I want to mention something I said in the skype chat so I'll copypaste it here.
Imagine dungeons and dragons but everybody is the DM. We'll figure out a common goal once we get in and then we'll just play it out Anyone at any time can throw a curveball if they want. Alari could break her leg What then? Nobody plans to break their leg so I won't know what to do. It's then up to everyone else to figure it out. Tarajii will probably use her medicinal skill in that case but Leto won't be prepared for it. Feroz would probably have to carry Alari until her leg heals. Unless Feroz got captured somehow, a curveball you (a balanced breakfast) could've thrown at any point. That's what I mean when I say I don't want to plan anything. I think it's more fun that way.
I do realize that there does need to be some planning, like who the main antagonist is going to be but I think it'll be more fun the less about the future we know. That being said, I have an idea for an antagonist. Like a really BAD character. Not only that, but it's unique too. And I'm confident when I say, it's really good. But I don't want to bring it up with anyone until the character rears their head. I want to have the characters profile posted when I introduce them into the story. At which point, I'll make the character and NPC so that I'm not in complete control over the story.
Thoughts? Questions? Concerns?

You've peaked my interest with the antagonist Lyonize, so I am gonna trust you and say we'll let you do this.
I like curveballs and surprises in RP's actually, however you need to have a sort of professionalism in the players for this to work; I used to play DnD and I've been RPing for over 20 years now and can't tell you how many times I've run into people having their characters get injured or got into lifethreatening situations on every second breath, I admit I used to do it too, in my early days of RP when I was younger. These people do this to steal spotlight for their character in the story; and we have to trust that other players in this RP won't be doing that... as it can actually kill the fun of an RP.
Just putting that out there. This means more freedom than having a GM, which means we won't be railroaded a long a narrow plot-path, which I am all for. However I didn't mind Cheezegriff's idea either to have NPC's kinda nudge the plot on occassion, but in seeing this I am kinda confident we can manage that on our own.
If someone actually do break a leg or get severly injured, I(as the medic character) am going to restrain them through the time it actually takes to heal something like a broken leg. They're not gonna be fine the next day, I'll emphaise strongly that the things you put your character through in the RP has to have adequate consequences to your actions. So forexample; flatout attacking the bad guy during the epic standoff... is probably gonna get you killed, or worse.
Actions = consequences, pretty please!

That'd be interesting. I have some ideas for bad guys too. Someone's got to be behind all the troubles in the pride lands, after all. I have some motivations and stuff that I think are fairly unique/interesting. Said character's motivations might not even necessarily be bad, either. But no need that only one bad guy be in operation at any one time, either, so long as it doesn't get too messy. It's quite conceivable that there are many evil eyes focussed on the pride lands at any given time.
Just out of curiosity: is it possible to have "spoilers" tags on this thread? I had an idea to hide some of my posts so that characters who aren't present at certain locations don't know what's going on... But which are reveal able at just the click of a button. Alternatively I could just make the text yellow I suppose, so it doesn't stand out.
When are we getting this thing started?

I agree with everything you guys are saying. However I didn't mind Cheezegriff's idea either to have NPC's kinda nudge the plot on occassion, but in seeing this I am kinda confident we can manage that on our own. Yeah, I'm trusting everyone here to be considerate enough to make sure their posts don't throw everyone off. Yes. We're playing this on hard mode. It doesn't look like it. Maybe you could just post a link to pastebin.com/ and mention that what you wrote in it is a spoiler. As soon as Tamber finishes Nuhas profile.

As soon as Tamber finishes Nuhas profile. Sorry y'all, I've had some major thesis work to do the last couple days, and an exam in the morning. I'll do my best to finish her tomorrow.

I can definitely understand. It's that time of year after all. Oh, I almost forgot to ask you. For the initial post, I wanted to do a quick paragraph with all three siblings as cubs and then fast forward to the present (when the're adolescents) at which point, I'll just set the scene. Is that alright with you?

Fine by me (if that you was plural, and you weren't just asking Zulu. If you were then that's fine by me too:)).

Alright then. LETS DO THIS!
I'll have an initial post up today. As for posting order, how about this?

I'm fine with the posting order. I'm not really sure we need one, mind you. Maybe at first but not for long. My character's a bit of a loner anyway so I might not post during every 'round,' but we'll see. By golly I hope this doesn't end up dead or stagnant before Christmas.
By the way, Lionize, the first post looks great:). Makes me want to read the rest of the book. Did Simba just die though?

We will probably have a few breaks here and there this month since some members will be spending more time with family. I think that's to be expected.

Generally we don't tend to recover from breaks here or there. I'm choosing to be pessimistic so I'm not too disappointed if this dies, and can be pleasantly surprised if it lasts:). Also, it's kind-of in character, lol.

lol. Hold on. Lemme get into character too. Oh, cheer up. Nobody as hot as you (Jono) is allowed to be a downer.

I'm okay with a posting order to start, but I suggest we don't stick to one. It can really slow the RP down if one person isn't able to post for some reason. I love the first post, Lyonize. Very sweet, and nicely done.

Thanks, Tamber. I meant to put a little more into it but I was a bit stressed at the time. Still had some unfinished homework but I just had to make that first post so we could get it going. For example, grandma is still alive. ;D Think of Nala as a wise, old lioness now. Maybe she's got some wisdom for our clueless teenage superheroes. XD

Oh! I forgot to add Zorayda to the list! Sorry! So the new order is like this: Leor - Khari Zulu - Nuha Leto - Tarajii ABB - Feroz Lyonize - Alari Cheezeegriff - Jono Zorayda - Nashira

Lyon let me know that I screwed up and posted out of order - I misread the list and assumed I was second after Lyonize. didn't mean to step on your toes, Leorgathar.
