Shade sighed and said ''They survive chasing everything they find....and the water don't run well as the water of the Pridelands''

"What happens when there is no water or food; do you just starve?usuki sleepily respons with half closed eyes

Shade smiled and said ''Well, they eat bones or rest of death elephants that cames to die in the Elephant Graveyard''

"That sounds awful" a heavy yawn pauses usuki for a moment. He closes his eyes."Do lions take baths? And is it with mud or dirt?"

Shade nodded and then said ''Yup, i take baths with...er... just go to asleep now''

"But i wanna "... the sound of quiet came over the sleeping gazelle

Shade saw how the cub fall asleep she licked it's head and whispered ''Good night little one, sleep well''

Usuki soundly slept while the lioness remained awake

Shade was still awake by the way she knew that the hyenas won't come, Shade, used her claw to mark the entrance of the cave
to warn the hyenas that there was prey, yes but at the same time a lioness inside the cave.

the gazelle dreamily mumbled in his sleep, turned once once his side and slept away again.

All would have been an uneventful night for Shade during her watch, had it not been for a Pridelander limping her way across the savanna under the starry night. Atiya had ran into a small pack of brutish wild dogs and, having underestimated them due to their insults and challenges, was sore from their bites during the brawl. None of the dogs were slain, but more than a few would likely know better than to try to pick fights with a lioness from that point on, even an adolescent like her. Even so, some of them threatened to get back at the big cat as they fled.

That said, the lioness was too tired from the late night to try and find the flora needed for a medicinal balm that could ease her aches and pains. As much as she wanted to attend to her potential wounds, she needed to find a place to stay for the night, lest the haughty dogs follow through with their threats to attack again.

Her wanderings led her to a cave, guarded by another lioness. Atiya was too far away to notice the markings Shade had scratched before her den... and was it just her, or was the other lion's fur an abnormally dark color? Teeth grit from her pained movements, she picked up her pace and approached Shade, greeting, "Good evening! Forgive me, but I have a favor to ask if you've got the time?"

Shade was sleeping, as a weird sound, she got up with her claws unsheathed, her claws where large and dangerous, as another lioness arrived
Shade's red-fire eyes glowed, she could feel the pain of the lioness Shade flicked her tail and said ''Hello there, i'am Shade, what that favor that you need?'' Shade stood in front of Usuki, her fur was bristling, for any move that could the lioness do, Shade didn't trust anyone apart of Usuki and her half-brother Dark, that was out searching for prey,

Atiya was no stranger to lions with odd-colored eyes; her own were a dark blue-violet color. But the striking color of Shade's red eyes, paired with her black fur, caught her off-guard. Atiya could assess that this one was being defensive over something, but what? She didn't see Usuki behind her, and to the adolescent she came off as merely territorial.

"I don't mean to intrude", Atiya opened, "Nor to wake you from your sleep. But, I'd gotten into a bit of trouble with some wild dogs recently, and I'm not entirely sure I'd be safe trying to get some rest out here for now, at least not by myself". She sighed. "So what I'm asking is, would it be okay if I rested here in your den till morning, to try and lay low?"

Shade's fur stop bristling, she looked her back, glancing at Usuki with worried eyes, she looked back to the new lioness and responded ''You weren't intruding, but be careful next time, i'm more than just a normal lioness....However, i will let you to sleep here as long as you want, but if you try to kill Usuki
i will shred you apart'' Shade showed her larger claws, reinforced with her black magic.

She signaled a little bed close to Usuki but, she was sleeping with Usuki as she looked at the lioness wounds she said ''Lay down, and wait i have some herbs that i could use to fix yor wounds'' She got on her paws and walked towards a little desk that contained many herbs for wounds.

Mafisadi scurried along the ground with haste, a sly and mischievous grin marking the small, brown Jerboa's face. Every day was a fun day for the small rodent. Every day a new day to scheme and plan a new prank or trick. Not any so far that would endanger another or risk harm. No they were harmless by their nature but he enjoyed them no less. To always get back at the bigger animals making fun of him and have fun at the same time with little to no risk? It was a dream come true for this little furred menace as his eyes and ears hurriedly scanned the areas for potential victims.

Yet it would be his nose that would lead him towards the potential of fresh discovery. He couldn't quite put his finger on it but it was a familiar scent. If he turned out to be wrong? Hardly mattered, it only meant a fresh new face to joke around with as he followed the scent to its location. His mind running about with excitement and swirling with anticipation. What was he to do on this day? Mimic a predator to the best of his ability? Make random noises? Play hide and seek? Oh the possibilities were truly endless. The rodent continued his march onward, fueled almost solely by the intent to have his fun at the slight expense of others.

He didn't explicitly try to do it in a mean spirited way but it was way too fun to simply stop. The rodent would be led to a cave from which the scents would seemingly whisk out occasionally. To his welcome surprise, his ears even picked up the faint sounds of voices emanating from the inside. None of his pranks or tricks would work anywhere near as well as they tended to however if he took a straight up approach. No, instead the Jerboa would sneak inside. He would find holes, or cracks outside and on the side of the cave if need be to gain his entry. He needed his silence, safety and security. "Aha, gotcha" he would whisper to himself in celebration as he entered through a small passage way crack. A bit less open ended than favored but still enough for him to maneuver around some from place to place. Once inside he would press his eyes to search around for the inhabitants of the said cave. He needed to know what he was dealing with.

Rubbing his digited paws together, a new smile and suppressed chuckle escaping his lungs as he spied upon the source of his excitement. Lions. Oh he loved lions. Dangerous? Yes. Fun? Ever more so. They were the biggest of the big, at least as far as the pridelands went with regards to the whole circle of life thing, though neither of them seemed to be pride landers from what he could tell. Mafisadi was a bit reserved however about the presence of the sleeping gazelle. The Injured lion was also of some minor concern but the gazelle needed to be ferried to safety before the lioness's presumably ate him! Now...he just needed to figure out how to do that.

Atiya herself wasn't quite as normal as some herself, and could sense the strange air to Shade's black magic. She didn't want to instigate another fight, and was just fine as far as food went. Besides, she wasn't one to go after the young even if starved. It was curious that the young gazelle was with this fierce lioness but she didn't question it, and hoping Shade wasn't going to just save the small critter for breakfast, she nodded. "Right then, you've got my word I won't harm... Usuki, was it? I'm bad with names..."

Thus she trotted over, albeit slowly, to the bed close by Shade motioned to. My journeys just keep getting more and more strange, she thought to herself as she looked over at the desk where Shade was gathering the herbs. From a cursory glance it seemed that Shade knew the right sorts of herbs to use. Even so, it wasn't long before Atiya was a bit distracted, sensing a different animal scent in the air even if faintly. "Hmph. Um, Shade? Do you... do you smell something rodent in the air? Just curious..."

The Jerboa's ears flicked at the mention of rodent. Leave it to lions to be hard to sneak up upon and ruin all the fun. He'd retreat further into his crevice while keeping an ear out for any further developments. The promise of no harm seemed to lighten the situation, though he wasn't sure he was completely sold on the matter. Even if he was, he'd been aching to prank someone. It'd been days since he pulled off a good joke or so and lion or not no one was going to stop him!

Maybe he could make some noise outside? Or mimic a hyena laugh? They probably might not fall for the second one and even if the first one worked, what good would it do if the gazelle was still here. If someone, somewhere was bound on testing the limits of this small rodent they were certainly doing a good job. Mafisadi was feeling no less than challenged by powers above though no less eager to accept their challenge if it was so. Noise looking like the increasingly better option as he awaited further conversation before finalizing a decision.

Usuki flopped onto his other side, still dreaming happily.

Shade, caught some cobwebs, she walked to Atiya and started to put a cobweb in each wound, made by coyotes, she remembered that throught her travel to the
Pridelands, she fight a little group of them, Shade killed two of them but the others escaped, bleeding until the death, as Atiya spoke out of a sctench
her nose started to move, Shade frown with displeasure, she know what was scent, she looked at a hole located almost on the entrance of the cave.

She used her dark magic to, make a long herb grown and get on the hole, the plant, got a rat, she grunted, in disgust, then showed her dangerous and large teeths and said ''What are you doing?, trying to sneak here and stole something? I always knew that you was here, i could feel your pathethic aura, it felt thet you wanted to make a type of dirty trick'', she snarled, Shade caught the rat with her paw, by the rat's neck.

Mafisadi despite listening intently could not quite put a finger on their intentions. He could tell they were at very least vaguely aware of his presence and didn't seem too happy about it. Though if the Jerboa had known how "special" this particular pair of lions in he may have never approached the cave in the first place. It wasn't quite the same to try and pull pranks or tricks if the creature that was your target knew of them in advance.

Such worries however quickly became a thing of the past as he found himself wrapped and spirited away towards the hole leading towards the lioness's. He would utter a few frantic squeaks in surprise before being mostly silenced by a paw a pair of angry eyes and some quite large teeth. "Me? Steal? Tricks? On Lions? I wouldn't dream of it." Mafisadi blurted out, apparently missing the whole magic part of the ordeal just a few seconds ago in a forgetful panic. "Nothing really here looks useful to me anyway...ahem, so if you'll just put me down I'll be out of your fur in a jiffy. I mean come on now really, what could someone like me even do to someone like you? Lets be honest now."

Watching the exchange as the jerboa was caught, Atiya's ears folded as Shade threatened the would-be trickster. He definitely gave away an intent to steal from the shadow-clad lioness, but Atiya wasn't the type to take the paws of failed thieves when caught. "Ma'am, if I may?" Atiya replied. "We already caught the little punk; I'd say we just let him off with a warning this time..."

Mafisadi would likely take offense to being called a thief. He didn't steal from others. He was just a prankster. "I'm no thief!" the small rodent would protest as he attempted to muscle his way free, though clearly outmatched from an intimidation standpoint. "You don't even look to have anything worth it anyway..."

In this case it could be argued to some level that he was in fact, trying to steal something. Though it was not potions, physical items or magic stuffs. Rather it was Usuki whom he viewed as not in the best of situations atm. Still, he hardly viewed stealing a cub from what he saw as potential diners as a theft worth questioning his conscious for.

As Atiya spoke, Mafisadi would say nothing, waiting for her before chiming in. A warning was good after all. It'd meant that, at the very least he'd have a second chance. Hopefully one he wouldn't blow so easily. "Yea! What she said. Listen to her she knows what she's talking about." he'd contend in his defense, eyes darting back and forth between the hole, a glimpse of Usuki and the lionesses themselves.

Shade bared her fierce and long teeth at the rodent, her eyes glared with fire and fury then growled ''Fine, i'll let you go, but beware the next time i see you here, i will rip your fur off'' she dropped the rodent and snarled ''Now go!'' Shade was grumpy, but she most of her childhood was happy but all that changed after her family died, infront of her eyes, she only trusted Usuki and her brother, Dark, her thoughts where interrupted by some paces, from another lion, Shade stared outside, and saw her brother, shadow. Dark entered , into the cave and said ''Hello, Shade, i see we have some, guests, little sister'' Shade nuzzled her brother. As her brother say everything, he needed she flicked her tail, in some parts, when Dark started to greet Atiya, i a flirty way she embarassed, said ''She's Atiya, another memeber of a different Pride, as you know you and i belong into the Dark Pride, now go to asleep''

Dark had been out, while Shade was in cave, he didn't know yet that they have some guests, Dark hadn't find any prey, so he decided that he will be back to take care of her sister, as he came back and get in the cave he said ''Hello, Shade, i see we have some, guests, little sister'' Shade nuzzle him, in greeting, he licked his ear and said ''I just had been one day out, and we already have guests, anyways...do you have found out how to get in the Pridelands?'' Shade nodded and said ''The gazelle named, Usuki, will vouch for us, to let us join the Pride'' Dark nodded and said ''Good'' as Dark looked at Atiya he said ''Hey there, what's your name?'' He looked at Atiya, like he was flirting with her, Shade got infront and said ''She's Atiya, another memeber of a different Pride, as you know you and i belong into the Dark Pride, now go to asleep'' Dark grinned at Atiya and and lay down in a little bed, he fall asleep.

Atiya turned immediately to face the other shadow-furred lion that arrived, surprised to see more than one with such a striking pelt color. She grinned sheepishly back at Dark as he went to doze off, then turned her attention back to Mafisadi. She seemed reluctant to let him go, but decided to not interfere with Shade's judgment. She, however, couldn't help but let the jerboa go off with another type of warning.

"Ah, small one", she said, motioning her head toward Mafisadi. "If you're going out there, try to stay alert. I myself ran into some wild dogs not far from here, looking to cause trouble. They mean business. Roughed me up, they did". She decided to conveniently neglect that she fell for their egging her on to fight them, but still. "Just be careful getting your nose into the wrong kind of business". She thought for a moment, and added, "Uhhh... may the Eye of Ra watch over you. Or something".

Usuki flopped to his other side, the clack of his hooves echoed in the cave.

As the Jerboa hit the ground with a little plop, he began to re fuzz and dust his fur off briefly. His neck was still a bit sore and his pride was somewhat hit but his determination was evermore. As Atiya began to warn him of "dangers" he could only offer a sighed response, almost rolling his eyes in the process. "Yea...I get it. Big scary things that could get me. I'm not really new to this whole be careful thing trust me, it's the story of my life." he'd reply in an unamused manner as he briefly shook to de-dust himself. "Thanks for your concern anyway" he'd add rather bluntly as he began to exit through his local hole.

The clack of hooves from behind him and in the cave confirming to him what he'd come here to do. As his first attempted had shown however, it was easier said that done. Clearly he couldn't hang around near this hole or probably any other hole for that matter. They seemed to pick up his scent all too easy. Not to mention that as much as the Gazelle had concerned him, he had no desire nor intention to end up on an Daily menu of any sorts. Mafisadi would need somewhere quite, but nearby to refocus his efforts and with that in mind he'd scurry off, probably to a nearby rock pile away from the cave, or a depression in the ground somewhere. Anything that could keep him "underground" or at least out of sight for the time being.

Usuki sleepily awoke to find more bodies in the cave. Were they friendly?usuki thought to himself, he closed his eyes and pretended to sleep.

The African Wild Dog traveled along the hot lands of Africa. Lotus had been traveling for days without a pack, it was hard on a single dog on the Savannah. But she did just fine. Lotus continued on, but water's becoming an issue. She sighed, it wasn't good if she collasped from heat exhaustion. Lotus nearly barked with joy when she came across a fallen tree. There was an open hole that she could squeeze into.

Lotus allowed herself a few minute's rest and slowly drifted into a nap.

Oh, who is this? The gazelle peeked out from his hiding spot in the den.
Hello! What are you doing here stranger?
The gazelle looked quizzically at the new face.
