TL has given me the OK to get this started without him. He and Kirsui will join when they can.

Ok so before we get this started, how do we want to begin? I noticed last time, those in this RP had established that the group was already a thing right from the beginning. I liked that. It gets us past the first few boring pages where everyone introduces their characters and writes each other's character descriptions in different words.
So I'm in favor of starting that way. "Dispense with the pleasantries" as it were.  Anyone else?

Oh right. Should we pick a posting order? Or should we just go by the same rules from LGD? I think either will work.

I'd be down for either. I kinda like what those from LGD so long as they aren't abused (but I doubt we'd have a problem considering the group we have).

So just out of curiousity are we thinking of having some sort of event trigger them getting powers or is it just something that happens randomly as a result of age? If we don't want to limit ourselves one way or the other I'm fine with that too; I just wanted to know if we had a preference.

I don't think we have ever given that a big thought But given that Phyllon is still a cub I don't think it would happen with age. Maybe it could be that at some point we find ourselves in a cave, with walls covered in ancient hieroglyphs or something. We dig in a bit too deep and get "cursed" as a result?
Or maybe we can be "selected" by a certain entity to send us in some mind of quest, giving us powers to help fulfill it?

My initial idea was something as simple as a lightning bolt that strikes near the group while they're out hunting that for some reason unlocks their dormant powers. I'd be on board for your ideas though Leo, they sounds like they would be interesting. Why not maybe merge the two so that the cave full of hieroglyphs curses us and then the entity that created the curse in the first place sets forth some kind of quest?

In any event it seems that we're probably going along with the "something happens to give them their powers" route.

I think the idea was that our characters slowly discover their powers. So it's not like BAM LIGHTNING STRIKE! "well i guess i have super powers now." Though I do like the lightning strike activating the dormant powers idea.

How about this. There's this big problem they can't do anything about. Could be anything like there's a famine and it's caused by some unimaginably big clan of hyenas. The point is, they can't do anything about it. They're just a couple kids. They get struck by lightning. They wake up and they're like "that was weird." And slowly, they start figuring out their powers. Eventually, they realize that they can now do something about the big problem.

I'm down for that idea. It's mostly up to you two how we want to play this out; I'd be up for pretty much anything

I like that idea, Lyon. More straightforward and yet it gives a chance to eventually discover our powers. That's better than the cave idea

There's another thing I'd like to have cleared up: how many members are there in our pride? will This Land's character be in it?
I just want to know so we can write around it ^^

Also just posting to say now the lightning thing has happened I'm sure we are all eager (admittingly i am very myself) to start showing signs of powers. Now its up to you guys how long you want to take in introducing them but remember this roleplay is all about discovering them and how your character changes and acts in his/her personality and how it may affect the group and the relationship within.

eg1. you can slowly show signs of weak power and it gets stronger as time goes by, your character learning how to control it or use it for practical things etc.

eg2. it happens full on strength but very rare, then gets more frequent as they learn to use it

eg3. No power at all for ages and your character has to learn to live with the group that all have awesome powers while you don't (jealously, confusion, conflict etc). Then suddenly BOOOM all your powers come out all at once in full.

Choose how you want and these are just examples, you may want to mix and match it up to your needs. But i assume you all get the general idea x3.

I thought about this long and hard before I even joined. I'm definitely doing something along 3 in case anyone else doesn't want to have the same type of discovery.

I'll have my post done soon; I've been swamped with schoolwork since we're approaching the end of the semester but it's calming down a bit.

I'm so excited about this!
I think that I'll go with something like eg.1, but it'll surely take Phyllon time to learn to control his power. One thing I'd like to point out is that Phyllon is weak against fire, and he develops a deep fear for it eventually. Then we have Pyrex, whose powers are fire-based, so one idea could be that their power differences might affect negatively in their friendship somehow. Maybe Phyllon could grow some distrust for Pyrex, or just simply make things awkward between them, considering they seem to get along very well as of now.
