As soon as the warmth of the morning Sun reached Phyllon’s pelt, he began his ritual of waking up, slowly stretching his limbs and yawning widely. He noticed the damp soil beneath his paws from the rain the past night had brought, which made a smile draw on his muzzle as he opened his eyes. He just loved rain, a preference he differed from other lions, although he could not explain it himself. Rain just made him feel happy.
When he had found a good puddle and lapped the water a few times with his tongue for a drink, the cub looked around to see the other members of his new pride, which had just recently adopted him. He realized that no one else had awakened yet, so his eyes had been the first to receive that beautiful morning. Phyllon was the youngest lion in this pride, formed almost exclusively by adolescents. He was still the only one who had yet to reach the age to be considered one, but on the two days he has been with them they had treated him as an equal, something he felt very welcoming despite the difference in size and age.
The cub’s stomach began to rumble as he realized that he was hungry. He wanted so badly for at least one of the others to wake up and see if they can hunt something for breakfast. He first approached Mahali, who still snored very deeply. He sat down in front of his muzzle and gently poked the adolescent lion’s nose.
“Umm… Mahali?” he said shyly. “Wake up…”
Mahali just twitched his nose, but kept on snoring.
“Come ooon! The Sun’s out and I’m so hungry now. Please wake up?”
Phyllon poked him again… but there was still no response. The cub pouted.
“WAKE UP!” he shouted, coming out louder than he really intended to.

She was so beautiful. Mahali felt like he was floating, his heartbeat steady, but strong. He followed the lioness as she sashayed ahead of him. A light breeze swept through his mane and the scent of all kinds of flowers filled the air. The full moon lit their ascent up a hill where flower petals swirled around and butterflies fluttered about. Finally, they reached the top of the hill. Mahali and the alluring lioness sat face to face. She nuzzled his nose playfully.
“Umm… Mahali?” Her voice was soft.
"Yes?" He almost couldn't wait to hear what she had to say.
“Wake up…”
Mahali paused. "What?"
The lioness got closer, her lips right next to his ear.
“Come ooon! The Sun’s out and I’m so hungry now. Please wake up?”
He looked up at the moon, now very confused. "I... what?"
_____________________________________________________________________
“WAKE UP!”
Mahali half gasped, half yelled. All at once, his ears were assaulted by Phylons voice, he was blinded by the sunlight, the swirly feeling in his stomach was gone, and he suddenly felt damp all over. Right in front of him was Phylon, the cub that joined their little group. In an instant, Mahali's expression went from surprised to disappointment.
The adolescent lion rolled over, away from the cub. "Mmmmph go away..." He muttered frustratingly.
Why did it have to be a dream? Why do the best things only happen in my dreams? Why- Why am I wet? Oh yeah, it rained last night. Mhali's stomach growled, interrupting his throughts.
"HmmmMMMmm, ok, ok." He groand and muttered as he lifted himself with his front paws. Strands of his mane, still damp from the rain clung to his forehead and dangled in front of his eyes. With one paw, he simultaneously pushed them back and rubbed his eyes. At least hunting would be an opportunity to get away for a while.

Pyrex's eyes shot open as Phyllon's vocalization rang in his ears. He noticed the wet around where he was sleeping, his spotted pelt darker than normal due to the water it had absorbed from the ground. He rose rather quickly, stretching his limbs and shutting his eyes for a mighty yawn before looking over to Mahali as he awoke. He chuckled a bit as the lion removed the pieces of his mane that were sticky with water from his forehead.
Pyrex smiled as he watched the two lions. Pyrex had been in this pride for a while now and he felt as if he would never leave. Ever since that night -- which felt so long ago -- he had never been one to place his trust in others. This group was different though and his love for his de-facto brethren was intense. He would give anything for these two, even though the younger had just joined their small circle.
Before his thoughts could continue, his empty stomach growled to match that of the others. "I'm hungry too!" he exclaimed as he strut over to the others. "Come on Mahali, let's go!"

"Mmmmph go away..." Mahali muttered and rolled away from Phyllon. The cub cocked his head and let out a little snort.
Are grown-ups always this lazy? He thought. He remained sit on his haunches balancing his tail from side to side, considering jumping over the adolescent and pulling his ears if he didn’t get up. But within a minute later Mahali decided to rise on his paws.
"HmmmMMMmm, ok, ok." He groaned, making Phyllon smile and think how Mahali saved himself from being mercilessly nagged. The cub waited until he uncovered his eyes from his damp mane strands to talk.
“’Morning, Mahali” he laughed nervously. “Sorry to wake you up. Are you hungry? Wanna go for some hunting? I mean, I know I can’t hunt, but you can if you’re hungry, right? And maybe we can share? Can we? Please?” The cub was almost jumping excitedly, but upon noticing Mahali’s grogginess, he sat down again and flattened his ears. He wasn’t used to life in an adolescents’ pride yet, food had always been handed to him at the right time by his mother before she died, but now that he lived with lions he still didn’t know well, he wasn’t so sure about how the hunting roles worked.
“…I’m hungry.” He said, more humbly this time.
"I'm hungry too!" A voice said from afar. "Come on Mahali, let's go!" It was Pyrex, the group’s cheetah. Phyllon smiled widely as he saw him, Pyrex had been very nice to him since the moment they met, helping him adapt and feel comfortable within the pride almost immediately. Seeing him up and ready to go hunting with Mahali, the cub felt the day was set for a good start.

“Sorry to wake you up. Are you hungry? Wanna go for some hunting? I mean, I know I can’t hunt, but you can if you’re hungry, right? And maybe we can share? Can we? Please?”
Phyllon fired questions at Mahali faster than he could process them in his grogginess. "Yeah, yeah, sure. Just gimme a minute." Mahali said as he stretched. If only there was some magic juice he could drink every morning to wake him up and get his day going. Waking up wasn't Mahali's most graceful time of day. He shuffled a few steps forward and stretched his hind legs as Phyllon spoke again, this time a bit softer.
"I'm hungry."
"I'm hungry too!" Came Pyrex's voice. "Come on Mahali, let's go!"
Mahali began to walk towards Pyrex. "Me too. Let's see what-" Mahali couldn't finish his sentence. He was interrupted by the pain of stubbing his toe on a large rock. The next words that came to his mind were stopped, thankfully, by his paw covering his mouth. Phyllon certainly didn't need to learn any new words from Mahali today. The dark maned lions eyes watered and he lurched forward, trying to continue his pace with a stubbed toe on his right hind foot and a paw on his mouth, which he was now biting to keep from shouting every word he didn't learn from his parents. Exasperated groans left his throat before they turned into words.
Through clenched teeth, he growled, "I'm okay let's go." The words came out quickly as if to keep from letting any other words out.

Pryex gave a glance to the young cub with his red eyes shining in the early light before trotting over and giving Phyllon a playful nudge with his head. As Mahali approached the pair his speech was suddenly cut as his faced twisted into a grimace. Thinking quickly, Pyrex covered Phyllon's ears with his paws just as the older lion did with his mouth hoping to save the young cub from learning any more... less than appropriate vocabulary.
As the pained noises echoed from the lion's throat Pyrex couldn't help but give a small chuckle at the misfortune of his friend. "Schadenfreude" the cheetah whispered to the lion cub as he removed his paws; that was a word he was happy to teach the young one. "Are you alright?" Pyrex asked as Mahali began to clench his teeth. "I'm okay let's go" he replied with a growl as Pyrex followed closely behind, his stomach vocally agreeing with the motion.

A little further away from the group laying on higher land was Destiny, the female adolescent of the pride. She had woken up alot earlier on so decided to keep watch over the group while cleaning her white pelt from last nights sleep. Her ears twitched and she lifted her head as she heard sleepy morning conversation, which normally consists of being hungry. She cracked a smile as of course it was Phyllon to mention food first and going on about it to Mahali. She fixed her eyes on Mahali for a bit somehow being amused at his wake up ritual, she then squinted with a smile when he stubbed his toe on a rock.
After a big stretch and a yawn she made her way down to the group "Morning everyone" she greeted "To assist in your search, I was watching a small herd of antelope before sunrise, they went out of sight through the bush just a little distance from over the hill I was on." she motioned with her muzzle. "I would of hunted for us at that time, but didn't wanted to leave fresh meat laying around until you all woke up, you know how attracting it can be to other predators or scavengers" she explained.
Her being awake for a while already and mentioning food herself made her stomach let out an abnormal loud growl in which she briskly lowered her head and cleared her throat.

Right after greeting Pyrex, Phyllon twitched his ears upon seeing Mahali stubbing his toe with a rock. He was about to ask him if he was alright, but a pair of spotted paws squished his head covering his ears before he could said anything. Whatever words were going to come out of that muzzle, the cub supposed it was probably best for him not to hear them. Thankfully no new bad language was learned.
“Schadenfreude” Pyrex whispered in his ear. Phyllon blinked a few times, confused, but then he chuckled.
They were all joined by the white lioness, Destiny, who greeted them and pointed the group towards a herd of antelope she had seen. Antelope did sound perfect for a first meal that morning, he licked his lips at the thought.
Everyone was already getting prepared for the hunt. Phyllon knew the pride was small and they needed all the support they could get when hunting, but he didn’t like the idea of staying behind alone waiting for them to return, especially since he was still new to the group. The last time they didn’t go too far to hunt for his own safety, but he still felt a little lonely being the only cub. He addressed them with this in mind.
“Hey guys… can I go with you just this time? I won’t interfere, I promise." He asked shyly. "I just want to see how you do it… if… if that’s ok?”

And there was Destiny. The graceful, overachieving antithesis to Mahali's clumsy, lazy morning. While Mahali was lazing about, wishing for more time to sleep and maiming himself in the process of getting up, Destiny was already in the process of getting food.
""Morning everyone. To assist in your search, I was watching a small herd of antelope before sunrise, they went out of sight through the bush just a little distance from over the hill I was on."
Well, at least it made things easier for everyone else. "Alright, so... lead the way I guess." Mahali said as he stretched the toes on his hurt foot.
“Hey guys… can I go with you just this time? I won’t interfere, I promise. I just want to see how you do it… if… if that’s ok?”
Mahali looked at the others, not really wanting to be the one to make that decision.

Pyrex looked to Destiny as she informed the group of her preparations. He smiled and greeted her as she joined the rest of the pride and snickered slightly as her stomach growled in accordance with their own. Destiny was a proud figure to whom Pyrex respected greatly and her achievements this morning only served to bolster that feeling.
Before the spotted feline could continue getting lost in his thought a small voice emanated from behind him.
“Hey guys… can I go with you just this time? I won’t interfere, I promise. I just want to see how you do it… if… if that’s ok?”
Pyrex's red eyes lit with what looked like dancing flames as the cub posed his question; he had always wanted to bring Pyhllon along for the hunt. "I say we should let him come along!" he exclaimed joyfully as his ears perked up, "It's about time Phyllon accompanied us on a hunting trip. We could show him the ropes and everything!" Consciously working to calm his excitement he looked to Mahali and Destiny, looking for approval: "That is if it's alright with you two..."

"Sure." Mahali said with a shrug. It might be nice to have the whole group along for the hunt this time. He turned back and began walking in the direction Destiny had come from. He was beginning to catch the scent of antelope and continued to follow his nose.
Soon, the group came to a hill. Judging by the scent, Mahali could tell that the herd they had been tracking was just on the other side. As he crept up to the top, it turned out that the hill was just a slope that lead up to a plateau of sorts where the antelope were grazing. Keeping his head down, Mahali looked back at the others and motioned with his head towards the antelope.

Phyllon’s eyes glittered with gratitude to Pyrex, then he looked towards the others with a hopeful big grin on his muzzle.
“Sure,” Mahali replied with a shrug. That’s all Phyllon needed to hear.
“Alriiight!!!” He jumped excitedly. “Thanks, I can’t wait to see you guys in action!”
Moments afterwards he saw Mahali following a scent that he thought was the antelope herd’s trail. The cub dedicated a smile back to Pyrex, as if telling him with his mind to watch him, then he followed Mahali imitating all of his movements. He reached the top of the hill and froze solid when Mahali looked back to motion the others with his head. Phyllon looked ahead and spotted a bunch of antelopes grazing not too far from them. He quickly crouched behind a patch of grass and smiled with furrowed eyebrows, not losing his stare in the antelopes’ direction.

Destiny stayed to the back of the group making sure no-one was being left behind, she could hear the excited statments coming from Pyllon which made her crack a smile. It reminded her of herself in her happy cubhood when hunting with Mum and Dad, which lead her onto thinking about them and wondering how they are doing since she decided to leave and live her own life. One day she hoped they would meet again
Destiny shook her head out of her inner thoughts and continued to watch the group ahead. When she seen the others charge forward she would immediately sneak around and flank the prey to either slow them down or change direction to make it a better chance for a successful kill.
"Ready when you are, i will make sure its easier for you when you go on the run" she said with a quite tone.

Pyrex saw Phyllon's excited smile and reciprocated similarly. He had already had his eyes glued on the cub at this point, curious as to how he would take to the hunt. He allowed the young lion to take the second position in the small hunting party followed by himself and Destiny afterwards. It wasn't long before he looked up to Mahali's motioning and his eyes connected with their prey. As vicariously excited as he was the spotted feline couldn't keep his mind or eyes from wandering upwards into the could. Their dark gray hue reminded him that the storm had not fully passed from the night before.
Pyrex shook his head swiftly, trying to keep focused on the situation at hand. "On your go" he said in a hushed but energetic tone to the front of the stack.

"On your go" "Alright. Remember. Try to surround them." Mahali whispered, then glanced at Phyllon, giving him a nod to let him know what he was supposed to do. Mahali waited a few seconds for the antelope to get a little closer to them, then, in a flash, charged forward. A flash of lightning split the sky far away, casting a faint, strangely bluish-purple light on the area. Seconds later, the crack of thunder broke the silence. Behind the typical growl that thunder produces, another odd sound accompanied it. Mahali ignored it, deciding that food was more important at the moment and that it was probably his imagination. The incoming storm scared the antelope away before they even saw Mahali. He gave chase, now farther behind than he had hoped, trusting that the others were close behind. A second flash of violet lightning lit up the sky, almost immediately followed by another clap of thunder, again, a strange noise accompanied the thunder. The sky groaned above them and Mahali felt his stomach drop. A sudden pang of fear ripped through him and he slowed to a walk and stopped, now raising his eyes to the sky. The antelope were gone, leaving the hunters behind. Mahali looked back at them, filled with a dread he could not explain. "Something is very wrong."A few moments later, a bright flash of white and purple struck the ground in the middle of the group. The bright pillar zig zagged between them all, arcing and spidering out towards them all. Parts of the clouds above lit up with a sickly pale blue.

"Alright. Remember. Try to surround them." Mahali whispered.
Phyllon caught the glance he gave him and nodded back in agreement. He strayed away from Mahali to his right to circle around the antelope group, keeping his body low. Phyllon’s excitement grew even more, he wasn’t planning on actually attacking an antelope, and with his size he simply wouldn’t stand a chance, but if an antelope suddenly tried to escape his way, he would surely try to halt it with a scare for someone else to take it down. He didn’t expect the others would let him get this involved in the hunt, especially at his young age, and there was no way he would screw up this amazing chance.
Mahali began the chase towards the antelope, and Phyllon prepared himself to follow, but a loud thundering sound startled him, and he became distracted by looking up to the sky. The thunder had produced an unnatural violet light he had never seen before.
“Whoooa!” he expressed in awe as more lightning cracked from the clouds. He turned to look in Mahali’s direction and noticed that he had fully stopped, frozen in fear. Phyllon’s initial excitement fell down, and now he lowered his ears, worried.
“Mahali?… That's just a thunder... r-right?”
“Something is very wrong.”
Phyllon wasn’t prepared for the bright flash that suddenly struck the ground in the middle of everyone. A purple beam from the lightning hit him on his flank and sent him flying a few meters away with a blast, making him land on a small puddle nearby. A ringing noise resounded in his ears as his consciousness slowly faded away.

Destiny kept her distance behind the group so she could keep to her plan of flanking the prey as they charged forward, she lowered her body down to the ground and waited patiently. Suddenly her eyes filled with a blueish purple light in the distance followed by a rumble of thunder, she immediately got confused as it wasn't the storm season yet and the current weather didn't coincide with this. She didn't like the look of this at all and the fact that they were also in open land which isnt a good idea when lightning is present.
She started briskly running to the group to get them to cancel the hunt but her heart dropped as she seen Mahali give chase, just before another another fierce flash of violet pounded the ground followed by a loud clap of thunder. She felt the vibration go all through the ground and sent shivers down her spine, she didn't like this feeling at all.
Destiny let out a quick snappy roar
"Mahali, we need to get out of the open, right now !" she yelled.
Certain instinct took over and Destiny started to run towards Pyllon as he had held back a bit and he was a cub. She had almost got to him but just before she could the next thing she saw was Mahali getting struck by the lighting! Her eyes widened as it jumped to Pyrex, then Phyllon and then her entire vision was filled with light, her hearing deafened her whole body was locked stiff....then darkness for a moment.
Destiny opened her eyes, vision and mind blurred and muscles twitching, she was trying to piece together what has just happened to her, she let out a loud groan followed by clearing her throat. She seen an outline of Pyllon in a puddle near her. She gasped a deep breath of air and pulled herself over to him, Her pure white fur dragging up mud as she did. She grabbed hold of Pyllon and pulled him close, she lay her head and ear over him to see if she could hear a heartbeat which in all thankfulness she could, but he was unconscious. She held him close like he was one of her own. She was confused in her own actions but for this very moment it seemed....right.
Destiny let out a cracked up half growl to try and address the others and waited eagerly for a reply.

Pyrex raced towards their prey as Mahali did keeping close behind him as the first crack of thunder rang through the skies. The slight purple tint it brought with it was something Pyrex had never seen before and the cheetah slowed as his eyes looked to the sky. The second flash came with a sound similar to the first, but this one was much louder and much closer.
“Whoooa!” Pyrex heard Phyllon say. “Mahali?… That's just a thunder... r-right?”
"Mahali, we need to get out of the open, right now !"
Pyrex turned to the white lion as she yelled to the group, here legs carrying here towards the young cub. Before the spotted feline could react any further a swift column of pale purple electricity fell from the heavens, its tendrils quickly finding their mark on Mahali's flank and then continuing to his own. The pain from the strike was something the adolescent had never felt before and it came with a strong tingling that permeated his body as he was thrust to the ground by his own betraying muscles. He tried as hard as he could to stop the encroaching darkness form filling his vision but it was for naught as his consciousness slipped away from him.
---
Pyrex's eyes pried themselves open just in time to see Destiny's white pelt stand with labored effort. His mind was still swimming in dizziness and this paired with his still tingling muscles forced him to simply watch from the puddle he found himself lying within as she moved to Phyllon, cradling him as if he was hers. As she released her small growl into the still air Pyrex forced himself to stand as his body swaying on unstable paws.
"What was that? he posed to the lioness as he finally manged to regain some semblance of balance

"What was that...that...that...that..."
Mahali felt like he was outside of his body as Pyrex's voice seemed to echo inside his head. He opened his eyes to see darkness, but somehow, he could still see perfectly. A moment later, he opened his eyes again, coming out of what was the strangest, and the shortest nightmare he had ever had. Normally, his first thought would be to get up and see if the others were okay but what he just saw, or what he just dreamed weighed so heavily on his mind that for long seconds at a time, he wracked his brain to make sense of it, yet, try as he might, he couldn't draw anything out of the dream. Nothing about it was mentally tangible and it disturbed him.
Finally, a low moan of a growl came from Destiny and it snapped Mahali out of his trance-like state of thought. He looked at her and he blinked and nodded, as if to say "I'm alright." Pyrex got up moments later.
"What was that?"
There was a pause as they all looked at each other.
Mahali looked to Destiny, hoping she had any kind of answer other than 'lightning.'

“…Ngh… Mom?” the cub uttered as he slowly regained consciousness, snuggling comfortably in the embrace of a lioness. “...I missed you, so much.”
Phyllon opened his eyes to find himself within white furred arms, then he looked up.
“Oh… hi Destiny, hehe” he said with a nervous smile, hoping the lioness didn’t hear what he said before. He looked at her white paws around him, then back at her. “Um… what are you doing?” he asked, lifting an eyebrow.
"...Actually, what happened? There was an antelope, and clouds and…” he stopped for a second and gasped. “Lightning!” Phyllon jumped out of Destiny’s arms very startled. “E-everyone ok!? Is someone hurt!?”

"What was that? Destiny shook her head while letting out another growl as a tingling sensation shot through her paws "I....have no idea, but one thing for sure is that isn't your typical colored lightning or the right season for such occurances" she exhausted She looked down back at Pyllon who started to stir “…Ngh… Mom?” ..... “...I missed you, so much.” Destiny's heart fell into her stomach for a small moment, half embarrassed and half confused. “Um… what are you doing?”
Destiny looked away in another direction trying to shield herself from her awkwardness I..... she hesitated
She slowly got up, her legs and paws still twitching. She gave herself a good shake and stretch while mumbling to herself as she noticed her white pelt had discolored and singed from the electric shock. She sighed and slumped down on her backside facing away from the group and stared at the sky as it started to show signs of clearing "Seems like its going" she said changing the subject "I think its best to get refuge in the overgrowth until we feel like ourselves again, we cant hunt in this state, can we?" she questioned

"It's alright Phyllon," Pyrex said calmly as he moved towards the cub, "I think we're all fine." Pyrex noticed the exchange the young one and Destiny had had but he decided not to ask about it -- at least not right now.
"I think you're right Destiny" he continued as his gaze looked around the now clearing skies, "on both accounts. Where should we head?" he asked Mahali and Destiny.

"It's alright Phyllon, I think we're all fine."
"Fine?" Mahali said as he scratched his head. "We just got struck by lighting and we're still alive. All things considered, I think we're doing pretty fantastic."
"Where should we head?"
Mahali walked slowly over to Destiny and Pyrex. "I 'd like to get out of the rain." He said as he walked past them and then continued on in the direction of the overgrowth. There was still a small pitter-patter of rain and Mahali didn't feel like getting any wetter than he already was.

"Fine? We just got struck by lighting and we're still alive. All things considered, I think we're doing pretty fantastic."
Phyllon inspected his own body in search for some mark left by the lightning. There was none. The cub let out a sigh of relief, calming down.
He listened to Destiny’s suggestion to get refuge in the overgrowth, to which he agreed. There was no point in getting soaked under the rain with the risk of more lightning and no prey to catch. But there was something peculiar about this rain that Phyllon found especially fulfilling, he had always liked water, but this time it felt quite different, like it had suddenly given him strength and made him feel more alive. Mahali was right, they were doing pretty fantastic indeed, he thought.
"I 'd like to get out of the rain."
“I don’t know… I kind of like it, it feels so refreshing, doesn't it?” Phyllon closed his eyes and smiled lifting his head. “But if you guys need to shelter, I’m totally ok with that. I’ll follow you wherever you decide to go.”
Phyllon stood up and started to follow Mahali. “Besides… I’m not hungry anymore,” he added, not realizing how strange that had sounded.

Pyrex looked around, what few purple-tinged clouds were still in the sky slowly drifting away. It seemed he wasn't the only one who couldn't make heads or tails of the situation. He jogged swiftly to Phyllon and Mahali, catching up to them as they began to head towards shelter.
"I wonder what all that was about..." Pyrex said softly to the others as they walked, his mind still racing with images of purple lightning and fire. "I've never seen anything like that... or even heard of it!" The cheetah jumped a bit as he made this realization; this was something completely new! As he excitedly babbled on about each and every second of the incident, he felt a small warmth form in his core and the more excited he got, the more intense it burned. He paused in his sentence, focusing on the feeling which caused it subside and his head to turn sideways in somewhat obvious confusion.

As the group entered the thicker foliage, a voice came from the shadows.
"Had a nice nap?"
"What do you want, Imara?" Mahali didn't even look at the lioness but he could see her silhouette just out of the corner of his eye. She was a stocky, strong lioness with thicker fur than most lionesses. It collected in tufts behind her legs, on her chest, along her jawline and on top of her head. She approached the group and bumped Mahali as she walked past them all as if they weren't there at all.
"It's not about what I want." She said, matter-of-factly. "He's been waiting for your contribution. It's been a month since your last one and he's getting impatient." Her emphasis on the 'he' was unnecessary. Mahali knew who she was talking about.
"Well tell him that mother nature has decided that we're not even allowed to feed ourselves. You saw that storm, right?" Mahali was getting impatient. He just wanted her to leave the group alone.
"Of course. There was a similar one last night..." Imara trailed off. Her eyes darted away and she shut her mouth quickly. She was hiding something. Mahali was about to ask her more about the storms but decided he'd rather see her gone.

Phyllon felt creeped out by the way the strange lioness had stalked the group and came out of nowhere. He backed away from Mahali and her until he was half-hidden behind Pyrex. The cub listened closely to their conversation trying to make any sense of it, but in the short time he had been with the group he had never heard of this lioness, Imara. He wondered what kind of relation she had with Mahali, also what had she meant with 'contribution', and who was the 'he' that she was talking about.
When the lioness had left, Phyllon approached Mahali again and stood beside him. The cub had so many questions, but only one came out of his little mischievous muzzle.
"...Was that your girlfriend?"

As Imara left, he noticed the muscles in his body had tensed and his heart rate had quickened. He was sure that if she decided to attack him, she'd win. Maybe not against all three of them, but she'd put up a fight. Imara was known for picking fights out of the blue.
"...Was that your girlfriend?"
Mahali's heart rate quickened again and his face became hot. He flinched away from Phylon, words spilling out of his mouth faster than he could put them together intelligently.
"What?! No! Ew! Imara? I mate her- HATE her!" Mahali's cheeks were so red, it was nearly visible through his fur. One slip of the tongue and he had embarrassed himself to the point of making himself angry. He was never going to live this down. With a frustrated grunt, he padded quickly away in the opposite direction Imara had gone, hoping nobody was following him.

"What?! No! Ew! Imara? I mate her- HATE her!"
Mahali's reaction caused the cub to fall over his back laughing uncontrollably while holding his belly in his paws, but upon seeing Mahali tread away angrily, Phyllon rolled over his belly and slowly regained his breath, eventually adopting an ashamed expression as he saw the older adolescent go. He looked down at his muddied paws, thinking of what he had done, but after a quick reflection he decided to stand up and chase after him.
“Mahali! Wait up!” He shouted as he ran towards the lion, catching up with him a moment later. He stopped and looked at Mahali in the eye with his head low and his ears flattened. “Hey, I’m… I’m sorry... I didn’t know you were upset. I… I shouldn’t have mocked you like that.” Phyllon turned his head slightly to look in the direction Imara had vanished. “…That lioness looked scary.”

Destiny had been walking behind the group purposely lagging behind to make sure everyone was in front and not trailing off. After such an event she was concerned if a member of the group started to feel disorientated and wondered elsewhere.
After a while their path was halted by an unknown Lioness, Destiny would of jumped straight to Mahali's defense but she stood down her guard as it seemed Mahali knew her, his body language didn't seem defensive/aggressive. She lay down low just in case anything were to happen and if it did means she could take her by surprise. She couldn't hear what they were talking about but this strange Lioness soon disappeared.
Destiny decided to catch up, as doing so she overheard Phyllon laughing about something as Mahali walked off, Phyllon soon disappearing after him.
Destiny sighed as they vanished into the foliage just up ahead from her and thought it best to just stay put where she is. Some sort of disagreement it seemed between the two she thought, and thought it best not to follow and interveene. She stretched out along the rich greenery.
"Ill just be here, I'm not easy to miss with this pelt huh" she said with a raised voice.
