the body and smiled.
"I just couldn't let the chance to hunt go."
Then she walked to the river and took a drink.
"Feel free to eat, if you're hungry" she said.
That was odd. Rarely a cheetah gives it's preay to a lion from it's own will.

[This Land]

sheek smiled
"thankyou seleta"
sheek looked into seleter's eyes, yeah she may be a cheetah but a very nice one at that
"right, how do we get the antelope across the river" he laughed

[Kirsui]

Seleter lifted her head and looked the river.
"Um... I don't know" she said. Then she grinned.
"Maybe you could carry it acros" she joked.

[lionloversam]

Memkra woke up and looked around while softly smacking his lips. Temporarily forgetting about his injury, he tried to stand up quickly. At this effort he felt a dull, but strong pain in the muscle and quickly remembered what had happened. He was determined to stand though. So, he applied all the weight to the good legs and slowly made his way to a upright sitting position. holding the injured paw up he looked around. And decided to make a attempt to walk. Hopping up on to his three good legs, Memkra temporalily lost balance, but gained it back. Then started testing how much weight he could put on his injured leg, hoping nobody was watching.

Maisha yawned and opened her eye. She looked next to her. Mino was still asleep, she'd wait till he was awke before she left him, just incase he woke up and thought she'd left him.
She looked around and saw Memkra... waddling around on three legs.
''Having fun Mem?'' She said jokingly. ''How's that leg?'' She said and smiled. Maisha looked around a bit more and saw Sheek and Seleter.
''Did you catch that Seleta??'' Maisha said. She'd never seen a cheetah hunt before, although she had always wanted to... she loved watching them run.
