Jono (Keenest of Sight)
Age: Adolescent (barely)
Species: Lion. 1/4 leopard.
Appearance:
-black mane fading to brown on his underside, where it hasn't quite come in. His mane is usually very messy, and tends to poke up in a crown of spikes at the top of his head and around his ears, mostly because he's out by himself most of the time.
-Dark brown/red fur
-intense yellow eyes which are heavy-lidded when he's bored, but go wide-eyed when he's excited or interested. His eyes tend to catch the light and stand out from his dark face. The whites of his eyes are dark in comparison to other lions/lionesses.
-Very long and thick whiskers that can reach just past his ears when flattened against his face. His whiskers are slightly kinked.
-tall and thin frame, perhaps lanky, but not ungainly. He holds himself in an easy posture.
-"wild good looks."
History: Son of a rogue lion/leopard hybrid allowed to remain in the pride by Queen Kiara. His father left and he grew up with his mother, who was scorned and shunned by the other lionesses for her involvement with the rogue. She was eventually injured trying to take a buffalo down all by herself. It fell to Jono to look after her. He accepted a role in the Lion Guard to improve his (and thereby his Mother’s) status.
Personality: avoids others, mostly. Bitter about his mother's lack of acceptance into the pride. Can often be hostile towards those he sees as privileged. Though he stands on the outer, secretly he wants to be loved and accepted.
Abilities/role in the Lion Guard: Jono isn’t particularly strong or particularly fast. He doesn’t consider himself particularly brave. But he is very good at going by unnoticed. Due to his chequered history and his wild good looks he’s seen by many as the poster bad boy of the lion guard and often gets a lot of undesired attention. So he spends most of his time on the borders of the prideland. Due to this, and his good eyesight, Jono is usually the first to spot trouble (keenest of sight) and, where able, the first one to deal with it.
