Hey, do we want to add the role of NPCs to the list of characters in the sign up thread? For instance, in Leor's latest post, Tiifu is the leader of the hunting party. Zulu's character has a little bird friend. It'd be good to keep track of all of this so we don't accidentally get our lions (or any other animal) crossed .

Sorry guys, I may just drop out before I start so I don't hold everyone up I just have so much to do that it's impossible to do anything for fun these day s Aww Zor Sorry to hear that, but I understand that you're busy with real life stuff and work. I'd say you're welcome to join back in as soon as you have more freedom to post, if everyone is ok with it. Hey, do we want to add the role of NPCs to the list of characters in the sign up thread? Remind me of any I may have forgotten as well.

Wow, I had forgotten Tiifu was Alari's mother, and I played her with that knowledge erased from my mind xD.... yeah, a list of NPCs is definitely a good idea

While we're on the subject of NPCs, I think we should keep the non-canon NPCs to a minimum. Too many surprise NPCs might get a little confusing. Does that sound reasonable?

I'm guessing you're referring to the three 'fan girls' I introduced in my last post?
I suppose I can try. I do have some ideas for the grand conspiracy that will require some additional NPCs, but I won't be adding bucket loads anymore. The only reason I had three fan girls and gave them names is because it's hard to refer to 'fan girl#1' or 'fan girl#2' etc, so I gave them a little bit more info than that and made one of them Zuri's daughter - mostly because I was going to use Zuri to show how unwelcome Jono is with the rest of the pride. But the other two are really no more important than, say, Zulu's gazelle friend, or the gazelle that overheard Khari talk about hunting.
Anyway, I'll tell you if I think they're important enough to put some info down about.
Edit: If everyone prefers, I can make it so that only the first lioness to come see Jono actually has a name/distinct personality.

No post for nearly a month. No explanation from whoever's missing. Are we taking control of said person's character and continuing? Am I the only one who wants to continue?

I should have a post up soon. Guys. So sorry for delay. My computer is on its last legs and I need to a get a replacement. I am unsure how long that's gonna take tho. So after my post, consider Tarajii an NPC until I get back.

How long do you think it will be, Leto? I'm having trouble imagining a post that takes so long to compose.

I move that Zulu must say Fus Ro Dah before the roar actually works. Let us not forget who had it first:
Also, given the confrontational nature of Zulu's last post, do you guys mind if I reply straight away, out of order? It won't be a long post. 96 words, in fact:). I'm happy to forgo a post later to make it even. And I understand if this isn't ok too. I can just barely contain myself and it does kinda fit that Jono's response would be immediate:).

Thanks Leor:). I did put it up but I've taken it down. Figured I should wait for a couple more opinions first. I don't want to upset anyone. For the moment it's in a safe place.
Zulu: What's your opinion, seeing it directly relates to your character? If you don't want me to post straight away then I won't.
My post shouldn't slow anyone down, as it's ready to go:).

I'm in favor of actually switching to a more loose posting style. The others and I have been talking in the Skype chat and we all pretty much agree.
From here on, we will be trying a new way of posting. Or rather, the old way. We are doing away with the strict posting order in favor of a "post as needed" style of posting. If your character is away and there's not much to say, you don't have to post. If you feel you need to make a post sooner to respond to something that has happened in the story, you may. I'm not going to spell out a bunch of guidelines. I'm leaving it up to you guys to post freely but also be courteous.

Hey guys:). I sense a bit of a trial of sorts coming up for Jono, which is cool. Just remember that in a proper court you can't comment on intention. Only what you've seen. Eg: you can say, "Jono was grinning ear to ear after shouting the warning," but not, "Jono was trying to start a fight." Otherwise the judge rejects it (I've watched enough Judge Judy (sadly) to know this is true. Also it comes handy in teaching as well). So when it comes to it make sure the facts speak for themselves. Of course animals in africa aren't going to have a proper court really, but we can hope the king and queen are proponents of justice and all that.
Also, remember you all as roleplayers have the benefit of seeing Jono's inner monologue, so you know his intentions. But for NPCs who weren't there it's going to be very dubious. I don't mind Jono being found guilty but let's make sure it's done the right way. Imagine if I had posted that Jono had shouted his alarm and then crouched behind the boulder and grinned. That's really all your characters get, and then only if they were looking.
Please don't take this to say that we have to do anything big like a trial or whatnot. I'm not trying to make Jono the centre of attention or anything. Just that the trial's already kinda started with evidence being given, etc, and I want to make sure Kovu and Kiara act like proper judges when it comes to making the correct call on Jono's guilt. Which is really hard to do when we all know he's guilty:).
And ABB, I think Ono's advice was very good and factual, until the very end:).
This is a great RP, guys. I can't wait to see where it goes:).

It's funny that I thought of a trial coming up at some point earlier too, but I thought it would be for Feroz xD It's an interesting idea, I'd love to see it played out, but I'm not sure if this rp should go in that direction or not. Better wait to see what others say, I personally don't mind ^^

Post by cheezeegriff on Feb 4, 2016 4:08:06 GMT
Yeah I don't want it to go that way either. Mostly I just don't want all characters to think Jono is guilty based on Ono's evidence. It's fine that Kovu believes it, as evidently he already has a really hot head. It's fine that Feroz and Nuha believe it. But if Kiara is the queen then she should be able to tell the difference between opinion and fact in Ono's report, and wait for both sides of an argument before making a decision. That's all I really want:). I'll show it myself if I think I can do it without interrupting the flow.

I want to congratulate everyone in LGD. While only two pages long, this RP is now longer than 50% of the RPs in the Structured Roleplays section.
